what build are you using?
On Haykuro 'G' builds, the Market is down.

It's a very well known issue with Haykuro's G builds. It started a couple of nights ago from Google's end. Considering all that's happening on their end as far as updates go, I wouldn't be surprised if they're doing something to the market in preparation to their cupcake release.

I wonder how many impatient yet curious people out there, who is going to go back to RC33, just to try out the cupcake and go back to having root again. I don't see myself missing any features from the update. perhaps more lacking than anything else if I choose the by the book upgrade method. I have never used the myfav app. Maybe I would welcome the IM app more so than anything. I would love to see the H build camera appear on the next root cupcake build.
I'm just sad that it won't have Flash. After the video demoing a full version of Flash on a G1 a while back, and the rumors that it'd be ready w/ Cupcake, I'm disappointed that we still have to wait. OTOH, it means we still won't be subjected to annoying Flash ads. *shrug*
And if you look close at that video, the parts that actually had motion to it were incredibly laggy.
Adobe can't even get flash on Linux to work smoothly, I don't think they are interested in making it smooth for the G1.
Heck, they are so inept they are outsourcing the development of their own product to a third party.
Flash could have been a great product, but Adobe has ran it into the ground since the '05 acquisition of Macromedia.
I was running JF's ADP1.5 and I got a system update message from Google... I thought it was kind of weird. Has anyone had that happen?

why go back to rc33 when we can go to JF1.5,Dude1.1a or Haykuro?
Well i personally went back to rc33 because it seems to run better to me, also to get protected apps back. They would install on JF 1.50 but not work it would just force close on me. They worked fine on dude's build but its too unstable for my taste. I also use open home and its not ready for cupcake yet so back I go. Im gonna use rc version of cupcake anyways so might as well go back now. Cupcake doesn't really offer me anything i need.

aHome has a cupcake version (search for it) and it's free. I'm running a bunch of signed/protected apps without any issues.

From what I can remember now, two of them are nba gametime and RepliGo Reader.
i'm on dude 1.1a and have no problems. i have ahome and open home running with no problems. protected apps have no problems (call faker, spades, decibel, etc.) nothing has forced closed on me. and have everything running off sd card
Advanced Task Manager works with JF1.5 ADP, and Bratag has a Cupcake version of SnapPhoto Pro available to customers who paid for the RC33 version.
I've been running the Dude's build and I have no problems with protected apps.
One or two had to be uninstalled and re-installed... But, they worked just fine.
Stability? I haven't had any problems!!! with the ROM.
There were one or two apps that had compatibility problems... But, I contacted the devs and they fixed them.
I can't figure out why so many people have so many problems!! I'm just guessing they aren't following all of the instructions at the beginning.
I will say that when going to the versions with the new unionfs system for apps2sd I would recommend copying the app and app-private files, wiping everything else from the ext2 partition and replacing them prior to moving to the newest versions... But, that was the only "difficult" thing about it. Then everything works great!

I have... I just recently changed from CM6 to Myn's ROM. I'm not certain if that was the cause or not, but it only started happening since the change from CM6.
I just changed to myns Rom too but it was doing it before, although not as often. I can't even get through the first ten seconds of the song.

From what I understand, ROMS that were based on the releases prior to the 3.29.651.5 OTA did have an issue with stagefright that caused skipping in some music streaming apps (with the exception of CM6, which was built from the ground up).
But Myn's ROM is based on the current OTA, and I am experiencing exactly what you are experiencing. Sometimes just a few seconds before it skips.... I've tried wiping an re-flashing, and also enabling and disabling stagefright... I keep getting the same results.
It's super frustrating!
I just switched back to fresh 3.3.0.1 and played through 3 songs no problem. Unfortunate because I really like myn's rom.

Looks like I'll be doing the same soon.
I too have been having the same problem.
It happen on all the roms that I have instaled.
Ava
CM6
IncDoes's port. forgot which one.
Does it to me randomly on virus using kings latest kernel.
Mine's been doing that lately too. Extremely annoying.
happens to me about 1 in every 5 or 6 songs. Annoying enough to be annoying hehe.
I run MIUI, CM6 latest nightly, and VaelPak and same prob. Am running Kingx kernels on each one so that may be something for me to try changing.
Here's something to throw into the mix - when pandora updated to 1.5.1 (or at least since yesterday), if you were using the stagefright fix (like I was), it will not play at all. Maybe those roms were using similar stagefright fixes - as far as I know, only CM is using the "official" fix for this (although I could be wrong about that).

Latest Google Maps Update Causing Reboots

Has anyone else had random reboots with the latest version of Maps that was released on 8/16/2012? I know over in the AOKP thread we have:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30327622&postcount=1518
I wanted to mention it here, because I noticed other reviews on the Play store mentioning the same problem. If anyone else is having the issue, you can get the previous version of the Maps app here and sideload it until Google gets this resolved:

I'm running CleanRom 4.5 DE final and haven't had any problems with the latest update. I know it doesn't help the problem, but it would be nice for everyone to sound off and compile a list of the roms having issues.

Yeah, I appreciate it. So far it seems pretty random. I've read that a variety of HTC devices with a variety of ROMs (including stock) have the issue, with at least one person reporting an issue with a Motorola device.
I am on CM10 and haven't had any issues with the new update. I haven't actually used maps much, possibly at all(?), but I haven't had any problems. I'll update if I start to use it and get issues.

Hmm, maybe it's the new Smart App Updates causing problems.

[Q] CM 10.1 Nightly Force Closes

I'm not sure if this is the right place for me to post it... On the Tab 2 forum there is an area for this in the development area, but I couldn't find it. Sorry in advance if this doesn't go here.
I just installed the nightly for the 20th of CM10.1 and I'm getting a lot of SystemUI force closes. Wondering if anyone else was having this issue or if it was just me?
I know... It is a nightly so I'm not fussed about it but if it is just me, I'll look into fixing it on my end but if others are having issues with that ROM then I"ll probably flash back to the 18th or something.
Thanks.

There is another thread for cm10.1 issues and whatnot, its not a big deal to me, but I've seen people freak out! Haha
Anyways, lately there's been a lot of issues with the nightlies lately. The new CM (around march 18th) came with a new kernel version, from version 3.0ish or something to 3.43 ish?? Anyways, the new kernel fixed some issues, but also caused some new issues since its still fairly new from my understanding. I've had one system ui force close, and MANY freezes. Also, there for a while it would freeze during calls, but I haven't had one of those for a while now.

Thanks for the information... Yeah, I actually had more freezing when I was stock then with the CM builds. Where might I find the other thread? I must be blind to not have seen it.

Where is AOKP?

They have not made a new ROM for the Nexus 5 since October or such of 2014. I have tried to contact them, to no avail. I really like their ROM's and always ran theirs exclusively. If anyone has an update on them or perhaps a ROM that is very close to theirs that uses 5.1 let me know. Thanks.

If they haven't build one, then they're taking their time and you'll have to be patient, or it was abandoned/migrated. There are plenty of ROMs already, anyways, it shouldn't be hard to find one you like.
