Has anyone tried to remove the Boxwave Crystal screen protector? Did it come off easily with no residue on the screen (as when you put it on)?
I've searched but found nothing on the results after removal.

Please help! I really need a good screen protector soon. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.
Most importatant is to know which device you have
but try googleing: proporta or boxwave
I have a tilt. I've already researched those companies but once again, I have not been able to determine whether they go to the edges of the screen (as i have conflicting reports) nor whether they don't damage the screen upon removal.

This is my first ever touchscreen type of phone and am wondering is it really worthwhile getting getting a screen protector for it ?
At the moment it normally sits in my shirt pocket all day at work, also my workplace is not such a place where there is a risk of damage via handling (unless I drop it of course )I understand it will keep the fingerprints off the screen but will just go on the protector instead.
Does a screen protector kill some of the image quality of the screen?
What I'm afraid of is if I don't like the screen protector on it and remove it I am going to be left with a sticky residue on the glass screen.
A proper case will be getting bought for it though.
It’s entirely your decision, but having a screen protector will reduce the chances of you accidently scratching or damaging the screen. The Desire is my first touch-screen phone too, but I’ve always used screen protectors in the past - if nothing else, knowing that I can peel off the old protector and apply a new one and keep the screen underneath looking as good as new provides some level of reassurance.
A good screen protector will be almost invisible and should not affect the display quality noticeably at all (an anti-glare one might diffuse the image slightly, but that's the price you pay for reducing reflection). Similarly, there should be no sticky residue when removing them.
I’ve always used Martin Fields screen protectors in the past, but this time around I went for a Brando ultra-clear one and I’m very happy with it. The only slightly tricky bit is avoiding dust and dirt getting in there when sticking the protector on in the first place!
Of course, this is also the first phone I’ve ever had with an exposed glass screen, so perhaps I’m being paranoid as it's probably more resistant to scratches than a plastic one - I’d rather not take the risk though.
Hi guys,
I saw several topics relative to screen protectors but I'm a bit lost when it comes to choose a good screen protector that fit my requirements..
Right now, I am using the screen protector (and back protector) delivered with the phone (not talking about the anti-shatter film), but I got recently an impact/scratches on the screen and I'd like to change the screen protector to something at least as good as the original sony screen protector.
I was quite interested in buying a tempered glass screen protector as it is highly resistant to scratches and has usually oleophobic coating, but I heard that it is very fragile and, once applied, the phone can't fit anymore in the sony charging dock (which is really a shame). But I'd like to have a confirmation from you guys regarding this?
Otherwise, can you please give me advice about a great plastic screen protector, easy to apply and efficient against scratches and fingerprints (oleophobic coating if it exists for plastic screen protector)?
I saw suggestions about the XtremeGuard one, is that really worth the price? What I don't like is you need water to install it onto the screen (that's why the HI-DEF one of this manufacturer looks better as you don't need water), also there's no hole for the proximity sensor, I heard that's sometimes a problem?
Thanks in advance for your advices!
Would I be able to use the hinge method to fit my anker tempered glass screen protector? Thanks in advance.
I wouldn't recommend it. IIRC, the hinge method relies on being able to bend the screen protector to keep it as close to the screen as possible in order to avoid unnecessary bubbles. Obviously with a piece of glass, it's not advisable to bend it. Using the hinge method with a glass screen protector would help with the alignment still, but I think the most important thing is to keep to screen protector relatively flat and as close to the screen as possible to avoid getting dust or lint in between.
I was able to follow the included instructions in the Spigen GLAS.t and it was applied just fine. If it's a properly designed piece of glass, it should be flush to the screen without causing bubbles, so the hinge method isn't really necessary anyways.

Check the accessory section for many first hand reports. A lot of people say that most brands have issues with fewer people saying the are happy but read the thread for yourself.

Just a quick question for anyone. I am looking for a tempered glass screen protector that actually fits. The 3 that I have ordered do not cover the screen completely. If anyone uses one that actually covers the display edge to edge could you please tell me what brand. Thanks all

I have been using a Moshi iVisor edge-to-edge for about 4 months and have had no problems with it. I have used it in conjunction with a UAG case and it fits perfectly. Note that it only has adhesive around the edges, and not on the screen itself. Others have reported the edges lifting and allowing dust in over time, but I have not yet experienced this (it is supposed to be fully washable and reusable, should this happen). Also it is one of those protectors with the 'grid of dots' on the glass (something to do with the way the glass is hardened, or touch sensitivity or something). This is only visible in direct sunlight when the screen is off, and I never really notice it.

There are other edge-to-edge protectors, if you check out this thread (especially toward the end) you'll find others who have used them:

I'm thinking particularly of this one, which is similar to the Moshi:

Both edge-to-edge and those with a gap around have their pluses and minuses - but I, for one, can't stand the gap around the screen protector that the non-edge-to-edge protectors have, sorry but I think it looks dreadful. :/

Why start a new thread? Question has been covered so many times in the actual tempered glass thread.

Thanks for your reply. I started the thread because I just got this device and when I attempted to check accessories it would loop me back to a blank page. This is the main reason I usually stick to one thread on XDA. People that just sit and wait to jump on someone for a simple question without bothering to send a PM but would rather say what they think they need to for everyone to see...so they can get a thumbs up. I really appreciate your reply . You would fit in well with the thread Im always on...respectful..fun..all around good time...so heres a ?up for you for acting like an adult. Im not new to this game...I just understand the respectful way to go about something?
FirekatV19N3..(FireGearV20)
So I got my second nuglas from eBay. Just like my first one it's cut small. But IMO it's the best for phone's that can't get rid of the halo. It has a very good oleophobic screen and very smooth. Mine has very little halo on sides and around home button. It still looks great with the minimal halo I can deal with.
Does anyone know if Samsung will sell the exact screen protectors they are applying on new devices?
Also, if I wanted another like the factory one which appears to be non-TPU, what would one search to find it?
I like how smooth it feels with no orange peel. Closest thing to tempered glass without being glass. I do realize it probably won't hold up very well.
Thanks
Figured out it's PET as opposed to TPU
