What's a good screen protector?
gorilla glass,so don't need it
btw the best screen protector is by BRANDO
Even with Gorilla Glass i would want one for anti-glare and anti-fingerprint measures.
There are many conflicting reports on the web re the screen, where does it state that it has Gorilla Glass.
Wrapsol, Google it or YouTube it..

lg italy on twitter.
nah, my opinion would be don't use any screen protector. the screen already has a stereoscopic film w/c makes the display a bit pale. so putting on a screen protector might affect the viewing quality more... been using mine for some time now and still doesn't have a single scratch on the screen(*crossing fingers)...
So now that the phone is released who is going to be putting screen protectors on them and does anyone know what the best method is for putting a screen protector on.
I have a screen protector on mine (don't trust the phone yet, nor do i have a whole lot of trust in myself). 3D still works great and the 2D viewing experience is, in practice, unaffected. Installation depends on the kind of screen protector you are going to use.

How did you put your screen protector on?
Well, i just put it on.
It's a PIXXENO C82RS (crystal clear, no adhesive). The only difficulty is aligning the screen protector properly since you'll notice even half a milimeter. Besides that you should pay close attention to dust since you would notice that as well beneath the protector. But it's relatively thick and easy to apply without airbubbles.
I'm looking to get a nice screen protector for mine too. btw, so happy with this phone! everyone I show is blown away by the 3d! usually saying "I thought it would be a gimmick but thats really good!"
For my wifes iphone I just got a generic screen protector and used a drop of water to apply and a baby's plastic spoon (solid but soft enough not to scrach/mark the plastic) to push any bubbles out.
Brando ultra clear screen protector became available few days ago - I've just ordered one.
Currently I have Proporta's universal 4.5" protector. It's better than nothing, but I feel it's too thick and doesn't adhere completely to the screen at the edges. (I know 4.5" is different than O3D's nominal 4.3" screen diagonal, but the protector almost perfectly covers the screen + keys, everything except upper area with front camera.)
I bought screen protector for Samsung Galaxy S, it perfectly fits the Optimus P920 screen, i only cut about 1-2cm at the bottom. The whole screen of P920 and touch buttons is covered, its really perfectly fits to Optimus 3D
I bought two packed pieces of it for about 6,50€ .
Just applied Brando ultra clear protector to the screen. Very happy with it, it's nearly 100% transparent.
Naturally I hate putting on screen protector or cases on my phone. I came from SGS to O3D and I didn't need a screen protector (a real gorilla ). Unfortunately I have seen some little scratches on my O3D . It looks like I will be parting with this phone sooner

gorilla glass only goes so much if you have, for example, specks of sand in your pocket or if the phone falls in gravel/tarmac..
Screec Protectors FTW
Could anyone recommand a good (tested!) screen protection that have the properties of anti-glare and anti-fingerprint? Some ebay links?
I´m using EXIM screen protectors: http://shop.eximstyle.com/ quality is good, price is cheap and fitment is perfect.

I have theese in my TOMTOM navigator, 3 different phone, DSLR Cameras etc..
I wanted to gather some feedback after many of us have had the phone for several months.
In my second week of owning the phone, I put a simple screen protector on and have not taken it off. The bare screen was so smooth and so easy to clean, resisting fingerprints which the screen protector collects like there is glue on it.
Have any of you been running with the device sans a protector, and if so, how has your screen fared in terms of nicks and scratches? I would love to peel mine off if I can be reasonably confident it can live without it.

I just ordered my Moto X but I can speak from experience with other Gorilla Glass 3 screens. If you are careful with them you will most likely not get any easily visible scratches, but odds are you will get minor scratches that are only visible under sunlight/directly under a lightbulb. If that would bother you, keep a screen protector on it. If not, take it off.
I just ordered my motox, I was wondering what screen protector or tempered glass you would recommend (I'm from the UK)

Based on what I've read in the tempered glass screen protector thread, there don't seem to be any companies putting out a tempered glass screen protector that works perfectly with the Moto X 2. Because of the slightly curved screen, none of the glass screen protectors will stick properly around the edges.
I haven't used a screen protector in at least 3 years. I hate them, and think they are absolutely pointless. What's the point of protecting the glass if you are never going to actually USE the glass?
I'm using the matte screen protector from Moto's site. Actually really like it. It does degrade image quality when light colors are shown though. Regardless, the matte effect is pretty cool and just having a tiny bit of protection puts me at ease since we still don't have high quality tempered glass options.
You are using the glass, you're looking through it!!
I'm looking for a good screen protector for my Moto X.
I tried these, but they weren't good:

Anybody tried a good one?

I have not used screen protector in a few years myself. They won't help if you drop your phone. Also with Gorilla glad it is very hard to get scratches, however I have gotten some micro scratches that can be seen with the lighting just right.
With this phone I have had it for a month now and no scratches.
I really think the screen on this new Moto X is great and I would not recommend a screen protector.

I've dropped mine two times, the second of which was from about 5 feet straight onto concrete. The phone bounced, landed on the screen and slid about a foot. There's not one scratch on it. No screen protector or case. Don't know if I'm extremely lucky or this thing is a tank.
I have dropped my Moto G (1st gen) 57 times. Yes, I keep count
The screen still looked perfect before I gave it to my dad when I got the Moto X. There was one small scratch on the plastic on the back, but it was pretty minuscule in size.
I love the feel of the glass too.
I really don't think screen protectors are necessary even if you are as clumsy as me. I could just be lucky too...
Bad Luck
I've dropped my Moto X 2nd Gen 3 times now and all 3 times the screen got a new crack. I'm getting it replaced since I got MotoCare. The curved glass adds some weakness and since these curved edges extend out past the frame that is the first thing that hits on front face falls. I'm looking for a screen protector, if one exist, that will be able to wrap around the edges.

Here's the thing about screen protectors. The cheap (and not so cheap) plastic ones are mostly unnecessary. They won't protect against drops very much (maybe some of the wet apply ones) and give off a way worse feel to the finger than the pure glass. They do protect against scratches, but IMO it's not worth the effort nor the cost.
However, the new(ish) tempered glass screen protectors change a lot of that. Sure, they're kind of expensive, but they actually protect against drops, feel like the glass that's on the phone, and protect against scratches as well. However, it's incredibly apparent that due to the design of the Moto X, few companies are bothering to make this type of screen protector for the phone, and the few that are have made products that don't fit very well to the phone. So there's really no good option here in terms of screen protectors.
From what I've read, there isn't really a good tempered glass screen protector for this device yet. It seems like all of the decent ones still have issues with the sides lifting up due to the curved edges. Has anyone found that covers the entire screen and doesn't have this issue?
What the heck is the difference between THIS (a regular HD Screen Protector) and THIS (a tempered glass screen protector)
Reg screen protectors are just thin pieces of film that don't do much protecting against drops, but will prevent minor scratches. Temp glass usually has a hardness of h9 and will save your screen if it takes a bad spill, I know of this first hand. Hopefully the temp glass will cracked leaving your phones screen intact. Temp glass is just better protection all around AND it will prevent your screen from becoming part of the recycling trash on friday. Temp glass has saved me twice, one with a note 4 and once with an LG g3. I would never go back to buying those thin film protectors that do nothing
I don't have first-hand experience with tempered glass protectors, but I do think standard screen protectors offer more protection than twoeleven99 indicated. I used a Skinomi front and back protector on my Nexus 4 (also a glass sandwich), and it adds a nice barrier to the glass. It also has some give, so it absorbs some of the impacts that would otherwise shatter glass.
Another thing I liked is that it adds slightly more grip than glass, preventing drops and slips. It would also be way more practical for the S6 edge, since the wet-apply ones can handle curved screens no problem.
That said, I'm going to give a tempered glass one a shot this time to see if it is more clear (eg: less rainbowing or orange peel effect).
As mentioned already, a tempered glass screen protector will do a better job protecting your phone's screen from damage. They may cost more initially, but they'll last a while. You typically have to change out plastic screen protectors more frequently after light scratches have built up.

I've been using tempered glass screen protectors for the last 2 years. They add thickness, but they're honestly amazing. One thing that I've never really confirmed, but I keep hearing rumors that when dropping a device with a tempered glass screen protector, the energy disperses onto the protector, therefore shattering the protector rather than the phone's screen itself. I never really had a massive drop before to test this out (nor do I have the funds to break my phones), but I have dropped my G2 before, and the corner of the protector cracked while the screen itself was completely fine.
I also like how glass feels compared to PET screen protectors.

I've had the tempered glass completely shatter from one end to the other on 2 devices. Peeled it off and the screen under never had a scratch on it
Hi i received today my screen protector that I ordered on aliexpress
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2pcs...rotector-Full-Body-Explosion/32471481594.html
really nice fit, front and back, edges are nicely rounded.
I noticed that touch is a bit less sensitive
I've got a similar one but haven't noticed any reduction in sensitivity but it was fairly easy to apply and with a 0.33 screen protector like you say the egdes become really nice, almost like Sony designed the phone with that in mind
I went with a .3mm tempered glass protector too. Similar good fit, but I too have noticed a distinct reduction in senstivity. Guess I might have to change back to a more standard protector.
I've got this one and like I've said, no noticeable sensitivity reduction.
Not sure if the picture gives any guidance since most seem to be the same package (but mine was front only) just different paper covers. Also love the fact that it got a typo on compact (compzct) ^^ Chinese high-end :good: The stickers and wipe packages where more or less identical to the ones that was shown on the site for the first post.
I washed my screen with water and soap to remove grease more effectively, then did the normal steps for applying the glass.
I got this, which I had on the Z3C as well and it's perfect.:

I bought a similar Chinese screen protector, but it's way too small. Is there a tempered glass protector that fits perfectly?

The one I got fits almost perfect, maybe 0.5 mm "gap" around the screen but since the egde is above the normal screen the phone feels more or less completely smooth. How small is your screen compared to the phone?
My tempered protector fits well but it feels like it's a little less responsive.

I orderd mine from ebay for 2 euro and its awesome. Dont have any problems with responsiveness but you people that have that problem can try to turn on the handglove mode in dislplay settings so it responds more.
I've never used a tempered glass protector. (Usually use a SGP protector)
Do most of these use an adhesive to bond to the screen? Does it prevent clean removal?
I put this in this morning and it works great: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/olixar-sony-xperia-z5-compact-tempered-glass-screen-protector-p55394.htm
I'm considering this one by PThink Seems to have alot of good reviews. I'm not sure how well it really works
Just added a Taggshield Tempered Glass 9H Film to my Compact. Fits nice, as mentioned before, almost as if Sony set the glass lower for this to be added. Easy to install, no glue etc.
I wonder how long it will last on, as static holds it on, hoping it will protect the glass from scratchs. Time will tell
I bought this one http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ultr...ctor-Film-for-Sony-Xperia-Z5/32475934373.html
0.2mm thin, easy to apply
Aliexpress... tempered glass. Cheap but long time to deliver
I have used Orzly Tempered Glass Screen Protector on both my Z5C and Z3C
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0158V7WNI
I'm specifically looking for a protector that has no camera/sensor cutouts - bought one that the picture had none, but it has them (and they're horribly misaligned).
If anyone can link one they have that is cut-out-less I'd be very grateful.
Ultimate Shield?
I have one and this not have cut-outs...
Just to give you guys an update. I bought my glass screen protector a few weeks ago. So easy to install. Dropped my phone from a height of about 5ft onto a sharp edge of metal and then onto concrete. I have a silicon case too. Smashed the screen protector and got a nice dent on the side of my phone but otherwise it's perfect. Any other protector would have allowed my screen to break. Well impressed and new one arriving in a day or two.

Hey guys, I'm new on this forum and I would like to ask for help regarding a screen protector. My phone came with a pre-installed screen film protector and I replace it with a glass protector that I bought on ali, but the glass wont fit on the edges on the phone. I read the feedback from other users and they have the same problem. I want to ask if any of you has bought a glass protector for the p9 lite 2017 that actually works or even a regular screen protector it would be nice, because I can't use it with the edges not glued, it looks bad and after the first day of using it, the glass is cracked on one edge.
Thanks for your help!
There is no way to fix this because the screen is curved on the sides, and they can't make curved glass screen protectors, the only way to avoid this is to use a plastic screen protector
