Currently my Pocket Outlook (WM6.1) shows emails dating back up to about a week(?).
Is there anyway of getting this to go back further, so, say for example, I can have 30 days worth of emails visible on my phone?
yes you change under options in activesync
on your pc
you can set it to pretty much any timeframe
I'm syncing OTA with Exchange, so don't use activesync on my PC. Can it still be done?
Actually.. think I just found it
On phone, went to Active Sync > Email > Options

Folks,
Recently I've had two instances of disappearing ActiveSync profiles on my Wizard. This has happened under both Core 2.0 and Crossbow Reloaded 1.5.
Basically, I put my MDA on the charger when I go to bed, and when I wake up in the morning, the Activesync profiles for Exchange and the PC are gone.
Several items that may provide a clue:
1) The handheld was powered on when I picked it up at 6:30am this morning as was displaying my Outlook email (exchange) inbox. The last email received before the Activesync profile disappeared was a 6:02am.
2) The only way to get into the inbox after that was from the Today screen since Outlook email was no longer showing up under Messaging, Select an Account.
3) I am able to create a new Exchange profile on the handheld and sync over the air, but am unable to sync with the PC.
4) I noticed recently that left hand upper panel light (the one shared with the bluetooth light) is constantly green. I could be wrong, but I believe that this is relatively new behavior.
The only way to restore the PC portion of the profile appears to be a hard reset.
Anyone seen this before, or can provide some guidance for root cause analysis before I call T-Mobile for a replacement device?
Thanks,
Jeff
Everyone,
This is a curious one,... I came back to Europe from the US on Friday morning, turned on my htc touch pro, and my email synced up fine, emails, calender, tasks, et.al., but since Friday morning, will not sync emails,...
I changed nothing, and I've checked everything, but I cannot get the damn device to sync emails again,...!
Any thoughts on this are appreciated,...
ek
Are you OTA syncing mail?
If so and you probably have checked it but i'll mention it any way as it caught me out recently, check your ActiveSync schedule settings are not set to "Manual". Mine switched to manual recently and it took me a while to work out why i wasn't receiveing mail.
thanks deedee, and yes, this is the first thing i checked and in the activesync program on the device, it's set to, 'as items arrive' so, no problem there,...
what's stranger though, is activesync is showing that i am 'connected' to ms exchange, and my calender sync's,... i can also get on the internet via gprs and ie,...
this is making me crazy, but in any case thanks for the reply,...
ek
i thought it probably was the first thing you had checked, but i posted it as much so that a new face will find it as a solution as anything else. Having only recently gone to push email it took me a while to find it the first time my email stopped being pushed.
o.k., now i am really confused, since i did this test,...
i went to my pc and put in to the 'tasks' a new task called 'test task,' waited a few minutes, and then synced the htc touch pro through activesync and my french orange sim card,... then went to 'tasks' on the htc, and the 'test task' was there,...
i then deleted it on the htc, hit 'sync' in activesync, then went to my pc, and the 'test task' was deleted,...
so, why are my tasks, calender items and contacts syncing and not my emails,...? and especially since they synced fine, once, on Friday morning,...?
and further to all this, i just dropped my sim card in to my old htc tytn II, which i have not synced since oct08, and all emails, contacts, calender and task items synced perfectly in about 2-minutes, so, not my ms exchange server,... must be the htc touch pro, a setting or something,...
thanks for your thoughts and help on this, but still not resolved,...
ek
just for info, what i had to do is delete all sync relationships and re-install them, and then re-sync,...
all is working now, but still a mystery why this happened after returning from the US,...
thanks for the reply again deedee,...

Hi all, I'm fairly experienced with the WM world (been using since WM2002) and am usually able to fix plenty of people's problems (on here and in the real world). I have run into an issue that I haven't quite been able to figure out. If it were my phone, I'd probably reflash a different rom on it (or even same one) and try it again fresh, but since it is not my phone I haven't tried it yet. Anyways, here is the issue.
My coworker has configured his phone running his provider's stock WM6.1 standard rom. He (well me, he had no idea it was possible until I showed him) is trying to connect his phone to the company's exchange server to get email on the phone. I have configured this (or instructed how to do this) for over 25 people where I work, and the only issues that I have ever run into were certificate issues. I manually pulled down the root certificate, made a cab file containing it, and installed it on his phone. This is easily verified by accessing the company's OWA site from Pocket IE. Without the certificate installed, a certificate warning appears, and with it you access without a problem (which I can do). So certificate, checked.
Now after a soft reset, it comes time to configure it. I get the email address, password, and domain in without a problem. Then the OWA address is put into the server address. Then the specific mail and calendar items are configured (such as retain last 3 days of mail, download 50KB of each message, show last 2 weeks of calendar, etc.), and finish is hit. The device successfully syncs, with no errors appearing on the screen. I even see items come down in activesync (such as syncing 82 contacts, 5 calendar events, and some emails).
I opened pocket outlook, and his inbox is empty. Odd, so I send him a test email from my AT&T Tilt (cooked WM 6.1 rom), and it arrives to his device on the next send/receive. Then, I hit send receive again on his phone and the test email disappears. I have tried changing the "retain" option for email from last 3 days to last 2 weeks, and no difference. Also the Calendar is empty. I sent him a meeting request and he accepted it, but it isn't on his mobile phone's calendar (but it is on the exchange calendar).
The only thing that I could think of is a rule to move everything to his personal folder on his laptop, but he says that he doesn't have one and moves everything over by hand. I'm thinking about swinging by his desk and confirming, but he isn't dumb and I'm sure he isn't lying about it.
I have been searching google (here and full internet google) without much luck. Thanks for any ideas to try, or else I'm gonna go soft reset his phone
Jason
Well he did tell me when he closed outlook on his work PC, everything started working right. I might try to swing by and look at his outlook afterall.
Jason
btw, if your poutlook syncs only new mails, and your server is configured to not keep messages on the server, the message might be deleted every other send/receive.
I set up my Xoom with my exchange account last week, everything was working fine or so i thought. Now im seeing that Im getting email 10-15 min after it shows up in my inbox. When I was using touchdown I would get the email on my Xoom before my computer most times. Is anyone else haveing issues like this. I prefer the stock app but I would like email to come in fast. Right now I must go into the email app and refresh it.
more info:

someone help
Self bumb. HELP IM GOING NUTS. I noticed the same issue is going on with my phone too. all other users in network with android phones are fine. just me >.< could activesync be freeking out because I have 2 devices trying to sync
Noticed a bit of a delay as well today with the stock app. My phone (Nexus one) gets mail pretty much at the same time outlook does but a 5 minute delay on the Xoom. Are you guys on Exchange 2010 or 2007? We are on 2007 currently migrating to 2010 and should be completely done with the move in a few weeks. Hoping 2010 corrects the issue.
Are you using any task killers? I am so tomorrow I am going to disable them and see if there is a change.

So no luck this morning with the default email app. Touchdown, however, worked nicely. I am actually receiving my email on the tablet before my phone now. Not the ideal solution but it works.
I have the same set up. Android phone and Xoom set up to activesync. Every once in a while, the xoom is very slow in updating. Not sure why. If anyone has any thoughts, please let us know!
I think this is an issue with Honeycomb. I have also noticed that sometimes GMail does not sync as quick as my phone does. Using the Wifi Only model btw.
Ok, after i went home last night I noticed things got better. Today while im at work everything seems ok. takes about 10 sec or so to sync to my Dinc and Xoom.
What we did to fix things:
1. logged into the mobile admin site for our active sync, I have been sync'ing virtual android systems and I had 9 different devices sync'ing everytime an email went out. so we deleted all my unused devices. ( there was 2 copies of my phone from flashing)
2. In the mobile admin site your exchange account is seen by an Alias. whith all the T/S steps I had been trying my alias in exchange got deleted. This does not prevent Active Sync from getting email to me but it does make it look a bit longer to find the right mailbox.
3. I noticed that I had many services trying to sync the same info this is bad. Touchdown was still running even after i tried to remove my account. Uninstalled it. Gmail is trying to sync books/calendar/contacts so i uncecked all ( I use exchange for everything)
4. Under running services I saw that attachment downloader was running in overdrive all the time. So in the account settings of the exchange account I unchecked " auto download attachments when on wifi." We email pdf's all the time they can get big and I saw that I would not get am email untill the entire pdf was downloaded. Also We use HTML email sigs, each sig is 3 attachments. After I made this change the attachment downloader service seemed to let up alot. if it didnt help me email issue it at least freed up some ram
Im not saying that anyone of these steps was the end solution to my problem but they all seemed to make things run a bit better.
Phone not syncing hotmail as items arrive.
I just changed my LG Optimus 7 for a Nokia Lumia 800 and Hotmail is not syncing Hotmail as items arrive even when it is configured to do so in the Windows Live configuration tab.
At the bottom of the Windows Live Configuration tab there is an option called register that is deactivated by default but I cannot find any information of what it does.
Any idea about what it does (register) or what might be my problem with hotmail?
Thanks,
Does it at least sync them automatically at some point? Or is the auto-sync broken entirely?
Obviously, automatic sync requires data connectivity, but it also goes through some different network connections than the web interface. I've seen files arrive on my PC both before and after they arrive on the phone, even when both are set to automatic sync as items arrive. The difference is usually only a few seconds though, rarely anywhere near a minute.
They often arrive several minutes after I should have received them (max 2 hours). I think that the problem might be with Hotmail itself, today I read something about people reporting issues with hotmail at wmpowerusers.
Also during lunch I went back to the LG Optimus 7 and it does have the same issue when it was working fine until I made the switch during the weekend.
Another thing that I tried with initial success was to disable the wifi and started to work for a couple of hours, now is the same as before.
Hopefully it’ll be the Hotmail issue and will be temporal. I use mail instead of SMS and it cost me a lot to get friends jump from SMS to email.
Well, it is working fine today. I think that it was a temporal problem.
