here my problem on english:
i use a long time the TNT Vanilla Rom based on wm6 at my HTC Wizard and will now flash it with Xion's wm6.1. But it doesn't work. I have a G4 which is CID unlocked.

I think i flashed my wizard with HardSPL in those days. My Problem now: i can't flash with wm 6.1. i try to flash with the orginale o2- and qtek-rom, but that doesn't work with the same error:
error[300] invalid updatetool.
A try to remove the HardSPL (what ever that means or works) like described in the following post, but don't work, too, with the same error...

I don't change every day something on my wizard, but in this days i want to update it. i read a long time, hope i recognize my problem right and could describe it.
i wouldn't have a long howto, just a little advice, if THIS is my problem (and how i could solve it) or i look in the wrong direction....at the moment i stand still

After instaling the ROM in the link:

I don't mind this being WWE instead than Spanish, but I got several problems:
Hang during install after first reboot. (after every Hard Reset)
Not all programs installed.
Not all installed programs running.
Some other minor glitches.
I moved from 2.15 ESP Rom (Vodafone) wich I was unable to extract.
Does anyone knows were to find my "old" rom?
I downloaded 2.13 from imateclub but refuses to install: "this nbf file is not for your device, get a newer one".
Help! please.
First, is your CID unlock?
Second, your device have a G4 chip, so you can not be able to install an older version, I mean, If you have a 2.15.0001 you can not be able to install a Rom for a Sapnish Qtek 2.09.0000 or like JAMin by i-mate 2.13.0000.
About where you can find your original rom, I invite you to find it on XDA-Wiki, after you log in under your nick or make a Dump Rom from other device like yours.

I'm unsure if this is CID unlocked, it is SIM unlocked now, will check for the CID issue. Though I assume that being able to install other 2.15 rom (dopòd) means it is already CID unlocked too....¿?
I was afraid the "downgrading" has to be done in the same version range. (2.15)

The wiki site is a real mess actually, with no trace of usefull info specific for the prophet. (Sorry to say) Just a couple of ROM's some not working.
No one with a 2.15 ESN rom to share?

I am not a really experienced user in ROM upgrading, IPLs, SPLs, and the works. I have read a LOT about these subjects and i still don't understand a few things. Nevertheless i tried.
I own a G4 CID-Locked Prophet (QTEK S200) as described in the title and i tried upgrading to WM6 "just to see" what the hell would it do.
Before trying this WM6 upgrade i tried yet another thing which is kinda risky and actually turned this same S200 into a brick temporarily. I used the known shelltool_bugfixed application to upgrade to AKU 3.3.13 (extract OS from a complete ROM, then replace the OS file with the AKU 3.3.13 one) and it worked. I tried doing the same with clean1 V2 ROM and it bricked it.
I reflashed the Prophet with an original ROM using the novendor-id RUU, thinking it would never bring it to life, but it did. Also upgraded my SPL to 2.13.0001.
Then i tried upgading to clean1 V2 WM6 rom again (Jesus, stubborn guy) just by simply decompressing the files and running "UPGRADE_ROM.BAT". And it worked.
I was REALLY surprised because i read over and over again about this and i had the idea WM6 needed some special IPL and/or SPL and that my device had to be CID-Unlocked before the upgrade.
These are just a few events of yesterday and today with my Prophet which i wanted to share with you. I still find it unbelievable but here i am, running WM6 and happy as hell with it. WM6 really looks awesome and works a treat

If you dont write IPL/SPL without the right CID, you cant use all WM6 Firmwares ;-)
So you mean IPL and SPL are directly related to CID-Locks?
I wish i could understand that, it would help me figure out what i can use on my CID-Locked Prophet and what i can't... before i brick it for good
As i said above, when i "brought it back to life" with an original JamIN rom, it upgraded the SPL to 2.13.0001 (it was 2.10.0001 previously).

Don't know what your are talking about but all wm6 in this forum gave me no problems when i flashed them. Mine is CID locked G4 from ORANGE. So just try. There are lots of alternatives. All working more or less... Find the one better suits your prophet.
Read what i said in the first post. I know it's a bit confusing, but it says there i have successfully flashed my S200 with WM6 (smart1 V2 ROM).
I was just surprised because with all the spread information around WM6, i thought i needed to downgrade to some "special" IPL/SPL version or that i couldn't flash just because my G4 is CID-Locked.
After all, i can just flash about anything without bricking my S200. The only thing i think would brick it is if i downgraded (somehow) the IPL/SPL. Am i correct?

but you can upgrade and downgrade OS
what I really confused about it, what is the relation between IPL&SPL and OS
as I understand, some OS need newer IPL & SPL

as I noticed, there isn't any relation between IPL/SPL and OS
and upgrading SPL doesn't take any profits

Faria's "The Real Thing" has everything you would want/need... Perfect if you don't want to have to add anything yourself...
On the other hand, Core2.0n is pretty stripped, but it's nice if you just need the basics and want to add your own progs...

Make sure you are CID unlocked prior to attempting to install a custom rom. See the stickies in the Upgrading, Etc. wizard forum.
There are several WM 6 roms available in these forums that will run on your wizard, but make sure you know and understand what you are doing before you start the flash process.
I have tried the faria (real thing) but at 99% stucks with error 302.
Then i try to build my own rom but when i am on the stage of selecting the os and put some addresses i am lost.
Can anyone help ?
My imate kjam is original and unlocked.
my ipl spl is 2.16
my gsm is 02.07.10
and my os is 2.16.9.1.

Im trying to figure out the best way to upgrade to wm6. Some topics say to unlock CID but with a G4 you must pay for it. Other topic say use hard spl or soft spl is this also for CID unlocking?? I dont know annymore so can someone help me?? The steps I need to make to install wm6 on my device.
And for the best wm6 rom on htc wizard aka mda vario.

i am running tnt 1933 which seems to be for me at least the best all round rom. and its as stable if not more than stock wm5
i used soft spl.
you should read the instructions fully and make sure you are happy before proceding.
I recommend.
1) Hard reset
2) hook up to pc and run wizard service tool (search the forum) and use this to enable rapi and cert etc.
then run the soft spl.
I had problems first couple of times where it would go black then i get funny error in green text but never actually flashed anything. But i think the hard reset and enable rapi stuff fixed that.
hope thats of some use.

if you want to save yourself an absolute tonne of mucking about and trying to figure everything out, i recommend you splash the cash and pay the £20 on http://www.imei-check.co.uk/

the above recomendation are good , in fact that's what i have done to update my G4. I would only add to that rembember to save your current rom and extended rom before update. so you may downgrade if you have any problem with wm6.

I would like to flash it to use a WM6.1 ROM with the touchflo type functionality and new IE Mobile features (i.e. zooming).
I have read through all the guides about carrying this out and have even started having a go but am getting confused about HardSPL.
From what I read HardSPL CID Unlocks your phone so that you can install a diffeerent Carrier (e.g. Orange, Vodaphone) ROM ... or in fact a home 'cooked' ROM off of this site.
I have tried manually carrying out the HardSPL using both the Prophet Tools GUI and the command line batch file HardSPL however after the procedure finishes my IPL and SPL do not read differently as all posts indicate (i.e. they do not read 2.G4.4PDA) ... instead they remain as 2.10.0001.
I have seen the phone go to the tri-colour bootloader screen and even the progress bar go up correctly however when it reboots it says 2.10.0001. I'm assuming that I cannot go ahead and flash with a ROM (such as the Shadow TE one until the SPL reads 2.G4.4PDA).
Can anyone offere me some help with getting to this?

I would recommend you use something like: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353547 It makes it a one stop upgrade... That uses "JumpSPL" rather than HardSPL which is the short term option.
Thanks for the help I tried the alternative lazy tool and it worked (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2141436&postcount=188) now my Orange SPV M600 has the Shadow Touch edition rom on it with the shadow cube addon, so far works a treat.
I would still be interested to know why the SPL version number did not change using the prophet tools or HardSPL on its own.

What is your devices IPL?
It may be because Soft/Jump SPL was not executed properly prior to HardSPL (this is automated through the HardSPL tools and Prophet Tools).

i ran upgrade_hardspl_g4 on my prophet, my spl is 2.15 still... what should i do l3v5y? tried flashing it 5 times still no luck. Please help, having a hard time upgrading roms...

im currently downloading prophet tools 2.8. i currently flashed my 818 with PV_temp rom. i'll try to install the prophet tools and hardspl my phone with it.. hope it works...will update in a few after the installation is done... downloading so slow... =(
