How can I fix "Wrong vendor ID" at Qtek S200?

I tried to flash the Qtek S200 with the ROM which I found at
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/S200/. But the software said "Wrong vendor ID". CID unlocking way which is used at a Wizard does't work. ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe does't work also. How can I solve this problem?

I have had the same issues with my dopod 818 pro..Couldn't flash, always received vendor ID error.
The only way I was able to flash my device to a newer rom was by using JAFWM, which is an aftermarket flashing tool created by Odeon. The device costs about 50usd. With JAFWM I was able to easily flash my prophet to a newer QTEK and Jamin rom, without to much hassle. Note: I still had to use awizard to unlock the CID.

I have followed the following thread , download the Romupdateutility.exe and managed to upgrade my Dopod 818 pro ROM to I-mate without vendor error.

?s about rom updates changing from qtek rom to imate
Could someone please tell me were i could get the programs that i see you guys talking about. I have the qtek s200 and want to intall the imate jamin rom. When i click on the ftp links it does'nt work. Is there something speacial i have to do to get to the ftp site? Could i get someone to email me the stuff i need to do it?

i still cant get the romupdate program to work, just keeps saying check your update utility. i have downloaded from a few sites same thing. The program also says smartphone?????

I read the entire post. It is NOT a CID unlock, basically the guy just ran aWizard and ignored the error of CID unlock error. The screen says CID unlock success, but it doesnt really unlock CID. rest explains what roms he used to update his O2 xda. Mostly are in Simplified Chinese ROM. Nothing special or new in that post. Search is still on.

If you want to install a new ROM then there is no need to unlock CID. This procedure explains a method for updating all components except IPL/SPL on a Wizard. The same procedure and the same tools in the document can be used on a Prophet.
Pay attention to the warnings on the first page though. The procedure is not trivial so make sure you know what you are doing before you actually do it!

Yep! Works well, as long as you try AKU2.x or better for the OS module. It didn't work with i-mate's old 1.2 ROM for JAMin but that just confirms what the article says. Everything else I've tried so far worked.

I can confirm!
I have used the procedure tonight and all worked perfectly!
Enough simple and with no unpgrading problems!
Now I have Italian rom on my device!

Do the settings remain the same as k-jam (ex. OS start address 80040000, HTC logo ?

Yes that rom and the configuration is the SAME of K-Jam (i had a 02 Mini S before thiefed :-(( )

in other words can i "down"date my rom from 2.15 to 2.13?

Probably I made something wrong, my device is DEAD!!! I have been severals hours to fix it but no way.
Now I can see the device in boot loader mode (3 colors)

How can I recover the installation?

You have missmatch in IPL and SPL version.
Your IPL is corresponding to DOC G3, but SPL DOC G4.
This should not be the case. What was your original DOC?
Do you have USB connection when in rainbow screen?

No, I don't have a USB connection. Tonight I was thinking and I going to try to put the ROM stop at bootloader. Let me try it now. As soon as I have some news I'll post it. Thanks!

I just finish to download the Dopod 818 Pro Rom stop at bootloader fix but now the problem is getting biger, I mean, the battery is empty, so I can not charge the device with the USB or AC cable. I have to find a battery to try with this Rom. Or go to the technical support and try to fix it.
The screen is on and of by it self efvery couple minutes (just for a while)

Finally I got a charged battery from my brothyer and I started to download the mentioned rom, but at 80% stop, I get an error message.
ERROR 326 Invalid Command. This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA Phoen. Please check your NBF.
How could I do? Suggestions???

I made a call phone to the service mantenience and I have a date to try to fix it. I'm affraid they are going to tell me something I don't like to heard, but...
Now I'm going to start a new life without my Prophet for a few days, or at least, hope so.

Reverting AKU 2.3 ¿Upgrade? Spanish ROM RQ

After instaling the ROM in the link:
Prophet AKU2.3 pdamobiz customized rom [G4 with SPL 2.15.0001]
I don't mind this being WWE instead than Spanish, but I got several problems:
Hang during install after first reboot. (after every Hard Reset)
Not all programs installed.
Not all installed programs running.
Some other minor glitches.
I moved from 2.15 ESP Rom (Vodafone) wich I was unable to extract.
Does anyone knows were to find my "old" rom?
I downloaded 2.13 from imateclub but refuses to install: "this nbf file is not for your device, get a newer one".
Help! please.

First, is your CID unlock?
Second, your device have a G4 chip, so you can not be able to install an older version, I mean, If you have a 2.15.0001 you can not be able to install a Rom for a Sapnish Qtek 2.09.0000 or like JAMin by i-mate 2.13.0000.
About where you can find your original rom, I invite you to find it on XDA-Wiki, after you log in under your nick or make a Dump Rom from other device like yours.

I'm unsure if this is CID unlocked, it is SIM unlocked now, will check for the CID issue. Though I assume that being able to install other 2.15 rom (dopòd) means it is already CID unlocked too....¿?
I was afraid the "downgrading" has to be done in the same version range. (2.15)
Thanks again for the wiki proposal, will go there.

The wiki site is a real mess actually, with no trace of usefull info specific for the prophet. (Sorry to say) Just a couple of ROM's some not working.
No one with a 2.15 ESN rom to share?

WM6 on G4 CID-Locked Prophet

Hello,
I am not a really experienced user in ROM upgrading, IPLs, SPLs, and the works. I have read a LOT about these subjects and i still don't understand a few things. Nevertheless i tried.
I own a G4 CID-Locked Prophet (QTEK S200) as described in the title and i tried upgrading to WM6 "just to see" what the hell would it do.
Before trying this WM6 upgrade i tried yet another thing which is kinda risky and actually turned this same S200 into a brick temporarily. I used the known shelltool_bugfixed application to upgrade to AKU 3.3.13 (extract OS from a complete ROM, then replace the OS file with the AKU 3.3.13 one) and it worked. I tried doing the same with clean1 V2 ROM and it bricked it.
I reflashed the Prophet with an original ROM using the novendor-id RUU, thinking it would never bring it to life, but it did. Also upgraded my SPL to 2.13.0001.
Then i tried upgading to clean1 V2 WM6 rom again (Jesus, stubborn guy) just by simply decompressing the files and running "UPGRADE_ROM.BAT". And it worked.
I was REALLY surprised because i read over and over again about this and i had the idea WM6 needed some special IPL and/or SPL and that my device had to be CID-Unlocked before the upgrade.
These are just a few events of yesterday and today with my Prophet which i wanted to share with you. I still find it unbelievable but here i am, running WM6 and happy as hell with it. WM6 really looks awesome and works a treat

If you dont write IPL/SPL without the right CID, you cant use all WM6 Firmwares ;-)

I wish i could understand that, it would help me figure out what i can use on my CID-Locked Prophet and what i can't... before i brick it for good

Don't know what your are talking about but all wm6 in this forum gave me no problems when i flashed them. Mine is CID locked G4 from ORANGE. So just try. There are lots of alternatives. All working more or less... Find the one better suits your prophet.

Read what i said in the first post. I know it's a bit confusing, but it says there i have successfully flashed my S200 with WM6 (smart1 V2 ROM).
I was just surprised because with all the spread information around WM6, i thought i needed to downgrade to some "special" IPL/SPL version or that i couldn't flash just because my G4 is CID-Locked.
After all, i can just flash about anything without bricking my S200. The only thing i think would brick it is if i downgraded (somehow) the IPL/SPL. Am i correct?

you can only upgrade IPL & SPL
but you can upgrade and downgrade OS
what I really confused about it, what is the relation between IPL&SPL and OS
as I understand, some OS need newer IPL & SPL

as I noticed, there isn't any relation between IPL/SPL and OS
and upgrading SPL doesn't take any profits

Flash another WM6 rom

Hy!
I have my mda vario flashed with wm6, and works ok. But now, I want another version of wm6 rom on my mda vario. My ipl/spl is 3.08.
Question:
Can I just flash it now with another wm6 rom, or I must first downgrade my ipl/spl? Or is there something else what I have to do before flashing my mda vario with another wm6 rom.

always go through the forum and read before posting and starting any thread,this question has been asked and answered 100 of times,if you wud have cared to search read,you must have found your answer,there was no need to start a new thread for this.
As you have already upgraded to wm6 rom and you know the whole method,why than put this question,yes you can upgrade to any wm6 rom.it doesn't matter if you have ipl/spl 3.08,it's just a bootloader upgrade.New roms are cooked without containing any ipl/spl,therefore they do not change any ipl/spl,so any new latest wm6 rom can be flashed,as your device is already cid unlocked and will remain unlocked,good luck

if you are already running wm6, then read the reviews of the other roms and flash away, now choose the rom that would suit you best

You may find it beneficial to back down to one of the official ROMs first though (T-Mo 2.26 US is usually used), to avoid ExtROM corruption. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1579787&postcount=2 for possible ill effects on battery life if you do not.
