Is my phone cid locked?

How can I tell if my phone is cid-locked, I would really like to change the ROM without the risk of bricking it. Has anyone one tried lokiwiz to cidunlock their phone? any advice would be appreciated. BTW I bought the phone from gray market in Hong Kong and is Vodafone branded, do you think it would be locked?
It came preloaded with Dopod Rom, but I don't like it that much. Also what is the best radio rom, the dopod radio rom is a bit weak.

you are on G4, so yes you are still CID locked.
Normally when you flash your rom you will know imediately when it try to update.

so should I try to flash a rom and see what happens? if it goes through without an error it is cid unlocked? if an error pops up it is locked? Should I try this or should I avoid the risks? Any ROM suggestions? Qtek maybe?

Since your phone is G4 chip, i'm pretty sure you are CID locked. Dont worry about the CID locking for now, GOOD ROMS outthere been using different programs to get around CID locking problem. I suggest you can start with PDAMobiz rom from the other thread. REMEMBER USE G4 program not G3 or other programs. or look for any rom that has NoVender CID in the name.

MDA VARIO II with Dopod WM6
I recently bought Tmobile MDA Vario ii with Dopod Wm6. When it boots it shows dopod sign so I think it is dopod. The ROM is 3.54.707.3.
I want to upgrade to Wm6.1 but Tmobile has only official 3.60.xx rom presently available for download. Can I directly flash any Hermis compatible ROM on MDA Vario II.?
Since it has Dopod WM6 the CID lock must have been diabled I suppose. Am I right? and should I directly flash any HERMIS official or extended ROM? what are your suggestions Thanks

I don't know enough about the Hermes and flashing to be certain, but I think you'll need to HardSPL (which bypasses bootloader CID checks) before flashing a ROM.
Take a look at the Hermes sub fora before doing anything though...

WM6 on G4 CID-Locked Prophet

I am not a really experienced user in ROM upgrading, IPLs, SPLs, and the works. I have read a LOT about these subjects and i still don't understand a few things. Nevertheless i tried.
I own a G4 CID-Locked Prophet (QTEK S200) as described in the title and i tried upgrading to WM6 "just to see" what the hell would it do.
Before trying this WM6 upgrade i tried yet another thing which is kinda risky and actually turned this same S200 into a brick temporarily. I used the known shelltool_bugfixed application to upgrade to AKU 3.3.13 (extract OS from a complete ROM, then replace the OS file with the AKU 3.3.13 one) and it worked. I tried doing the same with clean1 V2 ROM and it bricked it.
I reflashed the Prophet with an original ROM using the novendor-id RUU, thinking it would never bring it to life, but it did. Also upgraded my SPL to 2.13.0001.
Then i tried upgading to clean1 V2 WM6 rom again (Jesus, stubborn guy) just by simply decompressing the files and running "UPGRADE_ROM.BAT". And it worked.
I was REALLY surprised because i read over and over again about this and i had the idea WM6 needed some special IPL and/or SPL and that my device had to be CID-Unlocked before the upgrade.
These are just a few events of yesterday and today with my Prophet which i wanted to share with you. I still find it unbelievable but here i am, running WM6 and happy as hell with it. WM6 really looks awesome and works a treat

If you dont write IPL/SPL without the right CID, you cant use all WM6 Firmwares ;-)

I wish i could understand that, it would help me figure out what i can use on my CID-Locked Prophet and what i can't... before i brick it for good
As i said above, when i "brought it back to life" with an original JamIN rom, it upgraded the SPL to 2.13.0001 (it was 2.10.0001 previously).

Don't know what your are talking about but all wm6 in this forum gave me no problems when i flashed them. Mine is CID locked G4 from ORANGE. So just try. There are lots of alternatives. All working more or less... Find the one better suits your prophet.

Read what i said in the first post. I know it's a bit confusing, but it says there i have successfully flashed my S200 with WM6 (smart1 V2 ROM).
I was just surprised because with all the spread information around WM6, i thought i needed to downgrade to some "special" IPL/SPL version or that i couldn't flash just because my G4 is CID-Locked.
After all, i can just flash about anything without bricking my S200. The only thing i think would brick it is if i downgraded (somehow) the IPL/SPL. Am i correct?

you can only upgrade IPL & SPL
but you can upgrade and downgrade OS
what I really confused about it, what is the relation between IPL&SPL and OS
as I understand, some OS need newer IPL & SPL
can any one correct me

as I noticed, there isn't any relation between IPL/SPL and OS
and upgrading SPL doesn't take any profits

I would like to ask you if there is a complete wm6 ready firmware so i can download it and install it on my device.

Faria's "The Real Thing" has everything you would want/need... Perfect if you don't want to have to add anything yourself...
On the other hand, Core2.0n is pretty stripped, but it's nice if you just need the basics and want to add your own progs...

Make sure you are CID unlocked prior to attempting to install a custom rom. See the stickies in the Upgrading, Etc. wizard forum.
There are several WM 6 roms available in these forums that will run on your wizard, but make sure you know and understand what you are doing before you start the flash process.

I have tried the faria (real thing) but at 99% stucks with error 302.
Then i try to build my own rom but when i am on the stage of selecting the os and put some addresses i am lost.
Can anyone help ?
My imate kjam is original and unlocked.
my ipl spl is 2.16
my gsm is 02.07.10
and my os is 2.16.9.1.

Trouble with new mda

so I lost my tricked out mda and got a new one from my insurance and I've beeen trying to upgrade to wm6 and I've been having so many problems. I downgraded to the love rom and tried to cid unlock it and when I try using my cooked roms they don't seem to install because the love splash keeps showing up and its still running wm5. I don't know if I'm even cooking the roms correctly because it been a while since I cooked a rom and the kitchen was not working properly and I even downloaded a new kitchen. I even tried installing a premade rom and it still it boots up as the love rom. my ipl is 1.26 and the spl is 2.26. can someone please help.

did you succeed in cid unlocking the wizard ? Because i had the same issue and, after unlocking my pda properly, all worked fine. u could also try to install a t-mobile wm5 official rom.

I think I cid unlocked it, I ran lokiwiz and when I try to run it again it say theres an error.

T-Mobile Germany original ROM incl. Radio SPL and so on (badly needed)

my mda vario III (HTC Kaiser) is an waranty case and i badly need the original rom incl all, this one in the forum is only the OS without radio spl and so on.

I also needed it, bust just installed the OS and a working Radio.
T-Mobile does not even care what is installed, i guess they don't even startup the device but send it straight back to HTC. I switched about 20 T-Mobile HTC Devices and it worked everytime to just install the OS and a working Radio.

If you know the Radio and OEM SPL version you can probably get them from this site somewhere. They dont have to be extracted from the Dumped Shipped ROM.

Ah, Just have to see if anyone knows the OEM SPL and Radio versions.
Does it have to be WM6 or Wm6.1 Versoin, or are you not bothered. I don't think anyone will care so long as it is a T Mob stock version.
