Error when trying to connect to internet "The answering modem has disconnected"
Whenever I try to do anything that involves connecting to the internet I get the error message "The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap settings," and underneath that pops up the message, "There is a problem connecting to the GPRS service in your registered home network." It seems to have happened randomly, as I haven't done anything to my phone since flashing Da_G's clean rom a week and a half ago. I thought it might have been maybe just the network in my area, but everyone else gets 3g internet just fine. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

Didn't work. I even tried a hard reset and still the same thing.

Did you have your Internet connection working after flashing Da_G's ROM? If you did, and then suddenly without any warning (and without you changing settings) it stopped working, and you're sure that others that have the same provider as you have their Internet connection working, then it's possible that your provider screwed something up. In that case, you should give them a call.

Actually now that you mention it, I'm on an employee plan through Best Buy Mobile, and they're redoing the data plans and making them cheaper, so they may have taken the original one off for the time being and will hopefully put the new one back on soon? I'm hoping so anyway. Thanks guys.

Did you try to turn flight mode on and off?
The few times I had this message doing that resolved the problem.

tmobile uk email issues

Ok 2 days ago I started to have a problems with email on my kaiser, it just displays error synchronizing and thats it, opera, ie, weather works fine on gprs, 3g and hsdpa but email simply doesnt work...
I've rechecked settings 10 times, soft reseted 10 times and nothing...
its runing l26 rom but I don't think it matters because it was working fine for a long time before and just suddenly stopped. the only thing that has changed that morning is that I tried Android on it but it shouldn't affect anything after soft reset, am i right?
any ideas?
in account set-up go to "advanced server settings" and make sure "network connection" is set to T-Mobile internet instead of "the internet".
any good?
no luck, one account was set as internet, other as tmobile internet and none worked, changed both to tmobile internet but still no joy...
strangest thing is that if i turn on wifi it works instantly, just over gprs... could tmobile restrict pop/smtp/imap traffic on my account? but on the other hand if that would be the case i think it would even try to connect and time out but now it just displays error instantly when i select send/receive....
have you tried changing settings to t-mob internet and then soft reset??
it sounds like the exact problem i had setting up my new diamond and that was the culprit.
does the "error syncronising" come up as soon as you send/recieve? or does it try to connect first?
yes, i have done soft reset after changing settings. error synchronising comes up as soon as i press send receive, and then second later popup baloon msg that cannot connect with these settings, please review settings and try again....
ultimately if i cannot get this to work before next week I'll slam new rom on it and see if it works...
all i can suggest is to delete accounts and start again?
Not to rub it in but ive just done a send/recieve on mine using t-mob internet and its working fine so at least you know its a handset problem!!
thanks for a little brain storming... i did add one new account from scratch before posting here and it hasn't solved the problem.
i think it must be a software glitch... i planned to update to a newer rom anyway so I'll just do it next week...
Gosh, Ihope it won't happen to me..
just a follow up to this problem, yesterday, for no apparent reason my emails started working again, I woke up in the morning, quick look at my mobile and hey presto! 17 unread emails... very bizzare... maybe tmobile had some networking issues locally but I'll never know...

"Cannot Connect" when I'm not trying to

Okay, no idea what's going on with my phone here. Whenever I connect to the internet through any application, HTC weather, Opera, streaming radio, not a problem. It connects without issue. However, sometimes I get this message on my screen: http://www.flickr.com/photos/clewis4u91/3737272578/
I have no idea why this comes up. I have no problems connecting! I have automatic weather updates off, Windows Update set to manually check (however it stopped working a month ago anyways), QuickGPS isn't set to automatic either, as well as my email. Something is trying to connect at some point, but isn't able to.
Normally it wouldn't be a big deal for me, however here's why it's bothering me. This has happened TWICE so far in the past week, disconnecting phone calls. This seems to be happening randomly. I was on a phone call, and I didn't hear anyone talking so I looked at the screen, and that message was displayed. The next day, the same thing happened while on a phone call, to a completely different phone number. Soft reset does not solve the issue.
I have done absolutely no changes to my device or it's settings. I can connect to the internet whenever I want, so the connection settings have to be okay? Doing a quick Google search basically showed me that the people getting the same error, were unable to connect altogether, which is not the case for me. I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks.
Sorry, I left out some phone information. I'm running on a Bell (CDMA) HTC Touch Diamond on Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 using stock ROM.

Unique NRG ROM problem

I'm not sure where to post a serious problem I'm having with this ROM (mods feel free to move to where this might get the most attention). Anyhow, here goes.
I have a Verizon TP2
I'm using (or rather TRYING to use) Energy.RHOD500.23541.Sense2.5_with_MaxManila.Feb.2 6.7z
Here's my symptom:
When Data and Activesync are enabled on the phone, I can no longer dial out. I get "The Network is Busy, Please Try Again Later".
If I do not enable activesync, I can use the data and place calls fine. Once I've enabled activesync, I cannot use the phone for outbound calls until I reflash the phone. No amount of turning off the data connection and rebooting, hard resetting, etc will allow me to make calls. I should say, that for a SHORT (like MAYBE 10 minutes) after I enable activesync, I can dial out and sync the phone.
I can receive calls fine. It's like the dialer cannot properly interrupt the data connection to make the call.
Maybe unrelated, but going to wireless controls > 3G >and trying to select a band results in the error "You have an ongoing voice call and the band cannot be changed now. Please try again later". I should note that in the "Network type" there is NOTHING selected (not even auto). I can force WCDMA and then back to auto by going into airplane mode. It does not resolve my dial-out problem.
So far, to try and resolve this, I've:
Reflashed and reprovisioned.
Hard reset and reprovisioned.
Reinstalled the base ROM, reprovisioned, reinstalled Energy.RHOD500.23541.Sense2.5_with_MaxManila.Feb.2 6.7z and reprovisioned
Reflashed, reprovisioned and tried the MRX_Verizon cab
Asked the phone what it's problem is
Cursed at the phone.
As you can see, I'm nearing wit's end.
If there's any input anyone can give me, I'd really appreciate it. I'd love to be able to call people AND use this ROM. I feel like I should create a new thread for this, but I don't know where would be best without it being ignored.
I've duplicated this post on ppcgeeks int he NRG thread to see if anyone can help point me in the right direction.
No point in creating new threads for issues with a particular ROM. As in the ROM thread, where other ROM users might be able to guide you.

"Answering modem has disconnected" problem. Help?

Hey, so the other day my phone stopped getting reception of any kind. No phone calls or data connection, I just have the No Service symbol in the task bar. When I try to enable a data connection in Comm Manager, I get an error that says, "Dialed: The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings." I really don't know what I would do in Settings, if anything needs to be done. I have taken my phone all around the city, and it still says no service. It has been like this for a couple days now, so I doubt that T-Mobile is having a massive outage in my area (Pittsburgh). Does anyone know anything I could do? I've tried many soft resets, a couple hard resets, flashing different ROMs, and flashing different radios. I also checked my payment info and I'm not late for a payment or anything. So any help?

[Q] "No Network Connect" even though connected

Lately, I have been getting the "No Network Connection" popup when I open my browser. The weird thing is that I am connected and when I close the popup, it connects fine anyway.
Any thoughts?
Bump up. Still having this issue.
I've been having this from the second or third week of ownership. I think it is losing the APN settings and I think I read something about it here on xda, but can't find it now.
The work around I use is to put the phone in airplane mode and then take it right back out. Seems to reset things and is much quicker than rebooting the phone.
