Hi all,
I've searched the forum but couldn't really get the info I'm after. I purchased my Touch Pro (TP) from Singapore & have since flashed it with the Hut3 ROM update. Many thanks to gentleman who posted it as I wasn't able to download it from HTC Australia because my serial number did not match HTC's requirement (that REALLY sucks). I can CATEGORICALLY state the Hut3 ROM has fixed the rebooting during phone call & roaming &/or simultaneous data push/pull.
This new ROM gives me a selection of GSM (1900+850) + UMTS(1900+85) when I select this band option I'm unable to detect any networks. The only option that works is auto or GSM(900+1800) + UMTS(2100).
Does the TP support 850? Or are there different hardware versions? If so can it be modified to work at 850?

Hi
I just bought a second hand unlocked HD2
I am on Orange. The phone will pick up 3G but I need to sync with Exchange. At work we have our own APN options. So , I have go into the connection tab but from some reason , there is no Cellular 3G,GPRS option, only GPRS. The phone does sync, but I don't think I am getting a 3G connection
With my previous phone Diamond 2, when I did the same thing, the 3G was an option
Am I missing something?
Which version of HD2 did you buy? Did you even check if your HD2 3g bandwidth is compatible with orange?
Not sure I understand your question , but I believe I have a
HD2 T8585
Did you even check if your HD2 3g bandwidth is compatible with orange?
Others at work, have a HD2, so it will work on 3G. I was unaware that there was different types of HD2!!
as long as your basically anywhere but america the 8585 should work (dont quote me on this, obviously there are others) ie uk, europe, south africa should work. I believe australia has their own band specific version as well...
id suggest you go to the rom site, install an original rom, and see if it works afer you run an auto configure in the network settings.
Alternatively, try flashing a new radio rom and see if it works. the 2.07.50 works well for me in SA. some others also only give me EDGE.
I don't know how you have it in your country, but here in Denmark the providers have downloadable 3G settings to their networks that we have to pull down to get it to work...
Unless of course we set it up manually.
Maybe you haven't gotten the setup from Orange?
Hey there, you should check your band settings:
Go to settings > connections > network advanced > in the first tab you can choose "off" or "only HSDPA" or "HSDPA/HSUPA". click on the last option for 3G band.
My former devices (X1i and Hermes) you had band-settings for GSM or 3G but on the HD2 i cannot find it, so this option is changed in WM6.5 i guess.
Hi everyone,
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 (16gb) in Singapore and was using it fine on Singtel's network (signed a contract with them). Now I have moved back to Canada and brought my phone with me assuming that all would be ok to use it with the network here. However I'm having big problems with this one network I just signed up with (Virgin Mobile).
85% of the time I cannot connect to it: voice calls and SMSing won't work nor will the data work on it, the only thing it says is "Emergency calls only". Then at other times everything will seem to connect and work fine - I can make calls and use data.
Virgin Mobile will not support me much because they're thinking it's the phone's problem, if I use the phone they gave me (a lower-end model) it works fine.
Here are some details of my phone:
Firmware version
2 2
Baseband version
I9000DXJPA
Kernel version
2 6 32 9
root (at) SE-S604 #1
Build number
FROYO DXJPA
If I check out the status, it usually says this:
Network
Unknown (switches to VIRGIN when it does work)
Mobile network type
UMTS (switches between that and HSDPA and GPRS)
Service state
Out of service
Mobile network state
Disconnected (switches to connected when working, and even when it's not working sometimes)
I have Network mode set to auto mode (GSM/WCDMA). I've tried to switch it to GSM only but that didn't seem to change anything.
I'm wondering if there's some kind of configuration settings I still need to do with the phone? I'm also wondering if it is the network I'm with right now? Virgin Mobile isn't one of the bigger telcom companies here and I'm thinking that if I switch to one of the bigger telcoms, will it work better?
Something else to add - before I signed up with Virgin I was using my phone with a pre-paid service (called Chatr) for voice only and it was working fine.
I'm sure this phone can support the GSM frequencies here.. can't it?
I also still have the Singtel customizations on the phone. Will it help if I remove it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a lot!
Ryan
sorry, wrong category..
Hi All,
A few weeks ago I bought the Euro Xoom 3g and of course try to use the internet.
Problem in short:
The Vodafone Sim i use does not work with 3g on the Xoom. It borrowed the sim from my HTC Legend ( on which 3g works perfectly ).
More info:
APN settings i used are:
- Same on Legend (with CW7)
- Original Xoom (NL Vodafone)
- The settings received from Vodafone themselves.
Same symptoms in Rooted and unrooted Xoom
Model MZ601 Build:H.6.1-38-1
GSM network is functional ( even get text messages about missed calls )
Attached is a logcat from the radio while the xoom tries to connect, with a few things i noticed ( but do not really understand ) mentioned below:
GPRS CSS not supported / UMTS CSS not supported
[0388]< REQUEST_GET_NEIGHBORING_CELL_IDS error: com.android.internal.telephony.CommandException: REQUEST_NOT_SUPPORTED
Things i read from other forums ( like tweakers.net ) are:
Update 12jun, other provider sim i lent (kpn) worked like a charm.
- Users with other providers (KPN/T-Mobile) do not get such issues.
- Some users (and i ) call/visit Vodafone but only get the "Is the APN set up correctly" without any luck reconfiguring.
- The neighbouring cell message could relate to incorrect programming ( read in custom rom forum topics )
Can any help help me to analyze what is going wrong, if this is something fixable in the software or anything else?
Thanks in advance and for reading upto this part of the message.
Help!

Was this ever fixed? I've got a Motorola Xoom (picked it up on clearance for cheap!) and I live in Australia. Optus, Crazy Johns, Boost, Vodafone etc ALL work fine with the correct APNs and do at least detect the network, whereas Virgin (the sim I'm using) does not.
I know the sim works, as I've tried it in other devices (android AND iOS) with the same APN settings, and I know the device works (on other networks) so it's not locked...
I'm at my wits end here!

That looks like a solution... I'll try that if the Motorola guys haven't heard of the issue before and don't have a solution (I've got a couple of reps looking into it, should know by tomorrow)
Cheers!
Hello,
I got Motorola MOTO G X1034 (on the battery when connected to PC it says X1032) form the USA - here is the offer: http://www.sears.com/consumer-cellu...martphone-black/p-00333272000P?adCell=REC_1_0
It was locked to Consumer Cellular - an AT&T company and I was able to unlock it with unlock code.
But when I try to use it in my country Bulgaria with my carrier Mtel the mobile Internet is only connected on EDGE and not on 3G or UMTS.
Anyone knows why is this happening and how to fix it. Can I flash some European radio or something ?
P.S. So far a was able to unlock bootloader - flash custom recovery and root the phone.
so nobody knows anything about this ?!?!?!
ok another question - I saw that there is a secret menu (*#*#4636#*#*) that allows you to change default network from 2G to 3G and vice versa, but in my phone this menu is missing (disabled from the provider I guess).
So my question is if I flash some other ROM will the menu appear ?
thanks
Which bands does your carrier use?
My guess is your carrier uses different bands then the phone has, or all that exists is a 2G band in your area which you would want to check with your carrier.
yes I think this is the problem my carrier uses 2100 mhz for UMTS but the phone is not supporting it - is there a way to flash new radio or to enable this frequency ?
Hi everyone.
Last time i was in xda forums was when i try to mod my windows mobile CE 5.0 lol
This is my sad story:
I bought in the US a samsung s7 with T-Mobile SM-G930T, i paid a guy who 'unlocked' it in there. After that i brought it to Colombia, in here i run the T-mobile unlock app which succeded and erased itself after that. Then the cellphone started working with all the mobile companies in my country except for one that operates over 1800 mhz, other companies do work fine. When i insert a simcard of this company it just says that 'Not registered in network' and wont do nothing. I already tried to put the APN settings correctly (Actually it automatically loaded every company settings detected).
After that i tried to root with a modded Odin with a custom ROM and it succeeded and i got the SuperSU application, tho the cellphone its a little laggy now, but neither that way it worked. Anyone knows how where should i start looking?
I went to this company support and they sent me to Samsung support, which redirected me back to this company, lol
Thanks in advance guys

Hi,
It seems your phone is region locked due to which you are locked onto a particular mhz network frequency...
yes the first step would be to try to a custom rom to see if this over rides this situation or you could try below situation below... this is ideally for s6.... or atlast google search...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6/general/enabling-using-servicemode-t3109579
Ok, since now we have root, many users wanted to know if they can lock onto certain LTE frequency bands using Samsung's ServiceMode. So here is a quick guide.
ServiceMode is Samsung's proprietary Engineering Mode, built within the TouchWiz framework, readily available on International variants, and some domestic like T-Mobile. It allows us to observe the RF connection, change certain RF related settings, and lock our phones onto specific technologies and frequencies. Sadly, Verizon has been blocking user access to Engineering Mode for years now.
So in order to enable access to ServiceMode on Verizon GS6/Edge you'll need to:
- Download Root Explorer
- Navigate to /efs/carrier/HiddenMenu
- Use TextEdit to open it (not text viewer)
- Change the value to ON (upper case), Save and Exit
- Restart the phone
Once restarted you can dial:
*#0011# to observe the connection
If you want to lock your device onto a specific LTE band (13, 4, 2):
*#27663368378#
- UE Settings & Info
- Settings
- Protocol
- NAS
- Network Control
- Band Selection
- LTE Band Selection
Here you can force your phone onto a specific Verizon LTE Band (13, 4, 2), or use LTE ALL if you have VoLTE (Advanced Calling) enabled as this will eliminate the need for CDMA radios.
To go back to default, go through the same process but at Band Selection make sure to chose AUTOMATIC.
There are a lot more settings here, you can enable AMR WB on UMTS if you use T-Mobile so you can get HD Voice on their UMTS layer, etc... Carrier Aggregation has already been enabled, so no need to tweak that.
If you aren't sure what certain settings and values correspond to, it's better to avoid tinkering. You're responsible for your own actions.
