US XT1034 after network unlock only connecting on EDGE in Europe - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I got Motorola MOTO G X1034 (on the battery when connected to PC it says X1032) form the USA - here is the offer: http://www.sears.com/consumer-cellu...martphone-black/p-00333272000P?adCell=REC_1_0
It was locked to Consumer Cellular - an AT&T company and I was able to unlock it with unlock code.
But when I try to use it in my country Bulgaria with my carrier Mtel the mobile Internet is only connected on EDGE and not on 3G or UMTS.
Anyone knows why is this happening and how to fix it. Can I flash some European radio or something ?
P.S. So far a was able to unlock bootloader - flash custom recovery and root the phone.

so nobody knows anything about this ?!?!?!
ok another question - I saw that there is a secret menu (*#*#4636#*#*) that allows you to change default network from 2G to 3G and vice versa, but in my phone this menu is missing (disabled from the provider I guess).
So my question is if I flash some other ROM will the menu appear ?
thanks

Which bands does your carrier use?
My guess is your carrier uses different bands then the phone has, or all that exists is a 2G band in your area which you would want to check with your carrier.

yes I think this is the problem my carrier uses 2100 mhz for UMTS but the phone is not supporting it - is there a way to flash new radio or to enable this frequency ?

[Q] hsdpa inactive??

i live in italy and bought an at&t quantum...unlocked it to make it work with my carrier, but i can't get hspa to work...if i check in MFG under "engineer menu", modem setting, i can see hspa status as inactive...what can i do? also i experience randomly network shutdown when changing between gprs and 3g...help me if you know some tricks =)

[Q] z5s 3g modem

I have a ZTE nubia Z5S.
It is great. but 3g is only in 2600 mhz. So only edge for me for now.
Looking around I found some people are trying to unlock the modem and they says the modem supports other bands.
Any idea how to unlock the modem, a new firmware ?
Commands to check the modem?
wait so the z5s gets released in at&t and get a rom? ( I know is a long shot)
Some people is asking roms with the bands released ( someone in miui was working the modem)
Any guide to learn is welcome.
According to http://www.nubia.cn/productdetail.php?id=335, Nubia Z5S supports 3G with the UMTS/WCDMA protocol on the 2100MHz spectrum.
When you say 2600MHz, do you mean LTE or 3G?
Anyway, the WTR1605 tranceiver used on Nubia Z5S has no LTE support, otherwise is capable to handle many UMTS bands, but ZTE might have locked down some. This is the good news.
you are right,
In my country we need:
CLARO
GSM: 850MHz
UMTS/HSDPA: 850Mhz
MOVISTAR (Virgin Mobile)
GSM: 850MHz
UMTS/HSDPA: 850Mhz
TIGO (Uff, UNE y ETB)
GSM: 1900MHz
UMTS/HSDPA: 1900MHz
now ready to learn about unlock bands
anyone has experience with the baseband switcher?
It is possible to use it to change baseband if the z5s is rooted?
Or I need to install cyanagenmod and then use the baseband switcher?
I tried:
to open a terminal:
adb shell
then:
am start -n com.android.settings/.BandMode
I tries to open a window in the cell but the window is empty
I did the command from terminal after su, so the command ran as superuser.
But the same result a window with tittle but no menus.
It looks like that command is for mtk cpus.
Anyone know how to change the bands to automatic snpadragons cpus?
FInally I am getting some place,
I got to the wlan settings, I typed the code *#*#4636#*# inside notepad and copy the code.
Paste in the phone.
I got the menu:
Testing
Phone Information
Battery Information
Usage Statics
Wlan information
I go, WLAN information -> WLAN API
I got the menu:
WLAN settings
disableNetwork
disconnect
enableNetwork
getconfiguredNetworks
getConnectionInfo
Half the menus are not working, but If got to enableNetwork asks:
Input
Enter Network Id:
SO Anyone knows What codes I need to use there?
well, I got the list of the bands supported by the modem using att commands:

No 4G / LTE in Austria?

I'm customer of the local carrier "Drei" (Hutchison) but my Pixel (bought in Germany) does not connect to the 4G / LTE network.
The support of Drei is not able to help me. LTE is working fine with the same SIM on the OnePlus One.
Any clue how to fix that?
There is regional problem I came across. In India here we dont have VOLTE support on pixel

What LTE bands do they use on Drei?
Same happen to me in Portugal with MEO. I can't seem to solve it. Talked with my carrier support, they don't know why I don't have 4G/LTE.
I never got 4G, but my SIMCard has no issues with iPhone getting 4G right away.
Is it Pixel issue? I start to think it is..
3/Drei is listed here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks_in_Europe#Commercial_deployments
The specs of the Pixel are listed here: https://madeby.google.com/phone/specs/
That is all information I have got.
Is there any possibility to display information about nearby LTE senders via an app?
After activating "LTE only" via *#*#4636#*#* it works. Everytime I search for networks or reboot my phone it still connects via 3G and switches back to "LTE UMTS auto (PRL)".
Seems to be a software issue.

I use the phone on Verizon and don't have any problems connecting to LTE using any available mode (Global, LTE/CDMA or LTE/GSM/UMTS). However, if I set the mode to LTE-only via the menu, it will also reset when I either reboot the phone or if I just open the "Cellular networks" menu. I think it's how it supposed to work because that menu doesn't have the LTE-only option, so it resets the mode to whatever you see there. The solution is simple - if you reboot the phone change the mode again and don't go to the "Cellular networks" menu
Regarding why it doesn't work with "LTE UMTS auto (PRL)", it might be because Drei didn't configure a handover from UMTS to LTE on the cell site you're connected to. It looks like Pixel finds UMTS signal first, but doesn't know that LTE signal exists due to a missing handover. Another phone might be fine if it searches for LTE signal first. But if you can see another phone switching from UMTS to LTE in the same spot, my theory is wrong.

[Completed] Help! Tmobile Samsung S7 locked only on 1800 mhz band. Already rooted

Hi everyone.
Last time i was in xda forums was when i try to mod my windows mobile CE 5.0 lol
This is my sad story:
I bought in the US a samsung s7 with T-Mobile SM-G930T, i paid a guy who 'unlocked' it in there. After that i brought it to Colombia, in here i run the T-mobile unlock app which succeded and erased itself after that. Then the cellphone started working with all the mobile companies in my country except for one that operates over 1800 mhz, other companies do work fine. When i insert a simcard of this company it just says that 'Not registered in network' and wont do nothing. I already tried to put the APN settings correctly (Actually it automatically loaded every company settings detected).
After that i tried to root with a modded Odin with a custom ROM and it succeeded and i got the SuperSU application, tho the cellphone its a little laggy now, but neither that way it worked. Anyone knows how where should i start looking?
I went to this company support and they sent me to Samsung support, which redirected me back to this company, lol
Thanks in advance guys

Hi,
It seems your phone is region locked due to which you are locked onto a particular mhz network frequency...
yes the first step would be to try to a custom rom to see if this over rides this situation or you could try below situation below... this is ideally for s6.... or atlast google search...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6/general/enabling-using-servicemode-t3109579
Ok, since now we have root, many users wanted to know if they can lock onto certain LTE frequency bands using Samsung's ServiceMode. So here is a quick guide.
ServiceMode is Samsung's proprietary Engineering Mode, built within the TouchWiz framework, readily available on International variants, and some domestic like T-Mobile. It allows us to observe the RF connection, change certain RF related settings, and lock our phones onto specific technologies and frequencies. Sadly, Verizon has been blocking user access to Engineering Mode for years now.
So in order to enable access to ServiceMode on Verizon GS6/Edge you'll need to:
- Download Root Explorer
- Navigate to /efs/carrier/HiddenMenu
- Use TextEdit to open it (not text viewer)
- Change the value to ON (upper case), Save and Exit
- Restart the phone
Once restarted you can dial:
*#0011# to observe the connection
If you want to lock your device onto a specific LTE band (13, 4, 2):
*#27663368378#
- UE Settings & Info
- Settings
- Protocol
- NAS
- Network Control
- Band Selection
- LTE Band Selection
Here you can force your phone onto a specific Verizon LTE Band (13, 4, 2), or use LTE ALL if you have VoLTE (Advanced Calling) enabled as this will eliminate the need for CDMA radios.
To go back to default, go through the same process but at Band Selection make sure to chose AUTOMATIC.
There are a lot more settings here, you can enable AMR WB on UMTS if you use T-Mobile so you can get HD Voice on their UMTS layer, etc... Carrier Aggregation has already been enabled, so no need to tweak that.
If you aren't sure what certain settings and values correspond to, it's better to avoid tinkering. You're responsible for your own actions.

Samsung Galaxy S8+ (G955F) Partial Carrier Restriction

Hi,
I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S8+ (G955F) model. The phone shows Carrier ID: VOD (I guess means Vodafone/Product Code) in Odin Mode in Red Color, the phone is unlocked working on one carrier in all LTE/3G/2G networks but on other carrier it only works in LTE/3G modes and when i switch it to 2G only it doesn't register to a network on this second carrier and as long as i Turn it Back to LTE/3G/2G it registers but to only LTE or 3G.
I believe it is some kind of a partial carrier lock where the phone is locked on some carriers in different network modes.
Its not registering to 2G on Telenor Pakistan Network while it registers on LTE/3G/2G perfectly fine on Zong CMPak.
The phone doesnt require any kind of carrier unlock code or something.
Is there any way to work this around??? I have installed UK BTU Firmware from Sammobile, already debranded and works perfectly fine just not working in 2G mode on this one carrier.
Is there any way to change this product code or something while being on official Stock Firmware?
My Current Service Provider Version is: PAK/PAK/VOD
I want to change this to PAK/PAK/PAK and remove that Carrier ID: VOD thing from the odin mode display.
Please help!!!!!
hi did you find a solution??
Nopes. I just had to change my phone after all the things I tried, It won't go so I had no other option.
