Removing ATT logo from front? - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Might be a totally stupid question......but has anyone figured out how to remove the horrid branding from ATT in the top right corner. I'm not even with ATT I just unlocked it for TMobile.
It would be so nice if one of the genius' here could help with this small problem.

I don't think it's going to happen cleanly as it looks like the logo is underneath the touchscreen's plastic facing.

EDIT

Actually I think he is not speaking about the logo on TouchFlo3D but rather on the casing. It's just riht of the earspeaker. Sadly it doesn't look to be silk-screened on like with past phones.

OOPS should have read a little closer, the branding on the case is as permanent as it gets, I don't see any way of removing it without totally messing up the device.

Do what I did... get a case that covers up the logo

go take a photo sticker and stick on it
If not, use a sand paper... I was considering paint over it... but then I've already put the film on it

Yeah its weird that this is so locked down I used to have a Dell Axim and I could really play with it and make themes and all kinds of stuff, I think the app I used was called Pocket Facelift, but these new style sof phones seem stubborn and not user friendly at all.

Screen colors leaked in middle of screen?

This is the second fuze ive owned... and this is also the second time this has happened. In the middle of the screen there is a small block of like a rainbow of colors... but you can only see it in certain light...
Has anyone else ever come across this?

Mine too.. But i have a screen protector on it so I figured maybe its the screen protector? never really check it without the screen protection.
Yes.
My first fuze did this after a few days, its an exact square with sort of a frame, I was thinking it was condensation, but my phone has been dry always....
I thought it was weird that it was square shaped and a almost perfect square.
Anyone know what this is?
Yep...nothing unusual for raph unfortunatelly...my old post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2934571#post2934571
BTW, this is well known issue by HTC so replacement is in most cases done free of charge as a part of warranty. Eventhough I've heard that in some cases in UK, HTC was demanding some kind of payment for replacement.
Anyway, this cannot be fixed in any other way but replacing the screen....afaik
I was told that it means that the screen under the digitizer is broken. Most likely from pressure on the middle of the screen.

Oh man, mine just expanded Can I know what did you guys do?
Pressure between flat wires, conductive tapes and backside of LCD screen causes the problem. You should take apart your Raphael to see the back of LCD. There is a very thing black tape around the display. Check it for any kinf of damage. If there is no sign of penetration, make the same thin tape from any kind of office tape and place it over dark one. I hope this can help you.
Be a HTC Indiana Jones, take the danger and DIY!
i was just about to start a post about this. the middle of my screern (75% of the screen) has these rainbow swirls and they form a perfect rectangle. you can also see a grid of dots. once i noticed this square i started havin problems where its as if someone is pressing the touchscren just on top right corner of this rectangle. so i cant go through menus and it will randomly go away. it also happens on other random locations. can someone explain what i should do?
Mine just did the same thing. The phone seems to work normally. I called and I am sending it in for warranty repair. Is there any way to prevent this from happening in the future? If they replace the screen, do they have some process in place to prevent the same issue? I really love this phone!
Oh, and now my iPhone loving friends are all saying, "You shoulda got an iPhone!" I dont want a crappy iPhone, I just want a good screen! This is my second phone already.....I have never dropped or abused it in any way.... I really wish they used better quality screens. i can do tons more stuff with my phone that my "iPhone friends" cannot....
UPDATE: to anyone who gets this problem. I finally got around to calling ATT and they say its not a known problem so its not covered within warrenty. They want 500 to fix it.... Then I called HTC and they said this is whats known as a Newton ring and its due to pressure applied to the screen so they wont fix it under warrenty. Now they are asking for 200 for it to be fixed. Not worth the fix if u ask me. Thier rep was pretty shocked it was on a Fuze and said hes seen this before and they never fix it under warrenty so its not worth sending it in unless im prepared for the bill.

[Q] Phone Charm Loop?

Does the G2 have one? If not anyone know a good close fitting case with a loop on it?
There isn't anyplace to attach a lanyard or other "loop" on the phone.
I've yet to see a case available yet that has one, either.
When my wife had her G1 I used a tiny drill bit to make two holes in a cheap ebay case we bought her. Just find a good spot to put the holes that is far enough away that whatever is hanging from the lanyard cant swing and hit your screen. Two holes right next to each other should do the trick and you can loop the lanyard through.
Sounds like a plan, thanks for the help guys.
a lanyard loop would probably be a bad idea for this phone as I would imagine the keyboard would slide out quite often...bad hinge or not, I can see it happening.
Yeah, I don't get this whole concept. Don't see the purpose at all.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
And this is how you eventually destroy the case...

And yes charms are stupid, a short 6" lanyard is totally awesome for getting your device out when you're doing other things, like say riding a bike.
It was never for a lanyard so I could have the phone hanging off my neck or whatever people do with lanyards. Just wanted to use my phone charms I had on my Touch Pro 2 on this phone. If you don't know what a phone charm is its basically like a key chain but for a phone. I ended up looping it through the hole in the top right on the back of the clear plastic case from T-Mobile and it sits on there fine.

Lol I checked to see if that would worked before this post and yea, that's a good way to destroy your phones case. I like phone charms though, have a Sonic charm that's pretty nice, if I had more keys I'd probably toss it on a key chain but I use my phone more, don't pull on it for any purpose other than looks.

Not at all if you hang it from the top right or bottom right corner (e.g. the corner the camera is on). This way the keyboard naturally hangs shut.
OK, found this AWESOME tear down of the Desire Z/G2
http:
//tjworld.net/blog/htc-desire-z-tear-down
So looking at the top and bottom right corners, perhaps we could drill an in and out hole to make a bomb proof lanyard anchor.
For those that doubt the use of a lanyard, all you need is a wrist strap, like on your camera, and this will mean that you're a lot less likely to drop and smash your DZ! I've dropped my old nokia lots of times and they bounce, but i doubt this will...
If all you need is a way to attach some charms, something that fits the 3.5mm headphone jack would work. I have seen styli that use this attachment method. As long as the plug is non-conductive it shouldn't confuse the phone any.

dissasembling an HTC inspire- stuff behind screen!

wondering if anyone has ever dissasembled thier inspire before....if its hard, tricky, details.
wierd thing, i dropped my phone yesterday, as it was falling i fumbled for it, smacked it up agains the wall in my house. Bits of drywall got wedged between the screen and the body of the phone, as i was trying to get it out with a thin knife, some of it dropped down inside the phone. i want to get it out because i have a feeling it will ende up making white dust in my screen.
another reason id like to get it open is to see if i can get the bottom right coner of the phone re-secured. its loose and floats up and down.

DO NOT DO THIS! Not that you don't have the ability to do so...But because this phone has not been on the market for a year yet. the screen coming up is a defect. Get it replaced.
EDIT: A EXTREMELY slight movement is normal. It has to give to be stable. It's kind of the same concept behind a wooden roller coaster. Some, very minor flex is required, as it actually supplies more structural integrity. Now...If you had a knife under the screen, that is far too much flex, and should in fact be replaced.

lol i think you are misunderstanding me, i was just trying to scrape the drywall from the little gap between the body and the screen on the left side fo the phone, i wasnt prying under it. the bottom right corner is something seperate. its not coming completely apart but it flexes noticeable up and down and make the screen turn funny colors there. ive read that its a common thing, but its not bad enough for me to want to send my phone in for replacement. i didnt get it from at&t

Ah ok. I understand now. And I know what you need to get ALL of it out in seconds! You need Cyber Clean. I got some for Christmas and this stuff is amazing! Attached is what to look for. You can find it at Target normally in a little pouch. Got mine from thinkgeek and got a whole tub.

Funny my screen "flexes" on the bottom right corner. It really bugs me, its stupid, but I wish I could fix it. It pops up, then I push it down. It's stays for less than 10min and pops back up. I'm not sure if its worth the hassle to call HTC.

I used a clamp on mine last night. Placed a cloth between it and the phone and let the clamp do its thing for about 10 hours before taking it off this morning. I can see and tell a noticeable improvement. No flex. But only time will tell if this did the trick or not. So far after 3 hours it has not come up at the corner.

will HTC really replace the phone over this corner issue? i dont think im going to be able to get the drywall out of my phone and its really bugging me, its wedged in theere HARD. hard enought to make the body of the phone flex away from the side of the screen......and there some thin plastic layer between the phone body and the side of the screen.....which i have messed up by trying to scrape the drywall out with a knife. boo. phone works perfectly but i hate the cosmetic issues

Have other people been having the screen coming up problem? Mine is so severe that I can see light bleed on the bottom right hand corner. Wonder if it's covered by AT&T warranty
I just started having this same proble.I am TIIIIIIIRRRRRREEEDDDDD of ATT's crap though. I have been on the phone with them for 32 hrs in 38 days with now 4 different phones and I LOVE the Inspire. I am having the same issues now though where the screen is coming up and it's really really annoying. I mean REALLY annoying. I am thinking to just put an otter box defender on it and it will be fine? Can anyone confirm that the defender will keep the screen in place or any case for that matter?
I bought a silicon cover for $2 shipped off ebay and I didn't notice this issue until I just checked after reading this thread. The cover adds some serious bulk to the phone, but kept it from breaking when I dropped it from upper chest level on concrete (I'm 5'11"... and I swiped too far and caught the edge with my thumb. I almost cried).
P.S. It still hit hard enough to gouge the metal through the thick silicon

Bezel Scratched Out of the Box

Hi guys,
The bezel on my charcoal black Galaxy S5 evidently was scratched during assembly. Has anybody else had this problem? I didn't even notice the problem for a few days because it only shows up when light hits it the right way, and it had been overcast for a couple of days after I bought it.
Now -- my local Sprint Store is telling me that, and I quote: "they've never seen a bezel scratched right out of the box" and insinuating that I am trying to take advantage of them. All I want is a phone that isn't damaged out of the box!
I had to go through a nightmare last time I visited my Sprint Store because of a dead pixel for an HTC device. So this time I called ahead to try to make sure I won't have any problems getting it exchanged... Right now they the sales rep said he has to talk to his manager before letting me know.
It's sad that Sprint employees seem to assume everything is the customer's fault until proven otherwise.
Anyway just felt a need to vent. BTW -- the scuff is on the top chrome -- adjacent to the volume button. Kind of looks like maybe the assembler tried using a tool to snap things together and didn't put a cloth on top first or something to protect it. Oh well!

Edit: Just got a call back -- they say since I'm within 14 days it doesn't matter if they believe me or not -- they will still do the exchange. I guess I'll just have to be happy knowing in my heart that I'm being honest and didn't make the scratches.

Just got my replacement phone. Bezel is scratched again -- on the left side, but lower down this time. Guess it's a "feature" -- I'll learn to live with it. Phone is too awesome otherwise.
You gotta be kidding; two in a row? That's some LG s*** right there! I went through 3 G2Xs before the carrier finally let me have a better device. Always inspect that thing as soon as you get it. Me? I always look it over, root and ROM it the first day. That way if anything goes wrong, you can take it right back. Had to do it with a Rezound once too. Get a good case and you'll never notice it.....but you'll still know it's there.....
Any suggestions on a good case that covers the bezel without making it look like it's wearing armor an inch thick? Got an S View right now its OK but of course isn't meant to cover the bezel... and it won't stay closed either... ?

"HTC" Letters on Back

Just recently the "T" and the "C" on my HTC M8 rubbed off. They were a thin material glued on, and it appears the glue came loose. Both the "T" and the "C" came off at the same time as I ran my thumb over them. My phone wasn't unusually hot at the time.
I'm not sure if my phone got too hot too many times and loosened the glue, or the build quality just wasn't up to standard.
The Verizon store I bought this from was unable to warranty the phone, since this didn't hinder my use of the phone at all.
I've had the phone since April, and I've taken good care of it: no scratches or dents so far. I'm disappointed that the Verizon store won't replace or repair the phone.
Anyone else have this happen to them?
That's a hidden, added feature. The logo transforms to an engraving. No extra charge...

I laughed way too hard at that.
I probably wouldn't mind feeling the engraving on the back if it had always been that way, but the sudden change is bothersome.

If you're not joking, how'd you manage to get them off? I can't seem to get the "H" off to make it even.
hairdryer and needle; only tools i had available at the time. the hairdryer heats up enough to loosen adhesive but not to hot to damage anything.
Yup, my "C" fell off. No idea where it went. Bummer. I want to replace the entire back housing (I have a few small knicks and a very tiny dent), but it will probably just end up happening again.
EDIT: I used a hairdryer to take off the "H" and the "T" to make it more uniform. It does look a bit better since they are all removed now, but I like it better before. Adhering the "H" and the "T" wouldn't be a big deal because I still have them, but I have no idea where the "C" went to. I hope it doesn't hurt resale value when I try to sell it for the M9 next year.
Happened to me about a month ago. Definitely think it was hear related as it was the hottest time of the year. I used a black sharpie to color in where the letters use to be. You can't even really tell the difference.

You can always call HTC. I know they replaced / repaired phones for the camera film issue and your still in the 6 month window for a free screen replacement. They might use that screen replacement warrenty to replace your letters instead. It's worth the call if it's bugging you enough. I got scratch on my screen that's bugging me that I'm going to try and use that warrenty on. Along with fixing the camera lenses. Had to scrape off the film and now it just looks nasty.
