I was wondering if anyone can help me with my Swedish hardware keyboard mapping? I downloaded the cooked wm6rom but my keybord doesnt work right on the fn +key. The layout on the orginal swedish keyboard is in this link on page 50 http://www.htc.com/support/pdf/htcty...Manual_web.pdf I want to map my keys as it shows on the link, how shall I do that?
Hi there, I wonder if you've managed to find out what the hex key for swedish is?
I found the list of all languages at: http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/reference/winxp/xp-lcid.mspx
... and inserted "1053" for swedish, but this didn't help, my hardware keyboard is still messed up. Anyone got another hint?
I beleave i can make a CAB to let you use sweden dictionary and keyboard map correctly...
I'l do when i have some time and post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1673274&postcount=2
Cheers.
jcespi2005, that would be most kind of you. Many thanks in advance!
Edit: jcespi2005 - I tried with the norwegian keyboard instead, and that did the job! Thank you very much anyhoo.

I have tested it and it does not work, it makes the CurLang value in the registry to 1053, and even though that is Swedish it does not work. My Swedish Tytn II arrived with that value set to 1044 - norwegian bokmål. When setting it to that value it works. So the keyboard does not work, but the dictionary seems to be Swedish and is working So just a small adjustement and it will be fine

hello jcespi2005! can you help with similar problem on keyboard layout. i flashed docomo ht-01a to english rom but keyboard layout is messed up. your help will be much appreciated. thank you in advance.
jcespi2005: Could you (if you have time) have a look at making a similar cab for the Samsung i780? The cab you did before doesnt do it, looks like the registry is setup otherwise
Would really appreciate this!!
Hi,
I've flashed to windows mobile 6.1 and am stuck with a QWERTY keyboard layout. How can I switch it to an AZERTY ? I've added the Local string that works for WM6 but it doesn't seem to in WM6.1. Any ideas or tricks I may have missed out whilst searching ?
Regards,
Axet
Hi !
I'm using schap's Advanced Configuration Tool to do it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359380
Bye
Just tried and it didn't work. Are you certain that you are using a WM 6.1 rom and not a WM6 rom ?
I install this soft too :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=345426
I'm using ROM 6.03 with Radio 1.64 and it works !!
Tried that too but it hasn't worked (yes, I have performed a soft reset on the phone after installing). My phone is running WM6.1, CE OS 5.2.19170 (Build 19170.1.0.0). I installed Sleuth's WWE 3.0 ROM.
Well, i am french too, and i have a kaiser too and i can assure you that the cabs inside the thread listed above are indeed working with the rom, Sleuth 3.0, installed on my device.
I think you're in for a hard-reset.
Hi,
I am also looking for the azerty hardward keyboard, thus french, but well the Belgian French Azerty keyboard... Can anyone help me with that ?
I am using Dutty's DualTouch V4 RTM...
Thanks in advance...
It's buried somewhere in the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365066
Check out the posts from the last 4-5 days, it should be in there somewhere but can't locate it directly. The post contains the registry keys that you need to change. Good luck!
Here is what I found on the topic you gave me the link :
- HKCU\keyboard layout\Preload
Default = e001040c
- HKCU\keyboard layout\Preload\1
Default = e001040c
- HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD
CurLang = 1036
- HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout
Active = 0000040c
Worked fine for me. Thanks
mhhh I've noticed one problem with this fix, I can no longer use the "fn + space" combination to add accents to differents characters

Changed registery settings as indicated. Now nothing works (not a single button). Even the red and green buttons. Help

Strange Behavior
When i did the changes in the registry mentioned above, all he keys were desactivated. I double checked if i had done anything wrong. I reverted back to the old keys. Now I am still stuck with a qwerty layout on an azerty kyb. The advanced config tool had no effect. I set it to french but nothing changed. I have the Dutty's Hybrid Rom[DualTouch v4].
Thanx a million for your input guys. You are the best.

Solution! German Keyboard / "Umlaute" (Fn+Space) working with english 6.1 !!!
Ok guys and girls,
the title may sound like i know what I'm doing, but I'm a noob to all of this after all. Still I managed to get the "Umlaut"-function (Fn + Space) working on an english 6.1 ROM. The ROM running my German TYTN II is L26_KaiserDiamond_V9.
Ok, so here's what I did:
1. set Keyboard layout to "German" in AdvancedConfig
2. changed value of registry key HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD\CurLang from 409 to 407
3. installed XDA_JCEspi2005_German_Input_Kaiser.cab (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=345426)
4. copied the file "sym.0409.txt" (located in DEVICE \Windows), renamed the copy to "sym.0407.txt"
et voilá!
I guess step 4 is what did the trick... even though I still can't believe that the solution was this simple. Someone else give it a try... maybe on a different ROM. Would be cool if this was the definitive solution.
greetings,
cartonneexpress
Yes but it is also important to disable XT9 with KaiserTweak or AdvancedConfig. Otherwise the Fn + Space dose not work for me.
thank your very much,
works perfect for me, too

no idea why one would think that this has any affect on the softkeyboard... but here's the suprising solution for you: install a german softkeyboard! i'm sure you'll find one on xda-devs.

Oh i searched a little while for it but i did not found any useful.
For the hardware keyboard have you tried to change the value of registry key HKLM/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/KEYBD/CurLang from 409 to 407
And then HKCU/MUI/CurLang 409 changed to 407 (Hexadecimal).
Then softreset and after that install XDA_JCEspi2005_German_Input_Kaiser.cab
And then softreset again.
In some roms i could not find one of the registry keys but then it was enough to change the other.

then give this one a try. As many different KB layouts as you could wish for, including national characters (although only 2 at a time, switch-able by a key next to R-ALt). @ the mo, I'm using Polish and Norwegian.
NO, I'm not affiliate, just a happy user.
Ah yes, it's NOT free, but at 9.99 PLN (or 2.99 €) anyone can afford it.
And YES, it IS skinnable.
DL a trial version, give it a shot, see for yourself.
With me I can now type fn + space but the Y is a Z and vice versa
What else can I do than reading and searching ?

What did the trick was
Regedit [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD]
"CurLang"=dword:00020409 to 00020407 for German, other language see here
Install Jespis German/language cab http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1673274&postcount=2
Result is qwertz and after vocale Fn+Space = "Umlaut" + German dictionary

Keyboard layout
It worked on my Kaiser! All symbols were messed up, but now it's ok. Thnx a lot, cartonneexpress!
hello,
i know the keyboard layout problem has been discussed a few times already, and i know the solutions, but it seems like i need an additional dll / registry "hack" to get it to work. ive installed the Lite rom v1.4.5. by luca15thebig, it's an english rom with qwerty keyboard layout, but i'd need the german layout. so i've tried the hints given on other threads on wizard forum but they didnt change anything. so ive looked into the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\] key in the registry, but theres only the layout code for US keyboard layout (*0409) theres only two entries with 0409 at the end but none like *0407. so, is there a cab / registry hack to get it back working? thanks in advance

alright, i fixed it just installed Schaps Advanced Config and set the keyboard layout right on the misc tab
Since lot of users can have some problems, i created how to change xt9 language. some can find this quite usefull
you don`t need to install any other files, it is just a little bit of reg editing
1. you must check value here
\HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\DefaultLanguage
for wwe rom it should be hex 0109 (dec 259) (it depends on your rom)
2.find here your default hex number (should be 0109 for wwe)
\HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\LdbFiles\
in this directory are keys with string value like XXIsUN_xt9.ldb
for wwe at 0109 it is supposed to be ENIsUN_xt9.ldb (it depends on your rom)
change first two letters by language you want (warning, this codes can be assigned bad, i am guessing it from alpha2, pm me, if you have different opinion):
AR - Argentina
CS - Czech Republic
DA - Denmark
DE - Germany
EL - Greece
ES - Spain
FI - Finland
FR - France
HU - Hungaria
IT - Italy
NL - Netherlands
NO - Norway
PL - Poland
PT - Portugal
RO - Rumunia
RU - russia
SK - Slovakia
SV - Sweden
TR - Turkey
soft reset device, and it should work. feedback appreciated.
Thanks, didn't know. I can add no reset is needed, and the number in defaultlanguage is decimal value of the preffered language (definition is in hex).
Now the libraries without diacritical marks would be useful

I followed your steps. In addition to that I added 0816 to the ...et9\availablelanguage, so as to have an additional entry on language selection, then soft reset the device.
Portuguese doesn't appear on the list, just "unknown". Keyboard layout on compact QWERTY changes to Portuguese layout but predictive test remains English.
Windows folder does have the PTIsUN_xt9.ldb. Any thoughts?
point is, that value, where is linked your language file at dir LdbFiles must be set in DefaultLanguage, and must be into availablelanguage... check your defaultlanguage value... be sure you are writing it in HEX
I did! They all match. I was using a Portuguese XT9 for Niki. It seemed to work fine, only some times strange stuff happens like only numbers will be written instead of the letters on a single quick press. I've seen on other topics some additional reg changes. I'm now wondering if it is possible to change to any language from any rom since some files could be missing in WWE, not allowing me to apply you steps to get Portuguese.
How about other languages, that are not on this list ???
It works for Romanian. But the dictionary its not that rich so its kind of useless.
