Sync Problems

Ok, I admit I am a total noob I have only had this phone a day and I was able to get it to sync with my computer last night. However, today when trying to sync I plug it in and activesync makes a sound like its recognized the device but does nothing and continues to say the device is not connected.
I am using the standard rom and have enabled data communications in the connections screen. I have tried hard and soft resets.
Please help me...
Also on a weird note it is detecting the device as a file drive but it has a ton of photos and music that I did not load onto the phone in the device folder. Also the mobile device folder is empty.
Thank you in advance.
Go to Start-> Settings -> Connections-> USB to PC and uncheck the "Enable advanced network functionality".
Connect your mobile to PC. It will be recognized (but not synch) by the ActiveSynch.
Then take it out and re-enable the "advanced network functionality".
Connect your mobile to PC agian and it will work again.
This works for me. It happened yesterday.
No go. Windows recognized it as an mobile device but activesync was still unable to connect to the device.
Also, when connecting the device as a disk drive I can see some apps i've installed in the program file, but it is still showing alot of items I didn't add. These files don't appear to be on the device. After deleting those extra files I tried to send new pictures to the device which would not transfer.
Any Ideas?

AT&T TILT no longer recognized on PC

I recently purchased an AT&T Tilt - love it. Everything relatively smooth for about 6 weeks. Then I go to update my sync with Outlook and nothing.
Plug in phone using USB cable to PC (running Vista 32bit) but device isn't seen. It charges but not recognized on PC - thus nothing to sync to.
I've cleared my previous sync settings in ActiveSync, unpartnered the device on my PC, uninstalled and reinstalled Windows Mobile Device Center - still nothing.
Checked to make sure phone and PC had USB connection active - yep. Checked and unchecked the "Enable advance network functionality" on the Tilts PC to USB connection setting - nothing. Ran diagnostics on my USB ports - nothing. Was able to recognize and sync my iPod and Palm handheld - no problems.
I'm out of ideas. Anyone run into this or just have an idea I missed?
Appreciate any help. Thanks.
I had something similar with mine. For some reason it stopped liking the version of Outlook running (Office 2000) on that system, evn tho' it had worked fine for many months. I connected it to our other system with Office 2007 and it was recognized right away.

USB connection??

My PC has 10Meg download speed. I don't want to use 3G when I'm sitting in front of the PC.
I used to could have the phone connect to my PC's broadband over USB when it was plugged in. I can't for the life of me figure out why it won't connect.
I want the PHONE to connect to the PC's broadband...not the other way around.
RRE 21231 v3 NO manila ROM by the way.
The WIKI on this site is outdated. I've been searching for hours.
Thanks.
Another one solved by me.
Oh....and another damn Microsoft bug to boot.
I'm running Vista 64bit. Plug in phone. Select Active Sync on phone.
Goto Windows Mobile Device Center and click the Mobile Device Settings button bar.
Click Connection Settings.
The box that says "Allow data connections on device when connected to PC" was checked. I unchecked it and now it is working again.
Initially I had to check this box to get it to work and that seems like the right thing to do. For whatever reason my Vista is out of sync and I
had to uncheck this box and leave it unchecked to get it to work again.
I'll now see if I can find a fix for Vista.
Later.

Diamond will not connect to computer

Hi! well as yoou can see by the thread my diamond will not connect to my computer via activesync or usb. Yet it shows that it is charging. I have tried as much as possible heres a list of what i have. Windows 7, Diamond Windows 6.5 BsBL verion. If anyone has an idea it would be greatly appreciated
Hy,
1. Do you use active sync or the windows mobile device center? You must have windows mobile device center v6.1!
2. What are the active sync settings on your phone?
Greatz
i am using wmdc and i have the setting on active sync normal not with enhanced file transfer
Thanks for helping!
try to delete the partnership on ur device and wmdc. Ball ache to re-sync everything i know, but it works, or should......

FUZE Not connecting with Windows 7 laptop

Any ideas why? Should I admit defeat and download active sync 4.5 even though the sync center is supposed to sync my device automatically?
I use EnergyROM if that matters
I dont know if this will help but im using Windows 7 and my phone synced just fine! so its not a prob with win 7. i can soft reset and retart win and try again!
hmm
what rom do you use? maybe its the EnergyROM or maybe my computer is messed up =/
I'm using TAEL and it works fine with W7
try to
-reinstall windows mobile device center
-restart the pc
-hard reset
-use other rom
as an alternative, you could use google sync to save contacts, calendar and mail
You need to download and install the Windows Mobile Device Center.
Moved as not ROM Development
Assuming the following
-Installed Windows Mobile Device Center
-Connected your phone with the "Active Sync" option
-Getting an error saying "cannot install Generic RNDIS device" or something like that
Do this to fix your problem
-Go to your phone's Settings > Connection > USB to PC
-Untick the "Enable fast data synchronization"
Your pc should now automatically realize that's a phone connected to it and should start installing it properly
if you want to transfer files across, do it in "Disk Drive" mode, since ActiveSync is painfully slow
Thank you very much guys, works just fine now
I used myphone to sync my contacts and such, i just needed a sync to a computer because it's faster to flash roms that way
and i use disc drive for transferring videos and pictures
just for a reference, for people searching for a solution to a similar problem, which one did the trick for ya?
