I've just replaced the keyboard on my S710 because the lovely chrome like finish on the end key was coming off. Problem is, I cant seem to find a proper adhesive to keep the keyboard down. Have tried silicone and it works for a while, but eventually comes loose. Dont want to use an epoxy base or super glue base because it still needs to flex. Any suggestions?

It seems that lately, when the phone slide is closed, I am able to separate the phone from itself by about 1mm to 1 1/2 mm...seems as if the sliding mech. is losing its hold on the phone (even by a bit)...
when I use the screen to type, I hear it clicking/taping against itself--
anyone else having this situation arise?
Slowly evolving into a tilt here...
Same here, it sucks. I will probably sell it before it is too much and then buy a Touch Pro 2. But Mine is loose on the side where there is no slide (left), it is still strong on the right side.
Mine's still good and pretty snug. I baby it tho. Still wondering for that first drop. I hate dropping my babies. Lol.
yea, mine is doing great,
Ive dropped it a couple of times, yet it still seems as strong as it was when i got it. I also have a snug fitting plastic cover on mine, so that helps it even more.
Service Manual for the HTC Touch Pro/Raphael
Mine got a bit funny too - after it came back from HTC service center for screen replacement. However, I'm planning on dissmanteling my Raph and check for loosen screws.
If you guys wanna give it a try too, I'm attaching a link for official Service Manual for the HTC Touch Pro/Raphael - it's a hardcore, step-by-step how to dissmantle Raphael down to the smallest pieces ....have fun!

i guess if push comes to shove I'll rip this baby apart and see if I need to tighten up some of the lose parts-IF it gets bad.
I baby my phone as well, and have only had it for 4 months.
Eh, if it's put back together, and it works, then that means these extra screws weren't that important to begin with.
First was buggy, now cool
My first fuze made a weird sound but i replaced it and I haven't heard anything from this one
I don't think screws would be the culprit. The slider is on rails isn't it? So the fix would be to bend/tighten/replace the rails?
Mine is getting a little sloppy. I hate having the volume buttons on the top screen portion too. Every time I try to press it, the phone will more apt to try to open then press the button in.
sometimes my sliding mechanism is a bit slow to catch up with the body i.e it can slide out ok, but if you look at the back of the screen when the kb is open, there's a small rectangle i guess where the ?cables go. sometimes mine stays there for a few seconds, then goes down. if this makes sense to people.

The magnet holding the stylus seems to have either come off its usual spot or is turned in another direction. But the stylus wasn't holding anymore. Today, I got to work and noticed I had lost the stylus. Is there any known fix for this? I never dropped the phone, it just wouldn't work one day.
Thanks for any help.
Did you open the Stylus? You can srew it (upper black part) up, where you can see the magnet that is hold by a plastic part: it cant move .... did someone fool you?

Well, my stylus is lost now so it's too late. No, nobody was trying to trick me. Are you saying that the only magnet is in the tip of the stylus? The end that you write with? Because I believe I have another one.
with mine you cant write like a pencil only on the touch screen without ink ;-), its a touch pro without branding original from HTC. the magnet in it is placed in the inner stylus ca. 3 cm upwards from the "tip" ..., you can say just in the middle ..

Well, mystylus was going into it's sleeve and not staying in, it was just sliding out. So, I don't know where the magnet was at all.
For me it seems that the contra part in the inner of your device (ferrum or magnetic) has moved or is broken so the magnetic stylus "found nothing to be magnetic with" hope you understand me, my english is worst .... You know that you need a little Power to remove the stylus from his hole. if you could test it with the other stylus that you still own (but must be for the TP!!), wether the stylus is hold or not.... and have a look in the inner of the stylus wether the magnet is there...
good night.... perhaps till tomorrow.... If you need a plan from the inner parts of the TP: i have one

P.S. If you shake your device: Do you hear anything ??
Well, I tried but my replacement stylus didn't work. There is definitely a magnet missing inside the phone. At first it was tight, then it seemed blocked and now it just glides in and out.
So, can anyone give me any hints about what I can do to fix my stylus not sticking in its sleeve? I really need this fixed. Is it safe to open up a Fuze?
This happened to me today...
i have removed the battery, chip, microsd and then the back cover... a bit tricky but it was easy (folowing the dis/assembly guide), for mine the lower part didnt want to go out, so i pull out the speaker connector and then push it out.
and the other magnet was there... and it have a place in the back cover that i think it may be seen if you take the battery out... it have like a dent
now my problem is with the polarity... i dont know how to glue it ... it have 2 positions vertical or horizontal
the vertical position will attract the stylus but it seems not to enter completely
the horizontal will push it, but i dont know if it will hold it as is very hard to test it without adding glue and i will use exposy...
EDIT1: found where it go... its in the vertical position but it need to be tested (because the polarity is different dont know why) if you are going to glue it
EDIT2: i used a plastic card (old medic card, visa, ect) to pry out the back cover from the keyboard
Thanks
Many,many thanks to you.
Same situation so easy but the lose magnet not easy to find except by your tips. Ha, ha I love this forum, So many thanks to the people here who contribute helping each other

Greetings folks...here's a question to any of you that have taken your devices apart.
Had a clumsy moment with my coffee and ended up spilling a small amount on the tf700 keyboard. Whoops. Did my best to suction the coffee out of the keys but had a problem with keys getting chorded due to the coffee (ie pressing "A" would give me "AB" and so on).
I took the dock apart to dry it out. Eventually I got 99% of the keyboard functionality back, but my caps lock, TAB and back-quote keys remain completely dead (the caps lock light won't even come on).
Is there some other way to get "inside" the actual keyboard part of the device? I was not happy to see that the keyboard itself is moulded and plastic-sealed right on to the inside of the dock metal (ie you can't unscrew it). Can you safely pop the keys off from the top? I have checked and double-checked the ribbon cables...they are clean and snapped into place on the small motherboard inside. I believe the keys are still working...if I hold down the "L" key and hit caps lock, the "L" key stops repeating so a signal is getting through. I think coffee gunk is still inside but since I can't actually take the keyboard itself apart, it's going to be hard to clean.
As an aside, what crappy worksmanship in this dock. Since day one the back part of the dock would "pop apart" if I had the tablet docked...now I know why, Asus manufacturing did NOT actually screw in the back screws hidden under the footpads. Doesn't happen now that I've "fixed" it. Oooh I voided my warrantee..
I'm also looking for an answer after an unfortunate incident with some tonic water (Damn high fructose corn syrup...). I also discovered the loose screws on my dock.
For the past few months, a couple of the keys, (mainly backspace, hyphen and 'a'), would stop working occasionally. I finally decided to pry open the keyboard and have a look around, thinking maybe I could fairly easily clean off the key contacts. So I carefully pry the metal top piece away from the plastic back bits...and I accidentally pulled the keyboard ribbon cable out of its connector.
No biggie since it basically slides right out and can easily be re-inserted. Anyway, the keyboard looked like a pain to take apart so I just reassembled the keyboard. Upon booting, the keyboard worked perfectly...and hasn't missed a beat since.
So if you aren't afraid of attacking your precious beasty with a sharp pry-thing, try re-seating the ribbon cable for the keyboard. It seems to have worked for me.
Anyone think that having the keyboard (not the touch but the tactile one) scratches the screen when closed? Also what if you don't want to use it, is it designed to fold back like the ipad smart cover and just only the tablet?
New to the pro. Nice piece of hardware.
Thanks
The screen is Gorilla Glass, it is harder by far than the keys of the Type Cover. You can clean the screen with any glass cleaner if you want to remove lines or smudges; they'll all be on the surface.
Both covers can be folded behind the tablet. In that position, they are inactive; you don't have to worry about hitting keys. The Type Cover still feels weird in that position, though, because the keys move under your fingers as you hold the tablet (this is one reason why I got the Touch). You can also just remove the cover, of course.
Few things are capable of scratching gorilla glass, fewer still are things your tablet is ever going to come anywhere near.
Some gems and minerals (this includes sand, both beach and builders) will do it, as will more gorilla glass shards. Plastic and metal if they had a sharp tip you might be able to do it, but you would have to be trying to do it, actually putting effort in to break your screen. The type cover certainly won't scratch the screen.
The type cover does also fold onto the back of the device like the touch cover does, the only difference between the 2 is the thickness and the fact that one has proper keys. I haven't handled a surface with type cover yet, only touch, touch folded onto the back doesn't feel weird at all. I have handled a yoga 11 though, keys on back of that were weird, very weird. But the covers come off so doesn't matter much
