Slow input method change..

Hi guys, i've got a problem when i try to change input method on my xda neo, it appears the list after i tap the arrow for bout 5sec, few days ago the list just came up as soon as i tap the arrow..
can any1 tell me how to fix it?

This is normal

well, base on 3 years use of windows mobile, i dont think this is normal, and it worked fine few days ago, all i want is to get back to normal state.. how irritating is it if u wanna change an input method but u have to wait 5 to 7 sec everytime..

According to my 4years experience of using windows mobile. It is normal.

according to my 1day expriences
just backup your registry and restore
u will see it working as normal as master reset perform
this is due to third party software that cause it slow down
too much SIP on your pda

One of these 3rd party softwares that cause SIP change to slow down on WM5 is Microsoft Voice Command. Backing up and restoring the registry usually fixes this problem, but in some cases the actual 3rd party software that caused the problem would not work well after the registry restore.
On the Dopod 2.15 ROM with SPB Mobile Shell, TCPMP and Resco Media Suite installed, the SIP menu pops up as soon as I hit the arrow

Yes, MS Voice command is the main culprit. So, I do a full reg backup before I install it, and then restore it immediately after.

This is because MVC ver 1.5 does not officially support WM5. MVC 1.6 does not have this issue on WM6 Crossbow.

I traced this to voice command 1.5 way back. Waited for a year for 1.6 to come out.. had to pay another $10 for the upgrade!! grrr.
And it still didn't fix it.
I'm planning to wipe and reinstall everything soon so it might be ok then.
It's definitely not normal.

I agree, this is not normal.
The pop-up menu should be instantaneous.
After installing Resco Keyboard and Voice Command the menu became slow to appear.
Both are now uninstalled but the problem remains.
Must be something wrong in the registry.

lastnikita, i agree with u.. scott4, mayb yr device is alr abnormal in the first place, that's y u don't find the slow input change abnormal, and it's very lonely to use such device for 4 years.
By the way guys, I've just updated wm6 2 days ago, initially the input method change worked fine, bt after i installed CE-Star and phone pad, not immediately,about a day l8r,it starts to get slow just as what happened to me with wm5. I did the backup and restoration as Tabbe mentioned, it did helped, reduce to about 1.5 sec.
And the Ms Voice Command with wm6 is v1.6, so i don't really think it's MVC's problem (correct me if i'm wrong).
What's strange is, (when i was using wm5), after i installed ce-star(phonepad's alr there) the input method didnt slow down at all. The only thing i remember before it started to get slow is, i installed mem-maid, and i did a clean up, including bad reg, after that, it got slow.. so could it be some reg issue that contribute to the problem?

FIXED!: Applications Wont Install

Hi,
im trying to help my girlfren over the phone she has a prophet (i have the same one) when she tries to install applications it says that the program can not be installed, to storage card and to device. at the moment her prophet will not sync with activesync either so she is using the explore function to drop the cab files on her prophet.
she has tried to install Jeyo SMS Backup and also the HTC fix for usb connectivity, my initial diagnosis is that she may be short of program memory however would like a few more ideas to try before i talk to her on the phone tonight - please

EDIT: recently her alarm has started going off and the only way to shut it up is to disable and reenable the speaker (reset doesnt work) she cannot sync with active sync either and she ideally needs to back up her calender before hard reset. does this give you any ideas to the problem/?

My Wifi Is Dead!!

Hello all I really hope someone here can help me. I really like the touch style 10 button comm manager but for whatever reason, my WIFI never worked when I had this installed so I found a download that changed the registry for WLAN under Comm Manager that was supposed to fix the wifi problem but instead, it completely killed my WIFI. I have uninstalled and reinstalled like 3 different Comm Managers and my WIFI will still not turn on.
Here is an attached copy of the WLAN reg that I installed. If someone with working WIFI could please tell me what this registry's string is supposed to be in order to have working WIFI that would be incredible.
Please help, I'm Desperate. I use my WIFI at work.

I'm not interested in trying a new rom. I actually just flashed back to WM5 because I like the performance and the lack of bugs. I am the one that screwed up my WIFI but I want to fix it without hard-resetting since I don't want to have to reinstall all of my 3rd party software again... It takes forever...
All I'm looking for is the correct string for the registry that I attached.

My apologies, my computer was acting up and I attached the file but it must not have actually attached. It should be there now. Thank you for helping me.

I can't find something similar in my registry. Wm6 registry is different than wm5 one. Can you post both the 10 button comm manager cab and the cab with the registry modification? I'll work on it tomorrow morning, now i'm going to sleep.

Here are the attachments you requested. I do not have a cab for the comm manager with the registry tweak though, it was just a registry that was supposed to fix the WIFI problem with the 10 button Touch comm manager.
I will attach everything I have below for you to look through.
EDIT:: Nevermind. My impatience caused me to go against what I originally wanted and I hard reset and just reinstalled everything... I hate doing that though. I have so much on my phone that it kills me to have to go through and reinstall everything.

TC camara problem

Hi,
I tried to search the forum, I googled around, but I seem to be the only one with this problem:
sometimes (I can't specify it anymore, there is not routine in this problem!) when I open my camera the screen stays black, as if the camara was covered with something (which it isn't, of course!)
I already hard resetted my Crouise, problem was fixed for like 2 weeks, but today, problem turned up again.
Soft reset does not help... any ideas except throwing it at some hard wall?
Edit: Phone is really slow when this problem come up and the only way to leave camera mode is to press the red phone button or do a soft reset

Sounds quite bad, may be a hardware fault...
One hard reset temporarily solved the problem, if you did the hard reset again would it again solve the problem (for a while?). Backup all your files and give it a try.
If not then it may be a hardware problem, in that case I would recommend you send it back to HTC or O2.
If it temporarily solves the problem then it is probably a software issue - I would recommend you try flashing a new ROM, or flash the original ROM.
Just a suggestion...

I did a hard reset again today, backing up my Files via Spite Backup, but after reseting, Camera still isn't working...
Recovering the backuped files didn't help either...
F**k, I really don't want to sent the phone in, because I only have this one, and I sure it's gonna take some weeks to get a replacement...
Is there any way of reinstalling the camera...*hoping for hope*

I have exactly the same problem and i haven't find annything to fix this.

I've got the same problem, I have only find (for my case) some situations...
If you turn on the pda, it works.
if you wait for a while, it works again.
if you wait for some hours, it stop working...
then, if you regular turn off and on the pda, is not secure that it works.
If you soft-reset, it works.
If you keep the pda connected via usb or ac cable, it works everytime (I'm testing it now and it's from this morning that the cam works perfectly).
So I think is a only software problem, exactly I think is apmd error.
Power saving shut down cam device, and when you click camera.exe, the os is not so quickly to return on the device...
I ask to the experts (not me, obviously) if it can be a possibility...
Also can I set, only for cam device, the power saving disabled? So I can test my consideration better?

The Rom seems to work well too.
Theres one problem the USB Connection to PC doesnt work for me,
not with Zune and not to the Windows Phone Manager.

I have tried the Usb Video Option a few times nothing change, but the phone video
gets slower and a bit laggy,
theres no reaction from Phone also no Reaction from PC,
I think it has something to do with the first Charge problem.

for the PC not being sync'd with your phone... try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922000
This is a link to the DFRouter we used to use when WP7 was just unlocked and while using this, the phone would stop being sync'd with the PC. I dont know if it will help but I will be going home in 1 minute and try it myself after flash... jejeje

Alright... Tried the DFRouter all night from Zune mode to Router and back. Tried the USB Mode, HTC Sync, etc and nothing worked to sync. I have installed WMDC6.1 and Windows Phone Manager with no success, ZUNE still wont detect. (I am on Windows8).
Tried to turn on and off the device center app included and still cannot get to sync.
I like sync because I take ALOT of pictures and the AUTO upload to skydrive does not upload the FULL RES pictures. Also have alot of music that I like to keep going back and forth with... But I can live without this for a while. I will try BT Sync when I get home tonight as it did not occur to me while testing yesterday.

On another note, for those that dont want the Chinese apps on the phone, just install the english ones and it will overwrite them (DFT-Bluetooth and the WMDC app that are both in the Settings) once you have installed them they will show up on your regular list, you can then OPT to delete them or use them.

I've put it in description, prepare to say to everyone that you have windows phone 8 as one of the first ones xD

Well, with this ROM I am not able to charge my phone at all. Now I am stuck at an automatic shutdown loop. Am I able to charge my phone with the bootloader opened?
Edit: have to charge the battery via my old touch diamond 2, they're nearly identical in size. So I will be able to flash back to my previous ROM.

I think so, but also get your battery out, and put it back in. It's normally only the first time

I was going to report on this too... I was giving it the benefit of the doubt and waiting for the "FULL CHARGE" as it is reported with these ROMs that your first full charge wont report. But now I have given it a fully charged battery (From a Evo Shift, same like the diamond2 ) and put it to charge, it still does not charge the phone.
Could this also be the reason our Sync is affected?

I tried the ROM version for Gold, but since there's no battery charging, no ZUNE syncing and since I couldn't use cab sender to upload language cabs, I'm installing previous custom ROM and backup :fingers-crossed:.
Moreover, I couldn't see anything in the HTC Hub live tile, only the location name...
Honestly, I didn't try to use directly WP7EasyBackup to restore or WPV App Data Backup to get back my apps...

I have the feeling, that the entire USB port is disabled in some way. Maybe a faulty or wrong driver.
