interesting Problem.three color screen after every reboot. - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Software Upgrading

I spilt some tea on my qtek s200 yesterday, and right after the spill, I unplugged the battery and dried it first with tissues and then a hair dryler .It seeed ok for a while but now I have a strange problem.Whenever I softreset the device, it sticks on the three color screen.
Softreset doesn't work at this stage so I try to hardreset the device. After I press camera+comm man+reset buttons, there is a confirmation message and then I press "yes", this is where,I think, the problem is; I can't get a format completed message and after this stage the device boots up normally.
After the spill, the camera button started to act weirdly. I open the camera app and try to shoot a photo by pressing the camera button but it doesn't react but whenever a turnoff the screen with the power button and on again it shoots a photo.
May be there is still some parts that need to be dried,so shall I dismantle it and take a look inside
If you have an idea, please have me informed.
Thanks.

To sum up the problem:
whenever I try to hardreset my ppc, it performs as a soft reset ,so,I cannot hardreset the device.
Help me please...

I wonder if one of the buttons (the camera button probably) is stuck. That would explain the entering bootloader and the inability to take a picture.
If you can get the device to boot up properly, in the settings under "System" there should be a "Clear Storage" program, that will allow you to do the same as a hard reset.

I tried that "clear storage" but that didn't work, all the same.Maybe you are right.Because when the bootloader screen came up, I tired to hardreset again, this time just pressing the comm manager button and reset the device with the stylus and it tried to hardreset but again was unable to do it.
So,i think, I should find a way to prevent the camera button from keeping pressed steadily.
Do you have an idea?

more likely the camera button have short circuited..

do u use usb cable to connect with pc .. if yes then after 3 color screen try to connect it and look if u see text at bottom left "usb" .. if its all true u can flash your ram

@sahir74,
When I connect the device on the three-color screen with the usb cable,i can see the "usb" on the bottom left.
I have no issues upgrading my qtek s200 (prophet), but when I try to hardreset, I come across a problem like this,or whenever I softreset the device, it doesn't normally boot up and just sticks at three-color screen.
Do you think a surgery can fix this problem?I am thinking about opening the device and doing something about the camera button.
All the problem arose when eye spilled a glass of tea on my s200 ,which happened exactly where the camera button is.

What ROM have you upgraded to? and, what is your devices IPL/SPL?
If you tried an official WM5 NVID ROM, then I think taking it apart and checking the connections is the only option...

Shadow 2
and I tired other roms, it seems to be a hardware problem.Anywayapart from this problem, I am using my device happily though.

Red Green Blue screen on my 8125

I am getting a red green and blue screen with the 8125 when It turns off and then on :? and I have to hard reset but when I hard reset I don't loose my data. but my camera button doesn't work and my camera randomly opens after my 8125 comes out of sleep. Any Ideas on How to fix it???
By any chance is 8125 another name for Prophet\jamin\qtek s200?
What you are describing sounds like the bootloader, which you enter by pressing power + camera + reset.
I think your camera button is stuck and sending key presses at random.
Also, I think your comm manager button (under the volume slider) isn't working so instead of hard reset you get a soft reset which is the only way to exit bootloader.
8125
I think it is a wizard. But you can confirm at Cingular.com
Comm button works for sure but camera button doesn't seem to work even though it presses in. Thought it was software not hardware making it not work.
If you're using the stock case that came with the phone, that might be causing issues as well. check out this thread: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=909904
Checked out cingular site. Scratch what I said about comm button, the HR on your device is probably different then mine, but I still think you are entering bootloader when you turn on your device.
Since it doesn't happen each restart, I doubt it's software related, especially since you are having trouble with the camera button. The only connection between camera and bootloader I can think of is the hardware button combination used.

s200 touchscreen problem. rom issue?

Hi, I've received a damaged qtek s200, which has non-working touchscreen. I can only use the buttons on the bottom of the front side, which is not enough to even unlock it. From the facts I've gathered someone tried to change rom in it and damaged it. On boot it says:
IPL:2.09
SPL:2.09.0000
GSM:02.07.20
OS: 2.9.7.24
I have no experience with pdas. Please help.

first try hard reset by pressing camera button+comm manager button and reset the device keep holding the buttons down until you get the following message on the screen: "Press Send to restore factory default." At this point press Send (Green Phone). Warning this will erase all information, contacts etc. However data on the SD card will not be erased.
if the touchscreen is still not working, try to stick a softcard (business card) between the screen and the front panel because sometimes somthing like dust or dirt is puting pressure on the screen, or maybe you droped the phone and the front panel been twisted (even a little bit) and now it is pressing the screen.
if the touchscreen is still not working, try to flash a new rom to the phone by downloading it from here: ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Prophet/Shipped_Complete_Updates/
if all the above is not making the touchscreen to work, so probably it is a hardware problem, and you need to send it to repair.

Did you make a HR?
Remember, you'll erase all your data. Remove the SD card and Press and hold the camara and common manager buttons at the same time, then put the stylus into the hold close to the USB connection. Still hold the mentioned button, when a dark screen become, it going to said to restore, push the green button you used to answer a call.
Your device become as factory.

SPV M3100 frozen

I know this is a bit of an old phone now, but I'm hoping someone might be able to help...
When I switch the phone on, it gets to the Windows Mobile screen and then just hangs. After a few minutes, it turns itself off.
So far, I've tried the following;
1. Soft reset
2. Hard reset
3. Remove battery, put on charge (red light), replace battery (amber light), hard reset
4. Removed battery for 2 weeks
5. Praying
6. Swearing
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thx
Bad Flash
Hi
You could try starting the device in bootloader in order to re-flash the ROM, or flash a new ROM. Methods for this are:
1) Press the soft reset hole button whilst holding camera button fully in.
2) Remove the battery, then re-insert it and switch the device on by pressing the power button but again ensuring the camera button is depressed fully.
3) Remove the battery and re-insert it. Don't switch the device on but plug it into a Windows PC using a USB cable whilst, you guessed it, depressing the camera button.
If you can get into bootloader (three coloured screen with some yellow writing) then you can probably reflash the device. It sounds like a software problem not a hardware problem but I could be wrong on that.
If you can't get the device into bootloader mode you have a problem that is more complicated to fix, about which I can't advice.
Best wishes

Hi,
Thanks for the reply....I couldn't get your method to bring up the bootloader to work, but tried pressing Power and OK while doing a soft reset.
This brought up a screen with 4 horizontal bars - red, green blue & white. Text at the top says;
HERM100 (text in white)
IPL-1.01
HERM100 (text in yellow)
SPL-1.04
In the white bar is the word 'Serial'
Does this sound right?
Then it just hangs on this screen - is there something else I am supposed press on the phone, or do I do something via my laptop with activesync etc?
Sorry for the additional questions, but I've never had to do this before.
Thanks
An update....
After noticing that 'No GSM' appears on the splash screen, I have now found this page which I think might answer my questions.
I'll have a go at this tonight

Serious boot-problem - HTC HD2

Hi,
I got my HTC HD2 only a couple of weeks ago, and I already got a problem with it
The thing is, that I can't boot it up properly; when pressing the "Turn on/Turn off/hang up"-buttom, it boots by comin' up with the white screen with the green "HTC"-logo in the middle and some system information in the left buttom.
Afterwards the animation with "quietly brilliant" comes up and the Windows logo with the orange background comes up - and then it turns off and boots up again.
I've tried to...
* reset it (not hard reset - I have some contacts that I don't wanna loose).
* charge it up (I can, when the windows-logo appears, see, that the battery's full)
* pull out the battery for several hours
Please help - I'm very sad about that I used tons of money on a device, that now won't work.
Is there any way, where I can solve the problem without loosing all my contacts?
I did it!
Ok, found out that all my contacts were synch'ed with my gmail.
I hard-resetted it, and it works now.
Thanks for your help
Lol well done!
For people that dont have push/exchange contacts etc, always backup using myphone, spb, sprite or other software.
Cant tell you enough how important it is to back up, unless you like loosing everything right?
Greetz.
Boot problem..
Hello there,
I bought my HTC HD2 like 2 months ago, and the first two days it froze like thrice !
Now, suddenly i find it turned off then when i try to boot it up, it get stuck on the white screen with the green "htc" and information in red to the bottom left. It hangs there!
It did later show the following black screen with white text:
"The device is unable to boot because either you have turned off the device incorrectly or tired to install an application from untrusted source. Press Volume Up to reset your decice or press any other button to cancel. This operation will delete all your personal data and restore the device to it's factory settings"
but the thing is, i can't press anything at this stage, nothing happens....
I did try to hardware reset, charge, remove battery and put back, etc..

You tried:
1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then press the END/POWER button shortly and release it.
2. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
If that dont work try flashing a new rom using mtty.
If that still doesnt work I would expect it to be a hardware problem, i would send it back to htc or if without warranty take it to a Phoneshop (or open yourself), probably a wires loose or something.
Thank you for replying... but sadly no, it didn't work
I do have warranty, ill take care of that..
Thank you again.
did hard reset and returned to factory settings. all my installed applications were lost. pity.
All I wanted is to install the @#$%% russian keyboard!

If its brand new out of the box, id take it back and get a different one. If its second hand, see if you can get into bootloader. If you can you can then flash a stock htc rom, if not its back to the shop.
