I'm not really convinced by the integrated Radio software of my Polaris. I would like to know if somebody know an alternative ?
What I search for is a software that allow me to wrote the name of the station (not only the frequency as into the Polaris). I've also remarked that the Audio Booster have any influence on the Radio. About this, I'm not sure that it is a bug with my Bepe WM 6.1 ROM (if someone can test it with an official HTC ROM, I'll be interested to know if this is a general problem or maybe "normal").
Thanks in advance for your feedback !
Hello my Friend!
Audio Booster doesn't do anything with my original French Rom.
I agree: the lack of station name is unpleasant

I'm not so happy about default HD FM radio software. I use it also into the car and after a while the device turn off leaving the radio on...very ugly
Do you know ho to keep the light off but device on with the FM radio on?
Hey, this is one of feature I am going to write.
I also want to write name for my favorite stations so I started this FM radio project to write my own player.
However I am not sure if Polaris has same FMS API as Raphael etc.
Can you test it on your device please?
You may need device driver (FMS_API.dll and FMS.dll). they can be found from Diamond or raphael forum.
See my signature for downloading xFM Radio player.
Now we are four.
Five... I miss station name too...

How about offering some alternative instead of counting ? Every time i see this thread bumped up, i read the posts, hoping someone would post something meaningful. Yet, all i see is "me too" with a count :-( There are way more than 8 ppl want this, take a look at the views count of the thread.

Hello! I recently upgraded my Himalaya to WM5 AKU 3.5. Everything runs nice but I have a problem with the Sound. I use the Himalaya in my car in the T-Mobile CarKit. However since I upgraded the sound is not routed through the CarKit speaker anymore but remains on the internal speaker. I had this issue with some WM2003 Roms and so I know it's pure software. Can anybody please point me to a solution? Is there a way to change this in the ROM or do I need to search for a ROM that has this feature enabled?
Thanks

Hi.
Same with me as well. I am missing that very much. In between there is one workaround: if the 2.5mm stereo jack is accessible in your car kit, just plug a connector without a headphone/mike into it. This enables output on the 22pin pin connector as well. As I am using a homemade adaptor, this works for the moment - but I do not like the idea to use that 2.5mm jack all the time without really needing it...
So any suggestion, maybe some program to switch? - I do not care if I have to run that program manually when I want to have external output, although some automatic switching would be appreciated...
Regards, Uwe
Hi!
Thanks for your input. Unfortunately the 2,5mm jack is not accessible in the carkit. I start thinking about going back to WM2003SE. What a pity to loose DirectPush for that but the sound is more important....
Hello again.
IF someone from the "developer" group reads this thread at all:
Why are questions about this car kit audio issue always ignored by the rom cooking guys - at least I did not manage to find any answer by llbasha, c_shekar etc (my apology if I missed one). Even if it would not be possible to fix this, at least a definitive answer might be surprisingly interesting.
Please forgive me if this is a little rude, but I consider this a BUG in ALL wm5 roms - instead of just stuffing the rom with more and more gadgets of personal preference someone might look into this???????? HEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!! Anyway - do not misunderstand me - you did a great job, but still - some guys would like to have this problem solved...
I still think that even if there is no fix in wavedev.dll possible (I think that dll is the cause of the problem) it should be possible to write some small application to "tell" wavedev.dll to use the external speaker/mike for all audio I/O. If I would have the necessary input I would be willing to try to write an app. So maybe someone can tell me where to find information about functions within wavedev.dll?
Regards, Uwe

Simply Download the attachement. It is a working wavedev2.dll which must be place in /Windows
After that, search Registry for "wavedev.dll" and replace it with "wavedev2.dll". Wait a minute, until you do a (software-made) soft-reset.
After that, you are DONE
Hope, you are not angry anymore...
Thanks
Hi.
Sorry for being this late, but due to some lack of time I did not check regularly. So I am the more surprised to find an answer .

It is a big question, but all your questions are answered in this huge forum already, so you have to go and do some reading and searching for yourself and you will find all your answers, plus more and you will learn a lot. You will see what people said about 6.1 and you will see waht people said about BT just by reading other threads.
Dude, theres official BT fix to download from the HTC: (Bluetooth Hot Fix (for HTC TyTN II) )

When it comes to "what You can do with You device" the limit is the limit of Your imagination. The people at xda-developer is doing magic, but please use the wiki's and the search function like:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/
From this wiki You select the device of Your interest (Kaiser) http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
Now You have the world in front of You: Reviews, Discussions, Hacks and tweaks, ROM upgarding etc.

1. the vibrate function can provide you hours of enjoyment, with proper placement (external or internal, your choice)
2. install as many programs as possible, filling up both main memory and storage card, using them once or twice then never use them again. after flashing a new rom, install a new assortment of software you probably don't need.
3. re-encode your favourite pr0n to ppc scaling and impress your friends with today's pocket pr0n.
4. port over wm5 from the wizard (blinding speeds, you won't be sorry)
5. read ALL the stickies in Kaiser upgrading area of forum (this isn't near as fun as the other suggestions, but you'll be able to answer your own questions, and be comfortable in the knowledge that you can hack your phone "without any help")
1 and 3 make a nice combo too!
Yes there is a WM6.1 upgrade, i am using Shaps at the moment and it seems to work fine for me.
WM6.1 doesnt give you a huge amount new, Shaps 6.1 rom for me has been stable and quick, i dont tend to install much on my phones though other than the included stuff. I do a few bits and install TomTom. 6.1 has threaded sms which is nice but has some annoying little issues, like i cant seem to find a way to forward sms messages any more. bit annoying.
Flicking through some of the other forums people seemed to be muttering about not being able to sync there 6.1 phones with ex2003, i use ex2007 though so i cant comment, mine works fine.
Havent noticed any bad sound quality over bluetooth. Be more specific though, do you mean stereo bluetooth or just normal.
I use the htc home plugin looks nice and works well.
Hope i have helped.
Rob
ps. Remember before you rush out and start flashing roms, read the wiki and things. You have to do stuff like hard spl and things first.
If i were you i would do it in this order.
1. hard spl
2. sim unlock (if needed)
3. wm 6.1 rom
4. radio rom

You are one sick and twisted individual and I like it.
Start with the beginning of the internet at www.www.com and read through the entire thing.
I like to turn on wifi, 3g, gps, and bluetooth and use my kaiser to keep my coffee warm.
there are 2 new official roms WM6.1 from Orange.
UK:

3.28.61.0
FR:

1.65.16.25
25.83.40.02
3.31.73.0
cheers
interesting, let see what this 3.31 have inside
Surprise. The 3.31 FR brings a new Today plugin. Plugin configuration options are very basic
Refreshing after so much HTC Home.
Also AGPS comes enabled by default but can be disabled via Settings/System.
Camera is 4.08.30595.
Maybe someone could extract this Today plugin for use with other ROMs.
It's a vertical sidebar with icons. Each icon opens a text menu to access contacts, applications, SMS, call logs.. A very promising feature
I'll switch to the English one to see if it does also have the new Today. I feel more comfortable with English.

The today plug in isnt new, I'm sure its been around since my Hermes days, HTC Home is faster.
Nothing particularly special about this rom (OS 5.2.19212 - build 19212.1.0.3), performance not particularly great, Radio 1.65.16.25 interests me (being on O-UK so I'll be trying this out for a few days).

Don't want to discourage you, but this sounds like the standard orange Today menu which, performance wise, sucks. One of the first things I always threw of my systems when I was still testing orange roms. So probably nothing new. Haven't tested this new version yet, so they might actually have improved something.
if someone can rip the radio would be great
i think this radio has already ben ripped a while ago.
its in alltheways radio thread.
a while ago means that Orange released it also a while ago...
As far as I know, it was in the end of july...
I can miss also something. In this case, please forget my comment
anyway for who need to send back the device to french orange support, please check attached spl .
It can be useful.
cheers
IS tmc possible wit this device since it has an internal FM radio for tools like IGO 2008 or something?
Thnx
It should be possible to write a driver that will extract tmc out of rds and deliver it using opentmc. But since there is no such driver yet, one would have to write it from stretch. That would be a huge work to do.
So it would be good to start a new SF-Project... rds for htc
I don't think the radio is RDS. I know it was advertised as such, but I've used the radio quite a bit already and believe me, I've found no RDS option and nor does it autofrequency a channel. es it autostores, but no it doesn't automatically find alternative frequencies for a tuned radio channel.
Grrrr.

It has not to autofrequency a channel to be rds-able. If you get some informations like radio station name, then it is rds.
Yah. Fair comment. I suppose I was just a little surprised that it doesn't automatically find alternative frequencies; for me, it's one of the most useful functions of RDS, especially when I'm on my motorbike or on the train, etc.
I have the Raphael here in the Netherlands.
The radio application is pretty limited but it does show the RDS text which the radio sends like radio station name, traffic info and current playing songs.
Autofrequency is just one more feature brought you by rds. It sends a flag and than your radio can switch over if signal becomes weak. But the application have to support this. If you buy a real cheap auto radio than you'll miss a lot of this features.
But since TMC is only a common RDS package with an other flag, one should be able to use this.
Hello, I'm new here, and ashamed to say that while I like PDAs and know how to operate my Touch 2, I'm a complete newbie about their most advanced features.
I was looking for a more sophisticated FM radio tuner, as I'm not really satisfied with the one bundled with my ROM. I found Power Radio here on the site, but couldn't really understand if my model is supported or not: I found many pages regarding a possible installation on HTC Mega (but I seem to have issues with GFMAPI), one suggestion to rename the FMSDKWrapper.dll file (which I couldn't find on my PDA), and many other technical pages which I couldn't understand. However, after many wanderings I think that the correct answer is that Power Radio is not for me.
So, up to my question. Do you know any other sound FM radio tuner to substitute the crappy one on my Touch 2? Note, I'm not looking for an internet radio tuner, I don't want to connect to the Net.
Thank you.
