Can Somebody Talk me through HardSPL and Dutty Rom?! - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

I've been at this for 2 days now with no luck. I have my Tilt and I want to use Dutty's Rom V3. I've tried HardSPL sereval times with no luck. I use Vista and that seems to be the problem. I've tried using the method offered by the MrVanX website. Still nothing. I've searched the forums like crazy looking at a bunch of different solutions and trying them but nothing.
Is anybody willing to talk me through it on AIM. My SN is scoorch33.
My bootloader screen shows the thing below, and thats it.
KAIS1*0
SPL-1.56.0000
CPLD-8

Everything you need my friend is right here on this site. Sometimes it may take a day of reading before you find the answer, but trust me, anything that you are experiencing, someone else has already had and found a solution for that particular problem. For the hard_spl problem, which is the first thing that needs to be done, try this thread...it helped me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=354061

I tried using the solutions from that page. I did what the instructions say and during the bootloader screen I get something like this.
KAIS1*0
Jump SPL
CPLD-8
After that I try what it suggests, running the Splash screen application but nothing happens. I extract the files onto my Desktop of my PC and I double click.
A MS-DOS prompt appears for a split second and then disappears. The same happens when I run KaiserCustomeRUU.exe. A brief flash of a dos prompt and then nothing.
My phone stays in the bootloader screen the entire time and then I soft reset, but there are no visible changes to the phone.
Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

I'm trying to do the White Screen Solution Method of flashing the phone. Right now the phone won't even stay on without the SIM card in. It gets to me entering the password and then shuts down and restarts again.

So I run the JumpSPL on my phone and it goes to tricolor mode.
I unplug and plug the USB cable. I then try to run the suggested RUU program. The progam flashes up for a second. I don't even see what it says. The phone still stays in tricolor mode.
Phone doesn't restart until I do a soft reset.

Anybody have any suggestions?

I got it to work.
Found an old harddrive and loaded up XP and did everything.

Error [260] Connection

So I am trying to play with my new tilt for the first time, and after lots of reading I began to try. I am starting with POF's Hard Spl package, and I am stuck with that. I followed all of the instructions precisely, but when I get to the RUU screen, it says to connect PDA phone to the USB cable, and establish an Active Sync connection. Well it won't establish an ActiveSync connection now...and if I just check the box, I get the ERROR [260] Connection message, and it says to hit esc to finish. Then the phone is just stuck on the tricolor screen, and only thing I can do is reset.
So....now what? I have tried to google and xda search this problem, I saw one person with the same problem, but then posted back a little while later saying he resolved the issue, but didn't say how...
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Yes. Use another computer.. or disable your firewall or de-activate your AntiVirus program. You have some sort of conflict in the drivers. It happened to me and the only it worked for me is when I switched to another PC to do the upload.
I will have to try it out on my laptop when I get up...but I have no firewall enabled, and no anti-virus running. But if this is a driver issue, then I don't see how those 2 things would come into play?
So, switching to my laptop worked, thank you for that. I have sucessfully installed Dutty's v3 rom, but now it seems my battery depletion is on a downward spiral. It has gone down 10% in less than 10 mins, and it is just sitting on the table, nothing running.
Any ideas on that?
Also is there anything else after the rom install that I should add/do? I
have seen a few different posts about radios...not sure will keep looking lol...
Thanks again,
Michael
I had the Error [260] Connection issue at some point in the beginning of flash process.
Changing to a different usb-port in my laptop solved it to me.

First post... and I think I already bricked it

I was following the nice little wiki (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard Windows Mobile 6 for newbies) and got down to installing the button ROM to downgrade the IPL to 1.05. Started off fine, but it's stopped at 57%. For over an hour already. I wasn't running anything, but did have Firefox open the whole time (was reading ahead in the instructions).
I guess the question is, am I screwed, or will I be able to end task on this update and restart it? I haven't turned them off yet, but I'm guessing that if I do my phone will be a fancy paperweight.
I did notice that ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NOID.exe has maxed out one of my cores (13% utilization, 8-core computer--I.E one core is pegged at 100%), so I'd say it's crashed or in a loop.
I'm going to leave it running--overnight perhaps--and see what happens. Any other suggestions?
er.. if this is the wrong forum, I apologize. I forgot which forum I was reading before I hit 'new topic'.
First, don't use Vista to update if you can.
If the flashing stops, just reboot or use another computer to try again, your Wizard should enter bootloader automatically when you reset it. That should not brick the device (Unless you are installing Button's ROM to a G4 device).
If Wizard stuck at IPL boot screen (not bootloader), press camera+reset can let it enter bootloader directly.
Ok, I am on XP.
Well, I went ahead and killed the locked process and yanked the battery from the phone and was pleasantly surprised it came back up straight into the bootloader mode. These little phones are more resilient than I thought.
I also discovered my problem was that the ROM updater will freeze if activesync is running and connected to the phone. Knowing that, I was able to work around it and got everything on the phone updated, and am now running WM6 on it.
Thanks.
Now I can start using Visual studio.
Love Wizard
One thing that makes me love the wizard is it does rarely brick...
You must be joking...rarely does brick? Shoot, look at the Wizard wrong and BAM! Brick you shall have!

Cannot HardSPL Treo 750

Hi. Looks like Treo 750 forums are almost dead nowadays. But if someone can point me out in the right direction I'll really appreciate it.
I have a Treo 750, it came with WM5, I updated it to WM6 around a year ago. I did an official update, the one we were able to get from the Palm website. I've been very unhappy with it lately. Even after some hard resets, the thing is just slow sometimes, and I would just like to try one of those cooked ROM and see if I can get a some performance improvement, small or not.
So, I found this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=345748
The thread was posted a long time ago so it might be old. If you can point out to newer and/or better cooked/lite roms, thanks .
So, anyway, first step according to everyone is to install HardSPL. And this is as far as I can go. I'm using CheetahUnlocker.exe found in these boards. I put my treo in bootloader mode, then run CheetahUnlocker. Start step 1. But when it is trying to the update, where you see the progress bar, it goes straight to 100%, and then it fails with an error message 207, saying that the image is corrupted. The Treo itself reboots back to the OS.
I've been reading and reading for hours and I haven't been able to do this. I even follow some steps regarding Vista drivers, but that didn't work either. I tried it in XP at work and it didn't work. I always get the same error. I'm seriously lost and I would really like to try a lite ROM.
Is there any other way I can try to install hard spl? Can it be installed via the SD card method. Also, I could just go ahead and install the cooked rom via the SD card method but I wouldn't like to risk my phone that way.
When I reset my phone with the Media button pressed, first I get the tri-color screen for less than 1 sec, then I get a gray window with blue letters that says "Loading" for a few secs, and then I'm back to the try color screen that says:
"Palm Tr
IPL-0.20
Palm Tr
SPL-0.24.0000"
Any ideas? Please I really need help.
No one? I really need help flashing the HardSPL. I thought about trying to install the hardspl via SD, but I read it wouldn't work. Any ideas?
hi, do you format the SD in FAT32 and 512 bytes in your PC??? you must do this before copy de cheeimg.nbh file to SD.
not sure if this is too late but mine was doing the same thing. I switched to a lower capacity SD card and it worked fine. 2GB or less.
I have the same problem, just the 3 collor screen...nothing else. Any ideas??? Please...

6700 stuck in 1.00 bootloader

I'm trying to prepare my old 6700 to give to a friend, but can't get it reflashed to the stock sprint rom (APAC_SPCS_20600_300_11200_ship.exe, downloaded directly from Sprint). It appears the phone is stuck in the 1.00 bootloader (dark screen, says "SERIAL" until I connect the USB, then changes to "USB".
MTTY couldn't connect (no "USB" in menu), but nueTTY can. The problem HERE is that once I'm connected, I have no idea what to actually DO. Searching returns about a thousand results, and all the results I looked at either didn't resolve the problem and left it hanging, or involved PMs that solved the problem for THEM, but left no information of enduring value for anyone ELSE to read. I've seen dozens of postings saying "use MTTY to run the exit bootloader app", but no hint of what that app actually IS, or how to go about launching it.
So... with the phone tethered via USB, 1.00 bootloader active, and connected via nueTTY... what do I do next?

Trouble with Hard SPL

Hello this is my first post I'm writing because I'm having trouble putting Hard SPL
on my ATT Fuze. I have XP and I connect the phone to the computer and sync it
then open the SPL program go through the prompts then my screen on the phone turns off, the phone I believe also turns off and I get the error 260 a screen pops up on the computer saying it found new hardware. Any help with what I'm doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.Im kind of freaked every time I get up the nerve to do it and think I bricked my phone.
Did you install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 first?
Here is the link to follow steps incase you didnt see it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448008
Hey thanks for your help after further reading I know I should have posted this in the right section and yes I have framework 3.5 installed I guess one question would be that I installed 3.5 to the computer do I install it to the phone? Also I have been reading the hardspl post I think one of the ideas is to first install the SSPL manual
to the phone is that correct? Then do the hard spl? If this is corect what do they mean by install it? run it? active sync? sorry just want to get this right
This is from memory - so if i miss something, sorry!
You shouldn't get any error messages when you connect your phone to the pc, regardless of what boot state the phone is in.
The manual jump SPL is to be used if your phone doesnt enter the correct state automatically from the RRU.
If you want to use the manual jump SPL, do this:
1) Connect your phone to the PC (ensure it can sync correctly - no connection errors)
2) Copy the SSPL_manual to the phone
3) (on the phone) run the SSPL_manual file
3b) Phone should now go to a blank black screen
4) Run the RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_190_1_3.exe on the PC
4b) Follow the PC on-screen instructions
**However**
you say that the phone turns black / screen off when you run the exe normally - this is supposed to happen. You shouldnt get an error here. (this screen off part is what the manual SSPL is going to do anyway).
**
If you still get problems, ensure you are connected to the computers USB port - not via a USB hub, take the SD card & sim out the phone. Maybe try a different PC, different USB lead - always make sure you are following the instructions very carefully - and if you still have problems, let us know & we'll try harder! - remember to tell us everything, if you try 2 leads - tell us! If you get something different, tell us what! You can never give too much technical info when asking for technical help - and the more you have tried, the more interested others become (we all like figuring out a problem!)
Beeble
Thank you so much for your help just to give you an update either way I do it
Manual SSPL or just run the Hard SPL by itself the screen goes black and I know
thats what it is supposed to do. Just to clarify at first I did not know the screen was supposed to go black so thanks for that. Again either way it disconnects and a screen comes up saying it found new hardware from that point at first I was scared to do anything else but but eventually I just clicked YES install the hardware hoping that after I did that it would not disconnect but even saying yes to the Found new harware it would say it could not install any hardware and I'm stuck
from there still getting the error
Again I cannot say enough how helpful people have been even if I have not been able to get hard spl on the phone yet
