hi! i've been using B&L 2.07.05 FF rom for the past 3 weeks and i didnt have any problem at all.
before i slept last nyt, i charged my xda exec. then this morning, i found that my exec doesnt have a signal for my GLOBE SIM... i tried to change sim to another GLOBE SIM, at startup, it has signal, but after a few seconds, the signal vanishes. i tried turning the flight mode ON and OFF to regain signal, and i noticed that the ppc will ha signal for a few seconds and then the signal will be gone...
however, when i tried using a SMART SIM, my signal seemd to be very stable, no fluctuations at all.
what could b the problem? why is it that my exec suddenly lost signal (for globe) though i've been using this exec for about 10 months..

Once again a topic about the issue...
This time I want to exclude somethings about what said before... I hope we get a clear topic about, what some of us have a problem with, the 3G issue.
My situation:
T-Mobile MDA Vario III;
L26_KaiserDiamond_V9
ROM version: 3.55.502.1 WWE
ROM date: 06/25/08
Radio version: 1.58.25.17
Protocol version: 25.69.30.05H
Living in the Netherlands @ Alphen a/d Rijn (this for the dutch people that they know if there is a good 3G reception)
I travel alot trough the BeNeLux, France and Germany... in the first 2 weeks when I bought the device I had a 100% 3G/HSDPA connection. After a while the ROM get annoying because of lag in the phone calls. (Those where you have to wait a 15 sec. before you can hear them and they hear you...) So I got me a ROM from here and everything went fine... *like always*
Then it happend. After trying a few ROMS to decide what suited me the best (wether WWE or NLD) I noticed that reception to HSDPA (4 reception stripes in my hometown) was very low (about 1 sometimes 2), now as I speak it goes from 1 stripe H to 4 stripes G...
I spoke to T-Mobile Netherlands and they said never had such a problem. I even talked to the technicians of T-Mobile and even they didn't reconized the problem. They took a look at it and couldn't find any problem sofar... tough they don't think it's a hardware problem because it could make a connection to the HSDPA network...
Even with a other provider (KPN) 3G isn't possible but a low HSDPA connection IS possible...
T-Mobile is now investigating if it is a simcard connection failure or something in my contract... (contract couldn't exclude 3G usage)
So is there a possibility that something while flashing a new ROM set off the 3G reception...?!
Suggestions for where the problem maybe could come from:
The HardSPL;
SuperCID/CID;
Application Unlock;
ROM version;
Radio version;
Protocol version;

yep, I already tried that... but with no result...
Hmzzz I got Telfort KPN.
And always have atleast 3/4 bars on 3G & H. I'm using 3G/H for about 2 months now......

I have a strange problem with my TyTn II (brought over from Vodafone UK) and now trying to run on Vodacom in SA.
Everytime I hang up a call the connection status changes from EDGE to 3G and then I get "No Service"! It re-connects about 5 mins later but sometimes it only says it is "connected" but I can't receive calls or make calls.
I'm running one of the HyperDragon III ROM's (stunning ROM) and I have tried almost all the radio upgrades out there.
Does anybody have the same prob?
Or could any south africans not experiencing any problems using the TyTn II on Vodacom Network perhaps let me know what their set-up, ROM and Radio software versions are.

have you tried turning off the 3g with the comm manager? try making a call that way and see what happens
Have you tried asking this question in the hyperdragon thread in case it is rom related? If not you need to do so or try to flash another rom to your phone and see if you still get the same problem. If you think it was a radio problem you could ask in the radio thread which is very informative.

I've reverted back to the latest HTC Rom. Had little problems with almost all the custom ROMs.

I had the same problem. And also broke the phone from frustration.
Last week i did a sim card swap. my old sim card was 2+ years old and...
everything is fixed! no more issues, no more "no service", no more dropped calls. the phone is much faster as well.
i use a kaiser diamond rom and always run fring. no more connection issues!

well changes are that this is the problem. If your sim is that old, changes areit is a 2G sim, not 3G hance the problem you can when trying to connect to 3G. First thing i did when getting my tytn II was a sim swap

I am running the latest HTC WM 6.1 from HTC site, Europe, and have not had any problems with Vodacom.
I think your problem could be related to "tower hand-overs".
I used to experience this with my old TyTN on cooked ROMS.
I reverted back to the OEM version of WM 6.1 and all the problems were resolved.
I know a while back even Leaf had radio problems on WM 6

I've a XDA Orbit 2 from O2 Germany. A few days ago, i flashed my rom the first time.
I installed HardSPL and then I installed WM6.5 by TranMinMah but i wastn satisfied whith it. Then I chose bepe 0.67 Opera Edition. Shortly after, I recogniced, that I need a Radio driver, so I installed Polaris Radio 1.64.08.21. It all worked but my signal wast as strong as before. No signal in the train, weak in my home. Normally, I get a very strong signal. I decided to flash to Radio 1.58.26.20 but i dont recognice any changes.
Can anyone tell my, which radio to use or what to change to get a stronger signal?

I hope someone can help me because I am going crazy with my Optimus 3D My device constantly loses the 3G connection and so I don't get any notifications about new e-mails and Whatsapp messages. The icons for network strength turn white and even sometimes that happens with the wi-fi icon. I already tried rooting the device and installed a custom rom but I still have this problem. The problem mostly occurs in the office I work in as 3g and network reception is very low here. I see that the device switches between HSDPA, GPRS and 3G quite often and then most of the time loses the internet connection. It also does not reconnect when I walk around and get to an area with better reception. Sometimes switching to Airplane Mode and back helps, but this is not a very handy solution. I am really clueless where the problem could be. I am here in Frankfurt/German so normally there should be no problems with the network (I am on Vodafone). The only thing I could think of is my SIM card, because I had an iPhone 4 before and had to cut the card to the micro SIM size and now use it with an adapter. Could this be a problem? Also the app 3G reconnect did not solve this problem.
Has anybody a clue what might be wrong with my device? I am already thinking about getting a new phone

I don't know when it loses the connection, could probably happen when it turns the screen off or switches between network speeds (3G, GPRS, HSDPA). It really is a problem for me that it does not get the connection automatically back. Currently it shows almost full network reception, the "G" icon with both arrows underneath (only the left arrow pointing up turns green from time to time), but it has no internet connection. I sent me a mail to my google account via my office PC haöf an hour ago, but still no message on the phone, that there is new mail
Just try a new simcard... my guess is that it will solve your problem.. could be worth the couple euros ..

I had similar Problems with O2 in Bremen.
That happens if the phone loses the 3g(h+) signal, turning of the data connection, and let that reconnect is enough, no need to turn on airplane mode than.
Try flashing the newest baseband version, and try the prometheus rom + kernel. I still notice that the same problem happens, but it reconnects again after losing it now, and i rarely notice it that way.
Maybe you could tell us your android version, and baseband version.

Hi everyone,
thanks a lot for your answers. I have the newest firmware on it V21E and baseband is L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00. Problem is that it does not automatically reconnect when it loses the internet connection. I had this problem again the whole day. When I left the office for lunch it did not reconnect, so again I did not get the newest e-mails. Probably I will really try another SIM card with a different network provider. I never had this issue with my iPhone... Thanks a lot for the advices, hopefully something will work. Otherwise I need to get a new phone :/

For me the 3g data service goes as it likes but to reconnect i have to restart the my phone. Tried many roms as well as kernels and finally using acura 3d Max 3.1 with titan kernel solved the problem. It doesn't give up 3g connection but if i switch to edge and back to hsdpa again i have to restart. Barry also lasts and have overclocked to 1.2 ghz

got me a new SIM card with a new provider yesterday evening and so far it seems to work fine in the office. I hope it stays like this, then the problem would be solved *phew* Thanks a lot for all your help!

OK, here's the thing. I got a broken HTC One S (actually it was not broken, it was missing the antenna fix cable), so I got it, I installed it and VOILA, all good, could get the phone to pick up HSDPA signal (I even downloaded Angry Birds via 3G), but a few mins later it went to zero. Rebooting the phone or toggling airplane mode causes the phone to do the same thing again. 5 bars, HDSPA connection, but only for a few seconds. Then it drops to zero again.
EDGE works like a charm, as does GPRS. So, clearly the thing is the 3G signal receiver/antenna/i dont know. Tried every ROM from stock 4.1.1 to Liberty Sense 5.5 (going through Viper and Maximus HD), tried 1.20 and 1.35 radio and both 2.15 and 2.16 HBOOT's. Tried searching, tried Google, and I can't find an answer.
I don't know if Bilal or some other One S genious watches the general section, but guys I would be enourmously thankful if you can at least try to help me out here. Anyways, that's all, thanks in advance

P.S: I am on Movistar Argentina network, which I am 100% sure works with the HDSPA 850 network, so that shouldn't be an issue.
