Is anyone aware of an application that can softreset a PPC phone and restart it without having to go thru the process of keying in your pin code each time??
In the same way that a cash point card could be used without a PIN code to withdraw cash?
Correct me if I am wrong, I think you may be looking at a hard reset.
I'm not sure if this is what your asking but it is possible to disable asking for a pin code. But when your phone gets lost or stolen everybody will be able to use your sim...
Anyway:
Settings -> Phone
Uncheck "Require PIN when phone is used"
What I am talking about is an app like SpriteBackup which can after backing up your device restart it and aquire a GSM signal without asking for the pin code.
actually, you would need a software that is able to do soft reset and key in the pin code. none so far, but there are software thaty can key in the pin code.. like phonealarm.
Thanks ,will check it out.
If you keep the phone in flight mode then it will not ask for the PIN when restarting.

Can anybody please tell me, how to disable or change the password of the device.
I defined it some minutes ago, but it seems, that i entered a wrong pin.
The Device is still on, so i can make any changes on the registry.
Does anybody know where i can find the pin to change it or delete it?
I found already a key where the timer is stored, so one way would be, to try every possible key, but thats to much work
EDIT: I mean the 4 digit device "password", not the pin of the sim.
My OS is WM2003 SE (Blue Angel)
maybe this??
start -> settings -> personal -> lock
at least that is where i can change the pin for the device, not the sim
thanks, i know this already, but the problem is, to change it, i have to enter it first.
but, there is the problem, i don´t know it anymore
i´ve already tried serveral combinations, but they won´t works
tried this?
what about a hard reset?
I wanted to delete it without a hard reset, but now i made it.
But does anybody knows where the password is stored, it would be helpful for problems in future
a friend of mine just recently got this phone after spending some time fooling with it he managed to lock himself out of it now i told him id try n see what i can do but nothing i dont know the password neither does he does anyone know how i can open this phone or perform a hard reset to set it back to factory settings and remove it
so no one knows anything imma just tell him to take it back to the store
While you can do a soft reset by taking the battery out for a few seconds, the only way to do a hard reset on this device, to my knowledge, is through the "System tools" menu. Obviously, if you can't log in, you can't get to this menu. I would suggest talking to Verizon Wireless tech support before giving up on the phone altogether. There may be some hardware technique for doing a hard reset, or they may be able to remotely hard reset the device or clear the password settings.
if he locked it the default password is the last 4 of his phone number. so if your number is 555-1234, then your unlock code is 1234
Hello, I'd like to have prompted, only at startup, a pin request... I don't wanna set the windows mobile lock... I use CSDevCtrl and I'm fine with it.

Man... of course I wasn't talking about the sim pin, I was talking of a cell pin...! Asked just once at startup...
well if you have the sim lock then u get the same behaviour as you are looking for no ?
No at all... in that case it's still possible to use the cell... I wanna protect the cell (don't care about sim), but only at startup.
Why don't you want to use Windows Mobile Lock located in Settings? You could "almost" do what you are looking for. Your phone would be protected even if the sim is changed and if you set the lock to,for example, 12 or 24 hours you will likely have to insert the code only if you softreset or turn off your device. During normal use, the code will be asked only when you connect to PC with Activesync or WMDC..if that doesn't suit you I'm sorry I couldn't help.

Nope... I use CSDevCtrl just to have an auto screenlock WITHOUT pin every time there is a call and everytime the screen goes off.
I want still to use CSDevCtrl, but I want also a pin prompted only at startup and not during the usual usage of the autoscreenlock.
Hi,
I was changing my PIN on my Samsung Note 3. After putting in the current PIN and then putting in the new PIN. I was prompted to confirm the PIN. The "settings app" was then forced closed. I returned to the PIN change setting but my current PIN nor the new PIN that I was trying to change to worked. I then restarted my phone and I'm completely locked out.
If the PIN was not changed due to the force close of 'settings' shouldn't the PIN be unchanged? I tried all PINs I've used in the past as well as 1111,0000,1234, last 4 digits of phone number, SSN... everything but still doesn't work.
Any suggestions? I don't want to factory reset the phone. Please help! Please!
------UPDATE-------
I found that using Google's Android Device Manager I can remotely change the PIN. I can see from the website and also on the phone that the password is changing. If I change from a numberic PIN to a text password, the password input keypad changes from number only to a full keyboard. So, i'm sure that the password was changed remotely. However, the temporary password that I recent using Android Device Manager still doesn't work!!!! Can anyone help?
Hi, a family member passed away a few months ago and I was given her phone by her sister to use if I wanted. She had the phone and charger, and thats it. I stay in the UK and the phone I use is on O2. The phone she had was the Experian L but she had her phone through a contract with virgin media.
When I initally put my sim card in and turned the phone on it said 'virgin media, this phone has been reported lost/stolen'. In order to unclock it from this security lock I needed her insurance company(through virgin) to provide me with a 4 digit pin to unlock the phone. This was very hard to get as the insurance people are different from virgin media, but after a while they agreed to give me the code if I sent a copy of her death certificate in. I did this and got the code thankfully. I was told that I wouldnt be able to use my o2 simc ard in the phone because the handset was locked on Virgin. I was told if I paid £15 I would receive the unlocking code through the post in a week or so.
I did this and got a letter through the door with the instruction on for to unlock the handset. Basically its a 16digit number that I enter and the phone become unlocked. However, after all this Ive just realised I think there is a phone lock on the phone i.e. a pin she must have set herself? I think this because when I power the phone up without a sim, all I can see is the date/time, with her name underneath, and also underneath that is a keypad. When you press any button on the keypad and hit enter it says wrong pin? That happens without a sim card so I presume it is a phone pin lock she had on her phone is that correct? If so, is there any way around this? Ideally I would like to keep whatever pictures etc are on the phone however I realise that might not be possible. Ive tried to download the sony suite however it wont allow me to use the suite because it tells me on the computer I must enter the pin on the phone to continue! bit of a nightmare to be honest.
Any help/suggestions with what I can do? Many thanks
I cant unlock through Pc Companion because Pc Companion needs the screen to be unlocked before it connects the device, and I cant do that.
factory reset
Hello, do a factory reset to the Phone, but you will loose all the information on it
