help frozen pda

I own an MDA compact on t-mobile uk,
whilst on there homepage i saw a "update your MDA software"alert,
i downloaded the software and ran it.
the MDA then went off and when turned back ran a hard reset.
the MDA then runs thru the set up,when thats complete is shows a grey type screen with serail v1.02
its frozen on this screen and unuseable any effort to do anything makes a repeat cycle of the above
please help me turn my paperweight back into a pda

ur just in bootloader..go read wiki
u gotta press the reset,power and record camera btton together..thats wot i do for my 9090

the power & camera & soft-reset button will bring you in bootloader, just where you're now.
You'd better connect USB & run the update again. Something got broke the previous time, that's why you're in bootloader now.

only problem(sorry guys still learning)from the bootload screen the pc wont see the device is connected and if i try to run the device to get to a standard screen to sync it just reboots?
how do i actisync while in bootloader?

ive manged to get the pc to see the pda and ran it under a guest partnership,
once it had seent he pda, i re-ran the update,but each time it goes thru the motions then gives and error msg.
man im goin back to a normal handset next time

What rom nr are you flashing? & what's the error message?

when connectiong its says

it runs thru then stops and says
error 101:connection error

Ok that's the 1.13WWE rom, which is available sine october last year. Should be a normal rom without problems. If you never updated before & still in your warranty period, return your device.
BTW have you rebooted your PC during your sequence off tries?
Guess your no pain, but you got bad luck in upgrading this time. You did the right steps to cure everything.

Did you ever make a rom-dump of your working device? Otherwise you can try to make one now & do a SD-update.

PLease HELP..ROM update !!!

i have tired v3 wm6 update and..after the update my screen is stuck...at o2 sign..with bubbles,, the four red words appear on the screen but doesn't change anything...
i'd like to reflash back but it doesn't seem like connecting to PC via USB..
what do i do...?

and i found..
it just stopps in the boot loader mode and turns to black screeen .. and that's it...
I cna't even connect to USB so which means i can't flash back to normal..
is there any suggestions??
like resseting back up?

Try to Enter Bootloader:
Hold down the camera button and reset the device. (Boot Loader Mode is: Press Camara + Soft Reset, then release soft reset and keep pressing camara button till appear the Boot Loader.)
However, you have to write in the right post, i guess you mean the Ohlala_WWE_WM6_v3 ROM. If you had read the entire post youl'd know that this one is bad. V4 should solve the problem.

and I have connected my usb and it showed USB on the left corner ...
but the problem is...after I connect usb.. computer doesn't recognize my O2 device so I can't reflash my rom with SMart 1.
I ran the file called "upgrade_rom" for smart1 wm6 but it keeps telling me that "no device found.." so..
what should i do...
please help me...

You cannot use "upgrade_rom.bat" to flash ur device with RGB screen. The bat file is for upgrade, not for fresh install. It means that you have to install AKU2.xx NVID.exe (executable) first. The .exe file can recognize ur device via RGB screen.
After reset ur device with AKU2.x and successfully connect to the PC vis Activesync, you then can run upgrade_rom.bat.
And... don't be too panic. You have to read more.

is there an o2 version of NVID??? anywhere? i've just installed this but it says Qteck..

No it's a Qteck ROM not an O², I don't know if there is a 2.20 NVID ROM from O² here, sorry.

my phone doesn't seem like it can connect to Antisync program..

you could try this. Someone else posted it here, and when my phone stopped connecting after some update it fixed activesync. It's a switch.

Had O2 ever released HTC Prophet?
Sorry but I'm not O2 fan.
I have only Prophet so I know only Prophet.
You could go to the right thread for ur device O2 and look for the right .exe file.
PS: is it XDA Neo? If it is Prophet it should be OK.
Try holding Camera+Comm buttons during pressing reset button ur device will ask u to Format something. Press send button (green phone button) and try again.

hello there same problem here.. mine is also xda neo.. when trying to upgrade wm6 it stuck exactly same as yours..how did u fix the problem? thanx for ur advice

ROM Update Problem

I stated to update ROM but unfortunately unplugged the cable with mistake.
Now my JAM is showing only black Screen with Text USB V1.02 . What i should do now, After rebooting many time, nothing happend, same screen.
Please help

You need to flash it again:
- fully charge your magician ( remove battery cover and plug in the charger )
- after you start your magician in bootloader ( You press power button + camera, and hit reset with stylus )
- download the rom u want ( magician wiki has loads of them and dont forget to disable USB Connections on Active Sync )
- and use matupgradenoid if you have country id error.

Rom Update Problem

I had a similar problem. I tried to flash the ext ROM with NZ Vodaphone and it didn't finish. The Phone would boot then hard reset. I tried to reflash with the ROM file from PC but it keep failing. Luckily I have a spare Jam. I dump the ROM of the old phone and reflashed it to the broken one. To dump the ROM of a good Imate Jam goto http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=230151
Once you have done this, Reboot your phone into the ROM flash menu with the SDCARD that you used from the good phone into yours.
I think from there it sees the ROM files and gives you options to reflash.

Qtek S200 G3, flashed with G4 , please heelp!

So here's the deal, I have a Qtek S200, stuck in tri-color screen.
The screen says IPL 2.10, SPL 2.20.0001.
I have been told that this is a G4 device that was flashed with a G4 IPL.
Any number of flashing tools I use tells me Invalid tool, file open, error etc etc.
It appears that my device is toast.
IS there a way to revive this little beauty>?

Oh and also I was told the Oipro had a solution , but since PM and other ways to contact, no response.

Echo,,, echo echo echo.. hello, hello hello....

you can't flash a g3 with g4 upgrader. the program don't allow you to do this..
if your spl / ip is like x.xx.0001 is a g4 if is x.xx.0000 is a g3
you can instal a g3 update on bootloader (the 3 colors screen)
just connect to usb port and start the program/try with novendor update. ( the program not the ms dos)

So in Tri-color screen it says the following:
IPL 2.10
SPL 2.20.0001, this should make it a G4 chip then.
On to do the NVID update now...
Ok downloaded the Upgrade_HardSPL_G4 tool and ran it.
It went rather quickly and ended in a completely green screen
att he top it says:
IPL 2.10
SPL 2.20.0001
Will do some more attempts.

So I downloaded Prophet Shadow 2.0 rom and ran the G4 upgrade RUU.
During the flashing progress the Bar on the Phone whent RED a couple of times, it eventually went to 100% (being red for about a minute), once the flash completed the phone rebooted in to the sam old tri-color screen again,.
What do to now??

did you try to recover the device yet by flashing a NVID ROM before flashing a cooked rom? try downgrading it first before hardSPL.. let me find links for you to read..

Downloaded the Prophet's 2.20.7.34_2.20_7114_02.69.21 Rom
Launched the G4 RUU, and I get Error 260 Update Error ;(

Bad USB Cable (Oups), I flashed the G4 completely (again the progress bar on the phone goes red at times and then green again) once completed it reboots to the same BootSplash (Tri-color) screen without any difference.

did you tried the other USB ports at the rear end of your CPU??
did you tried the recovery prcedures stated on the files i gave you to read?
if you have followed those there should be no problem bro..
try reading them back again and this time carefully...
and before flashing remove battery.. make sure its charged 50% or more... return battery, do hard reset when its on boot loader try connecting USB make sure you see a USB sign on the lower left of your screen... when RUU starts check the upper right corner of the screen of your phone if theres an RUU sign < optional, its just like a USB sign on the lower left of screen>
your phone should work if all procedures have been done...

Well this 'ol PZ I have only have one USB port. I have another PZ but is Vista.
I leave the phone on USB Charge over night so it should have enough juice.
I will go back and re-read the instructions, but this is not my first HTC device... but I may have missed something.

Status report.
Downloaded the file as referred to in the post.
Once I run it, it stops at 80% RED bar on the phone.
On the PC (RUU 2.5.2) it says the following:
Error 326: Invalid Command
This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA phone. Please check your NBF file
What now?

Thanks for the tip, I downloaded this ROM, ran the G4 RUU file.
It went through (again with a red bar at times on the device).
The PC said it all went successfully, and the phone reboots to tri-color screen again, SPL and IPL still the same.. DAMN!!
Any other suggestions or should I just declare it bricked?

About 80% in I get "INAVLID COMMAND"

Hi,
I have the same problem. My imate was G3 ( I learn it after appyling the G4 batch ) I need to recover process and files from G4 to G3. I tried to recover by RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID.exe (novendor)
But, On the PC (RUU 2.5.2) it says the following:
Error 326: Invalid Command
This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA phone. Please check your NBF file

Well Here's my story....
I was an Universal guy for about 5 years, and now I find myself stuck with a Prophet....
Don't take me wrong, I realy loved my Uni, and the prophet seems a good phone...
So after using it for a few days, I came back to this forum, and entered the prophet world...
Without spending the minimum time needed to search and learn how to properly upgrade the phone, or even tp know if it was a G3 or G4, I downloaded and flashed my prophet with a new ROM...
All went fine, and I got stuck in the bootloader screen, for about an hour... Then I finally found out how to properly HardReset the device, and now....
Well,... now I'm stuck in the splash "Inovation" screen and nomatter what I do, I just can't enter the bootloader....
After readding a bit...yah I know I should have done that before, and not after... I realize that my battery may be the culprit for not entering bootloader and so I plugged it in to the wall charger...NO charging light came on...
I know I don't need to write the next few words, but here they go...
HELP!!! PLEASE!!!
EDIT:
I needed the SIM card in my prophet, so I took it out, and also took the SD card...
Then I decided to re-try entering the bootloader...and....SUCCESS!!!
Now doing the RIGHT procedures to upgrade my prophet...

i tryed RUU rom flash for SD mode :S first time boot screen frozed i backed my old SD rom version its work fine :S an i tryed RUU rom for RUU mode install but when its come %80 its say ERROR 276 UPDATE EROOR pls help :S
note:i think my battery lower than %50 and take this error its possible? but RUU start rom update :? now im charging battery for my other herald

i cant hard reset beavuse my pda open always bootloader mode and up-right corner have a RUU im now try SD card format :S
