Ok so i killed my magican trying an update.. plz help :(

I followed AM’s How To on Pocket PC’s PDF file to the letter..
Everything worked fine up until it says 'Download Fail Checksum Fail'
Which is even what it says would happen in the pdf.
So now it just sits there.. i try and do a soft reset it comes straight back to USB v1.00.
I try hard reset same result..
I try all other buttons they do nothing..
So i think ok.. ill put back on my backup that i took from my o2 before i started..
Though i dont how to change my nb1 file into a nbf file.
Little help.. this is no fun at all

I was upgrading my pw10a1 with especial rom for unlock it and process failed at the end, now pda don´t turn on and cant be reconogiced by activesync.
I have also problem, i made backup inside SD card but now don´t know how to restore, or how to upload new rom using serial or usb cable, i have both.
Only shows empty progress bar on display when you plug in the USB base.
PLease!! Help, pda is dead

This usually happens when you try to install a corrupt ROM. Your Maigican is stuck in bootlader mode. There is a lot of help about this problem in the forum. Your PDA is not dead ;-)
If I were you I would try copying the ROM to SD and put it back in the PDA. This should make the PDA start downloading the ROM from SD again. If you did BigStorage make sure you replaced the header properly before copying the ROM to SD again.

Please, post some links because i already searched and found nothing clear.
How to revive pw10a1 after rom upgrade failure? Now can enter in Bootloader Wallaby ok, and says GSM ok.
What to do?

uvedovle, I think you'd be better off in the Wallaby forum than the Magician's. You should be able to find more help there. I personally don't know anything about the Wallaby.

ill try again however right now i cant seem to get my pda to turn on..
iam assuming the battery has gone flat..
it wont charge via usb.. if i remove the backcover i get a red light on the pda however the battery is not getting warm so i dont think that is charging it either..
i find it strange that just because it has no ROM on it that it wont charge..

i am using imate jamin da problem with my cell is
i upgraded my rom to qtek 2.20000 it was working absolutely fine with 8 icons in my comm manager then i upgraded to RUU-Prophet-G4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-b1 and it has severely damaged my cell as my phone my phone hangs white booting it shows me the colour screen with
IPL 1.00 and SPL 2.20.0001
on the Screen
OS and GSM is not displayed
I tried rom update several times but its not working
i tried to update my rom through boot loader mode but again failed
i even tried to format my phone but it gives FAT16 format failed
I even tried to upgrade to jesters RUU-Prophet-G4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-r1 but still its not working and givng same problem
now i dont understand what to do
guys please give me Advice and solution for this g3 g4 Problem
i even tried sending my phone to service center but stupid people dont know how to solve it and they returned me back

You have bricked your phone... You just can't install a G4 rom on a G3 phone... Different chipsets are the cause of the problem... Sorry

You'll have to wait to see if Jesterz manages to produce a goldcard...
BTW a goldcard it's basicly a mem card with a rom in it that autoinstalls itself thus no need for the usb connection... This fits your case cause you don't have an active usb conection because of the driver/chip conflict...

I have the same problem i tried to flash my g3 with jesters RUU-Prophet-G4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-r1 by mistake and it was ok until the end of process when i finich it with congratulations and bla bla my device stills in the bootloader mode all the time. I can now connect and start to flash but when it comes to 80% of the process it stops with error 360 wrong command. Pleas is there any help for some kind of downgrade flash or so because it can only get boootloader but never start with software. When I try with jesters RUU-Prophet-g3-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-r1 the whole process finish ok but the phone stills in bootloader. The same thing is also with RUU-Prophet-g4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-r1 I can not execute step2

that's why you should read the "sticky" first before you do it.
I have a Dopod 818Pro from a friend of mine but in Chinese ROM, so I have to read a whole nite the sticky and found out what is my Dopod version, finally I found it is G3, so I did all the steps, from unlocked the CID till upgrade to Jester latest ROM for G3 and skip the G4.

Yes i realy know that it was my fault and my big mistake so i vould not do it again but now i need help because it stills in bootloader i i can even start flashing the device that gives me hope that some kind of recovery is maybe possible.

Yes i also commited this mistake its my fault but i really need help my device still enters into bootloader mode.

jesterz's gold card isn't working yet, and for now it's only for G3...

My hardware is G3 but flashed by mistake with G4 and now is in bootloader mode so i can start flashing but i do not know with what and how. Could you please explain me how and where can i find and use goldcard for g3 if possible Thanks

Yes sure i tried to flash rom from jesters for g3 which is for my device instead jesterz g4 what i used by mistake and it passed ok but when i restart it stills in bootloader mode only, so i could flash but do not know which firmware should i use

i've the same symptomes as mjankovic and aarif_ziaee, (bricked my phone)
but the only things i think i've forgot, is to cid unlock my device before doing the step 2

(witch is not an auto installable tile, it's a folder containing exe, dll, bat and nb file)

Please Help! My JAMin is dead!

help... i downloaded smart1's (normal, not clean) update, and launched UPGRADE_ROM.DAT from PC... it said initializing and everything... and then it reached to "copying something.dll' ... i waited 10 minutes or so then i got something like:
"error cant copy ....... because connection closed from remote... something like that."
i did NOT touch the imate during the process
and now when i turn on my imate i get the HTC with white background for a second but then it freezes on the blue "i-mate" screen... displaying:

SPL 2.13.0001
GSM 02.20.21
OS 10.1.0.811
when i connect it to pc, windows does recognise and install my device but ActiveSync doesnt connect.
i tried removing the battery then putting it back in then pressing and holding the conn. button along with the power button and i DO get to the bootloader screen (with three colors) and then when i plug in the usb i get a small 'usb' word at the bottom of the screen, but still, ActiveSync doesnt connect... i tried installing the update again... but the program doesnt find my device
how can i make it work again ??? plz help me

Just BEWARE that the rom you download is for your phone, it will be for a G3 or a G4, if you get it wrong, your phone is DEAD.

Same problem for me, but I solved today:
I connected the phone to pc in bootloader mode, the pc see the phone and says ppc usb sync, but the activesync not started.
I tried to install a qtek official rom by dangaard (you can find it here: http://www.megaupload.com/it/?d=4ELWL078 ) and I solded the problem !

I had same problem but in my case with downgrade from WM6 to ASERG rom, i have downloaded RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID.exe and that fixed my problem.

(i bought a HD) and the S200 died...... It is in the bootloader and I have tried everything.
1. Pressing all buttons = Format failed
2. Spl can be loaded again, but no with a exe.
3.All roms can be instaled (but not al exe). If a rom installed 1
file (exe) it doest not work. I installed al least 20 rom (wm5,wm6 ect...)
All can be installed and at the end you get 100 % and finished......
I opened the S200 and the button on/of seems to be ok.
4. In the bootloader sceen I get :
IPL2.09.001
SPL 2.G4.4PDA
I am desperared because I am fixing it since a few weeks with....no result.
PLEASE, I NEED SOME HELP
(PD I am from Belgium and living in Spain)

Please need some help ( a lot)

Try to flash the NVID from Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353547,
if your Prophet works fine after that, you may flash any rom you like ,

Thanks for your comments but I think that I do not understand it all.
My S200 is in the bootlader and I did the following (your manual) :
The pda goes automaticly in the bootloader when on, with the USB words
in the screen :
1.When I try to to inslall a spl , it stays in a green screen with ipl and spl data.Nothing can be installed until baterie is removed
2. Tried to install the NVID but stops ant 80 % with error 326.
3. Tried to install Lazy tool : I put the nbf file in the lib file and install the rom
100 % and I reboot in the bootscreen (fustrating)
4. Tried to insall WM5 and the same like the lazy tool instalation.
Never activesync is connect.That why (I think) that somo roms can not be installed, like a wm5 only os.
Any sugestion ??

1. you may safe your prophet ONLY if you successfully flash the NVID, (just don't look at the connection status between PC and Prophet, as it was forced to bootloader mode, just run the NVID and flash dtraight until it ends, be awared that, NVID needs time to flash, sometimes needs more than 5 minutes, so ... wait for it ! )
2. I hope you can make it or you need to bring your prophet to factory due to abnormal flashing (wrong flashing)...

mine wasnt on the software prob but hardware...

try bringing your Mobile to any qualified technician near your place.. something might have been wrong inside... like mine its the comm and cam buttons that are grounded thats why its always in bootloader.. no matter what software i flash its still the same...

Most of the time I get the Invalid update tool error.
Maybe the person in this thread has the same problem I have.
I have a G3 Prophet (Qtek S200), that has been flashed with a G4 Rom.
Not it is stuck in tri-color screen and nothing seems to help.
the prohpet tools I downloaded gives me errors and there is little documentation of where to put rom files etc. Maybe you know?

mess up upgrade code (G3 and G4) ... sorry... doomed.

yes in my country its cheap.. coz something inside short circuited and that keeps my camera button pressed and taking pictures of his own < scary > if you cant fix this try to visit an authorized technician that can fix this for you...

i got in bootloader mode n upgrade radio rom to 1.12 use this rom NL_11300_131_11200.exe.
i deleted nk.nbf, and ms_.nbf, so just radio.nbf
upgrade success!
then i try to upgrade with the same rom(NL_11300_131_11200.exe) without radio.nbf. fail it say error id country.ok then i try the other rom.
JAM_WWE_11200_128_11210_ship.exe
i deleted just radio.nbf,because i just want to upgrade the rom.
at ext rom upgrade it success.but when maybe about 30% uprade rom,it fail. and say error.i forgot the error.
and my i-mate dead. :'(
if i put usb cable n open the back case(baterai still in side or not) the lamp red is on.
but when i closed the back case.it turned off.
nothing happen,no indicated the pda was still connected.activesync has no sound.usb on device manager didnt indicated there was a pda connection.
so??
what must i do now?

i mean u have checked the button 1 by 1.(camera it self,power,then reset button?)

if not make it sure.dissambler it.check all the button.i can say all of the models of all pda are the same way to hard reset (as long as i know)

the problem has been solved.i flash it many times so the batterai was too low.in brick condition, batterai cant be charged.so i changed it with other batterai.its ok now.thx for the rom.
