Hi,
I read somewhere in this forum the following procedure:
extract the Upgrade.exe file (use WinRAR)
edit the RUU.conf file
Add the following line
[CHECKCEID_TYPE]=1
Save changes
Now run BaUpgradeUt.exe
It will say that it will upgrade to this version.
However when the device enters bootloader mode the upgrade util gives a country error. (Don't panic)
Simply restart BaUpgradeUt.exe while the device is still in it's cradle.
Now it will install without a country error.
TESTED ON QTEK9090 AND IMATE JAM: ALWAYS WORKED !!!

Good suggestion, unfortunately it won't work with the 1.11 Finnish ROM.

Do you know how to flash a 1.11 Finisch rom? Or maybe someone else?
ok what i do to upgrade and works good for me..... i use this file MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and then follow the steps which italos stated but without editing the RUU.conf file.... so use the mentioned file and follow these steps:

while it's in the bootloader mode (black screen with some writing in it" Serial v1. or whatever")

Now it will install without a country error."
and it works in the finnish ROM cuz my device is Imate Jam and i just flashed it this morning with the above steps........

guyz ive got xdaII wm2003se.......want to upgrade to wm2005 getting country error code ?? any idea what should i do ?

I have a hand-me-down Xda II mini, which according to the printing on the case was originally issued by O2, but which currently has the following Dutch Qtek ROM installed on it:
ROM version: 1.13.00 WWE
ROM date: 08/18/05
Radio version: 1.13.00
Protocol version: 1337.43
ExtROM version: 1.12.550 WWE
I'm trying to "upgrade" to the latest O2 ROM version:
ROM: 1.11.00 WWE
Radio: 1.11.00
ExtROM: 1.11.922 WWE
MMS: 2.0.0.22
I've followed the instructions from Italos to the letter (twice), but still keep getting the same Country ID error.
Any suggestions on why this is, and more importantly, on how to fix this?

Does any one know how to go around this? I have MDA Compact II and installed GERMAN ROM and now I'm Try to Image it to English ROM. But stuck on ERROR 294

I want to install New Charmer Rom available 2.6.2 from UK to have it in Enlgish but when I tried to install I get an error invalid Vendor ID.
Need help.
I presume you are doing the ROM upgrade via the official ROM update facility.
Anyway, for you case, you may need to do it 'unofficially' using aWizard to flash a Charmer old English ROM (available in the FTP is someone didn't delete it) and update it to the new ROM using the official one.
Hi there.
I wanted to update to the latest ENG rom on my S200, downloaded it of MyQtek, but when i tryed to upgrade, it said "Wrong Vendor ID". After a search i found that had to update first with Aku 2.2 NVID, done that.
Then i tryed again, and it said the same, then i took the nk.rom from the original package and replaced the same on NVID package, and it did the upgrade, but now i have:
IPL 2.10
SPL 2.20.000
GSM 02.47.21
ROM 2.20.7.34
Where is the upgrade ?!
As per subject, I'm kindly looking for a solution, since I need to create a Dial Up connection.
Before upgrading to rom 2.0.3tx, itwas very easy. Right now, if I have to create a dial up connection, after I type the phone number, i cannot proceed to the next step.
Any help folks?
