Hi Guys,
I just saw this on ebay and apparently he is selling FREE software available here on ebay. I think you should all contact ebay and let them know. I know someone who purchased form him and it was the same software 'masked' as his.

users ebay id is salosakramtrade. I think that is bang out of order.!!!!
I personally don't see the problem. We all know and support this site, if people can't be bothered looking for the info they need then surely it is thier loss if they pay for what is generall free?
Statement from seller
I wrote to this quy. Here is the answer.
Artikel: UNLOCK SOFTWARE SX66, XDA 2 2s 2i, MDA 3, M2500, +more (5810881348)
Sir,
what we sell is not the software but a detailed procedure DEVELOPED by US and support...
THERE IS NO SHAME AT ALL IN THIS!

I had an issue with ebay before with something I developed that somebody else was selling. They aren't interested in helping. I just worked on a better version for everybody that had supported me! We should have the same attitude i think, forget the idiots that waste money on ebay buying "free" software, lets develop and support each other on here.
ill bet there selling the link to the instructions and the download link if they are selling the software developed by this site then the intuectual property still belongs to this site
Well, I thought its a joke: Download protectino at handango is $6.99 FOR EVERY SINLGE PIECE OF PURCHASED SOFTWARE? At the beginnig I thought its $6.99 for ALL purchased software.
Anyone wants to start a Handango.com boykott? I would gladly join since I bought 70 applications with Handango and would have to pay hundreds of dollars to be able to download them again.
Any other good vendors? Pocketgear?
Handango is rubbish. Use pocketgear. They let you download your purchased applications whever you want, again.
I stopped using Handango about 2 years ago...they're just awful.
Unfortunately, once in a great while you find SW that is only available from them (not even the developer!) in which case you take the risk.
9/10 though I go
1) developer's website (Paypal rocks)
2) pocketgear (or smartphone.net)
I can't believe anyone would use Handango these days. The site itself it just an awful mess and a b*tch to navigate.

By far I think pocket gear is the best. I too thought the so called 'protecton plan' was for all software I purchase. How could they think of this!

I recently received notification of an update for software I purchased through Handango. There were problems with getting my free upgrade. However I have to say they were very quick in responding to my contact and were very helpful and polite. They also followed up to make sure everything was ok and gave me a 10% discount on future purchase.
I did take the opportunity in feedback to comment on the download protection fee as an issue that seems unfair and that they may be losing business to the likes of pocketgear.
I think sometimes we complain to the wrong people and we may forget that actually a company may genuinely wish to serve their customers and may listen to well meant criticism. Certainly Handango unlike many organisations were very responsive to my on-line contact. Many companies don't even bother to reply to on-line requests for help or complaints.
That's not to say that out of the 200,000 members here that there will be no horror stories though.

You surely have a point there. In any case the protection plan is optional.
I think this is terrible, check this out....

OMG That is just hillarious. Cant wait to see what Faria does lol
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This person now says the item location is in Amsterdam, same clown tho!

Everyone sending ebay nice little letters? I did
Well...while I disagree with the sellers from an ethical view, the only thing they are doing illegal is using Faria's name as long as they purchase a legal license for Widnows Mobile 6 (if that's possible?). There are other ads selling this for up to $80 so far and they don't mention and rom cooker by name.
Very VERY unethical though...
Fraud On Ebay
There is so much illegal and unethical about this it makes me sick!!!!!!!!

What is funny is that a couple of months ago i got a message ont his board for support for NTS vanilla that came on the guys phone when he bought it on ebay. He tried to tell me that I had to support him. I told him I didnt and he never replied. LOL.
Edited out for personal reasons. I don't want a future plea for help to be ignored ... "Oh it's that guy that stuck up for the eBay @$$h0!e. I ain't helping him!!!".
On that Pimp TMobile one on ebay this is an actual quote...
"It frustrates me that technology it held back by the greed inherrant in consumerism and so I release application..."
The only one that is greedy in my mind is him...Much thanks goes out to all of the rom cookers here and other helpers. I have a WM6 device and generally know what to do if something happens now. Again thank you to you all that are not like this individual....

ROFL omg.
i thought you are serious for a while.
AFAIK This guy is doing nothing illegal (apart from referencing to Faria).
It IS unethical yes.
But arent there allways cheap bastards around like this one. For a lot of phones the unlock s/w is 'free', but still numerous people sell it as a service and charge up to 20 euro for it.
They make money using the knowledge of others (of which a lot are the active members on this forum) AND they mis-use the lack of knowledge a lot of phone owners simply have.
I would say 'ban him from ebay' goes a bit far, but cant we simply take him out of business by just starting another auction with reference to the right threads and not charge at all?? That WILL teach him.
i will vote yes ;P
The worst part...he is making money off the hard work of people on this forum.
I saw one auction had 5 bids and was near $80.00
I mean seriously...using upgrade discounts you can almost buy a whole new phone for that price.
So it makes one wonder...who is the bigger idiot. The guy selling the labor of others, or the people who buy it?
This, my friends, is how Bill Gates became Bill Gates.
I bought my G-tab online Nov. 1 via PayPal, received the tablet, and assumed the transaction went through. I just checked and they never took the money! The transaction expired Friday and is listed as "Canceled" now.
Anyone ever experienced this? I kinda want to call them to see why they didn't take the money. But, I kinda don't wanna tempt fate and look a $398.99 gift horse in the mouth either! LOL!
Thoughts???
It may sound strange and ethical, but I would call them.
call me whatever you like but I would most definitely not call them.

Not that easily... if they called me about it that would be different, it was their mistake. call it karma for having such a piece of **** return policy... I'm going under the assumption that you bought it from sears online. if it was from an individual or something my morals might come into play

That's interesting considering you've probably intentionally voided your product warranty by making software mods using roms illegally ported from other devices. An probably side loade d hundreds of apks for which you didn't pay the developer and most likely skimmed from a wares or torrent site, or Applanet.net.
Sound like a huge case of situational ethics to me buddy. Pick a position. If you feel so much guilt about things, delete your xda account and keep it moving.
id let them know, personally. when you start taking an active role in karma, as another stated in this thread, then karma starts taking an active role in your life. ive had way too many run-ins with karma to tempt fate again.
but hey, thats just me.

that's actually not even a valid argument except for installing non-paid for apps.
What you do to a device you own is your choice. You can flash anything you want to it if you choose....as long as you don't expect a warranty replacement if you screw it up. If I want to flash my toaster oven with the firmware from my microwave......more power to me. But when my toaster oven no longer works, it's my fault not the manufacturers.
Now getting a toaster oven you didn't pay for is a totally different argument (the original poster's).
Sorry OP, but it's called theft of a material item. You knew that you didn't pay for it, but are keeping it anyways. Of course, many companies tack on extra charges for services and steal from consumers, so it's a gray area. I guess if you look at it from the standpoint of "business is business" then it's fair. Dunno what to say.
Thanks for the input. All is well. I'm returning the device & will let them figure out what to do. Anyone in the Richmond, VA area looking for a clearance item, check the Virginia Center Commons Sears location later this week.
Good call... You are doing the right thing.... Why are you returning?

Thanks. I also have an Archos 101 8gb that I've been comparing the last week. Sticking with the 101 and awaiting the 2.2 update.
I can tell you have good morals, why else post that you got it lol.If you honestly intended on keeping it, you shouldn't or wouldn't have said anything to anyone.

Yes, not calling them and taking a free GTab will help our economy. /sarcasm
It happened to me, I called to ask about my order being placed and available, shortly after I was charged. I had received my pickup email already, so I'm sure if I had picked up the order and said nothing, it would have not been charged.
In a perfect world, when you called to tell them about the error they should have said "we appreciate your honesty and we will not charge you because of it, consider this a gift". You win, and they win as you would be more likely to be a return customer.
mod edit:
no talking about IMEI changing period.
unlock pros
Did you ever got your money refunded. Or what ever transpired here? I did mailed a device to them for imei fix, but cannot get a hold of them to see what its happening.

The Unlock Pros = The Scam Pros
They've done the same thing to me. They got me to send my $900 phone in for IMEI repair after they've screwed it up remotely. They use a UPS Store mailbox as shipping address.
Once they got the phone they started ignoring my emails and phone calls. When I finally got someone with the username "Scott" one their website live chat, he was rude first and later mocked me, called me stupid, dumb and all the f words for asking about my phone.
Never do business with these guys. They are thieves and they continue to steal phones because they assume people won't waste their time and money to sue them for stealing their cell phones. At least that's what the Scott guy told me after insulting me online. Also they think or assume your phone is stolen so you won't do anything if they steal from you.
They do provide the remote unlock and IMEI repair but this is just their way to make their business look legitimate. In reality the look for opportunities to have you ship your phone in. For example they will intentionally screw up the phone then as you to ship it in.
By the way, they will show you a mail label to make you think that they'll ship your phone back to you soon. This is just a trick, Kiss your phone goodbye if you've made the mistake like me to ship your phone to these scammer.
Just so you know(no offense) but to unblacklist means to hack into the phones database. And I feel really sorry for you. Hope you get your money back.

Update:
Exactly like this scumbag told me, Paypal will not refund intangible goods. This pos "merchant ' had bragged to me about that & told me I'd never get my money back.
Paypal did refuse, at first... but they changed their minds after I sent 'em the tape of the guy they gave my money too threatening me and my kids.... (Thank goodness fro rooted phones!) I may have also mentioned that I would report them (paypal) to the Office of the Inspector General for aiding in interstate criminal this and that, extortion, etc etc.
The next day, I got an email saying Paypal had refunded my money from Paypal funds.
They did not take my money back from the Unlock Pros AFIK. The Unlock Pros is one scumbag ripoff artist using Paypal to do it.

But on THIS site we do not discuss anything to do with IMEI changing for any reason, this includes services or hack methods.
Closing this up.
