Unlocking Boot-loader for SM-N986U - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

I've looked around the web for hours and still no luck on any paid or free services to get my phone's boot-loader unlocked. From what I have researched, the BL is v4.
Is there anyone who is verified to unlock my boot-loader phone? Willing to pay money for your time.

Bootloaders cannot be unlocked remotely, and Snapdragon bootloaders cannot be unlocked period.
See these instructions
The "key combo" to get into device unlock mode is usually this:
Shut device down and disconnect cable
Hold both Volume buttons, do not press Power
While holding Volume buttons down, connect USB cable
Device should start with a prompt asking whether you want to enter download mode or device unlock mode

[Q] HTC Desire doesn't boot after aborting OTA Android update

Yesterday, my brother was updating Android OTA on his HTC Desire S. During the installation, he got impatient and wanted to abort the update. Because he couldn't find a cancel button, he decided to remove the battery. This indeed aborted the update but left him with a phone without a properly installed OS.
The phone doesn't boot up anymore. In fact, it doesn't respond at all. Not even if I try a hard reset (volume down + power button).
Is there something left to try?
Oops Not the wisest course of action by your bro there.
Am I correct in assuming that you mean from a powered-off state, holding the Vol- key and pressing the power button doesn't do anything?
If you connect the phone to the mains charger, do you get the charging light appear on the phone still?
I guess the biggest question here would be - was this an unmodified phone (i.e. not been 'S-Offed', rooted etc? If so then you may find the best course of action is to return it for official repair - if he's not had it very long then take it back to the shop he bought it from, otherwise go through the Mobile Phone Network's helpline for it to be repaired. Just tell them that it was doing an OTA and failed - don't mention getting impatient though.

No, it doesn't respond to the charger or the USB cable.

Here's the catch, he got the phone second-hand from a friend abroad who had it lying around. Therefore, going back to the shop isn't really an option.
I guess he permanently bricked his phone then?
I would suspect that, if it's not even responding to a mains charger, that it is toast - but maybe somebody can correct me on this?

HELP! Power Button Stuck "On" RMA

Hello all!
I've had my nexus 5 for about 8 months now and have had no problems with it! However just yesterday I turned my phone off and the power button got stuck down in the "On" position. So now the phone is completely inoperable. Everytime I plug it in to the charger it just repeatedly cycles on and off over and over. If i hold down the volume down button it goes to recovery and then immediately exits out and continues its pattern.
So I called google and got an RMA on the phone. However there are two things I'm worried about:
One I unlocked the bootloader as soon as i got the device in case I wanted to root later (Never really ended up rooting... been happy on the stock roms for awhile.) So now I'm worried google will charge me for the new phone because I unlocked the bootloader even though it's just a hardware issue. And second of all I'd really like to get some of my files back off of the phone... I have some rom saves and files that don't get backed up to the cloud and It would kind of suck to lose some of those.
Is there any chance to recover those files with the power button like this? Or to somehow disable to power button so that I can relock the bootloader and reset the tamper flag and snag a few files real quick?
Thanks... I'll try to respond quickly however i'm majorly crippled without any cell phone
It has proven that google dont care about unlocked bl and root
That's actually amazing news! Definitely puts my mind to rest!
Any chance for some sort of data recovery without ruining my warranty? I mean i could probably pull the emmc somehow (where theres a will..) but that seems like a recipe for disaster.

LS755 Stuck on Firmware Update screen

I was following a guide on how to unlock the bootloader, and read a couple different variants on how to get to bootloader mode. I turned the phone off, held the volume up key, and plugged the usb cable (already attached to PC) in the phone, and it went to a Firmware Update screen. And it's been stuck there for a bit now, can't reset the phone or do anything. Help?
Nevermind I fixed it, how do you delete posts?

Hmm, I don't really remember ;P Maybe try variants of holding the power button and volume keys for long periods of time, while charging? I gave up on the phone once I cracked the screen and as well as determining it's most likely not rootable without some hardware they sell online to root phones. It was a nice phone for the money until I found out about LeEco. I'd recommend their phones, but I switched to metroPCS since the bands are different.

What have you tried so far just to eliminate redundant responses. The main thing would be to try and re flash the latest official release of oreo.

So if you press the power key the phone shuts off? Then you press it again the phone goes directly to that screen? Are you able to use the recovery key combo when the phone is powering on or does it go straight to that message as soon as the phone is turned on? Is your phone recognized by your PC in anyway?

yeah if i press any key the phone goes off and back on while it's being plug in with a usb cable and the message appears on the screen again "press any key to turn off". I've tried all the key, power on +volume up, power on + volume down, all the three keys combine but no luck
and the problem is that my phone was purchased from ebay so i cant even rma with google. it's sad. phone is 3 days old

Does the pc recognize it as anything? What does it say in Device manager when you have it plugged into your computer? This I would say is probably an RMA type of situation.
And eBay is usually on the buyer's side if you ask for their help getting a refund. (Next time spend the extra money and buy from Google - their RMA procedure [which I used, but later found out I really didn't need] is almost trivial. [It depends on how much tape you have available, and how difficult it is for you it is to mail a package.])
If it would boot into the bootloader it would be easy, even if the rest of the firmware was corrupted.

This is also a unique case from what I can tell because I was unable to find any other mention of this issue. Could be something to look into. ITs probably in some sort of download mode like what happens when you brick a device but I thought these to be unbrickable. Guess not.
No, just install Magisk and TWRP and lock the bootloader. From what I've heard (I won't try it), that results in a hard brick. (Well, not hard, hard. It's a Snapdragon, so if you can find the right ROM file, it should be flashable with Qualcom's tool.)

Phones don't come from the Google store with the bootloader unlocked, so that statement is false. Secondly, a few posts down you say you got it on Ebay and can't RMA. So which is it? One of those assertions is obviously incorrect. If you did get it on Ebay and it was in working condition before you started screwing around then you are SOL unless Google will have pity on you. If you got it from the Google store with the bootloader unlocked then you have a case with them that they sent you a refurbished phone when you paid for a new one. Clear this up for us will you?

Question Well I'm f'd. No fastboot, adb etc.

Well I successfully used pixel flasher tool. But then I wiped and `fastboot update" SparkOS.. I get bootanimation...for a split second. Then blackhead. And now I have no fastboot, recovery adb etc.? Any help greatly appreciated. Coming from last 6 phones being Oneplus devices so very lost here., 🫠

Volume down when booting for bootloader mode, then Google's Android flash tool to return to stock?
If you can't get it to start by doing pressing and holding different button combinations and you have an alternative phone to use for a week and a half, it may make sense to use your RMA/warranty. There is a chance the hardware is damaged and it is, given when the phone came out, within the return window.

No hard key combinations give me any thing(dootloader, fastboot, adb etc)
Few questions.
What update were you running? November or December?
-November is needed
Next, are you stuck in a endless bootloop? The newer Pixels have a looooooooooooong power button press. If you're in a bootloop, you can plug the device up, get to the boot animation, let it go black and when that happens, just hold volume down for a good 20-30 seconds maybe(?), then you should be greeted with the bootloader.

I am having the same issue on stock and I didn't have this before on past builds of Android 13
The Android Flash Tool bricked my phone. First I got the "Your device is corrupt" error. When I tried to keep flashing it to fix the problem, it eventually hard bricked. Holding down all 3 buttons for 30 seconds got me an incredibly brief flicker of the screen, but that's it. Not even a charging indication.
Chatting with Google support got me a new phone (replacement).

For me, they gave me the option of paying up front for a new phone, then they would refund me once they received the bricked phone. If you can handle the pending charge on your credit card, you can get your hands on a replacement phone sooner.

It was a hold for me, so you're not actually being billed for it iirc.

Just sucks that it happens that way. I wish it only happened if they didn't receive the device. Earlier this year, as old as the Pixel 4 XL is, I had an RMA, and they put a hold for I think it was $899. Like, sheesh... if they didn't receive the broken one, they were gonna charge me that much in 2022?
