Volume down when booting for bootloader mode, then Google's Android flash tool to return to stock?
If you can't get it to start by doing pressing and holding different button combinations and you have an alternative phone to use for a week and a half, it may make sense to use your RMA/warranty. There is a chance the hardware is damaged and it is, given when the phone came out, within the return window.

No hard key combinations give me any thing(dootloader, fastboot, adb etc)
Few questions.
What update were you running? November or December?
-November is needed
Next, are you stuck in a endless bootloop? The newer Pixels have a looooooooooooong power button press. If you're in a bootloop, you can plug the device up, get to the boot animation, let it go black and when that happens, just hold volume down for a good 20-30 seconds maybe(?), then you should be greeted with the bootloader.

I am having the same issue on stock and I didn't have this before on past builds of Android 13
The Android Flash Tool bricked my phone. First I got the "Your device is corrupt" error. When I tried to keep flashing it to fix the problem, it eventually hard bricked. Holding down all 3 buttons for 30 seconds got me an incredibly brief flicker of the screen, but that's it. Not even a charging indication.
Chatting with Google support got me a new phone (replacement).

For me, they gave me the option of paying up front for a new phone, then they would refund me once they received the bricked phone. If you can handle the pending charge on your credit card, you can get your hands on a replacement phone sooner.

Just sucks that it happens that way. I wish it only happened if they didn't receive the device. Earlier this year, as old as the Pixel 4 XL is, I had an RMA, and they put a hold for I think it was $899. Like, sheesh... if they didn't receive the broken one, they were gonna charge me that much in 2022?

I know this had been posted all over this forum but I can't for the love of me find a way solve this. By phone won't boot, nothing comes up in the screen everything is black. This happened while trying to do the 3 button fix.
This is what I have tried so far:
All the possible combinations of buttons
Trying to get it to connect with adb on 3 different computers
Tried to see if the usb connection was read by the linux kernel
And nothing...
At this point the only thing I haven't tried is the Jig method that I will try tomorrow. Aside from this is there anything else before having to go to ATT and beg for a new one?
Thanks in advance
Additional Info:
I was running Serendipity 5.10 with the kernel included
Some people have had success getting back into download mode by removing the battery for 30 seconds to a minute then plugging in the USB cable, holding the volume buttons and (continuing to hold the buttons) inserting the battery.

I had the same experience last week. Took several tries, but I finally got back in and flashed a new ROM onto it.
The three button fix requires you to flash a new sbl, right? Chances are pretty high that you permanently bricked your phone and a jig won't do you any good. If the jig doesn't work (and I don't expect it to), you have one of two choices: Buy a riff box and revive your phone by taking out the motherboard and connecting it to the riff box, or mail it back to Samsung and have them do it for you.
Note that using the riff box will definitely void your warranty and Samsung will be able to tell that you took it apart in the event that you eventually send it back to them. Custom roms and bricking supposedly void your warranty, but if you're clever enough over the phone, they'll be none the wiser. Especially in your situation, where the phone doesn't do anything when the power button is pressed.
Thanks to all for your help and will update this thread on what happens for future reference. The jig did not work so the next step is to go beg at an AT&T store for a new phone... Here goes nothing.

Just tell them the official 2.2 update did it. "My phone turned off by itself while I was trying to do the update through kies".
Also, if you deal with Samsung directly, they'll mail you back the same phone, so if you got one of the lucky ones with a functioning GPS, you might want to hang on to it by dealing with Samsung instead of ATT.
I took out the SIM, and battery for more than 30 seconds, enter recovery using 3 button mode, open ODIN, attach cable and flash to Eclair...worked fine. Installed SIM after everything worked.
As modest_android pointed out nothing at this point works. I managed to get a hold of AT&T yesterday and they'll send me a new phone overnight.
Thanks to everyone for their help.
Hi,
I've been using Nexus 5 since Nov '13, but this is the first time i'm facing a serious issue in my device.
I was browsing through Chrome and my Battery was 73%, all of a sudden my device rebooted and here comes the main issue/problem.
My device is suffering a boot loop only displaying the google logo for 3-5 seconds and again it reboots.
Occasionally the boot animation starts but no success, again it reboots.
I tried to enter fastboot menu, it enters but it doesn't stay there for not more than 2 seconds. So I can't make any choice over there.
I tried all the combinations (VOL UP+ Power, VOL DOWN+Power, pressing all the buttons), but its of no use.
My device is out of power now.
Even when I plug my device to charger/computer its not showing the battery charging animation instead the reboot loop occurs.
I suspect it can be a problem with the power button in the board.
What do you guys think?
Is there any Solution for this weird problem?
hoping for possible and positive replies.
My device details:
I'm running Stock Android 4.4.4 with stock kernel.(not modified any system files)
TWRP recovery V 2.7.1.1
UNLOCKED ( @present Locked)
ROOTED. @present Unrooted)
Try pressing the power button hard and see if it helps. Probably a power button failure.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I tried holding the power button for more than couple of minutes, No use of it.
While charging I can't even completely turn off the device, the bootloop occurs continuosly.
I've kept in charge for about 30 minutes but no change in its behaviour.
I haven't recorded the video, I searched youtube and found the exact problem.

As I said earlier, it's most probably a power button failure. RMA the device or get it repaired at a LG service center.

Yes you can. Google don't care about root and unlock, just like LG in case of nexus 5 because it is a google phone.

If you've bought your phone from google play store, then RMA it. Google accepts rooted/unlocked devices as well. However, LG is a different story altogether. Here in India, they don't provide warranty if the bootloader is unlocked. Whether it's a nexus device or not. You will need to check it up.
Thanks a lot.

It might be an issue with the power button.
In my case it was the power button, which tends to rattle and its not fit enough.
As I lost the copy of bill, i can't send the device to LG care.
So today morning I tried pressing the power button and as soon as the google logo appears I started to tap fast at the back cover with my finger right behind the power button.
SURPRISE! the device booted succesfully and was using for about couple of minutes.
Again it started to boot loop.
did the same procedure to boot. now my device is running for more than three hours and I don't know when it would again go to bootloop.
Its just the problem with my power button and I will soon get the bill copy from my retailer so that i will send the device for repair/replacement.
Meanwhile I've locked my device and set the tamper flag to false.
EDIT:- Now my device is back to normal. Thanks for your valuable responses. Its just the power button failure.
Useless service centers!
Today I went with my device to LG service center, but they were not ready to accept my words regarding this issue.
Surprisingly I found almost more than 6 peoples who bought their Nexus 5 for the same reason.
The technical person in the service center said that it might be due to software update and he suggested a silly solution, After each OTA update he asked me to uninstall each and every app and reinstall again.
I was repeatedly arguing him that it was a Hardware problem and its related to power button, he is not ready to take my words.
I also explained that when the problem existed in my mobile, in OFF condition if device is shaked too much it turns ON without even pressing the power button.
As many of them were waiting there with the same problem I just showed live demo of the problem.
Finally they said if again the problem occurs we should remove the cover and disconnect the battery and then again reconnect it.
Really frustrated spending a whole day in the service center. Main reason is the person in the service centers and technically backward and they were not able to understand the problem.
Is there any other solution available other than service center (Is there any possibilites of contacting google tech support directly) so that my power button gets repaired before the warranty ends!!!!!!
Progress

THANK YOU!!! This is the most helpful tip I've found so far! I started tapping its back part while charging the battery, and then I was able to turn it on, but when I quit tapping it the phone shuts down. It is really something related to the power button because the phone was locking itself constantly while it was working. I made some progress and I will keep trying until I make it work permanently. If you have any more helpful tip, please, share it with us! I've been trying to fix it for 3 weeks and Im getting crazy with this! Also, I moved to Brazil and there's no warranty here, so that's why Im trying to fix it by myself.
Did you contact Google and get it finally fixed?
Thank you and good luck!
i faced the exact same problem..
initially i thought it's a software problem..but in reality it was a hardware fault.. power button was stuck may be..
after repeatedly pressing the power button phone finally booted up..
thanks for the tip
I have the same problem I don't know if I can give the phone to LG care cause I'm in Mexico and I shop my nexus in usa. I have noticed that if I unplug the phone to the charger while Google logo is on the device turns off
Started happening to me a few hours ago....
tapping close to the power button seems to work but it shuts down once u stop.
attempted to repair it myself but im not seeing anything physically wrong with the tiny power button (inside).
leaving the phone off for a few hours. hope that works.....anyone else found a solution besides returning it to Google?
edit: I solved the problem!!!! (voided my warranty as well. lol)
the physical power button (internal) was stuck.
1. I opened the nexus 5 (using any repair guide)
2. I located the internal power button (very tiny)
3. I gave it a few taps with the base of my screwdriver (not too hard but not too soft either)
after re-assembling (partially) the phone came on for about 10 minutes but the problem started happening again so i disassembled it once more.
THE FOLLOWING MAY NOT BE AN ACTUAL FIX (I PROBABLY JUST GOT LUCKY)
4. (looking from above) the power button is square (half is white and the other half is yellow).......i used a razor blade and gently separated the two halves....not completely separated, just a tiny bit. completely separating the white from the yellow would destroy it.
5. gave it a few taps again and now the phone is working fine.
I hope this helps someone who is unable to return their phone to Google.
I tried to explain what I did as clearly as possible. I will be happy to answer any questions asked.
Same problem
Hey Guys. Same problem here. I was sending a whatsapp message and boom. OFF. I tried to connect it to power but it turns on for a few second, shows google logo and the unlocked bootloader and turns off and again and again..it was at 52% battery charge....I'm unlocked, rooted and on cm11. Reading here, i have understand that it's a hardware issue, and i've bought it since 8 months, so can I RMA it? I'm in Italy and i've bought it from play store..

What did you finally do? I have the same problem.
Workaround to keep your data
I had the same problem already twice. It appears that the cache partitions on the phone is corrupted and therefore Android won't boot. As long as you have an unlocked bootloader you can bring your phone back to life without loosing your personal files. If your bootloader is locked, you have to unlock it first( see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/guide-nexus-5-how-to-unlock-bootloader-t2507905). This is how it worked for me:
Connect your phone to the PC and bring it into fastboot mode
Download the Factory Android image from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
extract the images from the zip
run "fastboot flash cache cache.img"
restart phone
Done
I hope this can be of help.
I was trying to root this phone so I unlocked the bootloader.
I went on twrp and selected A9 only to realize after I flashed that there is a difference between the a9 and a9s and now my phone is just not booting and is stuck in a black screen boot loop.
If I connect it to a computer it will connect for just a second then disconnect which makes me believe it is not 100% dead
What happens is that it will vibrate connect to the computer for around a few seconds then it will disconnect and then 10 seconds later vibrate again and repeat.
Model is 2pwd200
I cannot do anything such as get into bootloader or download mode. I even tried adb and fastboot but no connection
I've had a bootloop like that before. For me it worked to power-off with volume button up + power. Then power-on with volume button down + power. I was able to get into download mode that way and flash the right boot.img (in my case...)

With the live chat person they i told them that it just stopped coming on and it only came on sometimes, I asked them what would void the warranty and they said broken screen or liquid damage. I never told them that the bootloader was unlocked. They did say that if there was physical damage to the device they would charge me £27 for it but there isn't so I am going to ship it tomorrow.

I managed to find a way. Every time I plugged the phone into the power adapter, the phone only vibrated every 23 seconds. I decided to leave it for a few days to complete exhaustion and after connecting the power supply for about 2 minutes blinking orange LED. After 3 minutes the phone normally switched on. However, when I tried to restore the factory settings again, I had a black screen. I left the phone again for two days and this time I prepared a SD card with the image from the link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0r...g5UkZucWc/view
I changed the file name to 2PWDIMG.zip
I started it with the VOL- key and loaded the image. After flash everything works fine.
PS.
Every time the first time I started the phone, the touch screen did not work, I had to restart my phone and then the touch was working. After flash image everything is ok.
This may help you.

So if you press the power key the phone shuts off? Then you press it again the phone goes directly to that screen? Are you able to use the recovery key combo when the phone is powering on or does it go straight to that message as soon as the phone is turned on? Is your phone recognized by your PC in anyway?

Does the pc recognize it as anything? What does it say in Device manager when you have it plugged into your computer? This I would say is probably an RMA type of situation.
And eBay is usually on the buyer's side if you ask for their help getting a refund. (Next time spend the extra money and buy from Google - their RMA procedure [which I used, but later found out I really didn't need] is almost trivial. [It depends on how much tape you have available, and how difficult it is for you it is to mail a package.])
If it would boot into the bootloader it would be easy, even if the rest of the firmware was corrupted.

This is also a unique case from what I can tell because I was unable to find any other mention of this issue. Could be something to look into. ITs probably in some sort of download mode like what happens when you brick a device but I thought these to be unbrickable. Guess not.
No, just install Magisk and TWRP and lock the bootloader. From what I've heard (I won't try it), that results in a hard brick. (Well, not hard, hard. It's a Snapdragon, so if you can find the right ROM file, it should be flashable with Qualcom's tool.)

Phones don't come from the Google store with the bootloader unlocked, so that statement is false. Secondly, a few posts down you say you got it on Ebay and can't RMA. So which is it? One of those assertions is obviously incorrect. If you did get it on Ebay and it was in working condition before you started screwing around then you are SOL unless Google will have pity on you. If you got it from the Google store with the bootloader unlocked then you have a case with them that they sent you a refurbished phone when you paid for a new one. Clear this up for us will you?
Okay, this one seems slightly different, so anyone who has had the problem and found a solution, I'm all ears. While reflashing the second Q beta (over the second Q beta - I was getting Play Services FCs and rebooting didn't fix it) everything went fine until the command window closed and the phone stayed in the bootloader. After that the PC didn't recognize anything being plugged in or our, it's stuck on slot b, which is unbootable, I can't change it and I can't boot from it, because I can't talk to it. I've removed and replaced the driver, I'm using a USB 2.1 connection, the computer recognizes other phones on that cable, I've used the same combination to flash factory versions and sideload updates all year using exactly the same thing, so ...
Google recommended an RMA, so they did, and Fedex has it on the truck today for delivery but ... has anyone found a way to get this to work without changing the motherboard? (I've treated this battery well, and the phone's been a case since day 1 - who knows what I'm getting.)

I would try skipsoft Android toolkit. It might not recognize your phone right off. Try uninstalling and reinstalling USB drivers through the toolkit with phone plugged in. Downloading and installing firmware, etc. It got me out of a bind once. Worth a try.
Hi, I got to this "not bootlable" situation for second time when I was downgrading from Q beta 2 back to Pie. But I am probably lucky one Same situation like you, only bootloader screen and PC didn't see my phone, but I was able to fix it I was in bootloader, connected to PC and I hold power button for long time (2 minutes maybe more). Phone was still restarting, bootlader screen, black screen, bootlader, black.....sometimes it vibrated. After this 2 minutes I just tried "flash-all.bat" command and phone arose from the dead and is working.

This should work. Had something similar happen to me, keep holding power for about 10 seconds or so while it keeps rebooting until you feel the phone vibrate. Release the power button, connect to the computer and it should detect it then.

somin.n, I just wanted to thank you for rescuing my phone. After a lot of problems with Q, I decided to go back to Pie and bricked the bootloader. I tried your trick and it came back - but ... I flashed Pie, it rebooted and hung on the "G" screen. So I did a factory reset and resigned myself to use the refurb they sent me. This morning I tried once more and flashed Pie. Voila! The phone works. The original, non-refurb, phone. So now, since the refurb they sent me has the "bootloader unlockable flag = '1', but the bootloader won't unlock" problem, which seems to be common, there's another refurb on its way. So on Tuesday, I'm returning two refurbs to Google.
But you saved my phone so, again, thank you.

Hey, you are welcome I was really lost when it happened to me, because google is not selling phones in our country officialy, so no RMA and secondly, my pixel is my bussiness phone so I can't tell to my boss that my phone is broken because of flashing beta builds Yeah, I had to find a solution
