Doesn't work with Android Pay? That sucks.

When I try to set up a credit card on Android Pay I get this error message in a popup:
Google is unable to verify that your device or the software running on it is Android compatible

That kind of sucks because a big reason I wanted to buy a phone with a fingerprint reader was to use Android Pay. Has anyone gotten it to work?
Got the same error
Same error here, too
I got the same error. So far, it's the most disappointing thing I've encountered.
This interest me, might be a deciding factor. Hope Blu figures it out.

Could it be the device is so new Google hasn't added it yet to the list of supported devices?

That's an interesting possibility; I didn't consider that Google may have a whitelist of supported devices. If I had to guess, though, I wouldn't think so. There are thousands of Android devices out there more introduced every day so trying to manually maintain a list like that would be difficult even for Google.
I suspect the problem is something worse. The version of Android on this phone appears to be far from stock Android. I think core pieces of the OS are modified enough that Android Pay's checks that you are running on a secure, uncompromised device fail. Few of the built in screens and features look like vanilla Android. The OS on thsi phone really does look like a toned-down version of MIUI from a couple of years ago. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's definitely not Android as Google thinks it should be.
I reported the issue to Google from within the Android Pay app. I think you guys should do the same to bring this to their attention. Maybe they can pressure Blu to fix the issue?

Hi, Pedro.
I'm sorry that you ran into an error message on your Android Pay app! I understand how frustrating that can be.
The specific error message that you saw means that your device can't support Android Pay's advanced security. If you've heavily modified your device, may I recommend returning it to its original state and trying again? Otherwise, you may want to use Android Pay on a different device for the most secure payments.
If you have any more questions, please reply to this email or let my team call you. We're happy to help!

Hi, mhajii210.
Thanks for contacting Google and for your interest in Android Pay!
Yes, I have noted your request to have this device checked for eligibility and having the Android Pay be made available for your device too.
That being said, I have laid out some info about the eligibility for Android Pay.
The Android Pay app is compatible with Android phones running KitKat (4.4) or higher with "near field communication" (NFC) tap and pay capability. (For security, Android Pay isn't compatible with rooted/modified devices.)
To check whether your phone supports tap and pay, please see our Help Center.
Device purchased in US
SIM card manufactured in US
Device is on supported carrier
Rest assured that I have noted your request to ask our engineers to look into having the app for the device you mentioned.
If you have any more questions, please reply to this email or let my team call you. We're happy to help!

This being an unlocked phone doesn't that kind of kick it out from being supported for this reason "Device is on supported carrier"?

Nexus line of phones are unlocked but of course they support Android Pay. As long as the phone uses a US SIM card on an approved carrier, it is fine. The problem is this phone is running an Android version that has not been certified to use Android Pay. It is possible if both Google and Blu work together that may change in the future. I think it really depends on how well this phone sells. If there is enough of a demand it'll happen. At this point I'm not holding my breath. It never hurts to try though since it is in Google's best interest to get Android Pay to work on as many phones as possible.
Great!

Let's see what's going to happen, it is obvious that because this phone's rom is so modified, it is the reason. I hope Android Pay work this out to make sure it is "Secure" for them. :good: Finger crossed

There is an update as of 11/6/2015 on Android Pay app, but the device still incompatible.
So, i haven't verified it works yet, but with HTC Sense loaded as my launcher I was able to activate my card in Android Pay. This didn't work previously but this time i was using a cellular connection versus wifi to activate. I will try to test it tonight.

[Completed] How to regain control of your device when it's been hacked?

My husband and I both have Samsung Galaxy S6's and honestly we have had nothing but weird issues, for example, the operating system is always flawed, we have had sign in issues with Google. There are unknown devices on the google account and also unknown devices on the wifi as well. The device seems to be under someone else's control and we have talked to Sprint and Samsung technical support, both of which have claimed there was absolutely nothing wrong with the device, and I would have to disagree! There is definitely something going on with the phone. Please any ideas are welcome and any step in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hi,
Thank you for your patience and for using XDA assist.
I would recommend visiting your nearest carrier store so that they will be able to see the problem themselves. Contacting them via phone or email will not show them the whole issue, as it is limited to what you can describe and what they have access to.
As for your Google account, check you google account settings on a computer to remove any unauthorized devices. If things go worse, you may have to deactivate your accounts.
Good Luck! - gsstudios

Samsung S6 Hack Pattern Lock / Force Google Autho

Samsung S6 / Model: SM-G920F / Android 9... maybe (I can't check)
Long story short.
3 years ago dropped phone, screen died.
Had no money to fix at the time and then I 'forgot' about it as I wasn't ready to grieve my mom.
Recently had screen fixed.
I have obviously forgotten the lock screen pattern I used 3 years ago.
Damn phone refuses to give me any other login option (I remember the pin I had on there) - it simply increases the wait time between my attempts to guess the pattern.
Sure I can do a factory reset and then log in with my google account, but that would mean losing all the photos of the last holiday I had with my mamma - and the last time I saw her before she died a very sudden death at the hands of someone else just two months later.
I am in tears, frustration, anger - all I want is those photos, those memories. If the US Treasury can be hacked surely there is a way to get into a solitary android phone!?
1. Phone was not setup to backup to a cloud service (I know, I can't believe this ridiculous oversight on my part!)
2. Google account email address is still the same, but I have changed the password numerous times in the last 3 years and device is not showing in 'my devices' in google account anymore.
3. Samsung Find My Mobile account
Device is still showing in my Samsung account (and I have the EMEA) but it cannot find my phone and so I cannot remotely unlock it.
I assume the phone is no longer logged in to Samsung account because of a password change in the last 3 years (email address is still the same).
4. Without password I am unable to enable USB debugging.
5. If I remember correctly the device is rooted.
6. Samsung technical support are useless.
7. I have scoured forums, you tube, etc. for help. Come up empty and wasted ALOT of time with useless scammy apps.
Is there anything else you could suggest? I am not a developer and don't have a technical bone in my body but I am willing to get a PHD in frigging coding if it means I can get these photos of my mamma back.

[CLOSED] I'm offering $150 to anyone who can mod AirMessage to run on KitKat

I'm offering $150 to anyone who can modify the app AirMessage to work on Android KitKat.
The app allows users to send/receive iMessage texts on Android and is open source:
• https://github.com/airmessage/airmessage-android (preferred start point)
• https://f-droid.org/packages/me.tagavari.airmessage/ (excludes Google sign-in feature)
Long story but I'm trying to get it working on an LG Wine Smart H486 flip phone from 2015 for a special project. The phone cannot be rooted (I've tried for weeks using every available method). But also I'd prefer not to root really, as by upgrading to a non-standard firmware I'd lose bespoke flip features like flip open/close sounds and many more. So the solution I'd like is to get the app to run on KitKat instead.
It's important that notifications work when the port is done.
User @SoundDrill has tried and received this error, but thinks it possible others may have more luck:
In order to use core library desugaring, please enable multidex.
Regarding payment, we could do it via eBay if you set up a simple listing for "App conversion service". I have been a member there for 22 years and have 100% positive feedback: https://www.ebay.com/usr/tranquilbluetrading I'm open to other safe methods that protect us both.
Many thanks in advance!
@CJSnet Thread closed as you created a subject matter related one already two days ago:
Anyone able to mod this app to run on KitKat?
Basically I want to modify the APK to AirMessage (an iMessage client for Android) so it works on Android version 4+ instead of 6+. I'm reverting to a basic Android LG Wine Smart H486 flip phone (beautiful thing) for a video on my retro tech...
