Download .avi from LG TV into external usb drive - WebOS Software and Hacking General

Hello everybody,
With my LG television, I use WebOS to access internet. I have tried to download an .avi file fom internet but I got a message similar to "Downloading file is not supported" from the browser.
I would like to find a way (via another app, via an external device or whatever) to download a media file into my TV or into an USB drive already plugged-in. Then, I would like the TV to play/read the downloaded file.
Any idea how to do this ?
In other words, today, what I do:
- download a media file from the web with my computer (file of 700mo)
- copy the media into an USB drive
- unplug the usb drive from my computer
- plug the usb drive into my TV
- play the media to watch it with my TV
I would like to avoid those steps (using my computer) for watching my downloaded media on my TV.
Thanks,
Manbboy

[Q] Meida Player / DLNA client

I have external hard drive connected to my router. I have music and videos in this drive. How do I connect to it using Windows Phone? I can't seem to find any any app for this.
Other DLNA clients are usually able to automatically discover and play media from that drive. But not sure how to get Windows Phone to access it and play media.
I tried TVersity, it kind of works but it does not seem to play all format (my .avi files aren't playing)
I tried OnePlayer - it discovers the drive, but it only plays music.

Looking for app to transfer files wireless to kindle

Now I want to do this wirelessly and not have to be on my pc at all. I usually leave my pc running throughout the day so that regardless of where I am at I can stream my media, but I thought it would be useful to be able to download my files regardless of where I am at in my house.
AirDroid
Using Bslite player in "Lan mode" (search in play store) if you want to stream video.
Using Esfile explorer to copy file, install app from pc, you can stream video too.
all airdroid is for is transfering files from your computer to android using a web browser. you cant transfer anything just usuing the kindle Like I wanted
Ah I see what you mean. Try TeamViewer or Kies Air

External USB drive not recognizing by music player?

Hey guys
I'm connecting my USB drives via the OTG cables...
My s5 seems to recognize the drive and I can open all the folders and files
However, my music player doesn't recognize the drive (it only scans the internal phone drive, along with the MicroSD (extSDcard), and not the USB that i plugged in via OTG cable
Is there a way I can make my music player recognize the drive? I tried 3 music player, Winamp, rocketplayer, n7player
Basically.... if there a way to allow the systems to show rooted audio folders

Click to collapse
If you use a file manager like Root Explorer, you can navigate to the USB drive and tap when you tap the music file, it should ask you what to use to play the file. AFAIK, it won't play the whole folder though.

I tried that... like you said, it only allows me to play one file and not the whole album/folder... however, if I told the folder and click settings and then play, it does play the whole folder but it uses the "ES file explorer music player instead of my rocketplayer

Hi,
Is there an app to access videos on USB from LG TV and can read nfo files (or an other solution to safe metatags at local file)? Like Kodi at AndroidTV...
Thanks

No video on USB drive on Android TV

Hello
I am not able to see the video listing on my USB drive with my Android TV. I have checked the option to show hidden files, refreshed, reinstalled the player with no success. What is wrong?
Best,
Aul
