Hey guys
I'm connecting my USB drives via the OTG cables...
My s5 seems to recognize the drive and I can open all the folders and files
However, my music player doesn't recognize the drive (it only scans the internal phone drive, along with the MicroSD (extSDcard), and not the USB that i plugged in via OTG cable
Is there a way I can make my music player recognize the drive? I tried 3 music player, Winamp, rocketplayer, n7player
Basically.... if there a way to allow the systems to show rooted audio folders

If you use a file manager like Root Explorer, you can navigate to the USB drive and tap when you tap the music file, it should ask you what to use to play the file. AFAIK, it won't play the whole folder though.

I tried that... like you said, it only allows me to play one file and not the whole album/folder... however, if I told the folder and click settings and then play, it does play the whole folder but it uses the "ES file explorer music player instead of my rocketplayer

I'm looking for the same advice but for external USB hard drives. I can open File Manager and play an mp3 but I don't know how to get any player to add the drive to the library. Any ideas?
I think you have to force the device to scan for new media. There are a few apps on the market for this but I have not tested them.

do you know any worth a try?
I would like to leave an external USB hard drive in my car, connect the dock (via usb), and use the headphone jack to play mp3s.
Thanks for your help
USB mp3 folder select
I think I got what I need out of MortPlayer. After adding the re-occuring folder name /Removable/USBdisk1 to the 'Folder and tag reading' 'Main folder' MortPlayer found the folders of albums. I was able to remove the screen from the dock and reattach it. The widget was able to begin playing again with the same library folders.
So I think I could keep a large external USB harddrive in my car, connect it USB to the dock and take the tablet with me when I leave the car. Upon returning to the car, I should be able to dock it and retain the library info.
I suppose the only missing piece is whether the external would be better running off a 12 to 5V supply than using the Asus's USB connection.
Thanks again
Hello, just received my Meegan OTG USB Micro adapter, moved my Music to the msdcard, but now, when I launched the music Player Pro app, there is no music file except the one that is in the internal storage Samsung folder. Tried to force in the music player app settings to search in the external sd but no luck. If I go thru Astro File Explorer, I can see the external sd and all the music, but the Player Pro app only open the song that I selected and not continues playing the other songs.
Any recommendation?
(EDIT) Tried with VLC player and now I am able to play more than one song...
PowerAmp work good with otg
Neutron also works once you point it to the file location on the OTG.
Neutron is audiophile quality listening...
Hi, I want to play songs from my USB Stick since the storage is too precious to store music file.
I've found some solution for my problem, like playing with ES File Manager. ESFM sometimes work fine, but in another time it just play one single song and stop, also i dont like the UI.
I found another workaround on this thread Full USB OTG but I stuck on step 4.
Anyone know how to mount my USB Stick so I can play the songs from it with "normal" music player?
Hi, I have been a lifelong Apple user and recently decided to switch to Android as I pre-ordered the new Samsung Galaxy S10. I am wondering how I can transfer my iTunes Library to Android and have looked on the internet on how to do this.
However, most tutorials only show how you can transfer music which you bought in iTunes to Google Play Music. What I like to know is how I can transfer my music in iTunes (which I downloaded from Youtube in mp3 formats and then manually uploaded to iTunes) to an Android music app such as Musicolet. I like to have the same playlists as in my iTunes, and I have all the music files on my computer. Doing this manually would take ages as I have almost 4000 songs. Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

The simplest way is just to copy .mp3 files and playlists directly into /mnt/sdcard/Music and any Android music player should be able to read these files
AirMore
Just look for the directy files of your downloaded music then use this app called AirMore to wirelessly transfer them on your Phone. Using this tool will allow you to selectively choose the files you wish to transfer from PC to your phone and vice versa.
You have all the mp3 files. You can literally connect the S10 to your computer, navigate to the file directory (like how you put a USB in a computer and see all the files), make a folder called music, and drag all the mp3 files to the folder. This is how i've always done it. Every samsung galaxy device has a preinstalled samsung music application, where it allows you to play music. It will automatically pick up all the mp3 files and you will be able to listen to it.
Hello,
The best and simple way is to transfer your music files from PC to Android. To do this you have to just copy iTunes music files to media folder and connect your PC to Android by using USB cable.
However, there are many other different methods which you can get in this article transfer iTunes music to Android phone.
Create a new folder on your desktop.
Copy the music files to transfer into the new folder.
Connect your Samsung to your computer with a USB cable. You may need to adjust your phone settings to transfer files via USB.
I hook a USB drive to my S22 Ultra with the cable, go to
"my Files" open up the usb directory and I see all the audio files on the USB.
Here is my question..... I have the phone and my JBL flip 5 paired together. I pick a song from the usb drive, music plays just perfect but when the song is done, it doesn't advance to the next song on the list.
I have to click on each song individually.
Is there a setting that allows you to pick the first song and it will continue thru all the audio files automatically, like when I plug the same USB into our home stereo system?
I hope I explained this ok
Thanks for any help as this drives me crazy.
Use a music player app (or a different file manager app e.g. X-plore) to play the files instead of the default file manager app.
Poweramp for example, is an excellent player with a lot of settings and an ecualizer. You can play all the audio files in a folder, instead of creating playlists, and define if you want to start again, etc. But, I've never tested it playing from an external usb drive..
found File Manager + and it works perfect.
X-Plore worked as well but had too many pop up ads
Thank you for all the help
