Sideload OOS12 C.36 - OnePlus 8 Questions & Answers

I was just curious that has anyone yet sideloaded OOS12 C.36 or above on OnePlus 8 using a custom recovery? If yes, then how was your experience? Any issues with the partitions?

OOS 10.3.1

Can anyone confirm if TWRP 3.3.1-x blu_spark v9.108 works with the latest 10.3.1 release? Do I need to even update TWRP or can I stay on the current version?
I am currently on v9.107 with 10.0.1 and I want to update without losing root or data.

What process did you use to update without losing root and data and did you go from 10.0.1 to 10.3.1?

I need help to install a specific firmware update

Hello. I've just unlocked the bootloader of my oneplus 7 and installed TWRP & Magisk.
Now, I searched for a bit a list of all the firmware updates for this phone, but didn't find much.
In the end, I found this page with several downloads:
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=295474
Since for Android 9 I see only versions 9.5.7 and 9.5.8, is it correct to assume that version 9.5.8 is the latest update for Android 9?
(I don't want to upgrade to Android 10)
If yes, which file should I choose between these, and how would I proceed to install it, possibly without losing root and TWRP?
- [EU] OnePlus 7 OxygenOS 9.5.8 Full ROM.zip
- [EU] OnePlus 7 OxygenOS 9.5.8 OTA Update.zip
- [EU] Oxygen OS 9.5.8 Kernel Boot.img
- [Global] OnePlus 7 OxygenOS 9.5.8 Full ROM.zip
- [Global] OnePlus 7 OxygenOS 9.5.8 OTA Update.zip
- [Global] Oxygen OS 9.5.8 Kernel Boot.img
Thank you very much for any help. I really don't know where to start (and can't find much, if anything, by searching).

everything you need is here, on this thread
Read carefully in OP & > "Specific Threads and Guides for Oneplus 7" ,
and especially in the first two series...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7/help/help-thread-question-noob-friendly-t3954564
Wow, now I feel dumb. I started by thinking it was gonna be difficult to find these informations and ignored the main threads...
Thanks.

OOS 11 (any version) installation stuck at 84%

Hi
I've oneplus 7 pro with Open Beta 19, I need to install A11, I've tried to install OP4, stable but installation progress stuck at 84% for very longtime,
is there anyway to solve this?
Can I flash it over TWRP?
Probably, try OB1 Android 11 then OB4. If I recall , was the same process with PIE, you need incremental update first.

Thanks for your reply,
so I cannot update directly form OB19 to 11.0.0.2 Stable?
Sure TWRP will work.

[solved] Restore latest OOS 11

Hello
Just bought a OP8T KB2005 version
I made the mistake to run all updates until reaching OOS 12
I got back using MSM to version 11.0.7.9 using this page https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...l-to-restore-your-device-to-oxygenos.4180837/
It seems to work as expected, but I wanted to know if there a way to push an update to the latest OOS 11 release
Found on this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oneplus-8t-rom-ota-oxygen-os-repo-of-oxygen-os-builds.4193183/
this downgrade zip with version 11.0.11.11 but I don't know hoz to flash it.
Using fastboot ? It seems less secure than using MSM.
Thanks !

If you are on OOS 11.0.7.9 just flash latest flashable zip via local update in settings and you'll be on the latest OOS11 11.0.13.13.
Thanks.
Smoothly ran the update through local update.
Works like a charm!

Rooting OOS12?

Hey guys, soooooo I finally updated my 7 Pro to the stable build of OOS12 that's out now. How do you install twrp and root this build??? When I use fastboot to boot a twrp img file, it borks the phone into a bootloop!
EDIT: So I was able to root it by just patching a boot image and flashing that. but is TWRP just not supported yet for OOS12?
Official TWRP for A12 ONEPLUS 7 PRO is now released.
Hello, as I mentioned in the title, you can now download the official TWRP for the official website, and the most recent version supports encryption/decryption. https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplus7pro.html
forum.xda-developers.com
what about the bugs and battery drain?
