Android 13 has started rolling out for Xperia 5 III
Has anyone received it and installed it?
My device hasn't received it yet (XQ-BQ52, Greece)
Any comments would be appreciated.
I have nothing in Poland either.
Czechia here. I have A13 since yesterday. I did factory reset also. So far everything works fine and I have a feeling it is even faster.
what size is the update?
About 1Gig, I think 990MB
Got an update, size 929.1MB

how is it? I updated this morning and and having persistent freezing. Even after doing a factory reset. It seems i can only use the phone for 5-10 mins then I have to reboot. it gets totally unresponsive.
Everything works for me without any problems.
Found my issue. somehow my SD card was causing the issue. I had to format the card, now everything works. Every running ok now and now Nova launcher is much smoother the bug swiping to home is now gone.
Is my phone the only that has 1 available color in:
Settings -> Wallpapers -> Wallpaper and Style -> Basic colors
?

hi i got the update a week before for my xperia 5 IV XQ-CQ54 (UK) with the size of 900mb..
Nothing major update over the android 12 except for few animations and some polished design in notifications, settings etc. But the major thing i felt is the smoothness, snappy than ever before. Also i felt the battery stand by is good over android 12 when in wifi .. And i always charge the device to 80 only not 100. and it gives a day full of juice with basic usage not heavy usage .. Overall i liked it very much ..
Here is a problem with A13.
My phone no longer pairs with Honor Band 6.
It seems to be a general problem with stockish Android 13 and Huawei accessories.
It affects Pixel Phones too.

No, same here.
Got it earlier this week (XQ-BQ52 UK). Looks like battery consumption is better. However, I use pattern lock screen, and now the dots are way farther from each other, so I have to make bigger movement with thumb. Couldn't find a way yet to make them closer (if possible at all)
I got Android 13 update on my Xperia 5 iii
It is much better now. Android 12 was a little bit off.
Now it's a great phone again.

I got Android 13 this morning. I don't play games, listen to music, or make phone calls. The apps and the camera seem to be working fine as is messaging. It seems snappier than Android 12.
Updated then wiped the phone.
It's fast, stable but I fail to find anything new that is relevant.
In my opinion, Material U is a gimmick and the rest of the Android features are "ok" but nothing crazy.
But hey, it's there and works well, so no need to stay on 12 if the update is available.

He's ok. The 510 shares the forum with the 700, but they have their own development forum.
MD
ah okay. I just wonder when the A700 receives this update.
Yeah official JB received today (Germany), awesoooome, a510 is way better now :victory:
hope there´s a way to root again very fast
still waiting here in aus
Ok, so they promised December and they have delievered.
Thing is, is the overall speed/performance of the tablet quicker and smoother? What about the display sensitivity and speaker volume issues?
Also, any official downloadable ROM for this? Finally, is I install the ROM, will I be not able to upgrade to my local ROM, and what about ROOT (how to keep it too)?
himm just wait for the local don't go getting yourself stuck in some rom you have to stuff about waiting for a way out of it
This update has just appeared for me (a510 France). Do I need to unroot to install it and can I root again the same way afterwards?
Does rootkeeper work on Acer tablets, does anyone know?
lucky you still waiting
went and posted a hurry up message on acer's face book lol
No way I'm updating this if it has no root option.
any other countries started getting the update??
I doubt we'll see it after this friday if not release till next month due to the holidays and all.
Got the update last night. On the east coast of the US.:good:
Got the update last night. SoCal. This update is night and day to ics. So fast and smooth. Touch is fixed. Plus Google now is avail. Its like a brand new tablet

hi all
update should be out for all countries
i tricked mine into updating. Heres how to.
Go to setting then to apps thengo to running.
force stop google play store and any other store service like the books. mag app. check this in the cached apps too.
Go to All then find google services frame work. clear data and force close. go to apps again then All and check that frame work services is closed.
If open try force close and clear and exit out and recheck. if it's opening again right away a store service must be going re check and repeat.
Once you have the framework service stopped completely retry checking update.
for me it said there was no update.
then seconds later i got a notification there was an update in the task bar next to time.
follow the update steps.
Opinion on update is this.
The settings panel in bottom corner is freaking awesome.
It has the performance options now. high, balanced and low performance battery saver..
When 1 core is going it reaches 1.4ghz as meant to. and the others sit down on 10 - 20% usage when using mx player on a mkv file using software decoder.
Which seems better before on software the cpu usage would show high alot of the time on software. This was set to high performance mode.
the cf bench mark was also higher than my previous 4.0.3 bench marks. Cf reports them as 1.4ghz cores in high performance mode same as balanced and power saver. but the system monitor app i have shows 1.3?
cf bench got 22357, 5984, 12412 in high performance.
in balanced it got 20984,5782,11333
in power saver mode it got 21110, 5871,11966 (funnily enough better than balanced???)
I ran the power saver and balance 3 times each and power saver beat balanced all 3 times.
the ui runs much better and smooth on all 3 modes.
Just got it, Georgia USA
Just got it too in Montreal/Canada
Tablet works just great, no more screen sensitivity problem !
However I have a bug : updates have been found for Chrome and Google Currents, but the updates fail with error message : Duplicate provider authority.
I tried to uninstall from apps, cleared all data, but to no avail.

I'm not sure if people are just really downplaying the bugs their experiencing, or maybe Canada just got a big batch of bad phones but it seems nobody online is having the problems me and a few friends are having with our phones. When 5.0 first arrived I was shocked to find I experienced none of the bugs that everyone was complaining about, 2 weeks later and my phone in unusable. A factory reset seems to clean things up but within another week my phone will become unusable again. I thought maybe my phone had broken until I spoke to some friends and found out that multiple (5+) are having the exact same issues. So my question is what's going on with the n5? How is yours working? I'm extremely disappointed this time around after the great experience I had with the galaxy nexus and n4 and would even say I was a nexus fanboy. After having the n5 since launch I have decided that I will no longer be buying nexus phones, as I have has nothing but problems with the 2 n5s I have owned.
A quick list of some of the bugs I've been experiencing are:
Terrible Battery
Immense lag / lack of response in general.
Facebook Messenger chat heads seem to close themselves about 75% of the time.
Getting the keyboard to come up is a game of hit and miss.
The Wallpaper changes itself to black (my indicator things are about to get crazy)
Data/WiFi often just stop working, while icons in the status bar appear normal
About 1 in every 4 notifications I get fails to actually send a notification.
I get a constant "attempting to reconnect in x seconds" while connected to my moto 360.
My navbar/status bar often disappear.
And the annoying "bug report captured" bug that has been persistent since I got the phone.
I've had these problems on stock 5.0, 5.0.1 as well as all custom Roms up to 5.0.2
I've even tried going back to KK, while greatly improved, I still experience much of the same problems.
Does anyone else have these or similar problems? Has anyone found anything that runs stable? Or is it just time I move on and get myself an HTC?
Using my N5 in germany and it's the best phone I've ever held in my hands Running CM12 (based on Lollipop) for now. Have also been using stock Lollipop for a few months. Both run extremely stable. To be honest: I never heard about your issues. I'm not that big of a fanboy. Never owned a Nexus device before, but I guess I'll never move away from Nexus
Just my honest opinion about the device
By the way: I've got a moto 360, too. And the connection is great - up to 10 meters at least and no random disconnects
I have zero issues with mine, but I'm on stock 4.4.4 so that may have something to do with it. I'm not a fan of Lollipop at all. Too many bugs, and I don't like the look of it.
After one year with my Nexus 5, running stock no root, never a problem. I'm a former owner of HTC flagships phones, never a problem with them.

Using Stock 5.0.1 rooted and with ElementalX kernel is good for me and have been using that setup for over a month now. No issues like what you're describing at all. :S
No problems here like that. Bug report issue is normally a poorly fitting case
Hmm... So it seems that the only people that are having these bugs live in my area... Do you think its possible we all got a bad batch of n5s at the rogers store here?
Edit: everyone experiencing these issues has bought their phones from rogers stores here in my city.

Yeah the devices purchased at the play store seem to be fine now. At first, me personally, I had tons of bugs at release. But those issues have been fixed with updates. Mainly concerning the signal and camera speed.
Thread cleaned.
If you think a report is breaking the rules or shouldn't be there for any other reason please report it and move on, antagonizing them adds nothing to the forum but makes our job harder. Thanks, Tijmen.
No issues here besides the occasional Mobile Radio active wakelock, which I did also see occasionally on KK. I did have some memory leak issues on 5.0.0 but either 5.0.1 fixed it or me removing some 3rd party background services did.

Rebooting is normally my go-to solution for problems but it doesn't seem to help these bugs. I installed CM Security and it constantly warns me about my CPU usage/RAM and battery Temperature. The culprit almost always seems to be the Facebook app (sometimes using 250+ mb of RAM just for background services) Could this be a bug with the Facebook app making my phone perform poorly... Does anyone know of any solid alternatives to the official Facebook app?

Fast for Facebook I'd a good alternative
I've been without issues since the factory images were first released, running CM12 CAF builds without issues (besides cm12 bugs)
So call me crazy but I deleted the Facebook and Messenger apps about 6 hours ago and have had 0 problems since... I'm using the official Facebook "Lite" apk I found online and while it is very ugly, things are running much smoother, just hoping that maybe this will solve the bugs I've been experiencing and I'll be able to help my friends get there phones back to a usable state.

I know it's really late in the game now, but have you tried starting in safe mode to see if you have the same issues? It could be an app causing all the grief.

Usually takes a few days to settle down after an upgrade. Give it a little time and see how it goes.
Touch and performance issues with Verizon update G925VVRU4CPK2 Galaxy S6E 12/16/16
sometimes, as in for short periods throughout the day the phone detects touches as a jump from one letter to the next; consequently, not inputting the first character but the second. This impairs my typing, so I have to type significantly slower for it to understand I'm typing different letters. this also affects any touch movement and the phone's performance as it lags as well as misses certain touches. This only happened after this update on 12/16/16. Not only does did it affect my phone but my brother installed the update as well and his phone (same model) is experiencing the same issues. I had nova launcher as well which i uninstalled and I have deleted the cache multiple times, started the phone in safe mode and was not able to use the phone codes since Verizon blocked access to updating the touchscreen's firmware. It is not a constant issue but it happens at least a couple times as day which is extremely annoying when trying to type or move around.
If anyone has encountered a similar problem or has a possible solution I would greatly appreciate any help
My device is Unrooted

Until update to Android 10 my experience with Nokia 9 was ok. Unfortunately user experience after update is horrible. Performance hit is enormous, I have to restart my phone every day because my notification bar starts lagging, waking up animation is very choppy when I'm playing music or phone just starts to lag when I'm browsing Twitter. I just can't imagine how this update got pushed out in this state when CEO of HMD is using Nokia 9 as a daily driver. I hope they will fix all the performance issues in the next update because right now this phone is just piece of garbage

I agree. I thought I had got lucky with mine as apart from the fingerprint reader not working, (obviously), and the camera missing shots because it's so slow, (obviously), I didn't seem to be getting the other problems reported on here. But since Android 10, it's been freezing , stuttering, hanging up on calls etc. I've been having to reboot twice a day. Basically not fit for purpose in this day and age. Disappointing so I'll be looking for something else.
Same problems, until i choose hard reset
Facing the same glitches issues with wakeup and notification center animations, but overall the general performance and much better.
- Camera, quicker with better results!
- Speakers sound is significantly better
Hi all,
I do not mean to hijack this thread but I have still not received the android 10 update. Awful or not, I need those security patches. I have a nokia 9 pure view model TA1087. The build number of my phone is 00WW_4_27D_SP03
I am looking for a way to downgrade to pre A-10 if anyone has a way to do it.
Hard reset did not work.
Managed to get the phone stable again.

Hey folks! Does this look like Android 12 or just a security patch?
I did a similar update to my old (and now gone) V60 and the battery life plumeted even after multiple factory resets. I never checked if the update was Android 12 because I thought LG was left behind.
It also force installed it on me with no option to turn off auto installs.

Well, it was just a security update.
Phone runs exactly the same as before.
In fact, there was another update, system 13 immediately after I installed it.
Battery life was my main concern, but its normal!
