I've replaced batteries twice, I've tried bootlog in the boot menu calibrated my phone's battery. Still no improvement. What can I do.
My phone still shuts off at 50% battery power
More info? What device? Is it rooted? Custom rom?
It's a cheapie,Hisense u963 unrooted. No custom rom
You may want to open this in your devices Xda section if it has one, this is very device specific, but I can try to help. Can you look around battery settings and make sure tou did not chnage anything? Does it die at precisely 50 percent? Like exact?

Please have your phone's motherboard checked by a good technician. It is likely a motherboard issue which is drawing more power and the battery fails at a certain percentage otherwise it may also be the battery problem.

Ok It first died at 50% exactly.
After bootlog in fastboot it dies at 40%. The first time I did this it showed my true battery percentage 1%,after fastboot when phone goes on I charged it and trickled 30mins And it still died. At 40% . After this, I decided I'll calibrated it and it shot off at 48%. And thanks for the heads up will check.

Might be motherboard, but I don't think it can be the battery because I got a new battery. And it did this so I went back and they replaced the battery with a new one thinking it's the battery thats
faulty

Limiting battery power settings, or maybe some setting labeled to lengthen the life of the battery. I am unfamiliar with your device and even its brand.

It may be different for your device as per motherboard but its likely motherboard components fault.
Please have it repaired from a experienced and good mobile repair technician.

Hi. I have a two-months-old Nexus 5 (stock ROM & kernel; rooted). Two days ago my battery suddenly started having some problems. First of all, it doesn't last more than 1-2 hours with normal phone usage. Then it often becomes hot, even when not charging. Last but not least, if I keep using my phone while charging, it charges incredibly slowly, or it doesn't charge at all (the charge remains stable). I'm using the stock charger. Any suggestion?

The Nexus 5 has been proven to last longer then an SGS4 which has a bigger battery, and the HTC one with the same size battery (under proper testing conditions) all while using a faster SoC. Do you troll the forums for those phones as well?
Maybe a Moto G or LG G2 would suit some people better for their increased battery life, but that doesn't mean you need to troll every thread on here with false accusations.
If you'd like any more proof on how the N5 battery lasts longer and is more efficient than competing phones of higher prices, just let me know.

Go into device settings > Location. Set Mode to Device only. Ensure that the Google location reporting in that same area is off.
Take another BBS log and post it.
I experience the same issues. Not charging when connected or even lose charge when connected. I am still figuring out what causes it. First of all try using the original cable and charger. Second, disconnect the charger when the screen is on, I read somewhere that can help as well.
Today I had the same issue again, but just before I started charging, the battery would lose 1% per 2 minutes and my phone became very warm.
If I find out more, I will let you know.

That is the problem. That particular wakelock belongs to Google Now. I hope you don't use it, because the solution is to turn it off (from within the program). You could try force stopping and/or wiping it's data. But the fact of the matter is that it's a bug in the app.
Google Now has been this way since it was released. The only conclusion I can draw is that Google doesn't care. It's never behaved properly. And that location reporting (that you've now disabled) is completely out of control, been that way for a year now. I actually greenify the Google apps now. I'm tired of putting up with the lazy programming. Keep, Now, Chrome, Drive, Maps, I greenify all of those. I still allow them to sync, but Greenify will kill them again after they are finished.

Good to hear. If anyone else see's Android OS or Search taking up 50% or more of your battery that can be mitigated.

Take out your Battery, put it on a flat surface say a table. Try to Spin it....if it spins over 2 rounds then you need to buy a new battery.
Hi, I recently RMAd my nexus 5 for a sudden death which required a new PCB. I've had it replaced about 2 weeks ago and last night a similar thing happened. I had about 40% battery and it instantly turned off so I feared the problem recurred, however this time I am able to charge it up again and it seems to be working... Is there a fix for this? Could it be a possible miscalibration of the battery since the RMA, or should I sent it back again? See the screen shot for the battery stats. I am running stock 4.4.4 and am not rooted.

You can try to fully charge it, then delete /data/system/batterstats.bin and reboot.
This is not the problem you posted about, but your phone isn't sleeping very well. Will take a look at a BBS log if you post one. Also, not too sure what's going on with your signal...

OK cool. I'm reluctant to root as I may take it back to the shop and I don't want to unlock the bootloader. I can't post BBS without root either
If your signal is very poor and you're on data....then battery can drop like a rock. And faster the more apps you have that are trying to sync over data.
Just so you know.
---------- Post added at 11:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:42 AM ----------
Also, sometimes things get stuck and suck your battery dry if not caught. Usually a reboot will fix it. If it only happens a couple times....that's what's happening.

And why is that? BetterBatteryStats has an option to use root features if you want. In advanced settings. So install it and see how it goes. You're probably going to want to take a look at partial wakelocks to see what's killing your battery.

Hi, I also discovered this problem recently. Have you found the best solution yet?
Thanks
Hey guys, I got the same issue, so i'm reopening the thread since I can't find any clue on internet (everything is about fast drain because of lollipop)
My batterie goes instantly to 0% which result in a shut down of the device, it happens randomly, I am still trying to guess what could cause it
Things to know : My phone is rooted, and I did change the screen (which means I touched the inside, and could be the connectors...
But since the guy before had this problem without any of those manipulations..
Here is a screen of the battery. It happens once a day at least if i'm not plugged (otherwise no problem when plugged)
My phone won't show that it's charging, but it is and it won't go past 50% I even factory reset it and same thing. Anyone else having this issue?
Are you using the charger and USB supplied by OnePlus?
Are you plugged into the wall and not charging via USB?
Yes and yes and still nothing.

Nope i somehow fixed it...used an app called battery calibration it said it was possible to calibrate battery below 100% and that worked...
I gave up on this, I simply traded my phone for a G3, the guy I traded said he would fix it, since he has his own shop.
After the Jan 6th Android 11 update for my Pixel 3 XL (installed last night - stock ROM, not jailbroken), my battery suddenly dropped to zero and refused to charge. Unplugging it would make it shut off immediately. See battery history here , I plugged it in before the update, ran the update, then when I came back it was at 0. This was plugged in the whole time.

It would sit at 0% while saying "charging rapidly". If I unplugged it, it would die.
Let it charge all night, and it ended up at 5% somehow. Not good. Pulling it off the charger, however, the batter percentage started to INCREASE! It got up to about 25% before I tried plugging it back in... At which point it steadily decreased again.
So, clearly my batter calibration is completely corrupted. Factory reset did no good, and looks like you can't wipe the system cache an more which was my first thought.
Unsurprisingly Google support was no help and wouldn't even take responsibility for repair cost despite it being clearly linked to their software upgrade.
Any ideas? Or am I borked?
What is the battery voltage? This will tell you it's actual charge state.
Try discharging until it auto shutdowns then fully charge it; recalibrate the dumb Android. Maybe someone knows a better way to recalibrate this?
Hard resets rarely solve this kind of problem; you need to find the root cause and correct it otherwise even if the hard reset works it will most likely only pop up again down the road.
A hard reboot be the most I would try. Even needing to do that indicates a apk or potential hardware issue. A good running Android never needs this.
Accubattery claims 4.227V at 69% charge, but lord knows how accurate that is. (Edit: I'm now up to 72% charge and it's claiming the same... So, yeah. Oh, and that +3% is without charging.)
Root cause is almost certainly some variable overwritten or system file corrupted during the Android system update, since it happened immediately after the update.

If the firmware doesn't have the same error... either that or go into the existing one and correct the mistake.
This is one of the reasons I'm not rooted. Too many loose ends... and very time consuming.
Maybe someone here has can help you in detail, good luck.
If jwoegerbauer is correct this only effects the battery % reported, not charging parameters or actual battery capacity. So it shouldn't harm the battery.
The charge level can be calculated by battery voltage which appears to accurate. I saw a chart for this but can't find it now.

My bad, sorry. You stated that.
It seems the update got corrupted or was badly coded.
I'm always afraid this will happen with auto updates as you have no control over the process or download.
You need to get it reflashed to the last working version for that phone. Or live with it as is.
Has anyone experienced the phone getting hot on the bottom area? Even casual usage such as scrolling through social media makes the phone kinda hot.
I included this picture to show where the area which gets hot first. I only noticed it recently.
Edit: I know the phone has overheating issues but I got concerned how it heats up in the bottom part first since the cpu is no the upper part of the phone, hence something else must be causing the heating issue

Do you experience any unusual battery drainage?
I'm no expert, but judging by your description, you should check what part of the board is there and what could possibly be making the heat.
From what I've read online, a batch of the phones is faulty and has **** cooling so it's basically a lottery.
On mine, there is no overheating even when playing GRID Autosport for an hour.

No not really, no unusual battery drain. If its on standby for the entire night, I'd lose around 4-7%. Fast charging still works and even has the decimals for the charging pop up. Im not really sure but what I heard is that the phone has a faulty IC that's why I'm concerned. Normally the part that would get hot would be the top part as it is where the processor is. But on the bottom, it's the charging port. It tends to get hotter down there first.

Is it hot like all the time or only when charging? Dang I'd be worried too!
Edit: If I were you, I'd open it up and try to figure it out. Maybe try to run it in battery saving mode to see if that helps?

A friend of mine told me to format my phone and I did. I don't know why but it kinda solved the problem. The bottom part doesn't overheat as much now. I also updated to the 12.5.5 build of global version.
i also got overheating issue but that because i used custom karnel with MIUI EU 12.5.5, well it is because the custom karnel not compatible with MIUI and will cause overheating. So i just flash back the stock karnel and its return to normal no overheating problem phone cool af and playing games not heating phone that much.
