I've got a UK Galaxy S, and am about to go to the USA on a holiday. As my battery life is absolutely rubbish (15 hours) I was hoping to buy a spare battery so I can contact my partner on the trip.
I tried ordering one from DealExtreme a month ago, and it still hasn't arrived (and they won't respond to my emails), given I go away tomorrow this is a bit of a hassle. I tried to source one locally but the places that could deliver seem to have it on backorder.
So my question is, do the US variants of hte galaxy S use the same battery, meaning I should be able to find it in a store over there? or should I head down to a phone shop and pay an exorbitant price for it..
I don't see them being any cheaper in the States from a 'phone shop'; but yes, they're all the same.
Hope I'm posting in the correct section, if not please move me mod :O
I've been looking for a new phone ever since my KP500 cookie dies every day if I don't charge it (standby time only 14 hours or so).
I currently am with T-Mobile and I plan to stay with them unless there is a better offer out there. I currently do not have a data plan but I plan on purchasing one as my family plan contract is up in December. I've been looking at a few phones, primary the HTC HD2 / Samsung Galaxy S II / T-mobile G2x.
My coworker has T-mobile and he says he has the unlimited data plan and said he doesn't need to pay for tethering. I was told AT&T Verizon and sprint charges for tethering to your computer. I just moved in to a new house but my area only provides me with ADSL from Verizon (max download 195kB/s) and I share it with 3 other people...(Save me FiOS~) But for now I was hoping if I get a data plan I could use my computer with it.
Today I saw this: hxxp://mobile.dailysteals.com/ Samsung Galaxy S II for $500 and wonder if that's a good deal. But I read this phone doesn't support T-mobile 3G/4G.
I also heard that the Nexus Prime is coming out before the end of the year and I have no idea what to do. Also Black Friday is coming up in 2 months and wonder if there will be any better deals.
Anyone any ideals? I'm tired of having my phone die on me before I go to sleep and having to leave it charging overnight since I leave for work early in the morning.
sgs2 has bad battery life because the power it uses which you get in return its speed. the other two you mention hasnt got good reviews as compared to the sgs2 and your looking years ahead if you were to purchase sammy.
I bought a Galaxy S6 edge from best buy online back in April or so. I haven't really been paying attention to my bills until recently and realized they never started charging me for the phone. I checked online and it says my phone is pending an AT&T next plan. Has anyone experienced this and what did you do about it? I don't really want to go to AT&T and complain that I'm not getting charged for it but I also don't want to be stuck with the phone if I go to buy a new one after my phone is supposed to be paid off. Thanks for your feedback and opinions!
Guys, there is time to change my Xperia mini PRO.
I am curious your opionion about idea of buying Nexus 5 today. Price is about 190$. Is it a good idea?
Do you know better phones at this price? This Marshmallow on N5 and bad reviews of N5x pushing me to N5.
Second question is about American version of N5 (D820). Does anybody use this model in Europe? Will this model work in Europe?
Thanks for answers.
I still have my N5 even though I've upgraded to an N6, and I would not hesitate to recommend the N5, especially if you can get it at a good price.
I've got Marshmallow on it, and the Doze feature seems to work well - I last charged it on 11th October, a week ago, and with the occasional check on it to make sure that the battery's ok it has dropped by only 21% to 79%, with an estimated 25 days left. That's with airplane mode on, of course, but still great performance.
The screen is still terrific, performance is great, and looking back I probably shouldn't have bought the N6 - I reckon that the N5 can still stand up to most of the flagship phones around today.
The added bonus of course is that you always have the latest version of the ROM, long before other vendors provide it.
Me, I'd definitely say go for it.
I just bought my second N5 on ebay for $185.
It was always one of my favorite phones. Bought it to use marshmellow.

Hey guys im looking for a good phone for about 450 dollars max and for me there are three options atm at this price tag the Galaxy S6 , Huawei Honor 8 and Sony X performance .
Wait until after MWC 2017. Prices may drop after upcoming phones are announced. If I had to get a new phone right now for $450 or less, I'd consider the Honor 8 (only if on sale for $300), Axon 7, or Nextbit Robin ($160 on Amazon!).
Or maybe OnePlus 3T if it isn't too big. I defo wouldn't buy S6 for 450$. And dont buy used one, if so! Isnt S7 for around 500$? In Europe you can get it for 470 € off contract.

The 3T is 510 dollars and has to be imported so it may have aditional taxes and the S7 is 560 off contract . If i had the money i would have bought the S7 Edge
nope, not worth getting the s6, battery is just too small and it has a lot of minor issues with battery drain, random crashes etc, especially on the AT&T unit. You would be better of getting a One Plus 3t or any of the newer phones. Plus they might already be running or will soon get Nougat
Just bought one a couple weeks ago and it's perfectly fine. Well, apart from the battery life, which is, quite frankly, poor. Everything else is perfectly fine and the camera is still top-notch. If, however, you can get the Honor 8 for the same price, I'd recommend you get that. Apart from the camera, it's a better all-rounder. I've recently had the Xperia X Performance and would not recommend in a million years, horrible phone. Battery life is poor, camera is weaker than competitors and I had loads of performance (!) issues and bugs/crashes/freezes. Tried all resets to no avail.
I use S6 for over a year now, my wife has one too. Not looking for an upgrade yet. Screen is fine, battery still holds a decent charge and we never had any crashes etc. Have a look at 2nd hand or refurbished units too. Or check OnePlus2. Have a look around for LG G5. I have a G5 along with S6 and would have a hard time if I was told to pick just one of those 2.
I wouldn't pick the S6. It's overall an ok phone. But the battery is a joke. 2600 mAh. It will be an everlasting battle for battery optimisation and as much screen on time as possible.
But as other people as mentioned, wait until the end of the month and maybe get the S7

2550mAh to be precise.. it's definitely a no-no for 2017... there's s7 or oneplus3T.
