Question NReal Air - Xiaomi Mix Fold 2

Hi all,
Can someone out there help me please? This NReal Air is so good and it would be a shame not to have it work on the excellent Mix Fold 2.
Situation:
The NReal Air does not display any images on the glasses themselves once I plug in the USB-C cable to the phone.
I have downloaded and installed the latest version of the app, Nebula
Once the glasses and phone are connected, a pop-up appears and says do I want to open the Nebula app. I click yes and the app crashes. I click no and nothing happens.
I have allowed all permissions available.
I have used Hidden Settings and allowed all permission available.
Note: The NReal Airs work with my Surface Duo 2. But the AR mode is not compatible.
I‘m not fussed about the AR mode but I would like to have the glasses at least display (mirror) the phone screen.
If you need any other information, please let me know.
Kind regards,

Another note: My Mix Fold 2 is unlocked and rooted with AndroPlus’s method.

That's an unfortunate limitation of the HW. the Mix fold 2 does not output video through the USBC port, this is why it is not working.
I am also very disappointed with this but i knew this before I bought the Mix fold 2.
Cheers.

Hello,
1. And for Oppo Find N, Nreal Air work or not ?
2. Can i use my Goggles 2 from Dji with Nreal Air for duplicate screens from Goggles Dji that i use for my Avata ?
Thanks for you help.

Hi, I don’t have a specific time for this but we will notify you when Air is released in more Europe countries. Maybe you can purchase Air from EE?
And Xiaomi Mi 9 SE is not compatible with Air, cuz it doesn’t support USB 3.0 and DP.

Thanks for the reply. So if i would purchase it from EE it would fully work if i had a compatibilible phone?

I am very sorry that I am disturbing you but is the POCO X4 Pro 5G 8/256GB a phone that would work? I know that it is not on the list of devices but maybe you know?

Sorry but POCO X4 Pro 5G is not compatible with our glass.

Hi,
as it looks now, you can’t really buy the nReal glasses from EE, unless you have a UK EE phone number and you’re lucky enough to make their online shop miraculously work.
Quick side-note question: do the Samsung S10 glasses work with the Air?
nreal-dev
Aug '22
Hi, please check this list. Compatibility 254
Seems only S10 (SC-03L(docomo)) is compatible with Air.

Got it, thank you. Can a Samsung S10 owner still use the Air in DP mode, as a mirrored display? I’m thinking it could be used with Samsung DEX for a nice private desktop experience and I would tottaly buy it for this alone.

Aug '22
Samsung S10 has DP Alt output, so Air can work as a mirror display and also work normally under Dex mode. And you can check the following link for operation.

Hello, I looked at the compatibilities but I did not find my model (Xiaomi mi 10t pro), is it compatible with? Also if he doesn’t, can he be later? Finally I would like to make a workstation in its primary purpose is it possible to display the screen of my computer directly?

Hi, it is because the Xiaomi MI 10T pro doesn’t come with DP output. Also, we don’t test the workstation, not sure if it works perfectly. But if the workstation comes with DP, you can try it.

Btw, telling people in Europe to try a store in the UK isn’t very helpful since the UK isn’t in the European Union anymore. We’d be forced to pay VAT and import taxes and everything which would make an already expensive British Pound even more expensive! (The Nreal Air is 399 GBP which is about €450, a VAT of 21% and then the import taxes, which vary by country. For example here in Spain it’d be 2.5%. So in total the Nreal Air would be €555!)

Really sorry about it. We will try to expand the overseas market to meet the request of Air glass for European regions.

Hello,
I got Nreal Air glasses for myself and I’m located at Netherlands.
I have the glasses tested with Nreal adapter on Nvidia Shield 2017 and i can tell it works ok, but it’s a pity that adapter is discharging and there is nothing to let you know to save your game at GeForce Now for example. It’s just shutting down.
Because I’m at different country than listed, I can’t use Nebula.
I got Poco F2 Pro and Xiaomi Mi Max 2. They aren’t new phones, but they supposed to have a video output through USB C port.
It would be great to be able to run Nebula on them.
I decided to check the list of the phones that are supported by Nreal and I decided to check if my Nreal Air glasses will work with Samsung Galaxy S10e, because I got one in my range. I have found this phone model is listed for Spain and Germany.
Guess what.
Even if I got a supported Samsung Galaxy S10e (at Netherlands) can’t use Nebula:
from Play Store, can’t install app because of country/region limitation
downloaded apk can be installed, but is giving same error like for any unsupported phone.
First question:
Is there any solution from Nreal about how to keep on playing on the console and maybe charge Nreal adapter at same time?
Second question:
When if ever Nreal is going to get open the country/region Nebula LOCK?
Third question:
If there is a way to use Nreal Air glasses with consoles through Nreal adapter and HDMI cable, where is support for pc/laptop HDMI output?

It’s the same. While the official international name is iwork 10 ultimate. The model number is i15 T. But you must be careful . There is a version with Windows 10 alone, and a dualboot version along with android.

actually i will definetely buy the dual boot version, and if i can flash an android version (without windows) it will be the best.
As far as i know it is very dangerous to flash a tabloid like this,
i will expect some fresh ideas from this forum, how can i put a new rom when it will be available.
I'm torn between this and the Chuwi HiBook, also a 10.1 inch tablet PC. This one seems to be a little cheaper, $175 at geekbuying while the HiBook is $239.
What do you guys think?

Is Vivo NEX a success in sales?

Vivo is top brand in china right now. I wonder how much of this is a result of Vivo NEX ?
I think if they would lower price a little a lot more people would buy it.. like 100 dollars cheaper or something would make big difference in sales

Well actually BBK group is the largest Chinese manufacturer and includes Vivo,Oppo and OnePlus.
And all of three produce high cost smartphone even in mainland China.
Vivo and Oppo selling majority in Asia and OnePlus in Europe and India.
And even higher cost devices produced their between the top brand in China(Vivo-Oppo) and OnePlus in India and Europe.
NAM = North America, LATAM = Latin America, MEA = Middle East, CEE = Central & Eastern Europe, WE = Western Europe, APAC = Asia-Pacific

I dont think nex 2 will have this solution, I think they just want to try it out and see how people perceive it.
Right now there is too many compromises with a dual screen. When it does not affect thickness, battery capacity and price its a better idea.
overall I think Lenevo Z5 did do a better job it looks more stylish, nex version looks like a prototype in comparison. And the circular Selfie light does not look good at all even if it is functional
One thing is sure dual screen version won’t have the same success as original Vivo Nex.
Simple Vivo experiment with futuristic design and unique style but as much gorgeous is dual screen display has many disadvantages over original Vivo Nex.
The real successor of Vivo Nex will be unveiled sometime in May or June and will have newer Qualcomm 855 SOC and hope 1-2 improvements for example waterproof ip67/68 certification or stereo sound and NFC.

I hope Vivo Nex will follow same pop up design , I hope it does not jump into the slide trend.
Pop up solution will hopefully be easier to convince people that it is reliable after from what I have seen no reported problem on failing motors on the selfie camera. Its good that Vivo offer different type of solutions rather then just putting all money into one solution, I like when they give us choice, which has been less and less the last years since the statistics of high volume sells have become more important for manufactures they want to have less models so they can brag about they sell more then iphone etc rather then offering more models how it was in the past. Huawei did do a good job offer a real phablet size of mate 20 x .
People in general think the pop up camera is a cool solution but the general consensus from the people is that they think the motors will break over time. Of course only time can judge that, I think people are way too skeptical about it, most people don't have their phone more then 2 years, the battery will be worthless in 2 years so I would worry more about the battery personally.
Even if we ditch the motorized solution, I dont think we should adop the slider solution, it compromises too much of the robustness of the general body, also makes it more vulnerable for dust and dirt. A spring based solution for the pop up camera is also and idea. What most people are worried about is that if the motor dies the camera gets unusable, to send into service is not a option since vivo dont have service centers outside china more or less, but in case the motor go bad there should be a spring inside so you can atleast pop up the camera with the spring when you push at the pop up area of the phone. Otherwise all we can do is see and wait how well the motors pass. Personally I have not been using the selfie camera alot of times ,I doubt I have even open it 1000 times in the last few months for instance. If you use snapchat alot and have not blocked selfie camera access I guess this number will go up fast.

Question [TB132FU] Future Custom Rom support for new variant of Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022

Hello together,
recently Lenovo has launched a new 2022 variant of the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro Tablet [TB132FU]. (also known as Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2)
This variant ditches the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 in favor of a Mediathek Dimensity 1300T. Performance wise these two SOCs should be basically on par.
It can be purchaded directly by Lenovo: https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/tablet...o-tab-series/Tab-P11-Pro-2nd-Gen/p/ZAB50194GB

The kernel source of the global variant was already released.
(--> see: https://support.lenovo.com/de/en/solutions/ht511330-lenovo-open-source-portal)
So i do have the following questions right now:
Does anybody own this device at this time? Is it a good purchase compared to the other variants.
How likely are Custom ROMs for this device, as a global version with kernel source is available?
Does the mediatek chip have any drawbacks in ROM development?
Best regards,

Hi,
Received mine Friday...it's a 8/256Go.
Nearly everything is very good :
- bright 2.5k AMOLED screen
- sound
- performances (far better than Pro Gen 1)
- internal storage (average sequential read : 1.3Go/s)
- microSD card reader (tested on a 256Go)
- light weight
What is less good :
- face unlock doesn't work in darkness
- fingerprints marks on back
- lack of audio jack
Nevertheless, I doubt you will get many custom ROM as it is :
- probably not a best seller even if I think it's one of the best tablet...0 tests yet in media
- it's Mediatek's based...devs used to dislike that (there are some exceptions : for exemple Redmi Note 8 Pro)

is it pentile display ? does the display look sharp ?
Can't be sure about pentile...despite I try a 50MP shot on the screen with my smartphone...
In my opinion, it's sharp...I used previously a 10" 2560x1600 IPS screen (no-pentile...Teclast T10), I can't see any difference about sharpness.
Overall, P11 Pro Gen 2's screen feels far better than T10's (colors, brightness...)
I can't wait for my set. I ordered the 8/128 GB variant.
From the internet research, the 8gb variant should come with extra features like 10bit color and SD870 SOC instead.
I could not confirm that until received. Anyone could confirm this?

I see. Meaning what you have is with global ROM.
My set is china ROM and on its shipping route. Possible later this week will received it. Heard we could just enabled it, but I could not sure the procedure.

I have now also ordered the European version of this variant here in Germany, it has arrived today. There was only one option available, which is the 256/8GB version with the Mediatek chipset and global ROM (including Play Store) already installed.
As I understand it, the global version of this tablet always comes with the Mediatek chipset, the QC SD870 is for other markets. This would also mean that the global ROM will only function on the Mediatek chipset and not on the Qualcomm.
I can also confirm, that there is support for HDR10 and even Dolby Vision.
MTK 1300T had global rom , but no solution for flash
Do anyone have the keyboard too? If the keyboard detached from the tablet, will it still work,
What I wish to achieve is to have the tablet lifted and hold on a holder which is higher perhaps on the eye level, then having the keyboard on the desk for typing.
If it won't work, then need to order a BT keyboard for this purpose.
Thank you.
Keyboard isn't available yet in my country...only pencil is.
But...as tablet has physical connectors, I think keyboard doesn't work if not connected.
I think I will go for a Bluetooth keyboard too...and a usb-c to HDMI wire.
I tested the Type C to HDMI and it work perfectly.
I still not figured out on how to use the Lenovo One to mirror my Xiaomi tot he tablet.
Anyone notice the screen is kind of uneven when you are in the minimum brightness? It had red hue on the left and right.
I notice that on movie watching at night on my bed and check the rest, seems it is affecting everywhere.
If you turn on the DC backlight, the red hue effect is more obvious.

I just got mine a couple of days ago and I'm very happy with it so far.
I'm just now trying to understand if there's an easy way to root it.
I 've tested a mini bluetooth keyboard, able to switch to AZERTY on P11 Pro (works on "standard" Android, but it's not possible on some devices like AndroidTV or Fire Stick)
As I prefer something without physical connectors,
I ordered a bigger bluetooth keyboard, and a USB-C to HDMI...
Find one with trackpad. Size is very close to P11 Pro

I think I will build a case.
For your English ROM, what is the Android version?
Mine China ROM, and it is Android 12. Too bad it is not Android 12L.
Yes it's still Android 12...tweaked with a productivity mode...
Heard 12L, then 13 and 14 will be available
Yes, Android 12 - Build number TB132FU_S000073_220816_ROW.
Due to China ROM, I do not have Productivity Mode but Study Mode. I had to learn to adopt to it.
But I'm actually feel that Productivity Mode is more useful.
My tab model is TB138FC and yours is TB138FU. As I researched, TB138FU is using MediaTek Kompanio 1300T where the TB138FC is using SD870.

Question Does your S23 have camera issues? Blurred image? Bananagate? Other problems?

I'm opening this topic to get this information to all S23/S23+ users.
We have a serious problem with the camera and Samsung has come to say that it is a feature and so far Samsung has been washing its hands and not pronouncing itself, not even issuing a statement about this problem.
Is your S23 good? Vote!
Almost 6 years separate the OnePlus 5T from the S23+ and still, the 5T gets better definition and focus, despite the fact that the 5T already has enough problems with the Camera.
But Samsung continues to say that it is a function and characteristic of the lens of the S23+ what is clearly seen in the "banana" effect is a circle of blur, perhaps not because of the sensor but because of the poor construction of the lens. I, like many others, feel cheated for having bought the S23.
Look at the photos and draw conclusions.

OnePlus 5T
Samsung S23+
5T vs S23+
Yes. Very bad photos if you dont hold the phone completeley still. Also in apps like snapchat, it takes 2 seconds to capture the photo, which is often completely blurred (not out of focus, but a preview of two secs before tapping the shutter button)
S23 (non +) user here. My phone's been suffering from the very same issue and in 90%+ of all the photos I have taken with it so far you can clearly spot the 'banana-spahed' blur at first sight without having to pixel-peep.
The phone itself is amazing.. yet the cameras turned out to be a huuuge letdown. Never seen such inconsistent, over-sharpened and over-processed images before. And then there's the blur which ruins pretty much every image taken (even more). My 2016 LG G5 takes better and sharper images than my S23..
Can someone that also uses snapchat confirm my issue please? It can't be just me...

Sure
My S23 256mb arrived yesterday and today I returned it!
It had horrible focus and the bananagate effect too!
My old Honor 8 from 2016 focus better on close subjects than S23.
I refuse to believe this is normal on a 2023 flagship!

It's sad to say, but from 2020 smartphones have gotten worse and worse, the S23 is not worthy of a flagship, the camera has issues and Samsung just won't admit it.

Draw your own conclusions
Yep that's what I've experienced too!
I tested the S23 against my Tablet S8+ / Pixel 6a / Honor 8 and all of them took clean focused pictures of documents. This situation is important to me because I digitalize a lot of documents like this.
The Samsung official position about this is that it is a normal effect and for this kind of utilization we must take the photo using the 2x or 3x option with the phone far from the paper. I refuse to believe this.
But even assuming that the 2x or 3x method solves it, this problem does not end here (on close up shots) because there are reports of image blur in the same sensor place (left side when in landscape) when shooting normal daily photos.
Another report I did read but did not test, is that if we put that same A4 paper on a wall (instead of a table) and take the photo with the phone vertically, the banana effect does not occur! Can anyone test this scenario? If this is true it blows out of the water the theory of 2x/3x and takes it to a mechanical problem due to gravity orientation of the sensor or other camera component.
I have been using my S23+ for two months now and no issues on camera like that...

But I believe it was made here in Brazil, where I live.

The country where your device was made is printed on the box, on the sticker where you can also see the IMEI.
PT: amigo está na caixa, na etiqueta onde se pode ver o IMEI
Well I don't have that kind of issues. Images are all good and focused (no blur on the side), only in snapchat it has some kind of shutter lag for like 2 seconds.
