Hi everyone! I'm quite new to XDA, I've seen some posts from here and I thought I'd ask here so maybe you can help me:
Some days ago my phone crashed, showed me a black screen and gave a deafening sound (I was listening to music). But I was able to restart it and didn't think much of it, until it happened later again, but I wasn't able to restart it immediately, I had to wait like 20-30 minutes. Yesterday my phone crashed and I was only able to restart it today, after about 12-14 hours. On many occasions the screen glitches, and crashes and most of the time I end up with a gray screen with little blue dots on two vertical lines: one line on the left side of the screen and one in the center of the screen.
Any ideas why this might be happening?
I have a closed bootloader, but I have USB debugging and OEM unlocking enabled, maybe it will help debugging next time the crash happens? I wasn't able to find anything using logcat, but I'm far from being a pro so I'll attach a new logfile so you can take a look at it (it's not finished, I'm still waiting for the crash to happen, I'll upload the new file if something happens).
Thank you very-very much in advance!
Edit:
Some additional information about my phone:
- OS: MIUI Global 13.0.3 (SJUEUXM) / Android 12 SKQ.211006.001
- Model: M2102J20SG
- Version: 8GB/256GB

Grey screen: your phone is close to death, bring it to a service center.
Bring it to nearest SC or you'll regret it.

Received this phone (THL W8S) 5 days ago, and straight out of the box it has had a serious issue where the phone will lock up, the screen will fade slowly to black, and then reboot itself. The problem occurs both after factory resetting AND in safe mode.
The phone is unrooted and running the stock ROM.
Basically during use, the screen suddenly becomes unresponsive to touch and the physical buttons (home, volume, power) all stop functioning. As soon as the phone locks up this way, the screen slowly fades to black over about 60 seconds, at which point I have to leave it to fade completely before it reboots itself.
It happens most frequently when using any browser (stock, or otherwise) taking from less than 5 seconds to around 5min before the random lock up occurs) but also happens when scrolling through messages; scrolling through emails in either of the stock apps; using a compass app which came pre-installed (very quickly).
Initially I thought it might have to do with WiFi, but problem also cropped up with WiFi off, using 2/3G. Then in troubleshooting also managed to get it to happen using the camera (lot of motion, and repeatedly taking snaps).
Also odd is that the batteries I received in the box were generic black ones, not the official stamped/logo'ed THL ones I've seen on every website and every unboxing of this particular phone. So while there's a possibility this may be a battery issue, the fact that the phone hasn't done this while using a more battery draining app (Beach Buggy Blitz; Rayman Jungle Run) makes me think this is a deeper hardware fault related to , although I don't know enough about voltages and such to rule it out completely.
I have a couple videos showing the problem, but unfortunately I'm not allowed to put the links here. Should both be easily found by searching:

if interested.
Any thoughts/views would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, I wanted to inform you that lately the reboot occur concurrently with application updates.
They are like your impressions.
Best regards
THL W8S the screen fade and reboot too!!
Hello!
I received the phone on 12 September. The screen faded from the first minutes of use. Yesterday I came three times. In "THL mobile store" recommend updating the firmware. But the update I have not found anywhere.
any suggestions
Thank you very much in advance.
Hi to all, I have recently bought a this phone and from the second day of life sometimes when a call is incoming (or a message) the phone freezes and reboot. Sometimes it happens also when I connect the phone to charger or when I press the button for turning on the display.
Phone is not rooted, rom is original.
I have already upgraded firmware to the latest version from Lenovo, but the problem still presents.
Model: Lenovo S820_ROW
Android version: 4.2.1
Baseband version: S820.V21, 2013/08/07 15:14
Build number: S820_ROW_8G_S121_131128
I've seen on Lenovo forum that there are others in my situation.
Does anyone have a solution or a workaround for this issue?
Thanks
Pago

After about 20 days of experiments, I noticed that the reboot issue was often connected to the screen lock part.
I have turned off this feature for one or two days, remembering to push the power button before putting in the pocket...
I now can say that this bug is extremely decreased, and it doesn't happen anymore during a call or a message.
I have downloaded a different screen lock app from market and disabled the internal.
It happened just a couple of time but I'm not sure that is connected to the lock screen app (Iphone5s Lock), I will try other apps
Just a few ago a call AND a message arrived in the same moment and the phone did what was supposed to...
Hope this helps
Bye

My Samsung Galaxy S6 G920F 128GB keeps crashing.
N.B.: This is also a bit of rant....
The device is unlocked and was flashed just after it was bought with the BTU firmware for minimal bloatware and crapware, and of course that B(r)itish Humor Since then it was updated several times OTA. It's running 5.1.1 right now.
OffTopic: Seriously Word, Exel, Powerpoint, OneNote, OneDrive. I didn't want any other apps on my phone... ESPECIALLY AFTER AN UPDATE ! ! ! In any case WTF SAMSUNG?
1. Symptoms
- Nature of crashes:
1.1 - Screen freeze
1.1.1 - If music is playing on internal speakers the device will emit a "noise loop", does also happen with headphones.
1.1.2 - After a freeze the device will:
1.1.3 - only restart if a soft reset is performed (DOWN and POWER pressed for 7 seconds)
1.1.4 - reboot
1.2 - Reset immediately without rebooting to lock-screen
1.3 - The device also freezes in Safe Mode (DOWN while booting)
1.4 ! - The device also freezes sometimes while charging and powered of: The LED is red and it does not react to POWER or HOME
1.5 ! - The device also freezes while on recovery menu (HOME and UP at boot)
1.5.1 - It even froze when factory resetting; I then did a soft reset and it rebooted with that blue screen with the Android; after a few seconds it added "Erasing...."; it rebooted successfully into ANDROID with lock-screen....
1.6 - If the device is charging a reboot will not be initiated; it's only powered off
1.7 - The phone also powers off sometimes
1.8 - Crashes at random intervals
1.8.1 - Some just after booting and before any SIM-PIN entry is possible
1.8.2 - Some take place after a few minutes of usage
1.8.3 - Very rarely does the device function longer than half an hour without a crash
2. Already tried (unsuccessful in eliminating crashes:
2.1 - Reset of cache (several times)
2.2 - Factory reset/Data wipe (several times)
2.2.1 - From recovery menu
2.2.2 - From settings
3. Other Symptoms:
3.1 - The device will not display "Starting Android Apps, or whatever it says..." on startup
3.2 - Sometimes it emits a disturbing crackling noise right after the lock screen; actually I kind of like it now, it gives you a nice warm feeling just like the old tube TV had that crackling noise...
3.3 - I think it has a shorter battery life for the last week or so, I might be wrong, or it might be due to normal usage
3.4 - It gets quite hot while fast charging, especially the OEM-MICRO-USB-TYPE-B-CONNECTOR gets very hot, so hot you would burn yourself if holding for a sufficient amount of time (probably more than a minute or two), I'm not sure if this is related to the original issue
As with capitalism one thing is sure: The next crash will come. While writing this( using the auto save feature) the device restarted more than a dozen times. The device goes from not usable at all to annoyingly usable.....
4. What might cause it:
4.1 - Something in CACHE or RAM or TEMP (temporary files on the file system) is not deleted as it should be.
4.1.1 - The other day I read that there is an issue with ENCRYPTION as the device will boot WITHOUT PASS CODE if it has crashed or shutdown due to lack of battery, maybe the issue is the same?
4.2 - Hardware defect:
-Maybe but: I had the issue a few months ago and a factory reset resolved it, but why not now?
4.3 - Maybe I'm using too much internal storage?
- Apple Music had ~30 GB and
- Videos ~40GB most ~100MB
- Music ~ 3GB
4.3.1 - Just some crazy thought: Does ANDROID have TRIM? If not might I have not left any free pages for it to write to?
5. What can be done:
5.1 - Continue using the phone
5.2 - Bring it back to shop (the phone came with a contract for two years) and try to get a new one, but how am I going to reproduce random crashes?
5.3 - Eventually buy an iPhone
- I'm actually not joking on this one; I will. But how will I put music on it, just how, how???
Thanks for reading. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi did you ever find a solution for this? I am experiencing the same thing, I even sent it to Samsung via RMA, but they could not find anything wrong. I got it back and it continues to freeze and restart.
Nah I returned it (to my carrier) while it was freezing and got a new one after two days.
Try to make a video so that no can argue that the unit is not broken or even better: Show it broken/freezing/restarting for no reason to the retailer where you have bought the phone.
Also depending on your jurisdiction you might have the right to a flawless product within a certain time frame i.e. EU: 2 years, AUS: 3 years.... besides the manufracturer warrenty!
Anyways good luck.
Hi everyone, I encounter an issue with my LED Cover since I forced update the internal firmware.
The reason why I wanted to update it is that when I installed it the first time, the linked app inside the phone got an update removing the ability to set up the bottom color line. 1 month ago, after having removed the case from my phone for 3 months and after having done one phone factory reset, I installed it again and it got the latest app version available (same as latest on ApkMirror at the same time).
I thought that the error of the colored bottom line could be due to the firmware of the case not being up to date, so I opened Advanced Features in settings, then Accessories, I tapped on About LED View Cover and it shows me there was an update available, I did it, and since then, there's a total corruption of which LED lights up when. As an example, when I close it, it should show me the time, but it randomly lights up LEDs (every light scheme seemed to be set at every time change, so my thinking about it is that the LED coordinates are corrupted in this firmware).
Do you know :
1 - if it's possible to flash back an older version of the case's firmware ?
2 - if it's possible to manually flash the right firmware update ?
3 - if it's possible to factory reset the case ?
Thanks in advance
Hi everyone, any new information ?
I have had a OnePlus 9 (Model LE2115) for a few months now but it frequently crashes when using the front or rear Camera (Default Camera app, Google Lens, Signal video chat, etc.). The device will lockup with a frozen screen and after 60 seconds or so it will go black. Then I have to hold down the power & volume buttons to get it into the boot menu and perform a full power cycle. If I boot the device into safe mode this issue seems to go away so I assume its software based since everything else is working fine with the device. OnePlus support unfortunately was of little help. The crashing unfortunately does not seem to be consistent since for example I can take 10-20 photos without issue and then on the 21st picture it will fail.
Android Version: 12
Build number: LE2115_11_C.63
I have tried clearing app cache on affected software and reinstalling applications as well. The device has not been rooted and in general is mostly unmodified.
Apologies if this has been posted before but I performed several searches and could not see anyone discussing my issue.
