Hi everyone, I encounter an issue with my LED Cover since I forced update the internal firmware.
The reason why I wanted to update it is that when I installed it the first time, the linked app inside the phone got an update removing the ability to set up the bottom color line. 1 month ago, after having removed the case from my phone for 3 months and after having done one phone factory reset, I installed it again and it got the latest app version available (same as latest on ApkMirror at the same time).
I thought that the error of the colored bottom line could be due to the firmware of the case not being up to date, so I opened Advanced Features in settings, then Accessories, I tapped on About LED View Cover and it shows me there was an update available, I did it, and since then, there's a total corruption of which LED lights up when. As an example, when I close it, it should show me the time, but it randomly lights up LEDs (every light scheme seemed to be set at every time change, so my thinking about it is that the LED coordinates are corrupted in this firmware).
Do you know :
1 - if it's possible to flash back an older version of the case's firmware ?
2 - if it's possible to manually flash the right firmware update ?
3 - if it's possible to factory reset the case ?
Thanks in advance
Hi everyone, any new information ?

Hello
Today I had a very bad accident with my LG G2 smatphone.
I had an official CM 11 on board. Wanted to update it to CM 12, found this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g2/development/5-0-2-cyanogenmod-12-t3037040
Downloaded, flashed, everything was fine. Then I installed SuperSU from the Play store. Next, opened the app and tried to install the components it needed. It failed. The app recommended to reboot. After rebooting, the screen was all white with dark corners, I was able to see the interface through the white layer, it looked like this one I found on Google: http://i.stack.imgur.com/gGYktm.jpg
After turning off and on the screen, the colors came back to normal, BUT there are now exactly five one pixel width black lines through the entire length of the screen.
Teriffied, I rebooted quickly to recovery (the lines are there aswell) and installed back CM 11 from the backup with senseless hope. It didn't help.
The phone was connected through the USB cable to my laptop all the time.
Couldn't find any fix to the problem, please help me, the phone is new and without warranty. (the guy that sold me it didn't say it was the ATT D800 one, I live in Europe so no warranty here, I guess.)

Its an incorrect firmware case. Don't worry. Simply restore it using the LG Flash tool and you should be fine. And remember, always go to CM12 site for most recent firmware files.

You you search, you'll find it is a common problem. It is likely related to overheating, and it is a permanent. Fortunately it is not so critical and you can live with it
Anyone having the same issue and have found a solution?
Phone suddenly stuck at some instances even with non-extensive usage.
Yesterday I was only using Facebook app. When messenger bubble pop up, my phone suddenly spiked. Moved once and then it got stuck already. You'll notice that it's not Facebook app only that's not functioning since nav. buttons are also stuck. You can't go press home and clear recent apps/hibernate apps. Power and volume buttons are also not functional.
So I assume the main system crashed. I only did a long press on power button to restart.
I installed Franco kernel r73, and thought that issue would only occur with stock kernel.
However, it occurred again today, I was viewing photos in Stock Photos app. I haven't started viewing the first 10 images yet, so memory should not be consuming that much. I turned on the auto rotate to view the image larger. When I turned the phone landscape, it reacted like it's about to rotate. And suddenly it got stuck. This time, power button is functional. It turns the screen on and off but it still turns to the same stuck screen, not the lock screen.
I've been experiencing this since 5.0.1. and almost everyday since I updated to 5.1.
I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue on my unit since mine is already about 1 year and a half old. I don't want to buy another phone yet!
Or is this a common issue nowadays due to Lollipop upgrade. If so, then could you provide temporary fix before they update this on 5.1.1.
Thanks a lot!
I had something similar . When I put forward the curtain hangs notice and then everything worked fine
Meh
I've seen this behavior on my Nexus 5 only on 5.1, and I'm pretty sure, it was introduced with that specific lollibug version. It's really annoying, that you have to reboot the phone every two or three days to avoid the freezes.
There's already in issue for that, it has got the ID 161032.
Hi everyone, I've look everywhere and I'm kind of desperate now
So, I've had my nexus 5 since it came out here in Europe, never had an unsolvable issue (thanks to the internet), but right now I'm stuck
MY PROBLEM :
One day (just like this, I don't remember doing anything special with my phone), the camera completely stopped working, along with the lamp.
DETAILS ABOUT THE PROBLEM (The situation right now) :
1. Camera doesn't show up in the application drawers
2. It DOES show up in Settings/Applications, and in "My applications" tab from Google Play, but I cannot open it in any way. When I could, however, it would just crash away.
3. I am also unable to access the stock lamp from anywhere (quick settings, etc.)
THE INITIAL SITUATION AND THE EVOLUTION OF THE PROBLEM :
1. I was running CM12.1 (nightlies) on my Nexus 5, and I beieve it occured after an update, but I don't believe it really has much to do with it. When I tried to open the camera, it would show me "unable to get a link with the camera" (translation may not be exact) and the system lamp had disappeared
2. I tried to downgrade the phone, to an earlier nightly, but it didn't fix it.
3. I've donne every kind of wipes : Data, Dalvik, Cache, even Internal Storage
4. After a full Internal Storage Wipe, I reflashed fresh Marshmallow images from the official website, unrooted, reflashed stock recovery, relocked the bootloader and used the system factory reset again on my phone.
5. After this, the problem changed a little bit. The lamp is still impossible to find, but however this time the camera is too. What I mean is, on CM, it used to show up and crash, now I can't find it in the app drawer (See DETAILS ABOUT THE PROBLEM)
I think that's all, so yeah, this one is kind of a challenge.
If the solution is software... Well i really dont know what I could try else; if it's hardware, I'm not afraid to open up my phone. (however I'm a complete noob)
One last thing, I've contacted Google, but the phone they sent me back was in such a bad state that I'm keeping mine (or getting them to send me an other), because the power button was really used, and the lowest part of the screen really "white" (brighter than the rest, my guess was it had fallen)
Thank you very much !
Hi, looks like we have the same problem. Unfortunately I have no solution for you, either. I have ordered a new rear camera from ebay that should show up here end of January. I'll let you know if that fixed the problem.
As you can see from my recent post, I am also having the same problem. I have also order a replacement rear camera from ebay and I fitted it. It worked for one day and then it also stopped working. I am not sure whether it is worth repeating this experiment or I'd just be wasting money on replacement cameras. So annoying, because, apart from the camera (and the torch), the rest of the phone functionalities are still perfectly fine.
Has anyone tried to use a different camera or torch app?

That's odd then. It seems like you've done nearly everything that should of been done. I'm at a loss for words here

When I take my LG G3 a year ago it was with Android 4.
I used a flip cover not original (not QuickCircle). When I closed the cover the phone screen automatically went off, thanks to the proximity sensor.
In the next week I touch the phone configuration and I don't know why the screen off stop working when I closed the cover.
I can't fix this problem so I used an App, AutoScreen OnOff, that allows me to have the same behavior. But the app spents a bit of charge.
Same mounts ago I downloaded Android 5.0 and the problem was fixed. I had the screen off without the App, when I closed the cover.
Last days I check (my language phone is in Italian):
impostazioni-->Custodia QuickCircle-->Auto-sblocco
and it stop working again. Probably this is the setting that brokes the setting last time too.
There is no way (setting and removing the QuickCircle setting) to fix the problem, so I have to use the app AutoScreen OnOff again.
How can I fix it making working as before I touched that flag?
My configuration is:
Android 5.0
build LRX21R
version SW F400L20o
Saturday my S7 Edge - stock ROM, no root - BSODed:
I picked Up my Phone but it wouldnt turn on the display. no reactions to any button or combo (forced reboot, download mode...).
LED flashed blue like a notification.
I let it run the battery low so it turned off (at least the LED went off).
It doesnt load anymore unfortunately, at least the display wont show anything. Still no reactions to any button when plugged in for hours..
I disassambled it and replaced the battery unit but no change.
Maybe somebody who has gone throughb this too or anyone with a hint?
What could be broken, so I could swap the parts from another one (i.e. a used one with broken display).. the disassably tutorials mention a a"logic board" (=mainboard?), could that be it and is there any hope to recover the internal storage?
Update:
I had to replace the logicboard, so either CPU / RAM / flash storage are broken. I bought another S7 edge with a broken screen for a few bucks got get the "spare parts" and followed common tutorials for disassembly. Phone is back to live now but wirh the "new" IMEI + flash drive.
I was lucky I had Google Backup enabled so I didn't lose any important information.
