Question Problem with charge - Motorola Moto G100 / Edge S

I'm facing a strange problem with my Motorola G100, android 12 original rom. When I connect the battery charger the charge js very slow: I check with the app Ampere and the charging current is about 80/100 mAh. I check with several chargers and cables, but I can't solve the problem.
I try also to clean the usb connector with compressed air and isopropyl alcohol, but it's still slow charging It take me two days to fully charge the battery.
Any solution?

the only thing I don't try is the factory reset, because is my main phone: reset it is a big problem, I should reconfigure a lot of app that I use for work

First things first, check the charging port with a flashlight for any debris and clean with a can of compressed air if you can
Next, uninstall any battery monitoring/behavior changing apps and try setting an alarm for +30 or 40 mins then plugging in to charge. The lock screen should say something along the lines of "xx% charge until yy" (yy = alarm time)
Lastly, check with the phone turned off

So I have had this happen multiple times.
1. Download Ampere which measures charging speed in mA
2. Next, do a battery reset
3. Once it's fully charged check the charging speed again.
This has worked every time it happened except once and I ended up doing the factory reset.
(also I know the instructions are for the G4 but it's worked for me on the G5, X4, and the G100)

Had exactly the same issue, Motorola said they cannot repair it and sent me a new phone.

Battery -6 hours charging - 49%! What is wrong?

I have another problem with battery. I charge TP for 6 hours. after that time it still showing CHARGING, round light bimkning and when I enter battery, it shows 50-70% and charging! when I make soft reset it show full and stop charging, anyone knows how to fix this?, I'm worring about my battery I have oryginal rom. Thanks for reply.
I know that it is in other tread but I try to find solution
Are you using the supplied charger?
This happened to me when I tried to charge it with a Motorola V3 charger.
yes, the original charger is one amper powered which is very strong, all other chargers I have in my car or whereever output much smaller amount in milliampers (starting from 200 mA even). BUT never forget that slower charging is always better to preserve battery durability

oryginal delivered with TP
How long did you charge it the very first time?
dificult to say, i thing over 8 hours, but battery is really ok, it keeps 2-4 days.
i think i got close to an hour wait for 3/4ths charge
so prob about an hour and a half for max???
I had this same problem yesterday. It was at 30% after 4 or 5 hours of charging, then after I reset it, it was at 100%...
had same prob. Fixed after hard reset

You sure you don't mean soft reset? some people make this mistake all the time and it makes for horrible advice to n00bs.

HARD reset help
I had this problem and was hesitant to do a hard resent and have to reload and re-enter all my settings.
Turns out I was charging through USB that was connected to a cheap hub that didn't supply enough power to charge the phone. Connecting my sync-USB cable straight to the computer fixed it all.
Silly oversight but it might help somebody with the same issue.
hmm, mine started doing this a few days ago...i do remember I used to have the usb charge hooked up directly to the computer but i noticed it was now connected to the usb hub. Let's hope hooking it directly to the computer fixes it...i can't rmember when i switched it to the hub ;p
EDIT:
yep, connecting it directly to the computer fixed it
Thanks!
even charging throught eh computer is slower than plugging it into teh wall. the usb charging only sends SOME of the power to the phone and therefore takes much more time than charging through a wall outlet...
Same thing happened to my wife's TP. Using Stock 1.90. When charging it would reach 85% and stop there irregardless of how many hours I charged it after that but after using the TP car charger it would resume the charge and reach 100%. So the TP would be normal for a few days and then the same problem would occur. Don't know why though but I would use the car charger to normalise it as soft resetting doesn't work.
Where as I'm using the Stock 5.05 euro without any probs....
i to have been having problems with battery life, and ive noticed as previously mentioned a significant differance between usb and mains charging. i charge my tp every night and last month i started to leave it on the usb rather than putting it on the mains in the bedroom. it was then i noticed a drastic drop in batterly life, after a full day at work (12hr approx) and average use ( txts/emails/games/vids) i wa left with only 10-15% battery. but when i returned to mains charging the same usage now leaves me with 45-55% battery. so now i just stick to mains charging through the night. just my 2 cents
This is what solved my problems...
Turn off your phone and plug it in to the wall, wait until it is fully charged. Then you can turn your phone on, and use it like you regularly would, but use it until you run out of battery, I mean 0%, it turns off randomly. Don't charge it again till it's fully drained.
Then fully charge it again, this time don't plug the phone back in until it reaches 1 or 2%.
Hope that helps!

yep, that's because the USB does not deliver the full power to teh device. that's why charging it via the supplied charger is much more efficient and powerful and lasts longer. USB should not be used to charge unless necessary for this reason
I had the same problem with I first got my Fuze. I even tried the ritual draining and recharging but nothing worked.
So I called AT&T and they swapped my battery for a new one. Problem solved.

Battery Stops Charging at 69%

Hi to all! I really need your help, the past week I notted that my phone just stoped charging the battery at 69%, I thought that the problem was the battery, so I buyed a new one yesterday and the problem is still there, I already wiped my phone to the factory settings, I have the official 4.0 and its very anoying
Someone can help me?
heh... 69....
Have you tried a different charger? maybe plugging into a computer and seeing if that charges it further?
I would imagine that a new battery and full on reset would help. How long have you had the phone?
Are you trying the factory cable/adapter?
Also, what teeg07 said, try another charger and try USB to computer.
If you don't get a charge on the computer and our in the front USB ports, try rear USB as SOME front SUB don't charge.
Try a complete Odin wipe/install, should fix the problem
Had another thought, not sure if it will help but it cant hurt.
Try wiping battery stats via recovery.
What are using to determine battery status? Menu... Settings... Battery. Or are you using a PlayStore app. I ask because market app "Battery Solo Widget" uses 69% as their default icon image... if using that, just reset your widget... If not, idk.
Let he phone charge to max, if it stops at 69, get battery calibration from the play store. It will show battery percentage and millivolts. It may say 69 but if the millivolts are at 4100mv or right around there, its full and you just Need to wipe battery stats.

Phone won't recognise charger

This is a strange one. When I connect USB to my computer the device shows up, I also get the option for USB tethering on the phone... however it does not indicate that it is charging. The charger works in other phones and I've even tried using a proper charger (i.e. not a usb cable).
Now the thing is, I'm not sure if it's not charging. When I turn the phone on I have 11% battery and get a notification about it and told to plug in a charger, and when I plug it in the message does not come back - although the battery % stays on 11.

They are installed on my PC yes, although I don't see what that has to do with it?
I'm asking the stupid questions first, lol...
Which USB ports are you using, try connecting to a port on the motherboard (proper +5V) if not?
I have the same problem with a nokia lumia 920 charger, the charger works in others phones and some time before works in my phone too

Like I said, I've tried using a direct mains charger too. The USB connection from phone to computer is fine as I can transfer files etc. It just won't charge regardless of what cable I use.
That said though, the battery has been on 11% for a long time. Makes me think that it has actually been charging (or else it would have decreased/died) and it's just the reading that is stuck? I've tried switching to icon mode then % but it's still on 11. Is there a way to recalibrate it? The phone is barely a month old so it's surely not a hardware issue.

When I got mine the battery hung on 31% for ages then dropped to 0% and rebooted. Since then I cycled it through a few times without connecting the charger until it was flat and then charged it to max and left it for a few hours at least. It came good after that and I've had no problems. According to Motorola to recalibrate the battery state it should be left for charge once fully charged for a few hours extra.
I've had mine for a few weeks.
It doesn't seem to change either side of 11% whether I charge it or not. I guess I'll just have to plug it in for a few hours and assume it's fully charged?
It took me ~4 and 1/2 hours to charge it fully using the 500mAh Moto charger from 0%, but I did it the other way around--I used it till it was flat first.

It actually says charging now, but it continues to say that even when I remove the charger.
Also my battery has finally dropped from 11% to 10%, that is after around 7 hours use...

That's very peculiar... It might indicate something wrong at the firmware level. You are running the standard ROM, are you?
I'd advise to jump some factory resets / firmware (re)install hoops.
I'm running Beanstalk ROM but the creator is already getting very cranky with me for suggesting it might be a bug in that
Unless you can reproduce the behaviour with the stock firmware, Beanstalk is the prime suspect.
But it could be a file/driver corruption, hence the suggestion to reinstall.
Same problem with XT1033 on Stock 4.4 ROM
on stock 4.4 ROM same problem i am facing, even after 1-2 hours charging its showing same % of battery.
but after a restart its coming to normal condition & shows charging icon.
I charged my phone last night (still on 10%), brought it out with me and during use it cut out and would not turn on. I kept trying to turn on by either pressing power on or pressing power & vol down. A couple of times I got to the bootloader but that was it. When I got home I plugged it into a charger and it came up with a white screen with an empty battery graphic.
Now my phone will not turn on no matter what I do, even when plugged in.

one plus one charging taking forever !!!!!

I own a one plus one handset and its a year old.Since a mnth the handset is taking 4 hrs 2 charge instead of 1 hour 30 mins .I am using the og charger provided by the cmpny.Plz help!!
I had the same problem.then i changed usb cable that is 2.4amp cable then it's fine & faster charging...you should have to change cable or charging adapter

Try sultan rom, i used to face similar issue but once i installed sultan's rom it started working fine ( or if you have twrp recovery try wiping dalvin and cache)
or some one posted some temporary solution on oneplus forums , try this (i am copy pasting the same)
I encounter the same problem with charging time and input amp after Marshmallow update. I use Battery Monitor Widget app and notice that the current flow range from 500-900mah, which means only 50% from the adapter potential and make the charging process twice longer and at the same time the phone doesn't generate too much heat while charging.
I did factory reset, clean install the system, change the cable, format the cache partition but the problem still exist.
Later I found the solution,
1. Install the Battery Monitor Widget app to monitor the charging amp history.
2. Leave the phone charge for a while.
3. If the current flow only range from 500-900mah, unplug the charge adapter and plug it in again.
4. Leave the phone to charge again so the Battery Monitor app can record the charging amp.
5. Keep doing the same process until you get 1000+ mah.

Check if the power socket is proper also if the cable that you are using is not getting degraded. if so try with some other good quality cable and it should be back to quicker charging. Also as old your phone gets slower its charging will be due to chemical processes in a battery.
If you are rooted install Synapse app from marketplace . Go to miscellaneous section and change ac power level value to 2000 .
I have to agree with flashing another ROM.
Try jgcaaps' Marshmallow build from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/rom-cm-12-builds-t3045053
Then download Kernel Adiutor mod from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/kernel-adiutor-mod-singularity-kernel-t3333549
Set up the ROM then the Kernel mod next.
Run the Adiutor Mod and click the 3 line menu.
Scroll down to Power & Battery.
Change the AC Charge Level to 1800.
Change the USB Charge Level to 800.
These charge levels are ideal to extend the battery life. I hope this helps.
Try another decent cord. The cord I got with my oneplus power bank thing started charging very slowly a few months ago so I threw it away and started using the USB I got with my nexus 7. It works just as well as it used to now

OP6 Dash charge stop working when the battery 84-86%

May be the cable, happened to my when dash charge works 1 time / 10 and after wiggling even if the cable was in perfect conditions, i bought a new one a'd now it works, try another cable from a friend if you have before you buy a new one
Above 80% charging, usually the charger is slowimg down by the Ampere..
But the lighting icon is still there as the sign of the dash charge
