Before saying anything read please
after each reflashing I did wipe battery stats, dalvik cache data everything.
Used mcgyver stuff to get my batt on again, as it was displayed in the first picture of the thread I did it and I managed to get a full sbf working but a ? sign appeared followed by a "invalid battery" It discharges no matter if I try to charge it by usb or by charger... Tried reflashing with mcgyver but the problem persisted.
Found this http://modmymobile.com/forums/3691471-post79.html
it was very usefull it actually charged my phone battery around to 60% (that is what it displayed) so I did a reflash with the phone battery and without using mcgyver stuff but guess what?! the problem was still there..
with the 60% I managed to install cm7 in case it would solve something but the ? sign was there, changed to % and it displayed 33% and when I connect it to charger or to usb it did as it was charging (remained in 33% but the bar was goind upwards) after a while it was still 33% it auto-rebooted and was 5% then I shut it down and Its dead again
any ideas? thank you If I'm not able to solve this going to start thinking of getting another android phone lol
Don't think it's a dev related question, but...
I think you damaged your battery trying to do mcgyver trick. Just buy another one.
Earlier today I stupidly plugged my tablet into another usb charger. At first it did not work, but the tablet then proceeded to jump right from 26% to 99% charge, and the battery life seems severly reduced. Another attempt to charge saw it do the same jump, this time with the original usb wall charger. After restarting and burning a bit of the life down with the screen on full brightness, etc., the tablet proceeded to then charge to 99% again, this time after half an hour.
I spoke to Samsung customer services, and their advice has not helped. What is wrong with my tablet?
Currently I'm a college student without a computer, so this tablet is my one hope right now. I can't lose it.
Have you let it go dead before charging it back up? If so, maybe install CWM and reboot to recovery with battery showing fully charged. Go to advanced and wipe battery stats and reboot. Hopefully this helps.

Is this a battery problem, or possible a phone problem? Running CM10.1 with the Marla kernel.
USB connection is recognized
Battery does charge when the phone is OFF
Battery does not charge when the phone is ON
Battery charges for about 15 seconds when the phone is ON, then goes into a "not charging" state.
I'm assuming at this point the battery is bad, I ordered some new batteries but I'd like to make sure it's a battery problem and not a kernel or ROM issue.
**update
The battery won't even hold a charge when the phone is powered off
The battery won't hold a charge when it's out of the phone.
Conclusion: Battery dead. Will update when I get new battery.
It's not the battery. I replaced the battery. The phone won't take a charge when it's on because I think something in the OS is keeping it from charging. It still charges when it's off. Any ideas?
Did you try a different cable/charging block?
Have you tried wiping data and cache/ full factory reset?
Then load stock UCMC1 and do another factory reset.
That should rule out the os/software related issues.
If the problem still persists after the above steps then it might be your logic board/hardware issue.

My Samsung GS2 Skyrocket is about a year old and when I updated to Android 4.1.2 a few months ago, my battery meter went wonky. At first, it would show a max charge of about 75%, even if the battery was at 100%. Swapped it out with an identical battery from my husband's identical phone and the "new" battery still only showed 75% and when my husband put the "old" battery into his phone, his phone showed an accurate reading on the battery. Over time, my phone has dropped the maximum charge percentage down to 3% and the phone behaves as if this is the correct reading. I just swapped batteries out again, and my 3% battery magically became a 100% battery and the battery I swap with went from 87% to 3%. We've done 2 factory resets, tried turning the phone completely off when charging, truned off only wi-fi while it was charging and nothing has worked. As soon as you disconnect it from the charger it shuts down. I have tried 2 other battery widgets and they ALWAYS agreed with the Samsung meter. Any ideas? I'm using my daughter's old SG2 that has other issues of its own and we've run out of things to try.
Thanks for any assistance!

I don't really believe in battery calibration, but its still worth a try. Look it up on XDA. Will post a link as soon as I get to a PC.
You could also try flashing ICS 4.0.3 and see if the issue persists. If yes, it must be a hardware problem.

If I remember correctly battery calibration is not mandatory on the SGS2 because once the battery is depleted and charged full to 100% - the "meter" is reset. Do not unplug the phone as it reaches 100%, let it rest for some time before unplugging.
Connect your phone to computer.
Delete all the unwanted files and folder from both memory card and internal memory.
Go to recovery by pressing volumeup+Centre button+ power and clear cache, and if you are able to go to advance then clear battery stats.
Restart the phone with charger on and let the full charge to happen and report back.

I'm going to let my husband do that - he's the elecronics wizard, not me! I'll let you know how it goes!
When to disconnect?
When do I disconnect the phone from my computer? Do I leave it connected the whole time?

Disconnect after deleting the files from the internal memory. Enter recovery with it unplugged and then connect to charger as it's booting out of recovery.

Tried all of the suggestions and nothing has worked. Looks like I'm in the market for a new phone....
Take the phone apart and check connections to the USB board. I'm betting hardware failure of your USB board it's a relatively cheap part you could replace in a few minutes after obtaining one.

Super! We'll give it a shot. Thanks!

Was going through the whole thread again and realized that I didn't try to reflash to 4.0.3, as someone suggested. Can anyone point me in the correct direction to do this?
Thanks!!!!

Have you tried recalibration yet? People say it doesn't work but always has worked for me.
1. Kill your battery to zero.
2. Leaving the phone off, charge it to 100%
3. Turn it on with it still at 100% and download the battery calibration app (assuming you're rooted) and press the calibration button. 4.Restart it and pull the charger as soon as the screen shuts off.
5. Use the phone until it dies and shuts itself off.
6. While dead, plug in charger and turn it on. Wait til it hits 100% or keep it plugged in for at least two and a half hours.
7. Unplug it and should be working just fine! If not, it's a hardware issue.
I've had problems with the battery meter with some ROMs, so it could help by doing a full wipe and installing another ROM or the same one.
I hope this helps, cheers!
Dear all,
I have a very strange issue which starts to be really annoying.
My N5 (which was recently updated to 4.4.3) works normally. If I charge it using the wall plug (usb inserted inside the wall plug) everything works perfectly and the N5 shows how much is it charging and how much battery is left.
If I charge my N5 using only the USB cable, connected to my PC, the N5 is still charged but I cannot see it on the phone. Let me explain. If my N5 is 50% battery and I put it to charge using the USB cable. I do not see the percentage increase. As well once I remove the USB cable I wont see any decrease in the battery percentage. The only way to bring it back to normal is to switch off and back on the phone to see the updated battery percentage.
Is there any way to fix this. Rebooting my phone multiple times a day is really annoying.
Thank you for your time
Regards
Up
Anyone?
You don't have any charging animation or the percent doesn't increase? Because charging through a USB connexion doesn't provide a lot of juice so you are maybe consuming the same energy.
The phone is actually charging. In fact if I restart the N5 after a whole night charging it will show full charge.
Still I am obliged to restart the phone to show the battery charged, otherwise it will stuck at the percentage it was when I put it to charge.

Id try battery widget reborn. I know its not getting to the root but id bet it works.
Please fix the F/C on this application. Thx.
