Earlier today I stupidly plugged my tablet into another usb charger. At first it did not work, but the tablet then proceeded to jump right from 26% to 99% charge, and the battery life seems severly reduced. Another attempt to charge saw it do the same jump, this time with the original usb wall charger. After restarting and burning a bit of the life down with the screen on full brightness, etc., the tablet proceeded to then charge to 99% again, this time after half an hour.
I spoke to Samsung customer services, and their advice has not helped. What is wrong with my tablet?
Currently I'm a college student without a computer, so this tablet is my one hope right now. I can't lose it.
Have you let it go dead before charging it back up? If so, maybe install CWM and reboot to recovery with battery showing fully charged. Go to advanced and wipe battery stats and reboot. Hopefully this helps.

ok, so I'm running faux's rom and I have run CM 7. I have tested this a few times and each rom and it seems to help improve battery life.
Since the drivers are screwy I noticed when I charged my phone it would say 100% but I would unplug it and it would drop down to 97% right away. I think the lower number is the accurate one, So the battery really isnt getting fully charged because the phone thinks it is so of course it will die sooner
So what I did was let it charge to 100% then unplugged it, it went down right away. I plugged it back in and it started charging again, in a few minutes it showed 100%, I unplugged and it showed 97%, so I kept repeating this then eventually I unplugged and it was 98%, then eventually 99%. After doing this my battery lasted a lot longer. I usually have keep an extra battery on me and usually have to switch but for the first time my g2x lasted the whole day! So give this a shot.. it could help if you suffer from really bad battery life.
Off topic.
Im From Southern California...be visiting New York on Monday. Good stuff...small world some times.
could unplug, then turn off, plug in and charge while off for a while, the unplug and turn on, then plug back in and let charge. then wipe batt stats and unplug. works for me.
I have one extra battery. I never charged my phone through the charger it came with. I always charge my battery with the portable charger. No doubt the portable charger takes 6-8 hours to fully charge my battery, but on the upside my battery lasts for more than a day.

I noticed a similar thing recently. I generally charge my phone overnight while I'm sleeping and use it for an alarm clock. One morning I decided to reboot my phone (my experience is that it needs a reboot every couple of days or various things stop working) before I got up, so I powered it down, still plugged into the charger. I then tried to power it on, but instead of the boot screen I got the device-off charging animation, indicating that it wasn't fully charged, even though it had said 100% before I powered it off. After letting it sit and charge while off for another hour or so, I booted it, and I think I got exceptionally long battery life that day (although my days are all so different it's hard to compare one to another).
I think bump charging does help, but its not good for your battery in the long run

well hopefully they fix the driver issues so we wont have to do it too much longer One can hope right? hahaha
My battery has started acting strangely for quite a while now. Essentially what happens is that when I try to charge it, it usually jumps straight from around 50% to 100%. Then, when I unplug it, it will act as if it is discharging normally for around 5%, then it'll jump down to around 45% and discharge normally. And it doesn't happen consistently, once in a while it will charge properly. It happens whether I am using a wall, car, or USB charger. I believe it started when I installed a nightly of CM 7.2 a while back, but it's still happening to me in SBF'd 608, and it could have started when I was still on CM 7.1. I downloaded a battery calibration app, and tried that several times, but it didn't help. Does anyone have any advice?

That will fix the symptoms, but I was hoping to figure out how to actually fix it. The battery charges perfectly fine in another D2G, and it charged fine in mine on 608 last night, so it's not the battery. It looks to me like a software issue. I'm going to see if it keeps doing alright on stock, and if it does, I guess I can assume it's a Cyanogen issue. Or an issue with my install of Cyanogen, anyways.
Use another d2g to charge the battery to 100%, then put the battery into your d2g, start up the phone, plug in the charger for about 15 minutes, delete /data/battd and /data/system/batterystats.bin, power off the phone without unplug the charge, after the phone finished power off, unplug the charger.start up the phone and use it normally to it automatically power off, fully charge the battery without start up

I've been having issues too with my droid 2's battery lately, not the same exact issue you are having, but it's like when I plug it to the wall to charge, sometimes (randomly and not often) it won't recognize my battery and won't start charging and a '?' icon will appear on the battery (if the phone is turned off). I've been reading about this and people say that if you 'calibrate' your battery, the problem will be gone, so check in the Google Store for a battery calibration app and follow the steps. Good luck on it !

I have a regular samsung battery and an extended battery for my infuse. Throughout the day i will be using the phone and it will shut down and then flash the ibfuse charging wheel and then show an empty white battery with no charge.
I have found other posts online that say to pull the battery and when you put it back in to immediately plug in a charger and it boots up. This works for me every time however it is very annoying when it does this five to ten times a day. And it happens with either battery. Both batteries do this when fully charged.
I am getting a new phone soon and blowing this one up with a stick of explosives. But any known fix would be appreciated until then.

Have you tried wiping the Batteries' stats? I have no clue if that will help since they do it when fully charged, but who knows... It may help/work.
I have a similar problem, though the phone doesn't seem to shut down much anymore. wiping battery stats did not help. It's slowly gotten better, but far from perfect.
When the phone is on I can charge it and the phone will recognize that it is charging... but if i unplug it and plug it back in it doesn't seem to recognize that it's being charged. It's been the same on several different ROMs.
If I shut down my phone it will absolutely not start without pulling the battery and plugging in the charger.
My contract is up in May or June... As much as I enjoy all the work that's been done for this phone my particular phone seems to be getting a little long in the tooth.
Hi,
I loaded my TR101 yesterday to 99 or 100% ( tablet, undocked), disconnected it from the adapter, used it for some time, and then shut it off. The battery level was around 75% then.
This morning I started it again and the battery level was 98%! So it tells me it loaded in the night from 75 to 98% from thin air. No adapter connected. The dual battery widget shows this too: battery level went up from around 75 to 98.
Is thre any explanation for this? I suppose the battery level is not really 98, but what happened? I conbected the adapter, and the it starts loading to 100%.
I am no twaeker, so I did nothing unusual. I installed all the system updates Asus gave me. Now I have Android 4.0.1.
Any thoughts?

If you docked it again once you shut it off then the dock would have charged it

Yes, I know that the dock charges the tablet battery, but the tablet has not been docked for two days!
BTW: When I started the tablet (undocked) up again after two hours, the battery once more said that it was charged for 98%.
I then used it until the battery said it was charged for 31%. I wonder how the situation will be tomorrow.
First, wipe battery stats if you can. Second, empty it out completely (be careful about the 0% bug) then do a full charge.
Recommended battery use is always to empty it out completely then charge it completely. It'll extend its performance and lifetime.
How do I wipe my battery stats? I cannot find any control to do so. My tablet is not rooted btw.
Anyway: This morning when I started it up the battery icon was red and it shut down by itself (empty battery?), but when I started it up then with the adaptor the battery stood at 17%. This might have been the real status after several wrong indications yesterday, I suppose. Battery health is displayed as "good".
It only seems a matter of wrong indication. The battery last the normal time, it seems to me.
I will let it go to down now util just a few % and fully load it again then.
The reason why I normally shut the tablet completely down when I do not plan to use it for several hours, is that the battery drains when the tablet is 'sleeping', but when I shut it down completely it later starts up at the same level when I shut it down.
This sees to be an issue Asus had to solve (you could read about it all over the internet when I fist noticed it) but as usual Asus is only intrested in upgrading its latest models and soon abandons active support for what they consider "older" models.
However, I do not buy a new tablet every few months. I consider a tablet old after maybe 3 years or longer.
To continue the battery issue: Also, when I shut the tablet down when docked both battery levels have changed when I start it again. To avoid these battery annoyances I often shut it down.

Well the battery stats part is debatable really, but you need root as far as I know, so you can ignore that part.
About the battery draining while sleeping, I've heard other people having that issue. Not sure if it was ever solved... I haven't had that issue.
Last case scenario would be to make sure it's not a software issue by doing a full factory reset with something like Easyflasher. Corrupted files happens, and there's no easy way to "fix" it. Make sure you backup all important data as easyflasher will completely wipe your device clean, but it's the best way to confirm it's a software-related issue.
Hi,
A cold reboot did it!
For those of you that are as afraid of a factory reset as I am: a cold reboot does not wipe any of your data. You press the 'on/off' button together with 'volume down' button for about 10 seconds. You will see some small print and some unfamiliar pics on your screen. Ignore everything, because a cold reboot is the default thing that will happen.
When your Transformer has booted after this, several things have changed for the better, including your battery indication.
If this instruction is not clear enough, google for 'cold reboot Transformer'.
For me it worked and I found it to be fool-proof.

I've been having this problem for the past 4 days, my Nexus S won't charge beyond 38%. I was due for a battery replacement, I got that today, and even that wouldn't charge beyond 38%, after reaching 38%, it says charged. Please help
A friend of mine had the same issue with his galaxy Nexus.
I am not sure if he did what i him worked. He never said anything to me.
1. Use your phone until it dries out and shut down on its own.
2. Start it up to make sure that it immediately shut downs from the lag of juice.
3. Plug in the phone, when it is off and let it charge to 100% ( do not start the phone until then )
4. Repeat the same proccess once more.
This might help set the battery stats that you have for your old battery that are saved on your droid.
If you are rooted it might help to cleat the battery statistics as well.
I'll try it tonight and post back

Couldn't get the phone to charge in off state, kept switching back on, and reached the same percentage and stopped charging. Also used battery calibrator app to clean the battery stats. :/
