Recently, whenever I try to start the Galaxy Wear app, I'm greeted with a black screen, and nothing really happens.
All usual solutions, such as clearing the app data or reinstalling it help, for a short while, but being a Watch 4 user - doing so causes me to go through all the pain of resetting my watch and reinstalling all user apps.
Being also a Galaxy Buds owner, this makes it impossible for me to change the settings for my buds - like noise cancellation or touch functionality.
Since there's no real restore option for the watch, this becomes a real nuisance.
Any help will be appreciated.

HI guys, I've got a real head scratcher and for the first time in every aspect of my life a Google search hasn't come through for me.
Background: Completely stock Nexus 4 - 4.4.3
Completely stock Nexus 7 - 4.4.2
No task or app killers
Problem: Out of no where when swiping away any music player (Google Play Music, Shuttle+, Wiizm etc) the music is killed!? The phone seems to be preventing the app from running in the background. I can hit the menu hot key and open other apps and music will play fine, it just won't continue playback if app is swiped.
I've also noticed I no longer get any form of mini player in the notification pull down or notification (headphones, play symbol etc) in the status bar if I have music playing unless I swipe the app but by which time the music has been killed!
What I've tried: Numerous searches, factory reset, uninstalling and reinstalling apps, cache and data clearing and even a different user account.
I could completely understand that something could corrupt or I could possibly hit a setting I've never seen before causing this to happen but surely a factory reset would resolve it? To add insult to injury my Nexus 7 has gone exactly the same way with the same symptoms. I don't even have the same music players on the individual device so I can't blame it on one particular app.
It driving me insane! Does anyone have any suggestions?
I experienced the second part of your problem, GPM no longer was in my notification bar+shade. Searched everywhere and your post was the only one I could find related to my problem. Curiously I checked the app under >Settings>Applications>Google Play Music and noticed that the notifications check box was not checked so I checked it and now everything is back to normal. Really can't remember if I turned it off myself or if upgrading to 4.4.3 had something to do with it.

have you tried using 3rd party music players?
Is there an exclusion list somewhere to keep the system from killing certain apps?
Examples:
Google Music - If I haven't played anything in an amount of time, it kills the process. I can't hit play on my Gear S2 and start it up again, and when I get in my car, the radio shows the track, but won't play anything. I have to get my phone out and hit play on the screen. I know it's being killed because a) both the Gear S2 and my car worked fine on my Nexus 6 and b) the Music persistent notification is going away, comes back when I manually touch play. If that notification is running, I can control the playback with the car or the Gear S2.
Network Monitor Mini Pro - this should stay running in the background. I've been using it for a long time, on a bunch of different devices, and never had any trouble with it. But this S6 keeps killing it. If I run the app settings, it shows up. I can go home and it stays for a while, then eventually it gets killed off by something.
I tried turning that Battery Optimization thing off, but it doesn't seem to be causing this. I haven't been able to find any settings for this. I've been using Nexuses only for a while, maybe I'm just not looking in the right place.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Need some help....I've installed all apps associated with pairing my gear S2 with my LG V10 phone. Everything worked perfectly for two weeks, now for some reason the app is not working, or so it seems. I go to the installed gear S2 app, it comes up on the screen on my phone, I tap on watch faces, settings, and basically all options. The next screens appears for about two seconds then goes back to the main screen. Anyone know why this is happening?
No clue, I haven't seen this. You may want to try the standard troubleshooting - uninstalling/reinstalling all the gear apps on your phone & possibly try light resetting your watch

I had that too. Samsung support didn't provide help. I tried uninstal gear app, clear app cache and nothing worked. I did factory reset to my phone and it helped.

Yesterday, after adding a bunch of watch faces, I went to the Samsung Gear app on the phone to reorder the faces, and suddenly couldn't reorganize them anymore. I tried rebooting the phone, force stopping the app, and clearing the cache. Still nothing.
Then, I figured, maybe clearing reinstalling the app. I tried both, and then noticed my watch automatically said, "Performing light reset". I'm not sure what the difference between light reset and factory reset is, but they seemed the same to me! All apps gone, all settings gone, watch faces gone, etc.
Luckily, I had done a backup, so I went in and restored, which was nice - it automatically reloaded all of my apps. But it didn't put them back in the order I liked, and the settings on my widgets weren't restored (contacts/apps). It didn't put the watch faces back on the watch, just on the app. Plus, although it showed the watch faces, but I couldn't put them on the watch. I'd tap them on the app, and nothing would happen. Most annoying, when I used Gear Watch Designer to put the watch faces back on the watch, they showed up twice on the phone app, and still, touching one of them, nothing would happen. I can't even delete them off!
Finally, today, I get the update (R760XXU1APK7), and nothing changed, so I decided to clear data and reinstall the phone app, and of course, the watch "light resets" again. I decided not restore data, but to manually reinstall so I don't have these duplicate/non-working faces showing on the app. That worked - but I still can't reorder any of them. Weird. Anyone else still able to move them via the phone? (or could then couldn't?)
(And yes, I can still reorder them on the watch, just not the phone)
Hi, I am trying to use Facer but after I've loaded a few faces, it really seems to freeze up when syncing gear. I need to restart the watch.
Second problem is scrolling between watch faces sometimes is impossible due to lag or the app freezing again (not sure which). I've tried uninstalling but then I lose all the faces I've downloaded and it doesn't seem to retain them in the phone app either.
Anyone else finding problems with this app on the S3?
