Does anyone know if I can connect these to the headunit somehow?
If so, how please?
Yes, normally the center unit is the receptor, in your unit you should have KEY1 and KEY2 wires, the central unit must be hoocked there, and then your buttons will be available in the SWC programmable section !
There can be issues if your car uses the Canbus for SWC commands. Usually, if your car has Canbus and the SWC uses the canbus, then the buttons are not reprogrammable. If your buttons are resistive, then it may be possible to make some hardware/wiring changes so you can use one of these modules.
You'll need more details about your car, such as schematics, whatever type of car you have. You haven't mentioned it.
If someone else has done this before on your specific vehicle, that would be another/the best way of knowing it could work.

I've seen plenty of people pull out their radios and replace them with a tablet; usually a Nexus 7 or similar, as that easily fits into the Double DIN slot most cars have. but that only takes over radio duty. I was wondering if anyone has tried replacing the climate controls as well.

I was thinking since the Radio & A/C cluster is so large, and (for me, anyway) wastes so much space, why not put a large tablet in there, it could probably take a 10" (maybe 12") screen. then the climate buttons and knobs could probably be replaced with an arduino setup.
I haven't even started doing this yet, I was wondering if anyone else had tried this or not

Hello everyone,
I have a question about a VW Sahran steering wheel. I can intercept the keycodes for the left keys but not the ones on the right side.
The left keys are for multimedia control, i.e. volume, etc. On the right side are the buttons to control the board computer.
I would like to intercept the keys and perform actions on them. The signals should not be forwarded to the board computer. Is this even possible?
I am a software developer and already have experience with Android development and first experiences with the Canbus.
My goal is to make my own kind of board computer that I can control with these keys. With the "Mute" button I would want to switch between both board computers. So that I can begin at all, I would have to know first if it could go at all.
Regards
Micha

Hi,
I have 2 android radios: old 8227L and new PX6. With 8227L everything works fine: amp, steering wheel control etc but with PX6 only amp (without fade and balance working, only aplituner). I've found that there is different module resposnible for factory settings, also for canbus settings. New radio have only Simple, Raise and HiWorld options for my car when old one have also XINPU and BNR. I have attached photo from old radio
.

Is it possible to update/change canbus selector?
Edit: new unit have similar selector to this one
Similar problem
Neither are MTCD units, which means, wrong forum to post in.
i have an mtcd with px5 device and rom Hal9k Mod v5 and have the same problem with canbus selector, its the correct forum
My car has steering wheel control which is controlled via canbus and to my understanding I can't program these in the control App (unless I used seb21's mod - In my case I want more physical buttons)
If I was to install an aftermarket control remote (example in attached photo) and wire up to the head unit's Key 1 and Key 2, would I be able to program these via the control app? and would it work independent to the CANBUS steering wheel controls?
I've got a Teyes CC3 unit btw.
Thanks legends!

Thank you sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar.
hello everyone,
I just installed one of this, I believe this is one of the FYT variants. can anyone help to confirm?
1. So far everything wking except GPS mix when I am using radio. Radio gets muted but navigation prompt can't be heard. Have tried on/off GPS mix, turn volume up ... Navigation prompt works with spotify or vlc, just not FM radio.
2. Android auto only use the middle section of the unit, I am guessing it is limitation of AA?
3. Any newer firmware and application available for this unit?
4. Any other "launcher" can be used for style of HU? I see most launcher are meant for horizontal screens.
