[Q] car mod question (tablet replacing the head unit in a 2003 Civic) - General Questions and Answers

I've seen plenty of people pull out their radios and replace them with a tablet; usually a Nexus 7 or similar, as that easily fits into the Double DIN slot most cars have. but that only takes over radio duty. I was wondering if anyone has tried replacing the climate controls as well.

I was thinking since the Radio & A/C cluster is so large, and (for me, anyway) wastes so much space, why not put a large tablet in there, it could probably take a 10" (maybe 12") screen. then the climate buttons and knobs could probably be replaced with an arduino setup.
I haven't even started doing this yet, I was wondering if anyone else had tried this or not

I am looking for an app/adapter that would allow you to power your wired home phone system using your cell phone. Ideally, I'd like to be able to use a cable, like the one shown, to simply plug my cell phone into one of the home phone jacks to provide service to the wired phones etc. I'm hoping to find a carrier neutral solution. Do you know of anything like this?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
I searched the internet for a half hour before posting this question, and I found a solution on Amazon only moments after doing so.
It's the Cobra Phonelynx. It uses Bluetooth instead of a cable, and it's under $20. I'll post a review as soon as it arrives.

[Caller Echo] [Tip] Before replacing your entire charging port/mic flex...

For those of you that run into mic issues where your caller reports hearing an echo of themselves, be sure to check whether or not you've accidentally switched the rubber doodads for your top mic (GREY) and bottom mic (BLACK).

I recently purchased a bare bones screen assembly and while in the process of moving my previous Nexus' innards, I accidentally switched the two. For the longest time, I've tried flashing OS's, stock ROMs, and even replaced my entire charging port/mic flex assembly as recommended by others here. All helpful tips and suggestions and narrowed down possible causes.
So for those of you with this issue, learn from my mistakes, this little change will save you time, money, and from days of head banging and hair pulling.
Hope someone finds this useful and informational, even if it was something so minuscule and seemingly irrelevant.

DVB-T Antennas - best one?

Hi all, i have a HIZPO 4Gb Android 8.0 headunit in my Rav4 running Malaysk rom.
Everything is great.
I also got an AV input DVB-T box recently that has its own IR "dot" and remote, so its purely an AV input to the headunit.
It came with 2x 12v (+ and -) antennas that i have stuck to the front windscreen up the top, (driver / passenger) but reception is pretty average.
They are the ones with the 2x tabs flying off to each side with rings inside a plastic strip.

I am in Australia (melbourne)
Does anyone have any advice or know of any better antennas to use? as if im in certain locations, and stopped, its fine.... but other times, it drops signal pretty quickly....
I believe these have an 18db boost...
