Hello, I have a problem with the camera on the Galaxy S7. Previously I had a custom rom for one ui 2.5 and there the problem was that the camera stopped working irregularly (error message the application still stops working. I changed to another custom and it is exactly the same. Restart helps ( fixes the fault for a while), but sometimes the camera is needed suddenly and does not really want to reset the phone Do you have any ideas what this could be? I did clear data and cache but it didn't help

My Nexus 5 recently captured my attention as the camera is not workig anymore. I have the latest android version, not the L however, an it's unrooted. I only have retrica and instagram for taking picture as well, but they don't seem to work too due to this problem. I don't know where the problem can be originated from, but when I open the camera app it says Cannot connect to the camera. Has anyone of you exeperience it? How did you solve it?
I tried to delete the data from the app menu, stopped it, unistalled and reinstalled the updates but nothing has changed.

Camera not working can be one of the frustrating things when you use a phone. As it involves hardware nothing much can be done. I use Cyanogen based phone which has not given me any problem. I would suggest to try it as it is heavily reliable.

I have installed a custom rom on my samsung s6, so far I like it but I am still testing it.
I came a few errors and would like to know how to fix them.
When I go to gallery on a video and click the editor, i get an error "gallery has stopped working"
When I go to settings>fingerprints, I get the following error "attention an error has occured with the fingerprint sensor, if this message persists repeteadly, restart your device"
can someone tell me how to fix these issues?

The camera on my nexus 5 stopped working three days ago. I used a CAF CM rom then.
First the Google Camera app crashed every time I tried to launch it and any other camera-related apps said "Can't connect to camera".
I wiped the chache through TWRP restarted the phone, the camera worked at first try, but at second try it crashed again.
Then today I reinstalled the stock 6.0.1 from the Google site with full wipe.
Now Google Camera app says "Can't connect to camera" and every other app automatically uses the front facing camera without having the option to change it.
May it be a hardware related error? Would replacing the camera module help?

i'm using a brand new Samsung S6.
When I try to open the camara app I get the following message:
"EVT OR CAL ERROR. PLEASE CHANGE YOUR TEST DEVICE"
What happens is that if I try to take a pic without flash, everything works fine.
If I try to use the flash, the phones shuts down and "dies" and it won't work at all....
The only solution is to connect it to the wall charger and then it will wake up and work as if nothing happened.
I've googled the forum and other websites, and although there are several owners stating they had the same problem, I haven't found a solution to get this solved.
I've flashed a new rom from sammobile.
I've cleaned the app cache
I've cleaned the phone's cache
I've tried 3rd party apps....but the problem remains.
Can anyone help me?
As my N5 was getting slower and slower, I did a factory reset but later decided to flash Resurrection Remix Pie as it seemed fast as well. That fact turned out to be true, however, after the custom ROM had been installed, the Camera wasn't working anymore (the App said "Cannot connect to Camera").
I experienced the issue with my previous N5 from time to time, after I installed a Custom ROM, the issue didn't go away anymore.
I know that in some cases, rebooting, a factory reset or checking the camera connection to the hardware helps... But the first two options didn't work out, and why should the camera connection be bad after flashing a Custom ROM. Also, I tried various camera apps but the problem remains.
Therefore, I'd like to know, if there is a software solution to this issue after almost 6 years.
Reading your post, I assume the camera NEVER worked after you flashed the ROM, right? Strange... I am on the same ROM, I have installed a GCamera 3.2 app apart from the camera app that comes with the ROM. I get occasional "can't connect to camera" errors on both, but usually a reboot fixes the issue. Try a Google Camera 3.2 apk and see if it works. If not, I guess it is a ROM issue, and maybe you should do a clean install again. Are you rooted? Because for some reason this ROM does not play well with Magisk, when they are installed together at once.
