So I have a T-Mobile OP9 that I recently converted to Global and put Android 12 on. I've tried a couple of ROMs (Derpfest and Pixel Experience), but they're both missing the "Lift to Wake" feature. Same thing for my old OP7pro, but in that case, there's an app for that (which is missing the correct senser on the OP9, so it only works on the OP7pro).
But I can't seem to find any workaround for lift to wake on my OP9 on AOSP Android 12. Please someone tell me that my Google skills are simply lacking.

Works on derp-fest you couldn't find ..I'm a tester for derp and works here on Evo without issues as well.
Alright, I flashed back to Derpfest, and I'm not seeing it. I'm on the 2022-01-30 build. I'll grab the 2022-02-20 build just in case that's the problem, but I have my doubts that's it. I'll report back.

It's under ambient display settings.
Totes amaze balls! Thanks, that's just what I needed.

HI everybody,
Apologies for the thread which might seem like I should have just searched... but I have spent hours reading through the development forum and I am non-the-wiser.
I have just come from a nexus 5, where I absolutely love lollipop. I am after a ROM that is very similar to the native nexus lollipop experience. I don't mind the odd customisation like more options on the power menu etc, or options that are at least not enabled by default, but CM has always been over the top and too complex for me.
Which ROM should I go for? The dev forum looks like a minefield!
Thanks
There's no such thing as a best ROM. The closest you're gonna get to a Nexus-like experience is the OnePlus aosp ROM, but I wouldn't suggest actually flashing that because it causes nothing but problems. Just try the official stock CM12 builds that have just come out.

CM is the least "custom option heavy" Roms you will find I think. Most of the rest add more customizations that are often very helpful.
I'm currently running temasek unofficial cm12 latest version. It's got extra features but your choice to use them or not. I don't make use of all of them either (like the gesture anywhere thing, or the circular app bar when you touch the right/left most side of the phone) but things like center clock mod are awesome to change the look of your phone. And quick pulldown.
I'll attach screen shots to show.
It also has a sick dark theme

Hi
Anyone know of a way that I can disable the lock screen? I finally got my partner to upgrade her GS7 from MM to Nougat and it's all good except that there is no longer the option for no lockscreen
The phone isn't rooted and I have tried a few apps that disables the lockscreen but I assume the phone won't let it run in background because they only work for a short time
Is there a way to change the lockscreen type to none via ADB?
Thanks,

That was what was on it before the upgrade but not now

Strange, that screenshot of mine is running the latest version of Nougat
Do you have secure startup enabled? Maybe another security setting is preventing you from disabling lockscreen security
Nope nothing like that. Was fine before upgrade and now the option just isn't there. Oh well I'll just have to hope to find out why the apps stop working, probably to do with doze.
Thanks anyway

Have you factory reset since the update to Nougat?
Always recommended after a major upgrade as it generally leaves behind bugs, battery drain, and possibly weird things like this
I'd backup and reset the phone because that option should be there
Has anyone installed the P Beta for OP 6 yet? If so what are your thoughts? Hat version of Oxygen OS is it on and how does it perform?
It's not meant for daily driver. It has terrible battery life, weird UI quirks, no OxygenOS features, etc.
Wouldn't recommend it unless you're an app developer and need to test your apps for compatibility.

I ran it on my pixel 2 when I had it but I'm guessing it's a lot worse on non Google devices

Yea it's a lot different. No cool gestures as that's build into the pixel launcher, and it's just way less polished.
Like for example the volume slider uses a brightness asset

I'm getting fairly good battery life. Granted I can't play with my phone at work (always busy and I get no signal anyway) but after 12 hours (granted 11 minutes screen on time) I'm at 63%.

Edit: though I am flashing back since Samsung gear S3 doesn't work with Android P.
I just got my new Pixel 3, but it looks like Night Sight is missing. I found that it is supposed to be under "More", but it isn't there.
The update manager says that my phone is up-to-date, runing "Security patch level December 5, 2018".

Have you checked if the camera app has been updated?
?* Problem solved, thanks!
I didn't know it's a standalone app that needs to get updated via the Play Store.
Btw, I know that this question has probably been asked many times already, but is the night sight mode coming to non-Pixel phones (through the Google Camera app) any time soon?

Well, they have modded Gcam with the night sight but it is nowhere near as good as our Pixels. You can check here https://forum.xda-developers.com/ap...ogle-camera-port-t3862448?nocache=1&nocache=1 and https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/
Is there any option to have a double tap to wake instead of a single tap? Way to easy to wake the phone when I don't want to.

such a shame that Google cannot implement all this features into stock Android.
also, Google if you read it, include root access switch into stock Android !!
Thanks. I will give this some thought. I was hoping not to have to root the phone. I'll have to decide how important this is.
This was turned on for me I just turned off now to see how it is

Ye it didn't wake up lol
I think the question was about tapping the screen not the back. OP can try a custom rom that has it, no need to root for that.
