Question Carrier UNLOCK SAMSUNG Z FLIP 3 - Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3

I need help to carrier unlock a Verizon samsung zflip.

Contact Verizon...

I cant I bought the phone online. and i know nothing about the phone.

Contact Verizon. Usually you have to fully pay off the phone or wait until the return period ends, though. That would apply to the original owner's lease or return period if you bought it from someone else. The only issue would be if it's blacklisted (reported lost or stolen).
If you bought it as a Verizon device, being locked is perfectly normal. After all, what reason is there for the seller to unlock a Verizon device being sold to a Verizon customer to use with Sprint?

Return it and do a card charge back through your bank. The phone shouldn't be locked.
If still locked after 60 days it's not been paid for.
Make it the vendors problem not yours.

There are many seller at eBay can unlock for you

U.S.: Blacklisting phones, blacklisted phones, and the shebang.

Okay here's the deal. I bought a "new" phone on ebay from a seller in U.S. shipped overseas to where I live. I bought this to use it in U.S. as well when I visit the country in a couple of months.
The seller agreed to include a printed sale receipt and a letter stating that he had sold this phone with this IMEI inside the box. I received the phone two weeks back and surprise, there was no receipt or sale letter inside. I was gutted.
Since then, I have tried to contact the seller at least ten times and he has not responded even once. He had responded to every single one of my emails in an hour before the purchase.
I am not going paranoid. Is there a chance the seller might be scamming me by reporting it stolen? How does it work in the US? Is it possible to report a phone stolen (to claim insurance) and get it blacklisted without the original phone box?
And, if it indeed had been blacklisted by all the networks in US and it fries my new sim, will having the original phone box be enough for a proof of purchase to "unblacklist" it? If so, how long does the process take considering I might be in US only for a few days at a time.
Thanks in advance!
I would just file a ticket with eBay, not because I necessarily believe they're trying to cheat you, but because they violated your agreement. Did you make sure the seller confirmed to you that the IMEI was good and would continue to be so - within eBay ?
There's always a chance they might be scamming you. The original box doesn't mean anything, to anyone, when it comes to reporting it stolen or an insurance claim or them bailing on a payment plan. Them not having it won't hurt them and won't help you. Lots of phones are stolen while still in the original packaging - and those phones do tend to get blacklisted. And like you have thought, they might be planning to report it stolen or stop paying for it (in which case, the carrier will blacklist).
Why not just buy a pre-paid SIM and use that in your normal phone while in the USA ? Or buy a cheap pre-paid phone while you are there if your current phone does not use SIM technology ? You can get one for $20 at places like WAL*MART and similar, which are all over the USA.
Not sure what you mean about "frying" a new SIM. It just wouldn't work if the IMEI was blacklisted, but it's not going to explode or anything. :silly:
If it's blacklisted, I wouldn't count on getting it "un-blacklisted". Carriers really don't like to do that, and you'd probably be looking at making multiple phone calls and facing the likelihood that they weren't going to do it no matter what you said. Normal reps tend to not even know what the IMEI blacklist is, you'd have to have your case brought to someone who did, and convince them to do it - which they usually flat-out will not. I've only really heard of success with having it "un-blacklisted" if you're a long-term customer with a retention/sob story, and it took multiple phone calls and a lot of time.
Thanks I actually did buy a GSM phone for use with a prepaid SIM in USA. I bought it mainly for 3G band inter-compatibility between that used in US and where I live.
Wouldn't opening a dispute with Ebay for this be a little too much? Also, if I open an Item Not As Described dispute, they would request me to get the phone checked with a local dealer and give them a report of exactly how it is not as described by the inspector right? The receipt being missing would be a minor thing that I am not sure they would even consider looking at.
I really don't know the process (but the stories I've heard didn't make the buyer do anything too complicated). Honestly, the sellers themselves have been screwed over because they'll often just take you on your word and people have been known to scam that way. *shrug*
It's up to you how worried you are and if you're prepared to take a loss. But if they're not responding to you, what else are you going to do it get eBay involved? Other than just sit on it and hope for the best - which might all turn out fine, might not.

The seller is still being very dodgy. Is it true that the Social Security Number is printed on the phone bill when it is purchased from AT&T even if it was an outright purchase?
The seller is refusing to provide the original sales invoice on the grounds that it has his SSN and he would not want to disclose that. He is also refusing to provide a bill by himself saying that he does not know the IMEI of the phone he sold to me so he cannot take the liability of giving a bill for an IMEI he is not sure was sold by him! However, the phone is working fine otherwise.
Could someone clarify if this is right?

[Q] Dad Needs Advice

Hi guys, believe me I looked around the forum before setting out to ask, but it could take years to read all the threads and posts.
A few months back I bought my son a Galaxy S 3 for Verizon through Amazon wireless.
The phone came, I activated it and it worked fine until the idiot put it in his pocket, went out, got drunk, and came home with some barely visible cracks in the screen which now will not light up.
He went to the Verizon store, but without their insurance, they refused to deal with it. Instead, he ported an upgrade from another one of my 5 lines and buys another phone for $250-.
Now I have the 3 month "old" S 3 with a cracked screen that won't light up, and no SIM card.
What am I supposed to do now with this paper weight??
I was hoping to never have to deal with Verizon again, but now I'm locked in for another two years on two of my five lines and I have this very useless but valuable phone.
Suppose I take it upon myself to repair the screen, is there anyway to use this phone on a different network? or at least with a different carrier?
Perhaps a carrier that isn't looking to skin me alive for whatever I can bare? I know this device works with SIM cards, and I've heard folks claiming that it can be used on GSM networks, so what prevents me from using this phone on a GSM network with another carrier??
Can someone explain in layman's terms what this post will do for me??
Or is there some other direction I need to take??
Thank you!
From Amazon Wireless:
AmazonWireless Terms and Conditions
Instant Discount Policy
When you purchase your device with service from AmazonWireless.com, we automatically pass along an instant discount based on a commission paid to AmazonWireless by your wireless service carrier. The commission depends upon your continued service, and if you do not maintain your service for 181 days from the service activation date, AmazonWireless must return the commission to the carrier. Thus, this discount has been provided to you in good faith based on your agreement to (a) activate a new or extend an existing line of service for the device(s) with the carrier for two years, (b) maintain this line of service in good standing, and (c) not alter the line of service type other than adding an additional line of service to an individual account for at least 181 consecutive days.
The following are some scenarios where we may determine that you have not maintained your service and have not met the requirements listed above:
If your device with the carrier is not activated per Amazon's activation instructions within 14 days
If your service is canceled/disconnected before 181 days and you do not return the device(s) to Amazon
If a new individual or new family account is merged with or replaces a pre-existing account
If you transfer this equipment to another carrier's service or to another line in your family account and deactivate the line that Amazon established for your device
By accepting this Instant Discount Policy, you agree to repay $400 per smart phone or tablet and $200 per other device if you do not maintain your carrier service for 181 consecutive days from the service activation date. You also authorize us to collect that amount using any credit card we have on record for you. Amazon can periodically check your account status with the carrier to confirm your line of service is active and in good standing and thereby confirm you are in compliance with this policy.
The Instant Discount Policy will not be applied if you cancel your order and return the device(s) within our 30-day return period. You must return your device(s) to Amazon within the carrier's 14-day return period in order to avoid the carrier's Early Termination Fees (ETF). If your purchase was an upgrade, your upgrade eligibility will not be reset unless you return your device to Amazon within the carrier's 14-day return period.
Additional Terms
Amazon reserves the right to decide who is eligible to purchase a device from us (e.g., an individual may be deemed ineligible based on identify verification checks) and can limit purchase quantities or refuse to sell to an individual who has been approved by a carrier.
Devices with service purchased from Amazon are for individual use only, and Amazon reserves the right to reject orders from resellers or distributors.
These AmazonWireless Terms and Conditions are in addition to the AmazonWireless site Conditions of Use.

The first thing you need to do is, change your Verizon password, so your dumb-ass, irresponsible son, can't stick you with anymore bills.

I would think that since they removed the SIM card from the broken phone and placed it into the new phone, and since he purchased the new phone with an upgrade from a different line, but retained service on the same line, that perhaps VZW is copacetic with that. Service is retained on the original line.
But something needs to happen with this broken phone that I have.
and, you didn't answer any of my questions.
What needs to take place? ...and in what order?
Let me take a stab at this...
Fixing the LCD is probably the first thing that has to happen.
I assume the phone, being a PDA will boot without the SIM card. Yes?
So if it's bootable, and you can see what you're doing, then I guess it's rootable. Yes?
And if it's rooted, then you can unlock it? Yes?
And once its rooted and unlocked, then what?
With which carrier can this phone be used? Rooted and unlocked, why would it even matter?
Thank you, and please.

The Rooting post will allow you to have more control over your device. You can give apps permission to do thing that android usually restricts them from doing. For example, you can give SetCPU permission to change the minimum and maximum speeds of your processor. You must also root to use the GSM network... Check out this guide: Click Here. I've never used my S3 on another carrier though, so I'm not exactly sure what to do

Warning on buying used Phones - Verizon retroactively blacklisting for prior owner

So I bought a Samsung Galaxy S6 in November of 2015 on ebay for $370. I checked IMEI before buying and it was clear. I received the phone and activated it on my Verizon account and continued to use it on that account for almost 2 years until recently when I attempted to move it to a different account.
After completing the port of my number to the new verzion account I was unable to activate the phone that had been previously working. Sometime between November 2015 and when I ported the person who sold me the phone decided to stop paying their bill and Verizon blacklisted the phone as stolen. I spoke to Verizon's fraud department and they are unwilling to take the device off the black list. Verizon continued to state that since I bought the phone from ebay and not directly from Verizon there was nothing they would do.
As infuriated as I am at losing a device for someone else's financial obligation (rant below) I am mainly writing this as a warning to the many people like me out there who buy used phones. I will likely never buy another used phone from a private seller because of this and I suggest you strongly consider the same. I believe this is going to become more widespread as Verizon introduced the device payment plan a couple years ago and this appears to be a clause in the terms that allows them to black list the device as stolen should the individual not pay.
I've contact ebay but am unable to open a case as the sale was 2 years ago. I contacted paypal and they likewise are unwilling to do anything.
Rant: It is as if Verizon is treating the device like a car and has a lien against it. With a car when you purchase and go to register the car under a new owner this can only happen once the current owner has satisfied the lien. Seemingly although the act of activating it on Verizon's network is the same as registering a car it does not require the former lien be satisfied. This leaves a person like me with no way of knowing if the phone will be black listed after I purchase it. Verizon should either not allow the phone to be activated on another account until the balance has been satisfied or at least provide a way to know if an IMEI has an outstanding balance associated to it.
This is kinda common knowledge though. It is the reason xda stands behind and supports swappa.com
This has been happening for years. The only way to make sure is to not use eBay and use a more reliable and vetted source.
There are ways around this (you will find the results I'm sure) but mind you they are illegal and you won't find help here with it.
I feel bad for you. This is still kinda a new thing in the states and carriers are really coming down on it. Just be careful.
As I said swappa.com is a great source. Just about everyone here uses it.

Google warranty returns

Hey
I need to return my 6 month old Pixel due to an issue where callers cannot hear me and i cannot hear them.
Even though i purchased from EE, Google have agreed to do the warranty claim.
Whats the process really like? They say i will get my return within 7-14 days. Is this true?
I am on my 4th Pixel. First you report the problem, trouble shoot the issue. If it doesn't work, you can get a replacement. There are 2 ways to replace the phone, 1 Send the phone and after they receive it they send you a replacement. 2 They send you a replacement in the mail and after you get the replacement you send the damaged phone back. With the second option, they ask for a credit card or debit and put a hold for the price of the phone until they receive the other phone. If they don't get the phone back a certain time frame, you will be charged. You will get a refurbished phone, not a new one.
Hi. any ideal if i can get a repair from them if this item was a gift from my friend? As they bought it from other retail outlet from outside the google store.
Is there a way not to contact the retailer for the warranty as i doubt they can provide it also. Anyway for direct google to do the exchange? Thanks in advance ..

New to this, Is there any chance of a good reason to try and get a refurbished. I currently own a Verizon Google Pixel 32g 7.1.2 (Build NHG470 W. JUL. 2017 Security Patch),but I want to root my own device and from what I understand I must unlock the bootloader b4 I can achieve root? If so what do I need to tell warranty Dept. When requesting a refurbished phone?
Just an update to my initial post.
Eventually I did the repair through EE. Google needed the device shipping to Germany! (Postage paid by Google though). But I thought this may take longer. And I'd have no loan phone.
The process through EE was painless. Chatted online and they said to drop the phone off to a store. Was given a basic Samsung Ace 3. 7 working days later the phone was at the store.
It was replaced, I guess with a refurbished phone. Newer than the previous and this bootloader is unlocked, it was locked to EE before!
I had the same problem and got a new phone 2 days after troubleshooting did not help.

Sim unlocking T-Mobile Oneplus 8 5g?

Long story short: I bought a OP8 on Ebay a year ago. The seller didn't disclose that it was still under contract. T-Mobile refused to unlock the device told me to get a refund. Had to force a refund through Ebay and sent the phone back to the seller, the phone was returned to me as undeliverable as the address provided by the seller to Ebay wasn't a real address. T-Mobile told me I as the new owner but they refused to unlock it still and then blacklisted it. I took them to Arbitration and the Arbitrator railroaded me. So now I have a perfectly good near mint (no scratches dings, etc) cell phone that I can't use.
Is there a way to force a sim unlock and root on this phone? I'm willing to experiment since I really can't use it for anything else, and if I bork it or brick it well at least I'll have tried. I don't want T-Mobile to win this one.

You could pay to have it unlblacklisted and unlocked. I saw a few site that were around $50-$60. Dont know how legit they were but if you did some homework I'm sure you can find someone who can do it
