Question Weather Location not quite right - Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Anyone know why my watch faces always shows the wrong location? I mean it's close but it's not totally right.
Where do the watch faces (I get most from Facer) pull the location from? Everything I have checked is the right location and has precise enabled.

Win6.5 - My location doesn't work ?

I have stock ROM - 6.5
Device appears to never be able to get "my location".
It always prints "My location" under the clock on home screen, that's all.
On HTC Android of my friend it writes there actual city name where we are.
I tried to play and enabled/disabled everything on location settings page (this page looks very differently on Android) - no luck.
How to get it working ?
Go to World clock (clik on time)
Add city (Yours)
And select it.
Have you tried to update through wifi-connection?
It shows even smallest municipality outside any city.
Even though it´s not in the list.
I had this issue too. The solution is flashing a newer radio.
I had this problem whilst being at home, at work it finds my location fine and updates the weather.
I believe this problem is down to the fact that if you go to the weather tab, and add location... If your location is not in there, it can not find the weather for it!
the same here! they have added just 2 cities in slovakia. a little bit stupid. accuweather have the forecast for us, but... thats a bit strange.

It is not "My Location". It is answer to "how to show weather in my city".
I didn't see an explanation how "My Location" is supposed to work, but I assume it should automatically display weather (on Home screen over the clock, and on weather tab) according to actual location of the phone.

For me it sometimes work, sometimes doesn't. I occasionally get some small cities shown as my location - with forecast, and they aren't listed in normal "locations" list.
It does seem to have some relation to WiFi connection, although I can't pinpoint the exact scenario. Today, for instance, I got small city located around 2 km along the route to the work as my location, and I don't think phone got wifi ever once (I drove on highways, and shops/gas stations etc are too far away).

Google Sky Maps

Does this not work right for anyone else? Am I doing something wrong? Trying it right now and I know it has the direction and horizon right but I know it's showing things in the wrong place. Like the moon is not even close to where it says the sun is on the eastern horizon at 10:30pm.
Swyped via my EVO.
Sounds like your location isn't correct. If the direction and horizon are right, then the magnetometer and accelerometer are working fine... open something like Google Maps and make sure it's showing your location right... Also double check your location settings and make sure you have it set to use GPS and not just network-based location...
I think I had to use it in portrait mode for it to work right, and holding it at the right angle helped a lot.
Play around with it, after a little while it was working fine for me. You can try searching for something and try to point your phone towards the spot, after learning how to do this you will be holding the phone right. If not, you will probably spin in circles a few times =p
Sky Maps has been retarded for me in the past. Go into your Applications settings, force-close it, make sure it didn't move itself to the SD card somehow, and wipe its data.

Google Now Notifications

I saw on a YouTube video of a guy getting google now card Notifications on his watch. Now I can't find the video and was wondering if anyone knew how to enable this feature. Thanks!

Open the Gear Manager & go into Notifications. Check the box for Google app. Reminders & notifications will show up on the watch.

I have the Google app enabled in notifications, but I only get one notification (weather) and it says plus 14 (or however many) cards. Do you all get individual cards? Maybe that only works on Samsung phones?

I don't think that's possible. you just get the notifications from GN on gear s2 that are popping up in the notification area, like weather or traveling times or calendar reminders. but not e.g. shipment information or sports information, because that's not a notification that pops up in the notification area.
i see the "and ...more Cards" info but i can not access it from the notification that i get on my gear .
that's what i experienced, proof me wrong, cause more cards would be awesome.
Yeah your right. I rarely get shipping and flight etc notifications because I never buy anything or go anywhere... I forgot entirely about them
But does anyone get actual GN separate cards like Steps, or Time to Home, or anything other than the one SAME GN notification? I figure since I have weather "on" in GN, that is the "first" one, and all the rest are buried under "plus xx cards".

from my point of view you dont get the GN "cards" like steps and Sports and Flight info and so on, because these are all "cards" like you said. you only get what GN puts in the notification area of your phone, because all that will get pushed to the watch when the google app is ticked in the gear manager app.
you see more cards in the notification that gets pushed to the watch though. i cant seem to access them because they are actual cards in GN and not notifications. i could imagine that GN could be opend when the "more cards" button on the watch notification would be clickable.
What i also saw was that e.g medisafe notifications with some clickable options that are made for AW are actually clickable on the gear s2 when i go into the 3 dot menu. but that does not seem to work for GN notifications.
although i think commute times notifications with clickable maps links for example are also clickable on the watch (i mean the map link)
hope its somehow clear what i mean lol
I turned off weather in Google Now, and did get "Time to Home", but I accidentally dismissed it while trying to view it, so didn't get to see options. Did see that there were silhouettes of two cars in background. So, at least on a Nexus, I only seem to get one notification with the "+ xx cards", rather than separate cards like on Android Wear.

Gear S3 GPS tracking question (potentially really dumb, sorry)

I've searched for a while now, and can't find the answer to this really basic question. So here goes...
Is LTE required to track a run? I understand the non-LTE has standalone GPS, but would the non-LTE be able to plot your run without your phone? For example, it would plot it on a "blank map" on the watch while you're running, since obviously you'd need a data signal to draw the map as you run. However, when you get back to you phone, the plotted run would then be drawn over a map...is this possible? I think this is what the non-LTE gear s3 can do, but I wanted a clear answer before I decide which one to buy.
I don't need to make calls and text in standalone, but I DO want to plot a run over a map when I get back to my phone. Hope the question made sense and apologies if this has been addressed. I imagine it has, but for some reason I cannot find this exact question. Thanks.
I have the non-LTE version and track my run using shealth. Once it has a solid lock on GPS, it will plot my run on a simple map without the phone. When it connects to the phone, it will show a more detailed map on both the watch and phone.

Does anyone know of a solid method to get that GPS lock without waiting until the shealth countdown finishes and you are already into a couple minutes of a run? Once it has a lock it does well. I have run with my garmin simultaneously and I notice there is a .3 - .4 mile lag because of the GPS lock delay on the S3.
you must wait for the blinking GPS icon in shealth to turn solid (usually takes 15-20 seconds to lock) before starting your run else no location plotting.
Very nice. Thanks everyone. Just bought one.

That's interesting. Are you on 3.0? My watchface looks like this below. I have to click the start button just to see the GPS icon and by then the stop watch is already running before a lock is set.
Congrats, OP, I think you'll like it.

Yup, my Samsung Health version on my watch is 4.1.3600.
For instance you can use run4gear, it's full of features and can sync with runtastic, endomondo, mapmyrun and runkeeper and now it's free.

Question Weather complications not updating

I find that my weather complication on my watch face is not updating even though I have all the settings correct to allow it to do so. I have enabled allow access all times on battery, no optimizing Etc. Has anybody else faced this problem and fixed it successfully? Thank you
check a different watchface.... and see if it's the same
if it is then it's the watchface problem.
a good starting point...to investigate
Thanks I will try that

I read somewhere (Samsung I think) having the weather on your phone set to not optimized and even a weather widget on the home screen will help if not solve the issue. I personally don't use the weather widget but having the weather app on the phone run in the background with full location permissions helps a lot. I don't have location on the watch turned on I let it rely on the phone for that, as I always have my phone with me. (LTE version of the watch 4 non classic, if it matters).
I actually tried all of that but it hasn't worked so far. I'm trying a new watch face and seeing if the update Works through that. Thanks
The Weather tile for me NEVER changes location automatically. It just adds the location I'm at then stays there unless I delete it and readd current location
Same problem, i can't use the weather app, and when it tries to open it on my phone, The Galaxy Wear App just crashes. I think it's because I don't use the weather on my samsung, and maybe even desactive the weather app but not sure about this, that was like 2 years ago
Also have the same problem on the weather app and weather tile, can't find my location.....I don't have samsung smartphone, but I already check and allow location for wearable app, watch 4 plugin on the phone and also check and allow location for weather app on the watch and activate location on it.....µBut nothing to di, I can't update weather.....
Someone have a working solution for this, cause it's really anoying , thisnis one of the integrated feature I can't launch correctly.....
