Thanks for the work. Pretty awesome ROM. I am having one problem regarding calls. Earpiece does not work. I was pretty excited since I am coming from official MIUI ROM (latest available 12.5.1). I followed the following process.
Unlocked the bootloader
Installed OrangeFox recovery specific to MIUI
Formatted the Data partition
Rebooted the recovery
At this point, I had working recovery
Copied DescendantOS and flashed it
Whenever I get call or I call someone, irrespective of the app (Normal phone call, Duo Audio call, WhatsApp Audio call), the volume comes of Speaker only, even after toggling multiple times. I tried inspecting the log file myself but nothing stands out.

Mind trying with the new build (+ recovery, use it instead of OFox) that was just published?

Unfortunately, both the recoveries did not fix it. Rest everything is awesome. And I discovered few more things. The problem persists with other ROMs, Android 11 or 12, encrypted or decrypted. Moreover, earpiece and everything works perfectly fine when I go back to MIUI!! Any idea what might be the problem?

Np- I'm sure it's not your fault. It is just a shame that I can't actually test the ROM with OrangeFox recovery to see what I can do (if any) to support it.

Another rom hurray! after so many become closed something new. Could you maybe pick up some Lineage rom and keep going 16 is pretty good?
Good to see new rom - only disadvantage for me that it is arm - 32bit :/ . I prefer arm64 roms since I don't have problems with them .
Hey,
long time custom rom user but lurking here. It's great that you bring a new ROM for this phone. Everything works great as far as I can tell. No magisk boot or battery problems.
2 very minor things I would like to see fixed/added: 1) Status bar icons don't fit inside the box. Wi-Fi and Auto-Rotate flood and get out of border. Also I remember a settings button being present there without the need to expand the menu. 2) Add touch fingerprint for lock option.
EDIT: Mobile network seems to not work (no access point names?)
EDIT2: Added them manually and everything is fine
Always great to have a new ROM, thanks!! Unfortunately it's always rebooting into recovery after some few minutes, even without gapps. It even showed the "Shutting Down" system message . Also the ROM didn't find my SIM and I didn't have any mobile network, i would have tried adding access point names if it wasn't for the constant reboots. I have copied logs from recovery, if that is what you wanted I can share with you.
all good until now only difficulty in the optimization in the camera! presents delays. I can not find the option to wake up and sleep the phone with the fingerprint reader

Very good ROM, no problem so far. Just note that the navbar at times is half, you can not see the complete drawing. The icons in the status bar solve them by shrinking the screen, sorry for my English and thanks

Are you using some Magisk module? Because for me that was the issue while using other two roms. The only solution was to avoid flashing any module and the phone worked just fine, no reboots or data corruption.

Lets see how it works - I am a bit tired with all GSIs ...:silly:
--- Rom boots to desktop then do auto shutdown and return to recovery --- interesting never seen that before ?! (with Magisk 19.2 + gapps nano) .
Clean rom flashed again - it lasted longer before reboot to recovery on desktop - so I manage to see that no sim problem is still there :/

res
good job
A couple of things. ROM won't boot unless you wipe data. The clock isn't centered when center is chosen. Choosing "Advanced Restart" changes nothing on my phone.
Have it up and running and rooted. So far no problems whatsoever. Great job.
Edit: after rooting advanced start is working. Not sure if that had anything to do with it but before that I had to use volume keys to get into bootloader.
Eagerly excited to give this a shot. Been wanting a reason to switch things up on my phone, and this sure is one. Will report back once I flash.
EDIT: Flashed on T-Mobile OP8 once converted to global. I attempted to flash from T-Mobile official, but this bombed out and caused it to boot into crashdump. So far, everything is nearly flawless. I will say that display calibration profiles isn't working, but that is pretty minor. Using the standard color correction works fine. I am going to run it through its paces for the rest of the night and tomorrow. If things go well, looks like this will be daily driver material.
Verizon Op8 unlocked. On A10 as I'm waiting to get updated modem from Verizon. I only have build on one slot _a, not both as msm tool has latest ota from Verizon loaded. Is being on A11 base or having oos on both slots a pre-requisite? Please and thank you beforehand.

Might want to read the installer script, your missing a credit
I flashed and it seems pretty good. Some issues to note are, when connected, there's no sound with bluetooth devices, sometimes during heavy use the screen will become unresponsive, and when the pop up comes in apps to use the fingerprint scanner, it shows 2 different overlays. I was unable to get logs and I flashed back to stock, but hopefully this helps

I also came back to post the bluetooth audio bug. Can also confirm that it happens with wired headsets as well, either using the adapter or using USB-C headphones.
I also have no bluetooth audio and display calibration profiles not working.
Wohooo finally!!
Guys help me. I flashed the rom so far so good but there's no fod icon change etc on the crdroid settings menu I went on lock screen options and there's only fod vibration verification but no fod icon change does anybody else have this? Can anyone help me with this one?
Just curious if any headway was made on the Bluetooth audio bug. If logs are needed, let me know and I can capture them.

Yeah, that's pretty much a deal-breaker. Looking at this guy's account it seems he's got a few irons in the fire when it comes to crDroid. Given this thread has like five posters seems not much interest from OP8 users. I'd guess that would leave us sucking hind tit. And it's hard to find fault. I'm sure this is really time consuming work and people have lives.
a new build is up, please don't use the internal installer but download it from our website and follow the install script
thanks everyone for the feedback, it's appreciated
Updated. Fixed the bluethooth issue. Haven't checked the other stuff yet.
A question. Updating as you do breaks root. Could a person extract the boot.img from your package, patch it with magisk, rename it boot.img, put it into the installer package, then update and retain root? Or would this cause the update process to fail?

Am using this ROM for the past one week approx.... It's amazing except slight issue with auto brightness... Which is slightly lagging... Rest m enjoy this!!!
Great ROM overall, love the old skool CRT, etc. Battery great!
Updated to 14.4
Magisk Canary.
Random reboots. Stock kernel and on another different kernel, take phone out to check, soon as turn screen on, death. This happened in exactly the same shop. Phone fine at home. ..
Think it background scanning/WiFi/GPS related?

Ok, sorry to say another reboot in real world. Just gone out in car, checked phone and it had rebooted.
So the bug is still reminding me of background scanning or assisted GPS unfortunately.
Was on superior OS before and with same apps no reboots.
Will turn off both to see..
rom works fine. but when i patch the boot image with magisk and flash it and reboot, it gets stuck on boot animation and won't boot. if i go back into bootloader and flash original boot image it still gets stuck on boot animation
When you flashed rom did you flash boot image to both slots?

You need to patch the boot located inside the payload.bin file which is the rom. Not the recovery boot otherwise what you mentioned will be the result. I uploaded below. Patch this file with Magisk and you will be good to go.
Hi, i have some questions about this rom.
I have seen in changelog of 14.4 that "Statusbar Clock Position" was added, which is important to me. Has this rom also the ability to show seconds in statusbar clock?
And one thing which i also find very handy to use is "Back button kill foreground app". Does this rom have this mod?
At least, thanks for bringing another nice rom to Pixel "sunfish"!

If it doesn't, all you have to do is go to settings. System, gestures, system navigation and change gesture navigation to 3 button navigation.
Thanks, i always use 3 button navigation.
But that wasn't my question.
I love this ROM but....... esim worked then just stopped working? No data at all? Is there a fix to this issue? Love the ROM but obviously I can't use it without data working.

What are your update instructions if existing users are already on your latest build of crdroid 7.14 Android 11
Thanks for being one of the few developers who supports this phone!
Installed without issue, only thing is I had to manually set the preferred network type to get 5g working, but no big deal. Overall the ROM feels quite smooth so far!
Released a new update with fixed 90hz, improved fod and oneplus camera.
The rom is now official !

nvm, you just gotta go to sim, preferred network type and choose any with LTE
Everything is working fantastic and I can't wait to see the other features crdroid offers to be ported to this build. Solid release, feral cat out to test out in the streets.

I just did a fresh install and also side loaded the android auto addon package (from the provided link) and magisk 24.1 stable. No idea if upgrading from the 11 build is possible tho. Anyone else more experienced care to chime in on that matter?
first step is this...
fastboot flash recovery_a name_of_twrp.img
fastboot flash recovery_b name_of_twrp.img
upgraded from lineage 18.1 OS android 11.
... More testing and found out it doesn't tap to wake up at all actually when AOD is activated. when AOD is activated, and on call, the tap to wake up does not work. it also doesn't tap to wake up, about ~4 seconds after the phone screen saver goes off, (screensaver would be the AOD)...
how do i make the AOD brighter ?
so far just had an issue with bluetooth transferring over contacts from my other phone. but i just used email to transfer. i don't use bluetooth so maybe someone else can confirm that there are no problems.
i went through all the settings but i didnt see a setting to adjust the sensitivity for the touch and gesture area on the sides of the phone.
ROM makes my phone a lot faster and smoother. it has a great UI. thanks bro for your very hard work !
Please how can I lock bootloader later then flash this rom

The Oneplus 7t Pro 5g isn't meant to have AOD, it'll drain the battery. the ambient display should work fine

Thank you so much!! Is it possible to install GCam in this ROM?
Thanks!!!
Which version of NikGaps i have to choose?
So I flashed the ROM the other day, I've been enjoying it. I have a consistent OTA update for what says the January 27th update (although I installed the newest version of this rom) but trying to update to it fails and ends up in a bootloop. I'm currently having issues with slowdown while pulling down notification shade like significant lag (most noticable with a media player up) lock screen also slows down significantly if I'm running Spotify and have the media player on the lock screen. For some extremely odd reason running greenify in root mode locks up the system or having Bluetooth headphones connected when you reboot honestly I'm not sure I've had it lock up multiple times on separate occasions and in each case either turning off Bluetooth right after booting or uninstalling greenify remedies the issue. This is a total system lockout whatever happening on screen stops no touch input works and forcing a reset is the only thing to get back up and running. Other than that I've had no major issues. I apologize for the wall of text but just thought I'd throw out how my experience has been thus far and the issues I've experienced to hopefully make this the best ROM it can possibly be.
Edit: for some reason forcing peak refresh rate doesn't fix the slowdown issue but it does make it bearable I'm not sure what could be causing it.
Edit edit: I am now having an issue of WiFi randomly connecting and disconnecting this issue just started and happens on multiple wifi networks both 2.4 and 5ghz.
Edit edit edit: googling around issues for the lag and stumbled across a support thread for the s20 ultra one UI 4 update (I know completely different phone) but uh it turns out the OS is throttling the screen refresh rate rather aggressively and aggressively turning it back up not sure if it applies here just thought I'd mention it.

this rom is very good. are we get any update recenty?
it's been over 1.5 months and no updates.... the ROM seems stable and responsive for now but a monthly security update is much needed.

Huge props to the developer! I'll clean flash tomorrow.

I can't find the settings for app lock. Is it available in this version? I'm pretty sure it was available in the 7.X version

That's a shame. I'm using Nova Launcher. I tried to switch to the native launcher, lock the apps and switch back to nova but it had no effect (makes sense, since it's a launcher thing)
Great ROM!
Though I am currently facing two issues, one is that if I use a different launcher like the provided crdroid launcher the home glitches, and also the sensors like accelerometer GPS compass, etc. aren't working. Is anyone else facing these problems and if so any solutions?

1. The launcher may be incompactable or needs module support like quickswitch.
2. This can be occur to serveral reasons.
-did you flash gapps after first boot?. try deleteing /data/misc_de/*/apexdata/com.android.permission/runtime_permissions.xml
or clean flash rom , dont forget flash gapps before first boot.
2nd cause is this may occur if you are coming from a pie based rom
check your sensors using sensorbox app in play.google.com

I was using MIUI stock before this and while in the stock I had all the sensors available in the sensor box app.
And I did flash gapps, but not after first boot but rather after flashing the crdroid Rom itself.
I will reflash the Rom and will update you shortly!

Fixed Update!
I had to revert back to my stock MIUI with the official fastboot Rom to regain sensor functionality, and after flashing crDroid again, it's working fine, and the launcher issue is gone too.
Hi, great ROM, thanks!
Some minor issue: the apps are not quite sorted; regardless of launcher (even default one), the list is sorted until the last ones:
...
SatStat
Telegram
Waze
Contacts
Files
Settings
What are "Contacts", "Files" and "Settings" doing there and how do I get them to their proper places?
Is anyone else facing stability issues? I have had frequent crashes of the system UI forcing a restart.
after upgrading from 8.2 to 8.5, the mobile network signal became very weak
Is Violet still supported?
Thank you so much for continuing supporting this phone with a google-less option!
Thank you
Can someone help me out: I'm trying to wipe my phone after installing this ROM (messed up some things so basically reinstalling).
However if I try to wipe the data in Orange Fox, I get a TON of errors
Here's the last one in an incredibly long list (takes two minutes to scroll through): Error opening: '/data/ssh/OFJF8xpsY7U8SodJ9qcy6B' (Operation not permitted)
There are a ton of files in the sdcard that I can't open or access or do anything with.
I've never encountered this type of problem before, how do I fix it exactly?
Edit: To clarify, I can't wipe the data partition and I don't know why that is.
Is there anyway to disable the auto app suggestion in the dock at the bottom of your screen?
I like having only 4 apps in there and like the gap for the visual break it gives me. But its quite annoying that the last used app is automatically going in there.
Solved: Click on the home screen - settings - misc - last option (I think its called suggestions)
