Question Who suffered from this fault with the supplied strap - Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Yesterday out of the blue the buckle on the stock Galaxy Watch 4 strap came away, it's gone and snapped where it holds the pin, I've never been ruff with the watch just the usual taking off & putting back on, I've had to resort back to using a 20mm leather strap i bought when i first got it.
I have also a Active 2 with the stock strap & that hasn't done this & had that also since launch.
So i got in touch with Samsung UK over web chat about it & they said they wouldn't replace the strap, this shouldn't happen to a strap that only a couple of months old & i'm not paying £40 for a replacement.

Haven't heard of anything. I usee my 4 LTE daily with lots of walking and jogging, and the band has no issues....

After doing abit of searching online it seems others have suffered from this fault as well.
Unlike Samsung UK which won't send me out a new strap, Samsung US are sending out replacements.
Galaxy Watch 4 (44mm) wrist band tear around the pin
Has anyone experienced any rips in the band of the Galaxy Watch 4?ive had it less than a week and I don't even wear it every day. The pin has torn through the strap.

You broke it the end..... If it was a fault don't you think more people here would mention it? The only fault seems to be you're heavy handedness..

Heavy handedness... erm ok.
Tell me how does one damage the buckle by putting the watch one when there is no major pressure applied to that part of the strap?
I've got a few watches some i've had over 15 years still on the original strap and this has never happened to any of my watches, even the Active 2 that has a similar strap which is over 2 years old now hasn't snapped at the buckle, I look after my stuff pal.
This strap on the Watch 4 is of crap quality, done to cut costs apparently the replacement straps Samsung are sending are slightly modified at the buckle so they know there is a problem.
Oh & btw i decided to phone Samsung yesterday emailed them the pictures & they are now sending me a replacement strap, they couldn't apologize enough on the phone after being snubbed on their webchat.
So your **** reply is now null & void pal.

That's good that they responded well to your call and are sending a replacement - I must admit most of my customer service experiences with Samsung have not been great, and more in line with the initial response you got via chat.
One issue that particularly galls me is how they absolutely refuse to repair out-of-market phones. I buy dual-SIM, international versions of their phones and, here in Canada at least, they won't touch them, even if your willing to pay for the repair, because 'that phone is not sold here.' Right. So someone visiting or living here who bought their phone abroad can't get it repaired? Bullsh*t, Samsung.

Replacing cracked screen

So I just got the S3 like 2 days ago.. i told myself i wouldnt really take it out the house til I got some protection for it but figured hanging around the house with it wouldnt be bad .. I ordered a rubber skin for it 2 days ago and waiting for it in shipping. Cousin comes over today for a quick visit today than leaves. I took the phone outside with me in my pocket, not thinking about the jersey shorts I was wearing (really slick material) I crouch to pet my dog and it slides out my pocket and hits the ground.. just a bit of the bottom right corner screen is cracked, i think it wouldnt be too noticeable with the case (once that arrives) but it is annoying to have this done to a new phone. I see they have replacement screens on ebay, so Im thinking of just ordering one there. Irony was that I was just telling my cousin he should get a case for his iphone for these very incidents.
My S3 is pebble blue, so this gives me the chance to convert it to white if I want huh. Ive done stuff before like taking my zune mp3 player apart to swap a bigger battery in it, and always mess with computers (modded my laptop). Question is how difficult will it be to swap the screen plate?

More expensive than difficult
Sent from my unlocked VZW Galaxy SIII
Ouch Idk if you can just remove the front panel but you might need to mess with the lcd panel. I would look up a video on youtube.
If it is functional I would say wait. The more use you get out of it, the more other parts of the screen will get stressed, could break. The later you replace it, the better the value for you. Again, only if it works and you aren't too annoyed at the appearance. If you do go for it, maybe this might help:
Thanks for the replies, I am researching it now.. I could probably live with it, once the rubber case is here It would cover up the edges of it and it doesnt go into the actual screen too much. But it is annoying ,
But i see alot of replacement glass on ebay that dont have the lcd screen with it , I wonder how the heck are they selling those if from what Im reading its all one piece with the lcd and touchpad.

They probably mold it themselves. cheap knock off's
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5IPaCPaY_0
his vid really makes it look possible since when he got the glass/digitizer off, the screen was separate , but i cant tell if the lcd got damaged when he took the digitizer off since he used a screwdriver and didnt put much care into it since he said was already broken.

That looks so sketchy and unprofessional. It scares me.
i know the phone is fairly new so replacing just the glass/digitizer seems like no one on the net has experience documented replacing just that.

very good looking cases...but for the price i paid for my 6, i wouldnt trust a 20.00 case in the watrer...id recommend either lifeproof or dog and bone. Ive used lifeproof on my s3,s4 and s5 and just ordered one for my 6 for my cancun trip in may, heres a pic of me in jamaica last may, this is on my s5. Im sure the 6 will be just as good
I bought a iPhone 6 case from Eonfine .This is an excellent case for the price. While I have not pushed this case to the lowest depts they suggest in the guidelines/instructions, I have taken photos under water and in waves/ splashing and they have not only been awesome shots, the phone stays bone dry. This case is also awesome because it comes with a wire adapter to help keep the headphone jack waterproofed as well, allowing you the ability to listen to music while lounging in or by the pool or beach. Additionally, this case is wonderful to use for long distance swimmers to be able to track their progress, heart rate and have music (when they have an armband of strap that allows the heart monitor to feel your pulse) and can help to motive their laps (I use the app that can allow me to switch to laps by distance instead of the pedomitor just picking up steps) and runners get the same benefits protecting their case from sweat/ dirt/etc.
The first one looks pretty nice.

I'll second the LifeProof. And don't let the $80 msrp scare you, you can find them on eBay for $20-30. Maybe cheaper now that the S7 is out.

I purchased this one as well. This case is definitely going to protect my phone. Everything fits perfect and snug. The buttons function properly and this plastic case is not made cheaply it really is durable! Fits my Galaxy S6 spot on!
I'm planing to purchase lifeproof or eonfine cases ,but I am not sure about thier waterproof ability.
This topic's been exhausted in already existing thread. Look in there for details on recommended cases.
**And be wary of the above posts vouching for eonfine cases.
Eonfine employees are known to advertise and give false positive reviews and praises on their own products.
kmjds123 and Lingling00 look suspiciously like them (it's their first post and only post).**

(UPDATE: Google Replaced my Pixel) Pixel 2 Frame Cracking

I bought a Pixel 2 recently, and does anyone else have the frame cracking for them? On the left side of the device, below the sim tray, where there is a plastic notch. For me, the crack starts at the plastic and runs for the entire depth of the device. This is strange because my phone has always been in a case, never been exerted with lots of pressure or dropped and I would imagine that Google's R&D would try and avoid this issue. Does anyone else have this issue? Do you think Google would be able to send me a replacement device?
Pictures attached.

Pretty sure that's the part of the phone that almost instantly snapped in jerryrig's torture test. You should watch it if you haven't already, and definitely try for a replacement if you can
I have a case on mine but I thought the body was made out of metal...that is what it felt like and what reviews have said. The primary complaint I read about anything "plastic" was that the white/gray version had a colored plastic power button while the black was metal.
Edit: Looked up the durability tests and it appears this is a known issue if enough pressure is applied. That area is where the antenna is located. I would try to get a replacement...under warranty. You'll just need to convince them that this was normal use...i.e. you weren't bending it on purpose, or sitting on it in your back pocket or something. Thanks for sharing....I don't ever abuse my electronics but obviously I'll need to take care of this phone.

Yeah, I'm currently under the process of trying to get a replacement through Google, I'll update when I get a response back, so others can know if they are covered. :good:
I admit it puzzles me why there is an antenna band there, given that there's a bloody big glass window just above it. I'm sure there's an engineering reason, but it's not what I'd have done.

Aesthetics maybe? I've seen older phones where you could see it on the back of the phone and it was noticeable. Not sure. Regardless, I'd rather have durability and performance over aesthetics. Regardless of how "beautiful" a phone is, for me the cost alone means a case and screen protector (which is also still an issue for this phone...all the tempered glass ones I've looked at show a halo around the edges). I would gladly trade aesthetics for a little more durability or performance. That is why I bought the phone...I knew I would put it in a case so I had no interest in "glass back" or other features like that. As an engineer I actually like the minimalist design...although I do wish the bezel areas were made more functional by increasing screen size I guess, there's always a tradeoff in performance (the primary reason I selected the Pixel 2 over S8 or V30), looks, battery life, and durability...although there probably doesn't have to be.
Update! (After a long a** time)
It took them so long to get back to me, they said only 5 days but it took weeks, but my device was approved to get replaced. It's being picked up tomorrow. Although Google took so long, I'm glad that their customer service (not response time) was helpful. I did have to escalate the claim but it went through nontheless. I'm certain that if your device is cracked, if you pester them enough, they'll get a replacement for you a lot quicker than I did.

LG Urbane 2 (2G) replacement bands

Hello people,
I'm creating a new post since my question is kinda specific, and previous posts concerning this matter are old.
I own an LG Urbane 2, the 2G version. No complains, but after a lot of usage my bands are almost dead. One band broke halfway through at the connection with the watch. Both loops broke after about 6 months of use. One band just started breaking up halfway, and the buckle part where it connects to the band also broke. Thank god for superglue but that's just temporary. I guess because they're made from hard plastic they break easily, especially when I use them during sleep (I use the watch as a sleep tracker).
I've been looking for replacement bands, and apparently the only place I can find them now is online from South Korea, from tntkstore. Has anyone ordered from them? I'm mostly worried about how easy the black (replacement) version can break, compared to the stock. I read in an older post somewhere that the plastic in the replacement bands is softer, which hopefully means they won't break so easy, but I can't find it through searching. Can anyone confirm that? I have already messaged the store, but I haven't gotten a reply yet, probably due to the Korean New Year a few days ago.
If the black ones are as problematic as the stock ones I was thinking of getting the brown version. I really hate the color but I guess the leather will provide some extra protection against breaking. Combined with the deployant buckle I hope they will last a while before breaking again...

I just got mine from ebay, South Korea (TNTKstore) has a store on ebay if you don't feel comfortable buying on their website. I ordered mine on February 6 and got it yesterday. It is a credible store with a good reputation. I paid $68 with shipping for both bands.
I love the way it looks and they feel sturdy. It is that simple to snap off and snap on. The tool to unscrew is included with the bands. The black rubber band is much more thicker but the brown band isn't cheaply made it either. It feels sturdy and durable.

Thanks buddy! Can't see the image for some reason.
Since you're talking about snapping, I guess you got the butterfly clasp too? Also, since the black band has thicker rubber compared to the original I guess that means it will be more difficult to break [emoji4]
I'll probably pull the trigger and order it, may have to wait a few weeks since I won't pay extra for expedited shipping, but I guess it's worth the wait after all!

Note 20 Ultra 5G - Paint chipped??

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, i have left on all the original coverings and added a Spigen Neo Hybrid case which i had for my S10+... i clean my device weekly and it seems that despite it being in a case and screen protected etc. the paint along the bottom of the screen (where the screen meets the bottom) appears to have chipped off along the edge. Has anyone else had this kind of issue with theirs, its not been dropped or anything... pretty annoyed that my black phone has a nice shiny silver chip out of the bottom... I have a Galaxy Watch that has been around quite a bit and has stood the test alot better than this £1200 phone protected by cases and covers... quite disappointed...
EDIT: Finally got a pic...

Pics?
Sounds like a manufacturing defect ie improperly prepped metal
If your within any relevant cooling off period then send it back for a refund or replacement.
If they question the chip explain what's happened and see what they say.
Be prepared for them suggesting it's user caused however
I'll try and get a pic, will have to use the Mrs phone to do so ? I've had it a month now so well outside of the colling off periods, will get a pic and post later

All along the bottom edge is definitely a manufacturer defect. Of course I assuming you don't use MEK to clean your screen
One concern is if the damage goes below the glass it will breach the seal and may allow water, moisture and dust to get inside.
If that's the case it should to be replaced.

I had something similar to what your describing happen on my s10 and s20. For some reason I've always had better luck with the Notes. Would return the S series until I finally got one that was solid.
Samsung should have gone with an anodized finish... goofballs.

What, what, what? That image gave me spacial disorientation.
I see what maybe looks like a small nick...
Result, I finally got 5 minutes to nip into the o2 shop and ask for their opinion, they told me to contact samsung... so I did a samsung chat, who then told me to call samsung, after 4 attempts at getting through to the right people they then told me to call O2... so I did an O2 chat and after being transferred 3 times and arguing the fact my phone was still within the 30 day period they have agreed to swap it... wonder why I put off contacting anyone ?

Yeah It was difficult to describe to as its silver on black its standing out like a sore thumb to me... considering it was under protection too... I have not tried to overplay how big it is to anyone I have mentioned it too, and most people would probably move on with their lives, but I have a bit of obsessive compulsion to keep my devices looking new and this happening through no fault of my own has been driving me mad
Good to hear you achieved a satisfactory.
In the Uk its the seller of the phone that applies the warranty so it was right to contact o2.

The image isn't that good plus no stereoscopic vision on it.
Looks like impact damage but could have happened during production or assembly.
Doesn't look like the case seal is compromised.
I be inclined to send it back especially if I knew it wasn't caused by me. That's a lot of down time though.
If the case seal is intact ie it's a clean nick with no hairline fractures extending under the screen, your call.
If it's covered by the case, you seldom see it.
When you eventually have it serviced you could have the frame replaced but Samsung certainly won't cover it then.
Meh, I feel your pain
I have same issue! Top left corner, bottom left corner, and in between those 2 corners paint is peeling off. it's 2 month old phone, never dropped, always in my hands... Damn it's 1400eur phone with most quality issues...
Green tinted display, heat issues, paint peeling off, etc...
