3 SIM-Cards + microSD - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

Hi,
is it possible to operate 3 SIM cards and a microSD card with the Note Ultra 5G?
With the S7 Edge it was possible to operate 2 SIM cards and a microSD card by sticking the SIM board on the memory card. Has anyone tested this before? Or does Android automatically lock the memory card and the SIM card that has been stuck on?

I mean 2 physical SIM cards and one esim and a microSD-card.
Similar to the Galaxy S7 back then: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_lQdg8yAwM
Or does android have programming that excludes the simultaneous use of three SIM cards and a microSD card?

Nobody?
Does it work?

really none?

I believe Samsung has blocked this from working on all their devices.

thanks for answering. I can´t find any infos about it. Is there a tread about it?

No. But I do know that with recent firmware update releases, Samsung has blocked those microSD card with a SIM adapter from working on their devices.

Merci!

Yes you can have two SIM cards simultaneously.
What you will need to do is:
Insert the Pay as you go SIM card into the SIM slot and the Data SIM card into the microSD card slot. To be able to do this will need to get a special code from T-Mobile called the SD-SIM unlock code.
Very important to use the Data SIM card into the microSD slot since this will give you better speeds than if you insert it into the regular SIM slot.

LOL. That was hilarious. The moment I read data SIM in the sd slot I started laughing
I've always wondered about all those dual sim adapters you see on Ebay. This One, for example claims to "Auto Switch" to allow incomming messages and calls from both cards at once, and manual switching for outgoing. for $7, might be worth a shot. Only downside is having to cut up your sims, but there are others out there that don't require this.

[Q] SIM Card Reader does not Recognise HTC HD7 Windows 7 SIM?

Hi
I have recently bought a SIM Card Reader which does not Recognise my HTC HD7 Windows 7 SIM, but does work fine with other SIMs I have. Now I have never used a card reader before so may well be doing something wrong. Two things that make me wander if the reader is faulty or I am not using the correct software is that; it was a very cheap reader; and the sims that were read appeared to have very little data on them - possibly because the contacts were saved to the phone not sim?
In any case, it would not read my sim for the HTC at all.
Does anyone know if this is normal for a windows 7 sim or do I need a different / replacement reader?
thanks

SIM cards are of a standardized format and are not different in different devices. Otherwise that defeats the purpose of being able to easily swap SIM cards between devices.
Either the SIM card is damaged or the reader may be faulty, or other unknown issues.
its normal that you cant read your wp7 phone sim card, since your phone locked it with some undocumented functions and encrypted it with a password aswell. the only way to make your sim card readable right now is to find someone with a nokia phone, format your sim card on that phone ( since those seem to be the only ones that are able to read the sim card ) and then it should be readable by your reader.

2 sim on EU S8+, possible?

Hi, I recently bought S8+ in Scandinavia/EU and looking at the sim tray, there is a spot for 1 sim and 1 SD card. Is there any way to get 2 sim cards working instead of 1 sim 1 SD?
Thank you in advance

You mean that you don't know if you have a dual sim s8+ or a single sim? It must be written in the back as "Duos"...
I know that this (2 sim & micro SD card) happens in all Duos (Dual sim device)
But I don't think that you can do a single sim version to dual sim
To clarify, the question popped up as I saw some people on YouTube surgically detaching the sim and glueing it to their sd cards in order to get the 2nd sim working. But I assume if there is no actual reader to read the 2nd sim, that operation won't be successful. Thing is, I do not know if there is a reader or not on an European version of s8+?
It's quite impossible since the device must have two imei numbers.

Remove the sim chip from the telecommunications company and stick it behind the SD Card. Look at my photo. Then sim + SD card into the sim2 card slot. This sim2 card slot there sim with sd.
Dual sim on G955F?
Even though not marked on box, is it possible?

The answer is a simple no. Those videos show a dual sim s8 being modded so they can use the dual sim AND an sd card instead of OR.

No. Must have 2 IMEI's for that to work. There is no way to make a single sim phone a dual sim one.

2 SIM cards + SD Card Mod?

Hi there!
I am currently looking at the HTC U11 for my next phone and was wondering if anybody tried to put 2 SIM cards together with a microSD to expend the storage?
I am using 2 SIMs permanently but still would love to be able to use the SD card to extend/backup the storage.
I know this trick worked on some Dual Sim phones (e.g. Samsung S7), with some cutting/DIY work but would it work on the U11?
Thanks
I have tried this with am old sim card and SD card.
But my advice is, don't do this.
The tray needs to much force to press it in. That's no problem. But to get it out that would be a problem.
As the phone is not easy to get in. It would be a repair job for professionals.
You can buy a small tool in China which is very simple but it looks not so good.

That would leave the SD card hanging outside the phone... hmm...
I guess it's OK, since most people uses a case anyways, so it can be hidden inside the case.
My friend in Vietnam has done successfully without any extra external simcard board, https://forum.xda-developers.com/u11/how-to/modification-simcard-putting-2-simcards-t3762635

Question Any way to enable the built-in second SIM card reader?

Hey.
I only found out about this "second physical SIM card reader is disabled" issue after I bought my S21+ here in Australia. Even after swapping the single SIM tray to a dual SIM tray it wouldn't work.. which was then explained over here at GSMarena.
I was getting my hopes up that with a dual SIM card tray and flashing the right ROM, I would be able to use both my physical SIM cards but I seem unable to find the one that would help to achieve this.
Has anyone else come across this and was successful in enabling that second reader?
P.S. I'd prefer to use a European ROM in the end but I'm at the point where if I can't enable via flash, I will return and hope to find a S21+ somewhere else that comes with dual physical enabled ootb.

Hi there, have you ever figured out a way to use the second SIM slot? I am facing the same issue with a US S22. I can see the physical SIM card connections under a microscope and bought a dual sim tray but no second SIM shows up under "SIM card manager"

Howdy.
I wasn't able to get the second one working, not with with the dual sim tray and any ROM.
For me, it ended up with a return and getting one from Europe where the dualSIM came ootb and worked right away.
Sorry, no revelations from me.
Best of luck
Thank you for your response. I am sorry it didn't work for you in the end.
It really is a shame, in my opinion, for Samsung to put up those restrictions on the device, especially if it already ships with the hardware in it.
