LG K51 model number differences when buying repair kit - General Questions and Answers

I have an older LG K51 with a cracked screen that I'd like to repair. According to "about phone" the model is LM-K500QM5 but all the replacement kits I've seen say they're compatible with:
LM-K500MM
LMK500UM
LMK500TM
K500QM7
K500QM
K500UMT
Nothing matches exactly. I was wondering if the the last couple of characters in the model number are provider specific.
Also, any recommended places to buy from?
Thanks

[Q] How can I find my EXACT model number?

I looked where the Samsung web page told me to look for my model number for my Galaxy 7 Plus Tab. I come up with "GT-P6210MA" Problem is, that's NOT one of the model numbers that is listed on the Sammy website!? Thankfully, so far, I've only needed to download Kies, but there may come a time where I'd really like to know my EXACT model number?
Looking in the menu under "about phone" I just get GT-P6210...Is there anyplace in the software that gives me my exact model number? All I know for sure is I have the Wi-Fi (only)version GT-P6210 16Gb.
I was a little confused by this issue also.
The only place I was able to find the full model number was on my receipt from Best Buy.
All of them start with GT-P6210MA, then end with AXAR or YXAR, etc..
When I asked a Samsung support rep. about this issue and any potential differences between the two model numbers, they said there weren't any actual differences and the slightly different codes may indicate which carriers/sellers the product is sold through.
My receipt from Best Buy said GT-P6210MAYXAR.
There is a hard plastic cover on the tablet when you first take it out of the box. It has a sticker on it that gives that actual model number. I purchased mine at Best Buy and the model number was GT-P6210MAYXAR, also.
use "Phone INFO ★Samsung★" application

The method I used to make sure the One S I bought was an S4

I was determined to make sure that my One S was an S4 version. Given that its a pure gamble which
version you will receive when purchasing from a retailer, and the fact that the odds are now well stacked
against getting an S4 version anyway, I had to come up with a workaround for this problem.
My solution was to buy second hand, this way I could know the exact model I was buying beforehand.
To do this I singled out a potential purchasing candidate on Ebay and then sent a question to the seller asking
him to tell me the model number stated on the box. As long as this was Z520e, it was ok to purchase.
This I did and got it for about £250 (brand new on amazon they are £310).
Sorted. Or so I thought... On examining the phone I saw that the serial and IMEI numbers were different
to that which were printed on the box label. Either the phone had been put in the wrong box originally or
the phone had been out for repair and substituted for a different model. Either way it could now be an S3
or S4. I downloaded quadrant and ran the test, luckily it was an S4 Phew!
So for anyone wanting an S4 from Ebay, be sure to ask for the model number printed on the box and for
the seller to check that the serial numbers on the box match up to the phone.
I bought it in the same way but not second hand, a new one!

Can't you just check the box when the retailer brings it our of storage? the box clearly states the model number so you can tell easily, that's what I did!

You could do that, but round here it means paying about £400 for the privilege of buying from a store.
boot to bootloader!!!.if it says "ville" ==> S4 else ==> S3.
good luck!!
I got my One S from an online retailer for about 370AUD, which is just around the same as 370USD. It was specifically listed as a z520e, which made purchasing much easier.

[Completed] Bought LG G2 D802 On Ebay- Fake Or Genuine?

Hi there, I am hoping someone can please help me
I have just bought an LG G2 D802 from a Hong Kong based Ebay store. It was sold to me as a brand new phone but I am having some suspicions about this. For a start - the IMEI number actually matches up to a Nokia 3310. I have had no success with getting 4g ever & knock on feature does not work. Apart from this - it's a terrific phone & arrived in a box with stickers on etc & looked brand new. The box says "made in China" but the phone says "made in Korea". Is there any way to tell besides pulling it apart to check the motherboard? Have I reason to be suspicious? The Seller insists it is a new phone.
Model: LG G2 D802
Software Info:
Android version 5.0.2
Baseband version: M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190128
Kernel version: 3.4.0
Build number: LRX22G
Software version V30a-HKG-XX
Hi,

p30 region model ele-l29

hello
since im interested about p30 while checking gsm arena i noticed that model ELE-L29 comes into two variations 6ram and 8 ram and "global" . Looking around for EU stores mostly i found was the 6 ram model so im guessing its more like the 6 model be European. i only found the 8 ram model in an online site which has eu warehouse but i think all models come through Asia. so my concern is what "global" actual means. is it clean from Chinese apps and software language? how are the "global" variations covered by warranty? that site claims 1 year under them and dont come under manufacturer warranty while eu law states 2 years if the item is bought from eu.
if anyone can explain it more how these variations work or had any experience with a "global international model" and had problem or even different variation from his region what happened with warranty. Any info would appreciated
regards

PSA: Buying used? Triple check device variant. Sometimes sellers get confused!

Just fell into a trap and thought I'd share to help the next human.
It is common for P2c72 (Chinese variant) to be re-flashed with international firmware (I hear even alibaba did this itself?). When this is done, the phone reports itself as the P2a42 in the Android "About this phone" page. So, when one of these phones comes up for sale somewhere (ebay phone reseller in my case), the seller may take the phone's word for it and list it as a P2a42, but instead it's a P2c72 which may not work with your carrier (different bands).
tl;dr - If you're buying a used P2, have the seller prove it's the correct model number. This can be done in at least two ways:
1. Look at the phone body. The true model number is printed next to the headphone jack.
2. Enter the bootloader (with phone off, volume down + power), select "barcodes" using the volume buttons and then press power to accept. You can see the model in there.
To get the seller to accept a return I had to flash the Chinese firmware back on there using fastboot to "prove" it was the Chinese version... was a whole adventure. Avoid it. Though I did have a funny exchange with the seller, paraphrasing:
Me: Hey this isn't the phone listed in the auction. See here's a picture of the model number on the body. I can't use it on t-mobile.
Them: Nah.
Me: No really here's the bootloader showing c72.
Them: mmmmmmmhhhhh
Me: And here's a screenshot of the Chinese firmware on it.
Them: k send it back.
...3 days later...
Them: (Opens an ebay case against me) Yo! You sent us a chinese phone, we can't refund you it's not what was in the auction!
Me:
There's LTE bands difference? I am using a P2c72 with a P2a42 firmware for over a year now.
Yes check the first post in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p2/how-to/lenovo-p2-owners-click-t3668029
The LTE bands ended up working for me on TMO but there was insufficient overlap for day to day use on 3g/4g mixed.

Wait, so my p2c72 is still locked with its LTE bands?
72 has a different radio than the 42. The difference is physical - no software will change what the radio can do. It has some overlap with North America. If it works for you, I wouldn't worry about it.
But the battery are interchangeable between the 2 devices, right?
I don't know, sorry. Maybe someone else here does?

But is it possible to replace the radio chip? I mean can I replace the p2c72 radio chip with a p2a42 chip? Just the radio chip because I want to keep the 64gb storage lol.

The devices are identical, only difference is modem and ram/storage. So, the answer is YES!
